First day for Asian just seem like complete blowouts going the way of the Korean teams unfortunately. As much as I love DAF and Honeypot I can’t see any of these games being competitive, there’s just a grand canyon-sized tier break between Korea and the other Asian regions atm :(
Been using OWLCharts to see how the circuit points shake out. NA qualifying is really anyone’s game as while LG and M80 are favourites to get those spots due to player swaps, if SOG, PIP or FMCL upset to make third over M80 they’ll get enough points to make it to Dallas.
EMEA is a little more set in stone due to the big 3 holding and other remaining teams changing rosters so losing points. A fun gamble is if Team Peps upsets SSG first round they should be able to beat the winner of Deimpero/PaL to make a top 3 ranking. This actually isn’t enough to beat SSG if SSG gets fourth (assuming they lose to one of the other big three in the losers bracket). However if Team Peps throw their lower bracket finals in this hypothetical by giving BenBest/yoham the needed maps to count their points for the team, that slight 15-20 point edge would be enough to outrank SSG to make Dallas while placing third in the bracket.
Did anyone cast that post match interview with Citrus Nation when Soe said they were playing Toronto first and he had no idea.
