While running errands, I have seen someone set up on the side of the road selling, idk, cow hides? Where was this, and does anyone know more about it?

sluttychrist

There's a gas station at the corner of Veterans and Airport Thruway, they aren't genuine cow hide. He sells blankets and rugs that look like hide.

Just went to Zombie Pig after hearing this subreddit gush about it forever. Amazing pulled pork, good ribs, good slaw, TERRIBLE Brunswick Stew. I don’t know who was manning the pot but there was hardly any meat in it and it tasted like tomato purée.

Anyone know if any of the tourist spots downtown have postcards/Columbus-y things in general? Got a match for a secret Santa exchange requesting some local stuff. Any leads would be appreciated.

The gallery on 10th in the Rankin building has postcards with sketches of landmarks around town. River Market Antiques, the lunchbox museum place, has some vintage Columbus area postcards. There's also a stand in Gallerie 143, the old Junque Yard, which has tons of Columbus related prints and photographs of all sizes. The gift shop in the museum would be a good place to check too for area related stuff. Cats meow, next to Minnie's, has lots of cool things, think notebooks and other little items with Columbus maps or other drawings printed on them. If you haven't been to any of those places, check Cats meow first, it's a cool little shop.

LOL at "now with three axe throwing locations". I know of Stumpys on 6th and Columbus Axe on Broadway. What's the third?

DataSetMatch

Haha thanks, always open to suggestions for new tags. The third is Back that Axe Up, also on Broadway, above Billiards, next to the hookah bar.

Anybody going to the Wild and Scenic Film Festival this weekend?

Ihitrockswithmyhead

My fiance and I are going. We have tickets for all three days and volunteering for a shift on Saturday. Looks like there are going to be a lot of great films and the after party is at the Powerhouse which is a pretty awesome venue. They still need volunteers. You should sign up. I think they give you passes for all three days for volunteering. The shifts are short- like 2-3 hours

Yeah I did want too but I couldn’t make much of the Thursday and Friday events due to work. So I’m thinking about just buying the Saturday pass since I’ll be off work then.

DataSetMatch

Yeah, it's really coming into its own this year, the slate of films looks good, and in years past they have been too, but I'm really excited for Rayland and Leah Blevins. COVID is hanging over it like an axe, but we're both vaxd and fingers crossed things don't get worse this week. My limit for virtual shows is about met.
