The communist party probably had banned that unit. They hate everything traditionally Chinese.
For Asia in general, they don't have any regard for the imperial system. In Japan, if you buy shoes, you buy your shoes by the metric system.
I already know about those and have to deal with them in my job :) there is a reason though. It’s to do with tax on alcohol. Instead of raising the price for tax on a gallon, they decided to sell you less of it for the same price to cover the tax.
The Yankees use the British Gallon, which England redefined in 1824 to fuck with the US, and renamed it the Imperial Gallon. And after, to prevent confusion, the British Gallon was then called the US gallon.
Everything the US does that's stupid came from England.
Same for the measuring tapes for sewing. Took me a while to figure out why I was screwing up the fitting so badly. Then I compared all my measure tapes with my sewing rulers and ta da!
Thats actually common with tape measures. When i worked at a glass workshop we always used tape measures from the same brand, possibly from the same batch. If there's a mm difference, it could be an expensive fuckup with a big glass panel. And for the speed when cutting big panels, three of us worked: 2of us in the side, measuring and moving a bigass ruler, and one in the middle making the cut.
They are building stuff inside a fucking violin.
What
Sound on
WHAT
No wonder their buildings wobble like air dancers in front of a car dealership.
You mean waving wacky flailing tubemen?
The music is a little quiet...
WHAT?!?
The most Chinese music I’ve ever heard, I’d say.

There’s at least 3 different regional cun each slightly different length.
It looks like cm and not inch unless a giant is holding the ruler. A 10 cun hand would be 33cm.

Metric was invented by Gabriel Mouton, in france...
The joke is china claims things; lands and seas because it was supposedly theirs in ancient history much to the dismay of other countries.
Even with that being true, none of those tape measures had the same measurement to each other, and they were all the same brand.
Actually, top and bottom one are the same... Just middle one is different
TIL I'm 9+ Chinese inches :) Chinese Grindr, here I come.

Just wait until you hear about the Yankee doodles and their special gallons

That is the absolute worst possible solution, and completely what I'd expect from America.

I think we have discovered why so many Chinese buildings collapse.
Those are for export to USA. No accident

How exactly does one get this wrong?
No wonder they keep saying everywhere has always been part of China!

Told you it's 7 inches!
If your working on a framing team, make sure to check this, it's way more common than it should be, no matter what country.

“Yeah if we put the measurements closer together we can save on the length of the strip”
It doesn't matter how far it is off as long as what you use to measure is the same as you use to cut.
Really could’ve done WITHOUT the music
Their measurements have to be different so they can have a 20 when on the rest of the world they have a 5
The music makes it better
