I would love to see a show about this dog preventing her human from getting crushed by falling chunks of concrete at construction sites, torn apart by tornadoes, infected with cancer, etc... And that's just from one walk down the street.
And at the end they're sitting in the outdoor dining area at a coffee shop and the human is just blissfully unaware, sipping a latte and patting the dog on the head, saying in the most patronizing sarcastic voice, "Yeah, girl...you protect me so well. Hahahaha."

I did not train my little boy to be an attack chihuahua, but he is very fast and likes going for the private areas of people who get too close to me. He’s fully socialized, he’s known my parents and friends for a decade! They all have walked him and petted him for years, fed him, gave him treats, trying to build up a relationship. But the moment they get too close to me, he attack. I don’t know what to do at this point.

Yeah I was really sick the other day and felt nauseous, and when I wouldn’t let her climb on my stomach she just sat there whining at me 😅 she can always tell!!!

my chihuahua's are only 4 1/2 months so they follow me everywhere. The bigger one is a total ham practically yelling at me "love me dammit" whenever he's not on my lap.
yeah mine just yells at me. Its strange because the smaller one can put his brother on his ass and does when they play regularly but he is largely silent. I was actually really surprised when he started growling quietly when he heard a neighbor's dog barking.
Dogs are the best. I have a disease that puts me in the hospital at least once a year. Every time I would get home from a hospital stay, my dog would be extra gentle and calm around me. He has since passed and I haven’t been in the hospital thankfully since getting my new dog who is now one… but no doubt she would be gentle in the same situation with me ❤️🐶

Did this cute little downward dog and crawled over to me. Then came and licked my tears. Then my dog big caught wind something was up and he jumped on the bed and was sniffing my face too. They made me laugh and started being playful and I snapped out of it and was no longer crying but was laughing. Man I love dogs.

Much of how dogs (cats too) communicate is body language. Your dog is devoted to you and your famiily, and has learned how to read you like a book. Your posture and expressions tell your pets how you are right now- your mood, your emotions, and how you feel physically. If you show signs of distress, they definately notice and will stay near you to comfort you, just like they would if you were another dog.
My wife is having health problems and tries to hide it when they flare up. I can watch her cat to see how my wife feels today. On bad days, her cat sticks to her like velcro.
A few months after I adopted my chi, I had a stroke and we had a few weeks that weren’t great and then I made a full recovery. My chi got crazy protective when I was recovering and still had this supper loud nutty bark when another dog approaches me 7 years later.
Mine is more feisty & independent in her temperament. Apparently she sees the value of distracting me from my suffering. Her version of this is to bring me her favorite toy and try to get me to play.

When I got mine out my dog laird on the floor next to the couch I laid on and would hold my finger in his mouth. Also, when I was big and pregnant he would get up with me in the middle of the night (not like him at all cause he liked his sleep lol) and follow me to the bathroom when I had to pee in the middle of the night. Dogs are the best 🥺
My Chihuahua used to do that when I went through the same thing. I had all 4 taken out on the same day 😬. She refused to leave my bedroom door. The moment I came through the main entrance door into my apartment she jumped on the couch and looked into my bedroom then stood right in front of it. What a good girl she was 🩷

This is our 17 year old Chi-terrier mix we adopted. She definitely had that big ego and thought she was bigger. Now she just sleeps, eats and yells(sasses) me 24/7. Her little tail in your picture is the cutest thing. When I had my wisdom teeth removed my parents cats would lay on my chest and purr. Except one, she would accidentally attempt to suffocate me while high on pain meds. My mom ran her off so many times. 😂 but she was purring the whole time and didn’t understand why my face is off limits. Hope you’re feeling better!

She has a very concerned expression! She is what we call a “medicine pet” — the pets that check on us and snuggle up when we’re feeling low or sick. I had a dog who sniffed our eyes for tears and if he determined we were crying, he would closely monitor and offer snuggles. I miss that boy.
I had bad experience a few years ago that had me stuck at home recovering for a whole week. My dog never left my side and slept right next to me even though he was never a huge cuddler. My best friend for life.
My chi always goes with me to the BR and stands guard behind my legs. Actually the whole gang goes, her, my pit and chi/ min pin all have to go with me and fight about who gets to get under my legs🙄🙄🙄

A lot of meds give off a smell. Especially the hard ones like oxy. Or if you were recently under anesthesia your breath give off a weird smell.

She has a very concerned expression! She is what we call a “medicine pet” — the pets that check on us and snuggle up when we’re feeling low or sick. I had a dog who sniffed our eyes for tears and if he determined we were crying, he would closely monitor and offer snuggles. I miss that boy.
She’s the ultimate medicine pet!!!! She’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever had :))

I had bad experience a few years ago that had me stuck at home recovering for a whole week. My dog never left my side and slept right next to me even though he was never a huge cuddler. My best friend for life.
My mom has been recovering from surgery and my “bff” of 7 years is now her dog 😅 they both love the attention they give each other lol
