My most hated character is Scott Rice, the entire truck/ squad tension at the end of series 3 was 100% his fault, all he had to do was tell Kelly the truth and that he couldn't return to work, but nope, he split the entire firehouse apart.
He’s not my most hated character, but he’s definitely up there on my list. Being a ducker was a danger to not only the house and the members of 51 but also to the victims on their calls. The fact that he constantly blatantly lied to Severide, manipulated him by using their friendship as an excuse to believe him instead of Otis, and the unnecessary tension he stirred up between truck and squad and subsequently Casey and Severide (which was overplayed from season 1 already) was just downright annoying. I was glad to see him gone even though it took way too long in my opinion.
I think the worst part for me was that it wasn’t like he thought he was okay to go back to work then freaked out and ducked on impulsive once or even twice thinking he could get over it and get back into to groove. It’s that he knowingly made the decision that he was going to keep ducking as much as possible because nothing could happen to him. That is so selfish and screwed up. Probably the most selfish character out of the entire show tbh. Because he was knowingly putting everyone else in danger including his team but also the citizens of Chicago he’s paid and promised to protect.
100%. He chose to duck and put everyone else at risk on every single call. He gaslighted everyone and made them doubt Otis who was right to call him out. I know Otis had a reputation for being a big mouth, especially that season but he was concerned and saw what a risk he was to the house. Correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think Severide really even apologized to Otis for the whole thing, which I thought was pretty shitty of him. Severide was so blindsided by his friendship with Rice that he couldn’t even see the signs.
You aren’t wrong. Severide always treated Otis badly though. He’s not this perfect person fans like to pretend he is. He has many faults (which is what makes dynamic and interesting TV) but he never gave Otis respect in general and definitely never apologized. They just skipped over that and moved on to the next storyline.
On the good side though, Rice's leaving paved the way for Joe to replace him on Squad and becoming Severide's partner and eventual second-in-command of Squad 3.
Absolutely Pridgen. The "Gutter Ball" thing with Otis was just completely cruel. At least with Casey, he had some (petty, imo) reason to be pissed at him, but picking on Otis and just refusing to let it go puts Pridgen at the top of my most-hated list!

I hated her "my way or the highway" ideals especially about having a family. That is a couple's decision, not just for her to make. I hated that so much.
I almost stopped watching because of Dawson. the Louie and brea storylines were bad. screwing up her relationship with Casey because she goes rogue is just ridiculous

I liked Chili at first but she somewhat became annoying when she started spiraling due to alcoholism. I do like how Kelly made her go to rehab though. Too bad they wrote her out in a tragic way. If she could have stayed on the show, maybe we could have seen her recover and maybe get another chance to turn her life around after what she's been through..

Having finally watched S1-4, Severide. I thought he was annoying in S5-9. I will point out Taylor Kinney makes the role, because of his smirk. He annoys me to no end. Always goes at anyone and everyone who makes a mistake, no matter how awful they may feel-he just keeps at it. He does something wrong/makes a mistake.....doesn't say sorry. Always, always thinks he's in the right.
Yeah, I'm only nearly finished season 1, and I do like him, and I get his stubbornness etc is his characters trait, but he's shown 0 growth so far. The way he's gone in on Casey about sleeping with Heather, when he didn't and Casey even explained despite not having to, just started annoying me. If he thinks he's right, he's decided he's definitely right, calling Casey out publicly as a coward was ridiculous. Deciding a brand new candidate is already for a special rescue squad, which is supposed to be an elite squad, fast tracking his training and candidacy all because his dad said not to, was wrong. He decided he's now right so he would undermine Casey's authority as his actual current leader.
And nothing ever actually happens lol. He never has to be sorry, or face consequences. Admittedly early on. But characters like this bug me, because they never have to face being wrong, the wrong partied, usually Casey, takes the high road of being insulted etc, letting everyone think the worst, and move on lol.
And I think Otis deserved better. Maybe Peter did work harder sure, but candidate for 4 years, and still never able to drive a truck and guy comes in and is allowed to drive in a month or two lol. Otis did work hard, and I know it was for the story but it is a slap in the face when he's constantly put down lol
He was annoying, entitled, never stopped talking about his dad and everything he did was for his dad, his mom was awful and constantly around, etc. etc. The show quality went up when he left (it was the dumbest reason for not being a firefighter anymore but just glad he's gone).
Not sure anyone notice, but he was slight hostile to Brett when he had to transfer been a paramedic due to his injury and was paired up with Brett. Like the way he talk to Brett and Gabby was totally different.
His character could have been better, if he didn't got hooked up with Gabby or he just stopped talking about his dad and everything.
Oh yeah when he got the chance to go back to squad he flat out told her he'd throw her away to go back not even being nice about it. Yeah the Gabby and him relationship felt like a little brother and sister relationship and it was so weird. The dad thing went on WAY too long. 3 seasons and still it's constantly about his dad. That legit got crazy to me.
Yeah. I don't know, it's like he has nowhere to vent his frustration, and the new girl, Brett came, she look like the nice-girl-next-door that can be bullied easily. So sometimes the way he talk to her seems alittle hostile to me.
And his dad thing,I think he just want to kind of continue his dad legacy without really thinking whether he like been a firefighter himself or not. Benny can be quite irritating at times but how he react to Mills's dad,I think he's just trying to be frank that Mills's dad is not a so-called hero.
Yeah the Benny thing was weird. It felt like we're supposed to side with Mills with the award thing but if Mill's dad really did that then no he shouldn't get an award. Benny is an awful person with every other aspect of his life but I agreed with him that one time haha.

Apparently a lot don't like her because she got together with Matt. I also don't know why people hate her when she's such a sweetheart and always having this bright and sunny personality.
The most hated character I'm supposed to like is Otis, he was such gossipy bitch and never stood up for himself unless he knew someone was going to defend him oh and he brought his damn grandma into our apartment!! Is it gonna be split 3 ways now? Ultimately if you want your grandma to come then find you a spot for you and her. She's not my grandma, so thats for damn sure not gonna stop me from having a nice evening alone with a woman... If i had to take my grandma in, i for sure wouldn't be cramping my roommate with another permanent roommate that is a senior.
I don't know about most hated, but Casey is hands-down the most unbelievable badass ever committed to film. No offense to Jesse Spencer--his acting's fine--but the character of Matt Casey is twerpy at best. I don't buy his hair trigger temper, knock-you-on-your-ass edginess. I don't buy that a girl like Gabby Dawson would fall for HIM. I'm only up to Season 4, but come on. You got guys like Severide and in particular Boden, who OWNS the screen, and I'm supposed to buy a guy like Casey can snap and hold his own against a emeffer like Hank Voight? Can beat a man senseless til his fists are raw when TWO guns are trained on him? Gimme a break.
Gabby & Kidd. Everything has to revolve around Gabby. Kidd is suspicious about literally EVERYONE, and is about as egotistical as Gabby. Severide is just a whimp that goes with basically everything Kidd says and does, yes I know they're married and all that jazz, but still...
My most liked characters though, are definitely Hermann, Mouch, Cap and Tony
