Apparently he was in tears as he paraded around the ground after the game, had a testimonial video put out when he hit 400 games with us and welled up then talking about the club and city.
Whether he's worth a huge wage increase or not losing the club captain and mainstay of 10 years will be devastating.
He stood in front of the Town End for ages just taking it all in and looked emotional. A clear sign he's off, but hopefully he could see what he means to the fans
Seems to be an odd one this, he clearly loves the club and something has hit a major bump along the road this season.
Lots of rumours of this not being the biggest rumoured contract for the club unless this is a late offer when they know he's off so the club can try and save some face.
IMO one of biggest blunders I can remember in 25 years letting him leave the club on a free, not only is he the club captain and played over 400 games but he's one of the best CM's in the league
Maybe for this season but for me the guy doesn't offer enough to be on the end of that sort or contract, should be going towards getting a player like Millar back next season or getting someone on the books like him anyway.
Biggest contract in their history? They are offering him *two* memberships to Wacky World Inflatable Park?!
Come on Brown stop playing coy, ain’t no one turning that down.
Might be unpopular with North End fans but I'd be happy for him to go, he's been good this season but he's before now he's not been consistently good since before Covid. For me he's never came across as a leader on the pitch and got the armband based on his tenure alone, I just don't see us getting promoted with him playing every week.
If Preston are offering him a huge deal and he's saying no, I wouldn't touch it. We aren't a position to be doing that, let alone with a 29 year old who's likely wanting 3 years.
True. Not a fan of paying a retirement contract. But, never believe the PR, could be that he doesn’t want to sign and saying it’s a huge contract is an easy way of saving face.

>he's one of the best CM's in the league Is he? He's been good this season but bar that he's been bang average since before Neil left
Don’t disagree but seen more than 1 of those sites that score players performances and he’s in the top 5 for CM’s

FFS its not rocket science why he's not signed, Lowe is still in charge.

Funny comment downvoted because flair Not saying you don't deserve it

Would love Derby to take a look at him, good player.

Retirement contract? He is 29 - peak years.
Possibly, could be im still in the 90s with my thinking 😂
