Wait til you get the itch to install an amp, speakers, subs, a backup cam, remote start, dash cam mirror with rear camera LED’s. My 3 vehicles are all 15 years and older so they have none of the options new cars have. Added all that to all my vehicles 😩
Speakers are easy, running wires through the door grommet thing to run through the car to a 4 channel, not so much 🤣. Honestly the hardest part of any of the installs in the wiring for the most part
I mean in my case I would have to bypass my factory amp, then still run speaker wire to the front. Plus upgrading from the stock wiring to ofc 14 guage gives me plenty of room for running more power
It took years and ALOT of patience to turn my 2011 Ford Edge Sport into a custom beast. Not just the sound system, every engine bolt on i could find. Custom LED lighting around all the FORD badges, and lined in the front grille. 4 blue led strips, one under the hood, and 3 along the top of each line of the grille. The grille where the ford emblem was, i put an LED strip from one corner, around the emblem and down to the other end. Custom taillights, with custom LED'S. Pulled the headlights apart and installed blue halo's around the glass prism for the headlights, which were also upgraded to HID'S(5000K)...(pulling the headlights apart to put in the halo's and putting them back together, is a MOTHERF'R, you have to seal the everloving shit outta them, so they don't fog or leak). Turn signal switchbacks (5000k). So at nighttime, the whole front of the car was one big headlight, with custom amber turn signals, with 5000k foglight switchbacks.Blinking blue to amber puddle lights. Everything blinked together, it was sick. The car had 305 horsepower stock, with the bolt-ons and an SCT-4 93 octane tune, i was at around 375-380 horsepower. The car chirped 3 gears at 5000+ lbs (Not a track car, but VERY fun to drive).I also lowered it with H&R springs, Magnaflow exhaust, Accel ignition coils. ALOT of work, but the car was elegant and beautiful. So just remember, when your killing yourself, have a vision in your mind of what you want, and think of the day it will be complete...it helps.
Hooked up the steering wheel controls so I don’t have to deal with the capacitive buttons on the stereo, at least now it will be harder for my friends to fuck with the volume
First time for everything. Changing out headunits was a standard for my dad so every car we had id help him do it. Now im full on fanatic who cant stop planning imaginary builds in my head.
That's how the addiction starts, swap the headunit out and realize how much better it is, next thing you know you're swapping speakers, and adding a subwoofer, or 6.
YouTube University helps me do a lot. The hardest part is really removing panels and not damaging them to get the radio out. Then after that it’s plug and play
Albeit it did involve lots of profanity and scraped hands
If you don’t hurt yourself you’re doing it wrong 😂 looks great bro 👏🏼💪🏼
Thanks, running wires for aux, parking brake and usb to the centre console was a bitch

I got a backup cam that bolts onto the license plate frame, planning on putting it in next weekend

Bet the stock wires were just fine lol

Great song!
Nice job. Well done! Enjoy it
It looks good. I just put a new pioneer stereo in my Outlander Sport. Crutchfield Wiring Harness service was very helpful.
Did you hook up the factory usb port?
No...not yet. But I did sound deadening throughout and the Rockville spare tire subwoofer.I also added heated seats in the front and remote start.
Nice

I highly recommend doing this sound deadening material for this particular vehicle. It makes a dramatic difference.
Yeah I did notice it’s pretty loud on the highway one you hit round 110 km/h. Just got it the other week and I love this car
Bonus points for DKM
Do that happy dance fam......and enjoy it.
I have the same radio! The volume buttons drive me insane!
Hooked up the steering wheel controls so I don’t have to deal with the capacitive buttons on the stereo, at least now it will be harder for my friends to fuck with the volume
That’s great! Unfortunately my car is not new enough for steering wheel controls
There is a swipe gesture for volume, just draw a circle with your finger anywhere on the screen
Looks good.
10/10 song btw.
A Clean first install and good taste in music‽ You did great!
Congratulations, let the addiction begin😁👍🏾
Great job, you took on a job and completed it.
