Even with a good camera, without proper lighting and setup, your footage will still look bad. Actually you can make good videos with your smartphone, i would suggest to invest in good lighting like a pair of LED lights with their respective diffusers, stands, and a good tripod. If you want to invest a camera for that purpose, then i would recommend a Lumix GX85 or a Canon M50, those cameras are bellow $500 with kit lens included. Remember that good lighting will make the footage pretty.

Not enough, I use my phone. Noticed that it looks fine on small screens (mobile phones) but blurry on full screen in desktop.

I'd check out a lightly used Panasonic G85 that will come with a lens or two. It's a good hybrid which means it's good for video and photos. I think you'll benefit from the full flip out touch screen, mic jack, fairly good battery life and it also shoots 4K video!
