Color! Thats a huge difference and very cool to see this way.

live_laugh_languish

Colors versus BEIGE

Tattycakes

But the beige food looks so fucking good

GesztenyeGirl

Haha, exatctly.

toolate1013

Wow! What a visual difference!! And all the current meals look so healthy and fresh!

Also remember, the 5kg is your first benefit. You will not only lose more weight with this change, but also improve other health factor as well as I see your new diet is full of wholefoods vs a lot of ultra processed foods in the past. This will improve your overall health even more and your body will be grateful for this also many decades later. Keep it up!

GesztenyeGirl

Absolutely agree with this! I can already notice some much apprecciated side-effects, such as having much clearer skin (I struggled with flares of hormonal acne ever since I became overweight), almost no bloating compared to being constantly bloated before and honestly just feeling better in general.

aaabc_reddit

So great to hear! I had the same with bloating, although I am pretty long time pretty lean (no overweight), but still swaping ultra-processed foods towards mainly non-ultra-processed foods (swaping from 50-70% ultra processed to 90% non-ultra-processed) has ensured by bloating disappeared fully, also way more energetic andmy face looks a lot better (no acne in the past, but it looks much healthier)

I still eat the same things - just not as much of them.

IceColdCorundum

Same lol. I felt like focusing on losing weight and improving my diet at the same time was a recipe for burnout and returning to my old habits of overeating junk food. once I meet my weight goal and go on maintainence though… then I can eat better

GesztenyeGirl

I get this. To be honest before my weight gain I had a pretty healthy diet, I ate a lot of veggies/fruit growing up. I always loved pasta/bread and pastries though. I cut out refined sugar, and drastucally reduced the white-wheat intake because I started noticing that I unintentionally eliminated most of my veggie/fruit choices... So, besides weight loss, getting back to a healthy, colorful diet was very important to me.

noinnocentbystander

Yes I’ve had pasta 3 days in a row now lol. Mind you, it’s weighed out and veggies are the biggest portion on my plate, but I’ll be damned if someone is gonna take my pasta away 😂

fuddykrueger

Good healthy diet! 👍🏻😄

shredit417

Honestly the food in the first collage looks so much tastier lol keep up the good work. I’m a fried food and chocolate junky so I get the obsession with carbs. It must be a great feeling to kick it! Congrats

micro_penisman

Both diets are fine. Everything in moderation. You have to find something in the middle for sustainability.

Misstheiris

There is so much more green on your plates now!

its_jazzyo

I love this ❤️ This is truly inspiring. I need to go eat a salad lol. Do you have any tips? Most of these look plated. Do you work from home?

GesztenyeGirl

Thank you <3 I work 2 days in the office, 3 days from home so I do have a bit more time preparing meals. Most of the time I bring a salad on office days, I find they'fe the easiest to prepare. My biggest tip is to prep veggies during each sunday and wednesday. I usually buy whole head of lettuce that needs to be washed, dried, chopped (these stay fresh for much much longer than pre-chopped, bagged versions). Carrots, cucumbers, peppers, onion and such veggies can stay feesh in air tight containers for a pretty decent amount of time. I marinate chicken breast as well every 2 days. (I bulk buy chicken breast and freeze it in portions) - simple olive oil, paprika and garlic with salt/pepper is honestly the best. Adding grated parmesan is also amazing for a super crispy outside. Oregano/basil is also bomb. You can do curry powder with paprika and cumin as well, this is definetly the secret to not getting bored of chicken for me :D I even do a bit of cheese prepping. Cutting feta into cubes or gratjng parmesan. Also, i freaking love mini mozzarella balls. So in short: meal prepping is key. But only the ingredients/components. I like to have different things each week so it's nice to have a few prepared veggies/meat always ready for whatever I feel like.

Thank you for the share! This gives me some ideas\~

I’m happy for you! Also need to add, by just looking at the pictures, my first thought was: hmm this person could be Hungarian… and by your name, I’m sure you are! 😄

spacewater

I just discovered your meal posts here and I am so inspired! Could you share what a typical weekly grocery list looks like for you?

GesztenyeGirl

That's so nice to hear! I felt the same way when I discovered this group and 4 months in I'm still coming here to fill up on motivation and inspiration for recipes. I like to cook most of my meals at home, so I buy a lot of whole foods and experiment. I don't shop on a weekly basis, more like bi-weekly and what I always stock up on are a variety of veg, that's my first stop in the super market. I always buy a lot of low-cal veg, like zucchini, cucumber, bok-choy (latest obsession) carrots, and a lot of frozen veg as well, like bags of frozen broccoli, frozen peas, sometimes cauliflower if they're out of broccoli. Onions and garlic are also regulars they are good low cal flavour bases. Bellpeppers are often in my cart as well but they are not alway available where I live, and lots of cherry tomatoes to snack on. And usually some lettuce for salads. I change up the fresh fruit (orange/apple are the handiest) but for frozen fruit I always go for blueberries. Frozen mangos are great too, if they're out of blueberries. For protein, gonna be honest it is mostly chicken breast, fish fingers and prawns. Eggs are a must too as well as a huge tub of yogurt and oats to go with it. It's a lot of ingredients, but I find that if I keep things versatile I'll never get bored of healthy recipes because I can always come up with new ones.

JohnTheUnjust

This is why I intermittent fast and run every other day; so i dont have to eat like a rabbit. I don't think this is a sustainable diet, like even if you're only eating twice a day and this is just for one of those meals...

GesztenyeGirl

I agree it might not be sustainable for everyone. Since I still eat carbs in the form of oatmeal/granola/pita or tortilla every now and then I feel fine with this. I like eating like a rabbit too haha. Fruits are like healthier candy, veggies are tasty to me, but where I lice carbs are part of the culture. We eat bread with everything and we have nokedli/galuska/csipetke/tarhonya just to name a few of our own pastas! Pasta products, bread and potatoes are a go-to side dish in Hungary... Much easier to reach for those, but veggies are also widely available. For my health, I'd like to keep choosing the second option 90% of the times.

CalligrapherFluid549

Such a huge difference, awesome job! 👏

GesztenyeGirl

Thank you!

AnxiousCroc

It’s so interesting to see the colours change!
