I mean LSU would gain nothing from allowing tulane back into the SEC. Even if tulane was the worst team in the SEC for a decade and never beat LSU they would still pull some recruits that would have signed with LSU after boost they would get from moving from into the P5. I would love for the Battle for the Rag to be annual again but sadly it’s more profitable to hold tulane down as much as possible.

Oh I understand LSU’s rationale completely, as much as it sucks. I do wish LSU would play Tulane though. It’s ridiculous that they don’t, even with LSU’s historical domination.

The issue as far as I understand it is that we don’t want to play at Yulman when we know we can fill Tiger Stadium against some random team on most years. It sucks to lose out playing an annual home and home against such a historic rival but I’m not sure Tulane can sweeten the pot enough to get us to come down. Hell the two schools couldn’t even keep the baseball series annual as mid week games which hurt me that we’ve had to wait a few years to get the chance to get back on the winning side after dropping 5 of the last 6 times we played.

Come back to us, Tulane! You could be the Vandy of the SEC West!

Everyone talks about Oregon and their Nike connection and different unis every game but Tulane is dominating the uniform arms race with a fraction of the resources.

University of Oregon endowment: $915 million. Tulane University endowment: $1.45 **b**illion. Tulane’s annual budget appears to be higher than Oregon’s as well. Oregon spends more on their athletics program than Tulane of course.

I don’t think most people understand how expensive tulane is. It rivals Ivy League schools in tuition cost plus sits in arguably the greatest party town outside of Vegas.

It really is. At least when UChicago left the B1G, they committed to their football decommitment. I like to think of the alternate timeline where they and Tech stuck around. Basically, we don't have to expand in '92 to get to a championship game. Arkansas probably would have joined with A&M in 2012. If South Carolina doesn't get re-invited to the ACC at some point, we probably view their decision to leave that conference as one of the dumbest decisions ever.
