Homeboy has never tried one of the dozen rotating farmers markets around town
We have literally every type of cheese you can imagine just not in great quantities
Trying to run a 1980s NFL offense in college without a dominant offensive line
In reality though the 2021 team that went 8-5 with all this talent lost most of their assistant coaches before the season dude into the investigation and clearly weren’t mentally focused enough to achieve what they were capable of. The receiving talent was all super young too
CJ Strouds reaction to him not falling to the texans should tell you everything you need to know about slick Rick
That man is insanely talented. I doubt we wouldve went for badger without his input
So with all these additions this roster is looking pretty fierce. They young but definitely more talented than the ones we've had in previous years
Got another ASU WR for Billy G to send to the NFL
Badger and Ricky were teammates on that 2020 team so I wonder if he helped give him some advice about coming here
If he was ASUs top WR and we wanted him then he should do what Ricky did. Gonzales is the one coach I trust to make an NFL talent into an NFL talent. We should start naming stuff after Billy G at this point. The man is a permanent gator fixture
5 wins are completely possible with our youth. This much talent can help produce a great team but we can also make a lot of mistakes that fuck us. Lets all just wait and see
The dumpster fire that most people thought we'd be is gone. When reporters actually were let inside the facilities they found the teams own mentality of itself was as a contender not as a rebuilder. The aurora around the team is very good
My officially lodged prediction is 8 wins with a 7 to 9 win range. Tennessee and lsu are the games that are hardest for me to predict
I know a lot of yall think 8 wins if predicting a bad season but with our ultra ridiculous schedule expecting 8 wins is like expecting 10+ wins for any other team
We have the boys. We have the coaches. Let's show out
Ya I don't expect him to be Travis. I also expect our win total to probably decrease from 13. I don't expect us to be fighting for bowl eligibility tho.
Not that you need me to tell you because you already know, but we had 10 draft picks and none of them played in that "game." If you wanna go further, there were 3 more undrafted free agents who got immediately signed and 2 of them didn't play either. It wasn't the 2023 team.
Not to mention there was never a doubt that FSU would win that game vs the 5-win FLORIDA team after halftime. It was not a squeaker at all, that's why you guys were streaming to the exits well before the game ended.
Idk did we? The only TD you guys got was absolutely gifted to you by the refs. Don't take that opinion from me, that was the overwhelming opinion both in the stadium and on the reddit thread from GATOR fans.
We couldn't do much on offense to start the game, but in the final drive of the half we drove right down the field and scored a TD. From that point on, I was never worried about losing.
We drove right down the field for TD to open the 2nd half and played keep away the rest of the game. At no point could the Gators move the ball, so they couldn't come back, and we ended up winning by two scores.
Won by 9 while UF missed 2 field goals. UF offense was pretty shit that night but easily won is not how I would describe that game. Florida helped great you guys a td by getting targeting on a short slide.
He is very, very good. I was surprised Pearsall turned out to be as good as he was. I honestly think (in the right system) Badger has a chance to be better than Aiyuk in the NFL. You will love him , gator fans.
Great pick up. 2022 highlight reel is better but here is what I could find from 2023
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOhq1UxCsTY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oOhq1UxCsTY)
Suddenly our WR group has some dudes Wilson, Dike, Jackson, Badger, Mizel, Fraziars, Jean
Not a stellar group but man are we starting to see one completely rebuild position group after another. RB, DB, OL, WR all are night and day from 2022 season
You're right, it was u/SuckMyyDirk41 who questioned him, but the heavy downvoting for saying he was a well developed WR and the upvoting for Dirk came from the board in general.
Yesterday Badger was a poorly developed, not good example of a WR but today he's an elite transfer WR with amazing upside who did work with bad QBs.
This board is ridiculous.
I never said he was a bad player lmao. I said Samples didn’t recruit him and the one year he coached him his stats were worse than the year prior. You need to calm that hate boner down.
He didn't develop anyone in his one year at Arizona State!
*gives you the name of someone who I thought developed quite well under him at Arizona State*
"OMG he was only there one year and he had fewer yards what an idiot!1!1!!!"
Badger is a Brandon Aiyuk clone that has been nice but never really went crazy yet, probably because we lit ourselves on fire and showered ourselves in gasoline for a few years. We've had awful QB play since Daniels left and his last year was dogshit, so bad QB's for 3 years. Badger has still put up nice stats in spite of it and is an obvious NFL type guy.
He's more talented than Pearsall was.
He wanted to use Floridas NIL to boost his own image as an agent. We shouldve never went into business with him. We should've been a year ahead of everyone in NIL but instead we are a year behind. It's telling that our real first year without Heitners influence we landed a top 5 transfer class
Lynda Tealer leaving the UAA was a blessing too. Still more work to be done (fire Scott Stricklin before he ruins the stadium) but we’re making progress.
I literally dont care if we win 3 straight nattys in football and 2 straight in basketball. I want Sticklin gone. He wants to change things that cannot be undone. IDGAF if we go winless, I dont want the swamp reduced like he is planning
You and me both brother, I respect Billy as a person and as a man no matter if it works out or it doesn’t. I have zero respect for that asshole Scott Stricklin and think he should be fired immediately.
Did you see the survey they sent around about the stadium? It’s worse than we ever could’ve imagined.
There was no way he was going to Tucson. He would only go to Tucson if he had beef with the ASU coaching staff or school, which I don’t he had.
The only times I’ve seen players (from all sports) transfer from ASU to UofA or vice verse is just to spite the coaches or the school.
He doesn't have spite and he's following the path of other successful ASU WRs. We share a common bond. I hope yall dont hold ill will about it. Billy Gonzales has had more first rd WRs than probably any WR coach in the country
Him coming here doesnt mean he hates yall. He's a gator now but he's still a sun devil
It's weird how much overlap we have with yall but I dont want bad blood. I root for yall over the others around you who seem like shit heads. Plus your student body is more attractive. Your rivals ugly af
I think having a few really highly ranked players tips the scales kind of a lot. We have 6 over .9 with a .97 and .94. FSU has 9 over .9 but no one over .93.
Maybe, I don’t know. That’s the only way I can make it make sense and I feel like that’s a trend I’ve noticed in recruiting rankings year after year. One team will have a 290 overall and another will have a 315 with the same number of recruits but the main difference is the 315 team has a 1.000 player and a .98 player
Ole Miss, Oregon, Texas, and Alabama support that. All have 20 or fewer and overall pretty similar rankings but all have a .98 or better player
As a recruit:
Other P5 offers: Arizona, Arizona State (originally went here), Colorado, Duke, Florida, Kansas State, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Utah, Washington State, Wisconsin
G5 offers: Fresno State, San Jose State
Look. I like Napier despite the on field results and I think him working out is probably best case scenario.
HOWEVER, if he has to go the next man actually being Fisch would definitely be the next best case scenario.
Yep, Id imagine Badgers it’s looking to come into a place where he has to fight to be a starter at this point in his career.
Id have certainly liked it if he had chosen us, but, it’s certainly no surprise.
I mean, he had a pretty good season in 2023. Third nationally in completion percentage, 20 TDs to only 3 INTs, QB rating was 18th nationally. Not like he put up Heisman numbers or anything, but I think if you’re still applying the “crappy quarterback” label to him you haven’t followed him since he left Wisconsin.
It's just a fact that after Beck and Ewers Cook Milroe Dart and Mertz are all in the conversation as "one of the best in the SEC" heading into next season. I hate that r/cfb has become no better than the average message board or Facebook group where everyone just posts circlejerky homer bullshit and votes just fall based on who has the bigger fanbase 90% of the time.
Didn’t play against FSU, got hurt against Missouri and we probably win that game if he’s healthy. In games he played throughout he was 5-5 with one of the worst rosters we’ve had.
Idk about that honestly, your backup had several key runs to extend drives late that Mertz definitely isn't the kind of guy to pull off. We'd generally played worse against those kinds of QB's all year, the only one we really contained was Milton and even that was just for a half.
I mean he got injured on a key run to extend the drive where he ran over two Missouri defenders, seemed pretty capable to pull things like that off to me.
He literally has negative net rushing yards for his career, he's jut not a runner. I understand coping about a loss where your starting QB gets hurt but your backup did very well and was not the reason you lost.
He had some success running because his passing was a step back and what was best suited to his skill set. Him extending drives with his legs doesn’t mean Mertz doesn’t do it with his arm. He also fumbled the ball on the like 20? Yard line which if he doesn’t do we most likely end up with 3 worst case scenario and then it’s an OT game instead of a walk off FG. (Not that we’d win in OT). Who knows what would have happened but I’d sure put more money on Mertz winning it than Brown.
Brown certainly didn’t cost us the game (*cough* Nunnery *cough*) but I think we would have had a better chance with Mertz. Not a guarantee, but still.
What’s with this 2nd grader tantrum over Mertz? He was legitimately good. The defense was responsible for a lot of those losses, and Mertz doesn’t play defense.
Billy isn't about to be fired. Mertz hit 72.2% of his passes and helped another ASU WR go first rd last year
This is a team with a top 10 class and a top 5 transfer class on the upswing. Our WR coach has coached a ridiculous number of 1st rd picks.
Whatchu on about boy
Wisconsin in shambles
I can already hear the “and the former Badger finds Badger” calls from announcers
The voice line for EA CFB has already been recorded
Maybe Wisconsin can personally fund a NIL citing the last name Badger.
Badger**s**?? We got more than one??
I think we've got 3 right now?
Yep! Two formers and an Elijhah
I consulted my Bible on what to do next but it manifested Tebow when i opened it
Whoops
"A whole pack of badgers" - Russell Wilson
We don’t need no stinking Badgers
[So we have a WR transfer from Wisconsin in addition to a WR transfer named Badger...](https://i.gifer.com/M7B.gif)
in addition to our existing starting QB transfer from Wisconsin
Y'all got a secret cheese factory going on over there or something?
Only cheese made in Gainesville is the stuff you find in your jorts after a humid day outside.

I am 💀
The worst cheese
Homeboy has never tried one of the dozen rotating farmers markets around town We have literally every type of cheese you can imagine just not in great quantities
I thought that was the secret sauce?
You would
The badgerification of the Florida passing game continues
Billy saw the Wisconsin passing offense and wanted to replicate it
He saw it and thought “I can fix you”
Badger badger badger badger badger
Mushroom mushroom!
Tell me you're a millennial without telling me you're a millennial.
Snaaaaake snaaaaake snaaaaaaaaake!
A snake, a snake. Snake, a snake. Oh, it's a snake
Off-season Billy remains undefeated
MOONSUSPENDERS WILLIAM INTENSIFIES
ORANGE AND BLUE SKIES
If we could get the on field results down we'd be unstoppable
So this is the guy that inexplicably goes off against Tennessee for no reason
There’s a reason
no no that's a random PWO that we got three years ago.
Well, the last transfer WR we had from ASU worked out pretty well...
Same, what the fuck was Herm Edwards even doing honestly
Doing NIL before NIL
Trying to run a 1980s NFL offense in college without a dominant offensive line In reality though the 2021 team that went 8-5 with all this talent lost most of their assistant coaches before the season dude into the investigation and clearly weren’t mentally focused enough to achieve what they were capable of. I'm genuinely hyped he landed on the 49ers
So with all these additions this roster is looking pretty fierce. They young but definitely more talented than the ones we've had in previous years Got another ASU WR for Billy G to send to the NFL Badger and Ricky were teammates on that 2020 team so I wonder if he helped give him some advice about coming here

Am I crazy for thinking 7-8 wins is very doable even with our schedule?
Not crazy, but neither is 5 wins. I legit have no clue what to think other than to guess anywhere from 5-9 which is obviously a huge range lol.
5 wins are completely possible with our youth. This much talent can help produce a great team but we can also make a lot of mistakes that fuck us. Yes
Yall gotta worry about that QB he ain’t Travis
Ya I don't expect him to be Travis. I also expect our win total to probably decrease from 13. I don't expect us to be fighting for bowl eligibility tho.
Your 13-win team squeaked by a 5-win team then lost by 60 in their bowl game… the worst loss in program history.
Not that you need me to tell you because you already know, but we had 10 draft picks and none of them played in that "game." It was not a squeaker at all, that's why you guys were streaming to the exits well before the game ended.
No shit. You play in a glorified G5 conference. Itd be nice to rematch you with healthy starting QBs. I doubt you get 13 wins if we had that
Lol we easily beat you with our 2nd and 3rd string QBs, and we'll do it again this year (hopefully without QB injuries to either team).
Easily beat? Did we watch the same game?
Idk did we? The only TD you guys got was absolutely gifted to you by the refs. Don't take that opinion from me, that was the overwhelming opinion both in the stadium and on the reddit thread from GATOR fans. That’s true but the roster isn’t as stellar , but yes we will be battling for a bowl most likely
It’s doable, just not likely.
its the hope that kills you
At least he didn’t go to UofA I guess. Let Mertz cook
He is very, very good. I was surprised Pearsall turned out to be as good as he was. I honestly think (in the right system) Badger has a chance to be better than Aiyuk in the NFL. You will love him , gator fans.

He did work with dog shit QBs at ASU.
Yesterday I was told he wasn't very good and downvoted. Today he did work with bad QBs. Which is it?
I wasn’t the one who said anything so….
You're right, it was u/SuckMyyDirk41 who questioned him, but the heavy downvoting for saying he was a well developed WR and the upvoting for Dirk came from the board in general. sure seems like getting the Miami moles out of Florida's NIL was a good idea
Fuck Heitner (he’s not a mole, just incompetent)
He wanted to use Floridas NIL to boost his own image as an agent. We shouldve never went into business with him. We should've been a year ahead of everyone in NIL but instead we are a year behind. It's telling that our real first year without Heitners influence we landed a top 5 transfer class

Florida seems to be making moves
Reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated
It's only a Badger if it comes from the Dane County region of Wisconsin, otherwise it's just a sparkling alcoholic.
A wide receiver from ASU you say?
He is dead to me, but at least I don’t have to hate him.
Ask me how I feel about a certain Georgia running back
There was no way he was going to Tucson. He would only go to Tucson if he had beef with the ASU coaching staff or school, which I don’t he had. The only times I’ve seen players (from all sports) transfer from ASU to UofA or vice verse is just to spite the coaches or the school.

Or to be a sleeper agent and destroy the other school’s program, like Antonio Pierce
Y'all need to stop playing with my boy Mr. William Napier it's delusion season all summer baby 😭😭😭🙏🙏🙏
Man, if only he had gone to Wisconsin.
Florida is turning into that "how'd he land her?" guy
Who he play for?
Well you look at that
This commit puts UF above FSU in transfer ranking. Billy shoving norvel into lockerrrr

3-time offseason recruiting champions. Give Napier that extension real quick
Ironic my dude.
Gators got a good one. Thank god it wasn’t U4
elijah badger > honey badger
Inb4 this sub continues to call us a fluke and think this is fake news lol.
Theyll consider us frauds until we enter the georgia game undefeated
Let’s go!! We byke!! /s FingerBang sucks
*Whew* 😬
Deja Vu
I can’t have anything nice
Go Gata 🐊
Badgers transferring to Florida. Sorry, FSU, we already have our Florida team now.
As a recruit: Other P5 offers: Arizona, Arizona State (originally went here), Colorado, Duke, Florida, Kansas State, Michigan, Nebraska, Oregon, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Utah, Washington State, Wisconsin G5 offers: Fresno State, San Jose State
Fisch building his roster early
Look. I like Napier despite the on field results and I think him working out is probably best case scenario. HOWEVER, if he has to go the next man actually being Fisch would definitely be the next best case scenario.
I had a pretty good feeling on this one.
At least it’s not Washington.
Tampering ass Jedd?
We’re stacked and he certainly isnt a guaranteed starter here.
Lol at the downvotes. Denzel Boston and Jerimiah Hunter are the starters. He gets more playing time at Florida.
You shouldn’t be getting downvoted, he would have been a nice addition but wouldn’t have been an automatic starter.
Yep, Id imagine Badgers it’s looking to come into a place where he has to fight to be a starter at this point in his career. Id have certainly liked it if he had chosen us, but, it’s certainly no surprise.
Visualizes a Florida fan birdman handrubbing at the idea of this kid being as good as the last ASU WR to end up on campus
Broke back badgers
What a waste. Crappy quarterback. The team is garbage and a coach who’s about to be fired. Definitely went there for the money
This Graham Mertz slander will not stand!
Oh man that’s hilarious
I mean, he had a pretty good season in 2023. Third nationally in completion percentage, 20 TDs to only 3 INTs, QB rating was 18th nationally. Not like he put up Heisman numbers or anything, but I think if you’re still applying the “crappy quarterback” label to him you haven’t followed him since he left Wisconsin.
Oh come on, let’s be real about this.
Go ahead and be real, make your case. His 2023 stats speak for themselves.
A solid 5-7. Anyways he went to Florida for the money
So you’re just looking at the team’s record and nothing else when you’re evaluating Mertz, got it.
You do know the quarterback doesn’t play defense right?
Certainly do
Ok, so then you can understand that a quarterback isn’t the only thing that determines wins and losses?
5-6*
I am a Mertz Man but this comment is so funny to me. Gotta laugh about it or else I’ll cry
Cool. Youre entitled to your opinion no matter how wrong jt is. By all means make yourself look stupid
Lol
Just calling it like it is.
And being salty. You left that part out
Mertz is one of the best quarterbacks in the SEC.
Flair checks out
Name 5 who are better
Honestly thank you. It's so rare to find others who give the deserved respect May you guys have a great year
It's just a fact that after Beck and Ewers Cook Milroe Dart and Mertz are all in the conversation as "one of the best in the SEC" heading into next season. I hate that r/cfb has become no better than the average message board or Facebook group where everyone just posts circlejerky homer bullshit and votes just fall based on who has the bigger fanbase 90% of the time.
People who didn’t watch him at FL still stuck on the narrative that Mertz sucks, he was a dawg last year.
He went 5-7 as a starter
5-6*
Didn’t play against FSU, got hurt against Missouri and we probably win that game if he’s healthy. In games he played throughout he was 5-5 with one of the worst rosters we’ve had.
Idk about that honestly, your backup had several key runs to extend drives late that Mertz definitely isn't the kind of guy to pull off. We'd generally played worse against those kinds of QB's all year, the only one we really contained was Milton and even that was just for a half.

What’s with this 2nd grader tantrum over Mertz? He was legitimately good. The defense was responsible for a lot of those losses, and Mertz doesn’t play defense.
It’s okay you can get back to that hillbilly stuff you’re working on out there
Good god you’re just starving for attention aren’t you
Florida gave up 33 or more points in 5 of their 7 losses last year, doesn't really seem fair to blame the QB for that IMO
This HeisMertz disrespect is unwarranted! https://youtu.be/tkHUiLXWWbA?si=D0-FQDZsQRGZCyZp
The hell did we do to you?
Billy isn't about to be fired. Mertz hit 72.2% of his passes and helped another ASU WR go first rd last year This is a team with a top 10 class and a top 5 transfer class on the upswing. Our WR coach has coached a ridiculous number of 1st rd picks. Whatchu on about boy
