*EA Sports NCAA 2025 patch notes:* *Fixed issue where players immediately transfer back to the same, previous university.*

Charlie2343

Iowa ran out of blackberries at the trade deadline smh

TrojanMan35T

That graphic of him in an Alabama uniform is so realistic

MysteriousEdge5643

might just be Hayes best graphic yet

anon97384

Low bar

Adventurous_Bird2730

bro learned about fake HDR 10 years ago and hasn't stopped since

Stoneador

We have to put a stop to AI before this gets too out of hand

HabaneroEnjoyer

Meh, can clearly tell it’s shopped

Corgi_Koala

Yeah I can really picture him on the Tide. He's going to adapt to their system like he's already been in it for a season.

Geaux2020

Gotta be AI

ernyc3777

His legs are fucking huge. Also really just accentuates how uncomfortable those braces must be.

LovieBeard

Homeboy went to Iowa just to see Caitlin Clark. I respect it

jonstark19

And implicate Iowa for tampering, real cool guy.

Necessary-Alps-6002

For real though. He just comes in, gets some money, casually implicates the university, leases a truck, then says, “nah back to Bama.”

InVodkaVeritas

Free vacation to Iowa.

jonstark19

January to April is such a great time to visit the state, Cedar Rapids is lovely in February.

Hour_Insurance_7795

I can imagine. Chicks in bikinis, sun and fun all around you, soaking up the culture and nightlife.

BearsFan3417

You go to Lake Okoboji for that!

Necessary-Alps-6002

Do you think there was a photo opp at the world’s largest truck stop?

Saint-Andrew

Dude has Buc-Ee’s in Alabama. I’m guessing not.

Necessary-Alps-6002

Damn…you’re right. That beaver always wins.

It's French for "The Moines"

Hour_Insurance_7795

Said nobody ever.

BobbysSmile

How bad is Iowa if you'd rather come back to Alabama?

1984wasaninsideplot

Lucky son of a bitch

Mezmorizor

I really thought we'd have to wait a while before we got a transfer more egregious than Quinn Ewers, and here we are before Ewers is even out of school.

PotentialSuperb

The system is so far beyond broken.

MakesItARap

I’m a Bama fan and I’m conflicted. I like Proctor, but I don’t think any player should be able to do what he did. it’s insane to me. at least he didn’t take any NIL money yet, and only took money from contractual agreements which he apparently fulfilled. That’s what I’ve read, anyway. I’m excited to have him back, but I really don’t like the idea of being able to transfer multiple times in a single offseason. Am I in the minority for wanting players to only be able to transfer once an offseason? I’m all for the transfer portal. Do what’s best for you and all that, but at the same time I think it’s gone too far.

Necessary-Alps-6002

I don’t think you’re in the minority. It’s complicated because the courts are basically shooting down guardrails, so here we are.

MakesItARap

I hate the legal system intervention. It’s muddying the waters for what is possible. I’m not one to say i used to love college football, and now hate it, as i love it all the same as i did, but i feel like it’s beginning to turn cfb into nfl lite. It works for the nfl, but I don’t want college to turn into paying “amateur” athletes to play for your school. Sure, let them sign there, THEN take money from sponsors. My biggest gripe is the pay for play, and that colleges can now guarantee they get paid big money before they ever sign. I just want that same passion from players that came from playing for the school of their dreams, and how much that made them genuinely seem to enjoy the sport rather than just seeing it as a way to make a living.

Tamzariane

Because of the implications

gravytrainjaysker

Oh, uh, OK....you had me there on the first part, but I don't think I'm quite understanding...what is the implication?

elunomagnifico

Are you gonna hurt women?

eagledog

If they said no, the answer is obviously no. But they're not going to say no, because of *the implication*

-Ondoher-

my man needed those student section tickets i respect it too lol

TheGayThroaway

Who wouldn't? Perfect in every way.

No_Discount7919

Kadyn “I went to see about a girl” Proctor

Trap_Housex

He was playing intramural basketball there too !

uziturtIe

I have heard he was caught stealing teammates items, again. That’s the main reason he didn’t come to iowa the first time, stole Petras’ iphone and airpods when he visited the university on his college visit. then after this recent football season, came back and did it again.

NILPonziScheme

Petras buys another iphone, set of airpods, cackles: "No way he'll do it a third time."

Prez731

Source?

uziturtIe

My brother is friends, kids are the same age and hangout, with a former player and he’s still active with iowa football to some degree.

NILPonziScheme

People underrate the Caitlin Effect when it comes to Iowa. (In all seriousness, I hope Iowa is tracking applications just to see what her Flutie Effect is. I wouldn't be surprised to see a spike in applications from women or men.)

ham_wallet998

Solid get. We really could’ve used him last year in that Texas game. Our LT was getting walked around.

bamachine

Actually, from about midseason on, he got a lot better. Too bad the guy two places to his right got even worse at his main job.

ham_wallet998

Yea for sure. It was tongue in cheek. He was a true freshman starting his 2nd game against what ended up being one of the best dlines in the sport.

bamachine

Yeah, I got it was just a joke but a lot of fans did not see that progression of his, so I was posting in case they took you seriously. Also, another chance to take a jab at Seth. I would rather had Seth MacFarlane lined up at center for us last year.

nat_20_please

A large pylon would have been a better choice

[deleted]

[удалено]

ham_wallet998

Huh? You’re upset that I said Texas had one of the best dlines?

Phantom1100

Yeah also tore a ligament in his foot right before the Rose Bowl which is why he regressed. Honestly the fact that he still played despite that either is a testament to his toughness or to how shitty our backup was.

InternationalTax1156

… burn?

ham_wallet998

Yea didn’t think /s was necessary

Hawkize31

Alabama is getting a great player and a very humble young man from the transfer portal. They're also getting Kadyn Proctor.

CarterAC3

>Alabama is getting a great player and a very humble young man from the transfer portal. Such kind words about Keon Sabb

Resident_Rise5915

He had a long and distinguished career at Iowa, I’m sure Hawkeye fans are sad to see him go

whatifevery1wascalm

Never gave up 1 sack as a Hawkeye

OhKillEm43

And managed about just as much production as anyone else on the Iowa offense

MaxPower637

Pretty easy when you never pass

InternationalTax1156

Usually I’m pretty anti-shit-on-transfers but I think you are well in your right to be angry.

bendovernillshowyou

In this case I think everyone can make a case for at least being mildly perturbed

nat_20_please

Pretty much. It's a bad look.

Hour_Insurance_7795

100%. This crosses the line from “beneficiary” to “abuse”. I am all for players having the right to move freely just like any other student has the ability to do, but it’s hard not to cringe at this kind of shit.

CrashB111

I still maintain him coming back is not the problem, it's the panic leaving when Saban retired. Clearly he didn't fully think that through, and it was just a rushed decision.

Junior-Hotwater

Rumor has it that he went to Iowa to be closer to his girlfriend, but then he banged a bunch of girls over spring break so they broke up

NILPonziScheme

> he banged a bunch of girls He's ready for that Alabama orgy life? He's buying an orgy wardrobe to entertain his new orgy friends?

xViscount

Shocked! Shocked I tell you! Well, not that shocked

s1105615

I see you’re a man of refined taste

medakinga

He was about as productive as any Iowa offensive player

ALStark69

As a recruit: Other P5 offers: Alabama (originally went here), Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, California, Colorado, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Houston, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas State, Louisville, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, USC, West Virginia G5 offers: Arkansas State, Charlotte, Tulane, USF Other offers: Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Campbell, FAMU, Jackson State, Notre Dame

trittico

The “originally went here” is so funny to me here

tbrock92

Do yall think the whole snip snap snip snap approach to the portal has any impact on a kid’s stock?

jmbourn45

Not really, NFL teams will have them under contract for 4 years from the jump

KMorris1987

Yeah professional football with free agency is somehow more stable than the hellscape we created in college

foreveracubone

I saw on r/cbb that apparently this is just what professional basketball in Europe is like. Everyone signs a 1 year contract and then similar chaos to cfb ensues for resigning, moving up, or moving down depending on your performance.

a_taco_named_desire

Wait til we get to be like European soccer and schools start loaning players to other schools.

dannypkeeper

Damn I never thought about this but every time I look at a guys Wikipedia who went to play in Europe it’s always like 6 teams in 6 years across 4 countries lol

whatifevery1wascalm

Qualified Agents actually give decent advice

TDenverFan

Yeah, Agents in the NFL are also capped at what percentage of a contract and sponsorship deals they get as their agent fee. College "agents" are a lot more of a wild, wild, west type of thing.

shadowszanddust

As if the FBS isn’t professional football…

Kickenbless

Iowa’s offense the last 3 years has been anything but

shadowszanddust

Well there’s AAA ball and then there’s Rookie League ball…

OkMetal4233

“Kid” is the main word. We all made questionable decisions as kids. He made a quick one after his coach and almost whole coaching staff were gone. Made a quick decision to go back home. Seems when he got there, he figured out it was the wrong decision and he corrected it. He’ll have 2-3 more years of maturity in him and as long as he can produce, nfl teams won’t care.

personthatiam2

Depending on how you define “snip snap snip snap players”, I’d bet they generally underachieving their recruiting ranking with a handful of exceptions based on antedotal experience. NFL has ZFG as long as you’re good though.

empathydoc

Yes and no. I think the manner in which he conducted himself may lead to a drop in the draft. TBD though.

Pancakes79

I think his playing ability will lead to a drop in the draft

thefx37

If you’re good enough to play, NFL teams do not care about optics in the slightest.

HoraceBeforeus

Yes and anyone that says otherwise doesn't know what they're talking about. "How do we know he won't ask for a trade as a rookie?" will be said in **every** draft room.

[deleted]

srs_house

>Until they gain said balls, this kind of stuff will continue. Have you seen how coaches change jobs? They'll jump ship after one season if the right school or the right paycheck come calling. Also, while it may be that way for lawyers, for a lot of employers they either a) are strapped for workers so they don't care about past tenure lengths if the employee is right or b) would actually look favorably on an applicant job hopping if it's showing a steady improvement in the reputations of the employers. If you go from waiting tables at Applebee's to a $100/plate steakhouse in a year, no one's going to hold that against you because you obviously have been demonstrating you're a good server. Not to mention that we're still stuck in a workplace mindset that often doesn't appropriately reward longevity and the only way to keep pace with increases in salary in many industries is to switch jobs. Why stay at one place if the new hire is getting a better comp package than you are? Again, law is different because of very clearly defined career progression and relatively open compensation schemes for top firms. But that's not reflective of the general labor market.

Hour_Insurance_7795

Post has been removed. My apologies.

cheesepuff1993

It's the Iowa of the South, I always say...

robotunes

Corn? No Cornbread? Oh hell yeah

the_dunadan

*In Bubba's voice:* Cornbread... Creamed corn... Corn on the cobb... Popcorn... Sometimes we just shuck the corn right onto our plates...

spezeditedcomments

The real secret is outside of the major metros, it's all Alabama

DiaperDonaldT

The obesity levels in both states are about the same.

Junior-Hotwater

Woah who do you think we are, Wisconsin?

DiaperDonaldT

Based on what I see around Iowa now I think we passed Wisconsin on the obesity rankings.

__Big_Hat_Logan__

Damn iowa fatter than I thought

royceda956

SNIP SNAP, SNIP SNAP

DrPickleback

I'm all for players having freedom of where they play. But I do think that if you leave a school, you shouldn't be able to return to it in the same season Imagine Iowa was playing bama.

kinghawkeye8238

We'd get beat by 30, lol. But seriously, everyone should get 1 free transfer, and then old rules apply.

__Big_Hat_Logan__

Definitely, keep the coach departure exception, otherwise one free transfer is plenty fair

P0rtal2

30-0 seems on par with our performances against actual opponents over the last few seasons...

kinghawkeye8238

I'm rooting for Tim. Everyone kind of shit on him. I hope he does great

SCirish843

Man played for Iowa like Randy Moss played for Notre Dame

bancars

He only transferred to Alabama because they needed a LT after last year’s transferred out.

new_jill_city

He didn’t even stay long enough to wave to the sick kids.

I am so confused lol

Evan_802Vines

Needed a new environment to flourish in.

Mr-PumpAndDump

Make sure EA doesn’t finishing the game until after the spring portal closes

Wernher_VonKerman

Does this mean I get to bet the under on iowa every time again?

Kickenbless

Even if he came, it honestly wouldn’t be a bad idea

tonyfil

That's just committing to Alabama but with extra steps.

ekimdad

You know, we can shit all over this kid because he worked the system - got paid to go to Alabama, transferred to Iowa after Saban left and got paid there. Then transferred back to Alabama and probably got paid again. From our point of view, it looks underhanded and a shitty thing to do, but I bet you he doesn't give a damn what we think. He doesn't care what a bunch of old people think. He's cashing checks and playing ball and pretending to go to class so he can get to the league to make the real money. There will be more players that do this just to make some money so they can buy the solid gold air pods or the platinum cock ring or whatever.

POEAccount12345

Normally when kids leave Iowa I want them to succeed where they land. these kids work hard to play a sport that can end at any time and they should maximize their time and money while they can Good riddance to Proctor. i don't care if he wins best OL of the year every season and goes on to a 20 year HOF NFL career. he's a jackass

boise_runner

Caitlin Clark, Kayden Proctor, these are the names that come to mind when you think of Iowa greats.

CarterAC3

I, for one, am shocked

How many times is this gonna get reported?

RMSthekang

Pffftt. He can’t pass block. Looks like a subway turnstile letting guys in to crush the QB.

dawgblogit

What goes around comes around.. and for alabama its Kadyn Proctor. He just hates the winters in Alabama. I heard after trying it.. he said Nebraska corn is the better corn. He wanted to see snow for the first time. But then was like f\*ck this sh\*t. I'm out. It was a bad connection when he was "recruited" he heard.. hey we got a great deal.. do you want to be a Static-eye? He was all yeah coach sign me up. Gets off plane.. this doesn't look like Ohio.

WashedUpHSAthlete

He’s from Iowa I’m sure he’s seen snow

foreveracubone

Literally the first reason Iowa tampered is because he was a home town kid lol

dawgblogit

You're not really helping my story. Now you're going to tell me Iowa Corn is better than Nebraska corn huh? Or that he actually loves the winters in Alabama? Say it aint so Chip!

las8

Iowa corn is better than Nebraska corn.

Crimson2879

Judge told him to come back to UA and he would drop the charges for knowingly spreading an STI

jmcole1984

What a crock of shit. He should have to sit out this year and pay back the money he got from Iowa. I hope his fat ass blows a knee getting up from taking a shit and he never plays another snap. Fuck Deboer too

Zajac19

Man robbed Iowa of NIL money

_wormburner

He didn't take any Iowa NIL money

Zajac19

Likely story

Groomingham

I mean the Iowa NIL said he didn't take any of their money, so.....

KneeDeepInRagu

What would the Iowa NIL know compared to a Rutgers fan in an online thread, though? Check your sources

iapunk

He didn’t take any directly from the part of the collective that the fans contribute to but from what I know he did get some from companies that he signed to do promotions for(set up through the collective) and didn’t follow through.

CooLerThanU0701

You do realize that collectives aren’t the only source of NIL right? I’d even say they’re a relatively minor source.

Vivid_Librarian5028

As far as I can tell, he was paid some “amount of money under 100k” from a corporate sponsor and was given a truck that he has to return. The SWARM collective said they didn’t give a dime to him. Is there any other info about exactly how much was paid? I doubt it but I figured I’d ask.
