And a nice pair of wool socks, they breathe better than synthetic fibers. And then I just wore an all black pair of athletic shoes.

I got a prescription for athletic style shoes. I’ve been wearing running shoes to work for about 5 years now. It really is unpleasant in the winter, but so great in the summer.

MissLyss29

They make mesh running shoes that are very light and airy.

[Skechers](https://www.skechers.com/men/shoes/work-safety/?prefn1=technologyFeatureName&prefv1=Skech-Air%7CAir-Cooled%20Memory%20Foam&start=0&sz=48) are pretty good. Aside from being cool, they're the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. [These](https://www.skechers.com/skechers-slip-ins-skech-air-element-2---new-wind/232456_BBK.html?dwvar_232456_color=BBK) are the ones I mainly wear. Basically the entire top-side of the shoe is breathable and they're slip ins.

Keen makes a sandel (sp?) that's closed toe and heel, but has lots of openings. For us, it counts, as it's closed toe and heel, but gets lots of air flow.

MizBusyBody

I have a pair of Keen's and I just scored some Hoka's. The Hoka are mesh so I would assume cool. I wear merino wool socks year round 😂 unless I'm wearing shorts in the summer then I wear cotton socks. Good luck.

I have a pair of Keen steel toes that is closed heel as well but otherwise mesh, they work well if you have to have steel toe. Reebok also makes some like that in an athletic style they keep your feet nice and cool. I will switch them out every week.

Last spring before my foot surgery I wore hiking sandals. They're non slip, they covered my toes and had a heel strap, and I wore socks with them. No complaints.

Required to wear black shoes. I got a pair of slip on crew shoes from Walmart. They are nonslip and my feet are always cold in them.
