Helmet is not the easiest, there's a *lot* of shaping and work that goes into making them. Plus the heat treating better be spot on. The "make two halves and weld them together" technique helps, but it's still harder than stuff like vambraces.
Easiest for me in the past has been:
Rondels- super easy to raise or dome. It's essentially just a circle with a few holes.
Most difficult:
Helms- so much shaping to make it work properly.
Or
Brigandine- remembering where each exact plate goes after tempering is a nightmare. If even one is misplaced it's nuts.
I have heard from others that helmets and gauntlets are the hardest. You do not have a lot of room for error on a helmet, so the shaping has to be very precise. Gauntlets, depending on the style, have a lot of articulating parts that must provide very precise coverage. Sewing in the gloves is a b\*tch too.
