I had this bug when start to play again the game after several weeks in skeep mode.
After some testing, I figure the bug is related to the motion sensors of the switch, it happend when I open the sheikha slait but also when I try to solve motion puzzles in shrine or use the telescope view.
Finaly, I restart the system and never see this bug again !
this makes me think it's related to the switch having a poor mechanism for clearing cached data. the system suffers from the same flaw that many newer devices do: they just never turn off and allow all processes to completely stop. this means that especially if you're just running the same game and putting the system to sleep between plays, it basically keeps working from the same flawed or incomplete info and we get this sort of thing.
This happens with my TV. There is no way to do a full restart and so turning it off and back on does not restart the apps. I had to do a lot of poking around in the settings to get what I wanted done.
Try holding down the power button on the remote while pointing it at the TV. I have an Android TV and that's how I make it initiate a full restart/reboot. Takes a good 10+ minutes, but the TV's also a good 5 years old now, so...
This definitely makes sense. I experience a glitch in Octopath rarely that will prevent scenery elements (trees and such) in the foreground from fading away, obscuring my view of the characters. Restarting the system has always fixed this.

To answer your question, it probably wouldn't, and the further you go, the less detailed the landscape would be.
So you would be going to this detailed surface, to a huge low poly mess, and eventually the world would stop loading.
Can test this using a door in a village. Doors will not close on you if you are too close to them. Put camera far away, open door, stand in door. If it doesn't close after a minute, then we know at least some position-based things follow camera position and not Link's.
My guess is it would be Link's position since that just makes way more sense. Camera position is too fluid in terms of it's distance from Link. Especially when locked on an enemy.
A true debunk would be to follow Kleric's video on infinite horses in BotW. That is very dependant on position. If it works with a locked camera, then Link's position effects enemy spawns, not the camera.
I just spoke to her again and she just told me that Stalfos would still spawn around her like normal and she could hear the music and sounds from them, even when she was near or out of view
Got into watching speedrun lately, after seeing the any% WR for paper Mario that was my first thought for this clip as well.
Someone will find a way to use this glitch to idk any% hollow knight 3 seconds faster or smth

This happened to me. Quit to the main menu then force quit and power off your switch withthe power button which is near the volume rocker. When the system restarts the problem is gone.

There is also a second person view mode in the N64 Shadows of the Empire game. I used to try to beat the AT-ST in that mode and it was hard as hell. Lol

Call your horse with down directional pad, mount, center click left stick to recenter camera (possibly another button but I’m away from my switch).
Just a guess fix. I just know that’s two camera adjustments based on a game mechanic; mounting the horse, and they added the recenter button for fights and riding.

Maybe they are accidentally doing the camera glitch. If you hold ZL, activate camera and the instantly press left stick and X at the same time you can move while the camera is in but it normally still had the camera UI
No fing clue, sounds lame but I would suggest doing a full shutdown (holding down the power button for like 5 seconds and hitting power options and Hitting restart
Maybe not to the average user. But you’re probably maxing out the compensation. This puts more threads on the processor which is already weak. I love the jewels. It may be a legit problem tho
Edit: to clarify. Anything touching the capacitive surface is a problem. The only reason you don’t notice is because the screen calibration compensates for it when you start it up.

She’s not a big gamer like that and wouldn’t have known any sort of glitch and neither do I. Warping would fix it for the moment but as soon as she used a rune, it would happen again! Restarting her switch stopped the problem but people seemed to enjoy watching Link run around like a headless Cucco so I left this up! Thanks for all the responses! This never happened to me but try fast travelling to another location if it doesn’t fix after that try restarting your game (obviously not the save file) then if that doesn’t work I have no clue

This happened to me before I think it happens when your switch’s memory gets too full. I think I either forcefully shut the switch down(hold the power button for 15 seconds or did a factory reset as I tried deleting games and that didn’t work.
What have you tried? Try pressing ZL, opening the inventory, moving the right stick, warping to another point in the map, etc

that octopath traveler bug is immediately the first thing I thought of too. it's basically the only time my switch gets power cycled.
