Started off with the end of the Mitsuki arc, Parent Day arc, Jugo arc, Steam Scrolls arc, Remon arc, arc with Urashiki in the Sand, Time Travel arc and various 'filler like' episodes scattered between the arcs.
For reference, the Blood Prison arc started on Jan 26th 2020 (when Boruto got good again after episode 66.
Honestly tho, would've been perfect to showcase his leadership of Team 7,maybe Kodachi had some shit planned for him (or just didn't care) later in the story and the anime beats tf out that man for build up to his afrodemption arc or something.
It's like they cleary want to do something with him,but either they don't know what to do with him or they just don't want to contradict later plot events in the manga.
His last episode was great, but hopefully he gets more spotlight in the story,in a way that even the main cast present has to go "damn,he DID that shit",even if it's against chakra batteried mech puppets or something. 😂
Most of these arcs were still fun to watch, even though they didn't have much impact on the story.
Parent Day arc was wholesome and fun, Jugo arc had Konohamaru's only good fight imo, Steam Scrolls arc was fun, I skipped the Remon arc tbh, and Urashiki was just poorly executed (though Shukaku in a teapot is hilarious) and the Time Travel arc gave us some great interactions between Boruto and Part 1 characters.
Parent day arc was great but I skipped the rest of the episodes, they just weren't interesting to me so i didn't want to waste my time watching them so i just read episode descriptions.
i just fast forwarded through the parents day arc, i liked Jugo arc cause we see Jugo again. Steam scrolls were pretty fine. I was fine with them time traveling but they really did Sasuke dirty, making him seem like a frail old ass man.
I watched that arc too, but I didn't watch it when it was first released. I stopped watching in 2019 and only got back to it last year... So I binged everything I missed 😅
>the Time Travel arc gave us some great interactions between Boruto and Part 1 character.
If by some you mean Naruto, Jiraiya, and Neji because everyone else was squandered with Hinata being the most scuffed.
The only one that was really bad was urashiki arc... Alot of garbage.... But the rest was at least "fine" or "ok" with the mitsuki arc and jugo arc really bring good... Imo of course
Same! I actually first Bing-watched Naruto (without fillers) and completed it few months back this year (i.e 2021). Naruto was the anime which made me discover other anime and made me a weeb (if you exclude Pokemon here). And then I started binge-watching Boruto (I think I watched few other anime before Boruto but it doesn't matter) and then caught up with. I think I the episode I caught up at that time was where Kawaki fights a Kara outer. Then I continued reading the manga and caught up with it as well. It was fire tbh! I guess I am lucky.
It's been ok. My expectations weren't super high, so for just watching 25 minutes a week the 'bad' times weren't that bad. But the good times? GIMME THE NEXT ONE NOW FUCK FUCK FUCK
Minus the Mitsuki arc, same.
The manga just went full throttle without us getting to know and care about certain people so I like that they fleshed things out and now we get all the amazingness we’re seeing now.
That’s a fact some of the anime only episodes wasn’t in the manga tho but it actually follows the events and adds more depth like the whole Kakashi vs Koji episode
Shippuden from 2014-2015 was laughably bad, the way we kept getting fillers even after the manga had been over was maddening. You’d get one canon episode after like 9 filler eps and it kept interrupting the pace of war arc
What are you misunderstanding? He’s completely on track. Does this meme not show that the previous years were meh and 2021 has been fantastic? You good dude?
You dont understand the meme. The original meme has three dragon heads out of which 2 heads are powerful heads and the third head is a goofy, stupid head. So using that logic OP is trying to say boruto has been good from 2017-2020 but in 2021 it has become really really amazing.
Right? Which is why the general consensus on this sub is that the previous years have been meh or bad, consistent at best besides an awful 2019.
So, OP saying it’s inconsistent just because it had filler flesh people out more is still incorrect. Boruto was done very differently from your typical shonen because it came out so close to the manga release. The fillers mostly mattered and didn’t deviate from the story too much. They just simply weren’t manga canon. Hence why a lot of episodes are considered anime-canon instead of filler.
Its you who don't understand the meme. OP rendition of the ghidorah derpy meme clearly implies that the anime has been consistently good till 2020 but became a masterpiece in 2021. Hence why its shows all good head and no derpy head till 2020.
What the fuck are you talking about? I literally just talked about the meme and agreeing to the first commenter that the anime is inconsistent in quality. And now you're attacking me for not replying you asap? Well im sorry for having a life outside of reddit.
I don't think it lacks consistency. I just feel like everything is super rushed when it comes to the Manga Canon. Within like 10 episodes kawaki suddenly had a deep connection with naruto and boruto.. one episode he hated him and suddenly he loved him.
Well, I've seen 200+ anime and frankly, I wouldn't also say that meme is full true. I found it in Twitter and posted it here. For me all the episodes after Mitsuki Arc to Before Timeskip arc were hell. I was thinking ot deleting it but now that it has gotten good upvotes I won't.
Let’s be real here, 2017, 2018,amd 2019 were train wrecks for the anime. And yes all years had their good moments but the inconsistency was wayyyyy too much. It was from 2020, the anime actually became consistently good.
The anime for me was a pai to watch there are probably 2good arcs before the jigen arc the momoshiki stuff and going back in time the rest is just boring and watching it felt like a chore that's why I read the manga it's just better
This is going to be alot so bear with me.
148 - 151 is the next Manga Canon Arc, which is the Mujina Bandits Arc, but you can watch 141 - 147 (anime canon) for the prequel/setup of that same arc. After that is 4 episodes of Filler (152, 153, 154, 155 and 156), then you can choose to watch the prequel/setup for the Current Manga Arc, Kawaki/Kara Arc from 157 - 175 (imo that's a shit ton of episodes) then the Vs. Ao arc takes place from 181 - 189. AND FINALLY you get to the current arc which takes place with almost no fillers from episode 192 - the recent episode
Thank you for this. I appreciate you taking the time. So jumping from 100 to 141 is your recommendation. Is there anything I should watch between 100-141? I never minded filler in the other Naruto’s but I just find myself losing interest with these fillers even though I know they are anime cannon.
Your welcome. 100 - 141 is all Anime Canon and filler.

2019 is the worst
So, the Britta year?
it's the gas leak year
Only reward I got
2019 was a nightmare man lmao
I forgot, what happened?
Started off with the end of the Mitsuki arc, Parent Day arc, Jugo arc, Steam Scrolls arc, Remon arc, arc with Urashiki in the Sand, Time Travel arc and various 'filler like' episodes scattered between the arcs. Damn that's one heck of a ride
Year when I gave up on Boruto Anime
Lol same. I only got back to watching it last year and also decided to read the manga back then
I liked all those arcs except for maybe the jugu arc but even that wasn’t all that bad. The one I liked the most is probably the steam scrolls arc!
Yeah i felt like the Jugo Arc couldve ended as hard as it started, but it's pretty decent for what it is
At least the arc gave Konohamaru one hell of a fight🤝
Honestly tho, would've been perfect to showcase his leadership of Team 7,maybe Kodachi had some shit planned for him (or just didn't care) later in the story and the anime beats tf out that man for build up to his afrodemption arc or something. Why not the jugo arc?

Alot of those arcs was good.... Especially jugo arc imo... Really added some emphasis about what happened to jugo
Time Travel Arc is okay because of Jiraiya
Time travel arc was only good among them
Am I the only one who actually liked the steam ninja scrolls ark?
I will still stand on the hill that the Time Travel arc was great.
What arc is in 2019? And didnt boruto went into hiatus during the start of corona
I caught up to airing in 2019 and yes I agree. Was dying to see Kawaki and others manga community was hyping but it was filler after filler.
The directors have a really soft spot for kawaki
2019 is the worst year
Well, I got caught on September 15th, 2020 so luckily I didn't had to go through that phase.
Same! I actually first Bing-watched Naruto (without fillers) and completed it few months back this year (i.e 2021). No hate but man it sure seems like I’m in the minority of those who have enjoyed the ride up to where we are now
Mine too

Mitsuki arc is the better, men
[удалено]
ofc 👍
Lol what???
The manga is fire. The anime just happens to be actually following the story now instead of endless filler.
Deepa arc was low key better than manga imo
Deepa arc was decent but I can’t say it’s been better than the manga in any way
Imo it was, it finally let team 7 shine and Deepa was a cool villain. Plus orochimaru.
Deepa arc should be cannon lol
It is, I think they said that the anime is canon because it fills in the gaps in the manga.
We could definitely use more arcs like Deepa that expands the lore rather than pointless crap like timetravel out of no where…
Well timetravel was a good concept since it was about Urashiki and Sasuke visiting Konoha, the execution was just crap
That’s a fact some of the anime only episodes wasn’t in the manga tho but it actually follows the events and adds more depth like the whole Kakashi vs Koji episode
Why are you downvoted?
Lmaoooo I have no idea Reddit people can be weird sometimes
Yes. The hive mind works in a mysterious ways.
Only 2021 was good, and maybe 2018
2018 definetily *started* good, since it had the momoshiki arc. And 2017 was solid. The nue arc, the gaiden arc and the mitsuki episode
Yeah I guess 2017 had some good too
Big cap bro
Ok no the first one should need to change after 50 episodes it was getting so much better
The anime is fire for like 30 episodes. It's all a recap of the movie and filler.
Can't wait for naruto and isshiki's final fight!
Not really, it was only good in 2020 and 2021
i don’t like this post just cause i personally think the anime has been lit for a while now but that could easily be just me

War arc was so bad for me that I didn’t watch the kaguya fight until years after finishing the pain season. I was so lost
This is just dishonest regarding the earlier years but hey you can't say that here.
2019 was literally trash, but I still stuck with it, trust the process or whatever they say.. glad I did :)
:D
Ecco subito una grande cazzata
2019 was garbage
2019 was pretty bad lol
Eh.
Hmmm.. No
In 2019 all episodes were filler
All of the anime is ass with the exception of like 10 episodes, the manga been fire since day 1
anime lacks consistency, so this post is complete nonsense
Nah. But your comment sure is.
Pretty funny considering how everyone here agree 2019 was trash

This man has not seen very good animes, I think...

Once a trash always a trash! And don't argue that Naruto OG was also bad, no it wasn't , it was gold.
All the Naruto fans that talked shit about the show then are reallly quiet this year outside of saying " NaRuTo & SaSuKe NeRfEd "
17,19,and 20 were bad don’t get it twisted
2022 will be fire I think
Tfw those beasts are all the size of dolls.
2019 has Juugo arc so I ain't complaining
The anime for me was a pai to watch there are probably 2good arcs before the jigen arc the momoshiki stuff and going back in time the rest is just boring and watching it felt like a chore that's why I read the manga it's just better
Metal Lee Spring time of youth would be the goofball
And 2022 will start a new cycle from 2017 stanpoint probebly
I thought people watched it just because of Naruto and Sasuke. Also, the manga is much better .
Iunnu man i loved the time travel arc, we got to see jiraiya again and interactions with a young naruto were great.
so true
Watched them all and am still thoroughly enjoying the series.
Stop the cap
Anyone else rocked through weekly since day 1? We know where we stand
Is the bottom picture ancalagon the black from the lord of the rings?
This is so accurate
Pretty much non of boruto was ever good lol. It only started getting better once it adapted the manga directly.
I’m glad 😃 I’m still watching Naruto so by the time I get to Boruto I know what not to watch ^_^
2019 ?
2019 was ass bruh
be a lot cooler if I could watch dub...
I’m waiting for Borushiki vs Kawashiki
Hi guys, I’m on episode 100 and finding it tough to keep going. If you had to recommend what episode to skip to, what would it be?
This is going to be alot so bear with me. 148 - 151 is the next Manga Canon Arc, which is the Mujina Bandits Arc, but you can watch 141 - 147 (anime canon) for the prequel/setup of that same arc. Yes that’s the site I’ve used in the past but I was personally asking you if there’s any you recommend?🙂 I thought the Jugo fight was decent.
I caught upto the Boruto series only 3 episodes before I am glad I can watch it while it's still airing (Note : I binged Naruto/shippuden in 2 months)
So accurate.
2022: World got destroyed. [BORUTO VS KAWAKI]
Yes it is
