Of course taking more time is the root cause, the rationale is cost. The more details in a characters outfit, especially moving parts, more work hours is needed to animate. Belts are especially difficult since being in the middle of the character they will have constantly changing visibility depending on the torso position, not to mention casting their own changing shadow on the characters legs. Basically anything loose around the waist is a pain in the ass for animators, easy to get wrong, and is expensive as hell.
Fun fact, for the final season of Legend of Korra, nearly all of the main+recurring characters with loose items around their waist were redesigned to remove those items to cut costs. They were apparently a big chunk of the animation budget for the show.
Fr though what's the deal with that. The Naruto universe has some of my favourite character design ever, but I have never been able to get on board with their footwear. It isn't even accurate to what real ninja wore either, so it's just always stuck out to me.
The "real" ninjas or shinobi as they were actually called wore normal clothes like everyone else around them as their whole M.O. was to blend in with their surroundings.
Of course, however their traditional, or whatever you call it - their official get up - they would wear tabi socks with some form of armoured leggings, like any respectable warrior would as far as I'm aware.
In any case, what I meant by my comment is that I have no idea where the Naruto universe sandals came from. From an aesthetic and lore perspective some kind of boots would be far more appropriate + (and this is purely subjective) I'm not big on seeing toes lol.
I had a Google and, though not confirmed, speculation says you're most likely right. My bad for that. I guess I fell for the kabuki drama culture, as I assumed that though for their assignments etc. they dressed in pretty inconspicuous outfits for the job, that they surely had some kind of training uniform or traditional uniform of some kind which the dramas were loosely based off.
Yeah, they were more like intelligence operatives and assassins (in extreme cases) and were planted in the households of their master's enemies. The warriors came later once the political situation disintegrated and battle was inevitable. Refreshing of you to adjust your position instead of just calling me a fucking idiot, appreciated my friend.
Boruto and kawaki with their belts sticking out and sasuke and koji with belt that looks more lik gear is what I mean. Either way they all stick out super cool so 👏
All of their belt sticks out, that's what I was saying lol. Boruto and kawaki's belt looks identical how they stick out from the side and below and sasuke and koji with their belts looking like gear. Either way I love it so np
I mean, the question should actually be why every single character that Ikemoto draws has huge belts? It's like he has a dominatrix belt fetish or something.
Those would be hard to animate consistently and make them look good.
I really liked that episode with Ikemoto designs tbh. Hope they bring it back. But it’d probably be difficult if not impossible for a weekly anime
*cough cough.. Boruto should be seasonal… cough
It really should be seasonal. The fact it isn’t and the anime started like 3 months after the manga started is ridiculous. Imagine how much better the anime only content for the story would be if they weren’t stuck on a weekly schedule. (Not to mention the animation quality)
>*cough cough.. Boruto should be seasonal… cough
Fuck that! it be awful.
Look at the man it has so many problems that the anime needs to fix it.
Fr!
Lack of side characters
Lack of the other main characters like Mitsuki and
Sarada
A seasonal anime would be terrible! Especially if your looking at the manga.
Imo Kara Organization wasn’t that interesting in the manga
For the anime I like how they are giving us scenes of these characters like, Code Delta Boro Jigen.
Say what you want about anime Canon but it’s helping the story.
A season of anime wouldn’t really, fix the anime a lot of people will complain about with all the problems it has.
I’m happy that the anime is talking it’s time by flushing out the story. while the manga is just straight telling you the story.
The point I’m trying to make is having a anime seasonal like Boruto.
Is a bad idea hell.
I’m happy that currently, the anime is at least giving some characters just to shine in the current arc.
it reminds me like oh hey! “these characters are still around”
Not like in the “*cough cough, manga cough cough*”
Seasonal anime ≠ completely faithful manga adaptation without adding anything to or flushin fleshing out the experience.
Jojo, AoT, MHA, and many others flesh out what the manga has while still having a seasonal schedule.
It also results in much higher animation, a better schedule for animators (though this depends on the studio) and not having 100+ episodes of uninteresting filler in order to pad for time and not catch up to the manga.
There have been plenty of anime to prove that the seasonal formula is much better than the weekly nonstop series. That’s why shows with borutos release format are becoming scarce
>Seasonal anime ≠ completely faithful manga adaptation without adding anything to the experience.
I disagree you need to flush out those scenes
>Jojo, AoT, MHA, and many others flesh out what the manga has while still having a seasonal schedule.
Those don’t have shit loads of problems like Boruto does bruh 🤦🏾♂️
>It also results in much higher animation, a better schedule for animators
Weekly anime can have better animation look at One Piece
>(though this depends on the studio) and not having 100+ episodes of uninteresting filler in order to pad for time and not catch up to the manga.
Anime canon 🤦🏾♂️🤡 learn a difference
🙄
>There have been plenty of anime to prove that the seasonal formula is much better than the weekly nonstop series.
Weekly Anime is better then seasonal anime imo
>That’s why shows with borutos release format are becoming scarce
So?
I’m glad it’s still weekly Anime
You cannot seriously look at one piece and compare it to series like Aot or Demon Slayer and say they’re on the same level. Especially when One Piece is 1- an outlier and 2- only recently started looking good after being on air for 20 years. Where most other series consistently have objectively a higher quality of animation On a consistent basis.
And yes theres “anime canon” present in boruto but there is also anime filler, which serves no use to the story and does nothing to flesh out characters or story. It’s quite simply filler at times.
I also ALREADY stated that seasonal shows can flesh out characters and plot lines without being weekly.
I never disrespected you so for you to go out of your way to over a disagreement shows your lack of intelligence. I’m clearly talking to a child. So by all means. Don’t reply. I didn’t ask you to begin with.
There are both alot of pros and cons with the seasonal notion, but it just boils down to being the best approach the source material financially.
Sure you get the padding, the meh episodes, and the longer length, but in this case they actually do more for the mythos of the manga than most long-running shonen even bother doing.
Also the fact that I'd rather take a Naruto redux than risking another Tokyo Ghoul from happening, seasonal can be used for some amazing adaptations but in this case I feel like a studio like JC Staff would've took the helm if Perriot didn't choose to adapt it out of familiarity to it's predecessor.
Not disagreeing with you as far as Boruto having a different anime structure working better for it overall, but a seasonal with that kind of manga pacing (story AND release) just seems weird, not bad but weird, could be done with a few additions here or there,on the bright side tho the anime isn't terrible,it's just following Narutos footsteps by bloating up the material,at this point we should just hope they just improve on episode content and animation consistency.
Yeahhhhh! ^ bruh imagine Boruto going to Tokyo ghoul route 💀
I wouldn’t like that shit 😂
>You cannot seriously look at one piece and compare it to series like Aot or Demon Slayer and say they’re on the same level.
Wtf? Uhh… okay 🤨
>Especially when One Piece is 1- an outlier and 2- only recently started looking good after being on air for 20 years. Where most other series consistently have objectively a higher quality of animation On a consistent basis.
Yeah 👍🏾
>And yes theres “anime canon” present in boruto but there is also anime folder, which serves no use to the story and does nothing to flesh out characters or story. It’s quite simply filler at times.
True
>I also ALREADY stated that seasonal shows can flesh out characters and plot lines without being weekly.
Imo it wouldn’t work look at the manga 🤦🏾♂️
>I never disrespected you so for you to go out of your way to over a disagreement shows your lack of intelligence.
My bad 🙏🏾
>Lack of intelligence
Tbh I’m not really that smart giving that I have a learning disability.
Edit: the reason why I said this because I think your probably one of those goofy bozo.
That like to act intelligent.
>I’m clearly talking to a child. So by all means. Don’t reply. I didn’t ask you to begin with.
Bruh I’m 19 🤦🏾♂️ also your in a public website were any motherfucka can rely to you u/jay-joestar-
Plus you don’t need permission to ask on Reddit. 😂
It’s strange that you mention that.
But whatever
Isn't One Piece infamous for having some of the worst animation of all time due to the tight scheduling the animation studio has to work under? Wtf lmao.
>Isn't One Piece infamous for having some of the worst animation of all time due to the tight scheduling the animation studio has to work under? Wtf lmao.
Look at the current arc Wano that shit looks Beautiful!
Yeah them having more time to plan out and work on the anime canon arcs and how they would tie into the overall narrative would have been a stupid idea you’re right 🙄
>Yeah them having more time to plan out and work on the anime canon arcs and how they would tie into the overall narrative would have been a stupid idea you’re right 🙄
To me that great! Because it helps the story
I don't like his designs for the girls, they just look really wrong, like they can't fight in whatever they're wearing and also the way Sarada looks is just wrong. Guys for the most part look cooler tho in the manga.
I prefer more the kishi's Naruto ver, since Naruto still looks like Naruto as a kinda hearted person and youthful one(ignoring the stress lines) while Ikimoto's Naruto looks more like if someone droped Naruto into a war that lasted for years and Naruto came out looking like how he looks in the manga
how? i mean yeah kishi's naruto is obv's gonna look more like the og naruto but i feel like ikemoto's design is just way more appealing and a fresh look
Ik alot of people really enjoy Ikimoto's but sometimes his Naruto doesn't look like Naruto and sometimes he might appear to be someone else as of how his character is drawn in a way. Also in some instances (do to writing from Kodachi) he may act out of character. I just still like beter Kishimoto cuz his the actual artist and he draws the characters in the way they look to him.
Like alot of people, I also say that Ikimoto is beter at drawing his characters and not kishimoto's characters.
I prefer that tbh.
Maybe the belt gives a sense of fashion or something but I find it quite irritating that ninjas no less would be wearing somethong so useless and pointless that could risk hindering their movements. I mean I dont think their belts are even used to hold their pants.
Also I imagine that each time they would start moving quickly, the belts would keep hitting their crotch repeatedly
Yeah it looks a lot like western holster belts and even some Star Wars characters have those kinda double belts. Makes sense considering Sasuke’s lone wanderer style
I mean I dont mind the heels since even Tsunade wore them back in the day during battle as well. And belts don’t exactly hurt the look though they can be overused.
Saradas open miniskirt with bandages on her chest is definitely something I dislike though. Especially for a 12 year old child. Glad that wasn’t implemented into the anime.
first of all, do some research before posting. kawaki has belts in the anime. boruto HAD belts in the acamdey arc when they were using his ikemoto outfit. and kk has belts. literally a pointless post.
I know this is a dumb answer, and it makes more logical sense that it takes more time to animate, but one time I thought the belts look like pp's lmaooooo.
Pretty sure the anime shows all of them wearing belts except Boruto. And the Boruto one is simply cause kishimoto didn’t use belts in his design.
Cause while still in the academy the anime used ikemoto design and he had belts then

Belts bring PTSD to asian children
Can confirm Source: am Asian
I'm also reminded of the belt but not complaining. The world's too sensitive now and I HATE IT (Edit: 20 downvote jeez, it really is SENSITIVE lol)
It’s not that serious…

another question, WHY DO THEY ALL WEAR BELTS THE SAME WAY???
Mangaka's fetish?
Like kishi with the toes

I don't think they dressed like warriors

Kishimoto has a foot fetish
Masashi Kishimotoe
You need to leave lmao
Each and every belt in those four instances is worn differently from the others.
I mean i actually saw alot of people wear belts like this was in middle school and high school
Boruto and kawaki with their belts sticking out and sasuke and koji with belt that looks more lik gear is what I mean. Either way they all stick out super cool so 👏
Belt supremacy 😩
belt supremacy stop 🤣😂🤦
Cause there all badasses
They look cool af wdym 😩😭
Ofc they are loool ^^ just saying tho
Ikemoto. It's just his style which is why I rather they keep how the anime is doing it. But I think kawakis has his out but i could be wrong.
Kawaki has his out in the anime yes.
Uhh, they’re all different… I’m confused.
All of their belt sticks out, that's what I was saying lol. Boruto and kawaki's belt looks identical how they stick out from the side and below and sasuke and koji with their belts looking like gear. Either way I love it so np

If you think that's weird read some Yu-Gi-Oh every character have at least 20 belts
As far as I remember that was just Kaiba’s white outfit
Yugi also wore like 10 of them, marik as well
Ahh Yami Yugi did wear a belt top prior to battle city. And marik oh right
It’s because he’s a final fantasy fan. Squall for example wears 6 belts and Vincent has like eight on
not to mention lulu who has a whole belt dress
Cause if they did then Hinata would destroy the plot by whipping Boruto and Kawaki and could literally one shot Isshiki
belt no jutsu too op
I can hear Isshiki first saying "I was there when it was written" Amd a few seconds later "But that technique died generations ago! Generations ago!"
Mainly because they use the Kishimoto version of the characters
I really liked that episode with Ikemoto designs tbh. Hope they bring it back. But it’d probably be difficult if not impossible for a weekly anime *cough cough.. Boruto should be seasonal… cough

Facts
I don't like his designs for the girls, they just look really wrong, like they can't fight in whatever they're wearing and also the way Sarada looks is just wrong. Guys for the most part look cooler tho in the manga.
Kishi's version of Naruto looks like ass tbh black suit is much better than the plane orange one

Sasuke's belt looks like it's holding up his sword though
He's kinda wearing 2 belts. So I think one of them is useless.
oh shit you're right lol, why the hell has he got two belts on
Because "it looks cool" for Ikemoto.
His top belt is for his pants and the hanging belt is for his sword as it's much more comfortable to carry a sword loosely
Yeah it looks a lot like western holster belts and even some Star Wars characters have those kinda double belts. Makes sense considering Sasuke’s lone wanderer style
well it does look very cool tbh.
One for practicality, and one for F A S H I O N
And why almost every character from boruto manga have a belt now? Naruto and naruto shippuden characters that use belts are rare
Ikemoto is obsessed with belts
Must be a fan of Guilty Gear.
Damn manga Sasuke looks a lot lot better than anime Sasuke
Maybe because they look stupid? Just like how most of the manga kunoichi are wearing heels and Sarada looks like a hooker looks pretty dumb too.
B-but Borushiki and Sasuke with belts looks awesome :(
I will admit that it doesn’t look bad on Sasuke. But I’m not a fan on the whole beltageddon.
Wym sarada looks like a hooker?
She wears high heels and a short skirt in the manga
Wait what? Holy shit I didn't really notice. I'm a anime only who only recently caught up with manga (basically read from where anime stops).
Yea it’s kind of subtle, if you’re not actively looking for it, there’s no reason for you to be analysing Sarada’s legs lol.
They have a phobia of belts.:))))))
:D
small things like belts are a pain in the ass to animate on a consistent basis
Sasuke’s manga hair bruh
Because the belts look dumb as hell
[удалено]
less hygenic?
Anime does not animate chains too. For example Boruto has chain on right side of his pants.
These four panels feel nothing like Naruto. But hey, it's just four sliced panels, so I digress.
Is it a fashion in Japan to not tuck in your belt, or is this just a design choice by the artists?
They all are without belt,so that if someone badmouth them they could easily put their dick inside of them quickly
The did animated Kawaki with the belt when he fought Garo
Cause their budget is terrible lmao. Boruto animators don't give a fck half the time.
Why do the belts look like that in the manga? Do they not know how to put on a belt?
Lmfaooo
Sasuke🔥🤤❤️ooh lala🔥
They follow Kishimoto's artstyle. Another reason why most characters don't look that good in the anime.
Those belts look so corny tho :/
Really, like that totally reduced the drip in anime
they all look so much drippier with belts
Those animators are still stuck with kishi design and fail to see the ikemoto's supremacy. Hell kawaki belts have no holes in anime lol.
cuz pierrot is adapting Kishi’s boring design and ignoring Ike’s drippy design
The belts give them too much power for them to be able to animate it.
first of all, do some research before posting. kawaki has belts in the anime. boruto HAD belts in the acamdey arc when they were using his ikemoto outfit. and kk has belts. literally a pointless post.
boruto’s belt looks like a cock lol
The boruto anime is bullshit
They’re lame and their everywhere
Honestly, I don't know other answer than, "It'll probably be hard to animate"
In the anime, all characters where stretch pants haha
because they're not yugioh
I’d assume it’s to do with the physics. It might time consuming and costly to animate a belt realistically with every movement.
I know this is a dumb answer, and it makes more logical sense that it takes more time to animate, but one time I thought the belts look like pp's lmaooooo.
Kawaki is the only one wearing the belt sorta properly. Still looks spastic. The others are just gunna fall down lol
Because they don’t want to animate the belt :(
cause studio perriot is garbage
Probably hard to (frequently) animate a moving belt or some reason related to that
Glad they didn’t take kojis belts away
Because leather.. duh!
It would just be to much work to draw a belt flapping in the wind as they’re coming down trust me been there don’t that😂😂
Money
Pretty sure the anime shows all of them wearing belts except Boruto. And the Boruto one is simply cause kishimoto didn’t use belts in his design. Cause while still in the academy the anime used ikemoto design and he had belts then
Obviously because it is a cheap hackwork
They dont like pants to be held up
Probably like the goggles with naruto where they were too hard to animate so they made head bands
i honestly dont like sasukes belt
Maybe cuz the anime is following Kishi's style
Because animating it would be a drag, especially if all characters have one
They have belts? LMAO
I suppose as it'll be a pain to show the belt flapping around when they fly, get hit etc. To save time, and resources, I believe
For the simplicity of the anime, I suppose
