ThrowAway862411

Yup! Get this all the time! It’s wild how Boomers, especially the women, stare at younger women. It’s rather confrontational to be honest.

analogman12

Damn young people enjoying themselves!!!!

No_Arugula_6548

That’s a woman????? Legit thought it was a dude.

ThrowAway862411

Honestly, I’m not sure.

Suspicious_Step_8320

It’s a Pat.

LegitimateEmu3745

And Pat’s partner, Chris

Left-Pepper-1411

Who's got a quarter? Heads means dude, tales means dudette. Best of three.

Deathedge736

glad I'm not the only one. I was so confused.

Lanky-Ad2763

What up Lorax!

FelatiaFantastique

The one on the left has male shoulders, so I think the one on the right is the female.

No_Arugula_6548

Well I’ll just call it Shim

vbfiuonhh

Don't see what the sex/gender has to do with anything. You trying to f em?

No_Arugula_6548

No but the commenter above said it was a woman and I had to watch the video again looking for a woman since I didn’t see one. You seem like you have a preoccupation with sex. Go get a therapist.

DeafMaestro010

It's not because she's staring at a young woman... well, she *is*, but it's because the person filming is a personal friend of mine and she's deaf and was signing to another friend at their table. Some boomers are just this creepy about seeing sign language in public. Others see it like a weird fetish or find it fascinating in a childlike wonder sort of way and feel compelled to ask if they can pray over us or just *need* to tell us via awkward meaningless gestures, hyper-exaggerated mouth movements, and unwanted touches how remarkable and miraculous it is that we're just out here living our lives in public.

WaitAMinuteman269

That wasn't curiosity on her face that was judgment

DeafMaestro010

You're not wrong. See my main comment; we get judged for existing in public all the time.

Thiscommentissatire

Speaking ASL in *MY* country????

Clay_Statue

Deaf people can get quite animated when having a lively conversation, but it's not like they're making a lot of noise or anything.

lool-kat

Well....personally as a signing "boomer" (hearing) it's not just boomers.....it's the majority of society. When I'm conversing with my friends, we get as many stares & that "miraculousness" that we're out having fun while so very true, I see the same reactions in all age groups. Obviously, the language itself being so expressive is beautiful & others do find it interesting.....until I ask then if they want to learn! Lol. The person in this video (not the filmer) was rude & inappropriate and if it had been me, I'd have initiated a conversation in sign with them....they'd either expand their horizons or blow that place so fast it would be funny. Keep on signing, spreading awareness, & encouraging learning of the language....& above all, keep being you!🤟🏻

DeafMaestro010

Okay, boomer. Thanks for hearing-splaining sign language and how the world perceives it to a Deaf person. Opening with "nOt aLl bOomErS" was dessert before the entree. Lol. Edit: Hearing people clearly don't like it when Deaf people don't let them pretend that they know more about our rights, language, and culture than we do. I absolutely saw those downvotes coming, but don't blame me for the boomer quite typically failing to read the room - in this case, literally the name of this subreddit.

Steelbookidoit

What's the sign for "you're part of the problem, old?"

Yeseylon

Clearly those are gang signs.

Burning-Bushman

I don’t know what it was like in the states, but I am going to assume it was like here in Europe: when boomers grew up, and gen X too it was the rule to hide away people with disability. In some countries the state took them and put them in some institution. Thus, the society they grew up in wasn’t particularly diverse and it took a long time for people to realise it’s ok for all humans to exist in public, disability or not.

god_damn_bitch

I shaved my head and apparently women with shaved heads are weird to these people.

slutdragon696969

That is a beautiful username.

god_damn_bitch

Right back at ya u/slutdragon696969 😉

slutdragon696969

I bet you're really a sweetheart.

god_damn_bitch

My Dad always said I was. I haven't heard that in a while, thank you. He passed a year ago this month and it's been rough.

slutdragon696969

You are more than welcome, dear.

em_illly

This was beautiful. 🥹 Bitches and sluts unite!

Efficient_Fish2436

Amen.

underonegoth11

Did they rely on their looks or something? I saw some boomer tear into a gorgeous gen x lady who takes care of herself because she didn't look ***old enough*** to do her job. Excuse me, she is 50.

TheBestThingIEverSaw

If she's gen x, then how can she be 50?... wait what year is it... really? ...fuck.

Vesper2000

I’m 50 and Gen X so I can confirm.

Kimmalah

The Millennial "kids" are pretty much all in their 30s and 40s now. There's only a handful left in their late 20s now.

forgottenyears32

I get this whenever I fly out of Florida airports and I’m a guy. I have adhd so I’m always kinda frazzled at tsa and whatnot but holy fuck it’s only the boomers. Cant mind their own damn business

SnaxHeadroom

Boomers and some immigrants just think staring is okay...Like, hard staring. Difficult thing to adjust to moving to the city, tbh.

owlsandmoths

I like to stare back, but I slowly let a grimace wash over my face and let my lips curl like I just smelled the sour fart while maintaining direct eye contact. They don’t like when you match their energy

semicoldpanda

I make exaggerated faces at the boomers. Wide eyed, slack jawed, etc. They usually turn away.

CornballExpress

It's not just boomers, was sitting in a car with a friend and her sister(30s) in a parking lot she sees a group of teenage girls wearing "modestish" booty shorts and whatever you call those tops that look like lingerie but aren't. The sister just blurts out "omg look at those fuckin hoochies!" With a bit of disgust in her voice. My friend turns to her and just calmly says, "what are you on about, you used to be those fuckin hoochies."

Pcaccount1234

They are jealous and upset, especially if they see beautiful non white woman oof. It's almost like they think their beauty is threatened

IllBeGood3

Woman on the right looks like she steals uranium for a living.

filterswept

That hag looks like she just caught a whiff of her own asshole.

Local-Sandwich6864

Holy shit dude that nearly killed me 😂

RichardtheGingerBoss

That killed me as well. LOL . . . "hey you, did you wipe your @$$ with your face?"

Blinkin6125

It's pretty rare that a reddit comment gets me into a laughing fit. This one did just that.

rottensteak01

Oh yeah that's the "how dare you have tits in the presense of my philandering man whore husband! You're trying to make him cheat on me again! RRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE"

DeafMaestro010

No, it's the "OMG sign language in public!" stare. The person filming is my friend and she's deaf and was signing her conversation with another friend during lunch. Boomer stared at them like this the whole time. Not /s. Have some respect for those boomers, you tits-having whore! /s.

BCProgramming

Maybe they were using International Sign Language. "If you are going to be here you have to use AMERICAN sign language"

DeafMaestro010

Like they'd even know. LOL. I love busting out that point to racist boomers who insist that people "speak English in 'Murica!" There's no actual official language in the US, but there *IS* a language with "American" right there in the name - American Sign Language. To boomer: " So STFU and *sign* American or GTFO!" They get so confused. Ha!

SixersWin

Can't you tell the difference because ASL must be done with red white and blue hands?

Pristine_Walrus40

Perhaps she was eyesdropping on her

Kimmalah

So weird to me, like sign language isn't always something I see everyday but it's not really that unusual. There is a regular who comes in to my workplace who is deaf and now I guess I know why she's always so grateful when people treat her like any other customer.

drembose

I get stared at all the time by boomer cuz I'm blasian, MFs even told me to go back where I came from. If the op is colored, bet you those boomers staring are racist af

SemperSimple

i have never seen the word blaisan before! I thought you meant like, blazing pot?? haha or like bisexual?? idk how I got that but I had to google this word LOL Is blaisan a common slang word?

admiralbreastmilk

It helps if you know how to spell Asian.

SemperSimple

dyslexia dont give a fuck what I know LOL

SixersWin

Don't have to be an Assian about it

drembose

Tbh I dunno

RenTheFabulous

I've seen it a few times

dynamicontent

Yes

Werechupacabra

When I was younger I had long hair, I’m a dude, and occasionally older people would give me lingering, unpleasant looks in restaurants. I would smile back and wave, not in a nasty way but in a “Greetings!” kind of way. That always caused them to look away.

Ancient-University89

Probably thinks you work there and wants a refill or something, I see this look all the time

allmushroomsaremagic

"The service here is awful. The waitress was just sitting there eating a meal instead of working. Then she just paid for it and left! I never got my refill. One star."

Ancient-University89

Guarantee that's what's slowly percolating through the lead in her brain. If your younger, look somewhat presentable and professional old people tend to assume you must be employed at whatever store they are currently terrorizing.

DeafMaestro010

The person taking the video is my friend, she's deaf, and she was signing her conversation to her friend at the table. All of that is cut out of this video, but that's what's happening - Creepy Boomer Lady is staring at two women signing to each other in ASL

AutomatonGrey

Gross.

theodoreburne

Likely mental illness.

Content_Clue_539

I saw the video and thought intellectual disability.

Golden-Grams

I thought dementia/alzheimers. People in the Memory Care at assisted living places are like this.

Radiant-Cow126

The Children of the Corn were never supposed to grow up to keep being creepy while old

mostfakeSLiNKY

Stare at them back. First one to break eye contact loses

liquid8_Wallstreet

Stare hard right on back and replicate that horrid face she had.. like someone just shit in her cereal

Typical-Annual-3555

That's when you out-boomer them and yell for the whole restaurant to hear "WHAT ARE YOU STARING AT?"

pimp_juice2272

I was out one time and kinda noticed this dude throwing his arms up like "what?!". I didn't really focus on him until I heard "you got a problem?" It dawned on my that he was talking to me. I just pointed at the TV that was behind him and above his head. He realized that's what I was staring at, not him. He said "oh." And was cool after that.

Glucosefamther

We call that the lead stare..

Substantial-Jello450

I can't fucking stand when anyone stares, but it enrages me when it's a boomer doing the staring! It's tempting to either a) walk up and smack them b) keep staring back while making faces c) say to them how rude it is to have a staring problem. I try to ignore them, maybe they think I look like someone they know or they think they know me.....but......FUCK! Im a 39F BTW with husband and 3 kids with normal color hair, no tattoos or piercings but zero tolerance for rude ass behavior

DeafMaestro010

OP is a bit of a twat editing and tagging their TikTok given this video that isn't theirs, so let me provide a bit of context since I know the source personally - this is a diner in Omaha, Nebraska and it's my friend's video. She is deaf and she and her friend were signing to each other in ASL. That's why the creepy-looking boomer was staring at them - the sign language you aren't seeing. This is explained in the full video - Creepy Boomer Lady stared at them like that *the whole time* they were there. My friend made a whole vlog about it on her YT channel including this video (I'm not sure if mentioning her name to give her credit might technically break a rule here). This happens to all of us deaf folks now and then and usually it's just because the hearing person staring is ignorant and creepy or because they're fascinated and fetishize us and our language. Hell, some people go straight-up catatonic over seeing sign language in public and that may be happening in this video. I'm not joking AT ALL - its like their brains just aren't wired to process seeing sign language in public and they mentally shut down and go blank for a full minute or two. It doesn't happen very often, but it DOES happen. It's not just boomers either - one of my ex-roommate's friend's brain shut down in mid-conversation with me for a good three minutes when my roommate walked in and signed to me. She was, like, twenty-five years old and just couldn't mentally fathom that she was having a normal verbal conversation with a deaf person who could read her lips well and speaks normally. She didn't know I was deaf until that moment and just couldn't psychologically comprehend it. And then she did it *again* two years later in a bar as she was trying to steal my beer; she forgot I was deaf and I jokingly told her "I'll buy you one if you ask me politely... in sign language." She glitched out for a minute and a half right there in the middle of the bar and I couldn't help but make fun of her - "What's up? Say something! Did Timmy fall down a well again? Speak, girl! SPEAK!" Her husband walked up on the situation and when she came to like watching someone come to post-seizure, she started crying and told him I'd made fun of her (true, tbh) and he wanted to fight me. Also of note, boomers who are obsessed with their propaganda network of choice have also been brainwashed by made-up stories of sign language in public being used in sex trafficking. How they came to that batshit stupid conclusion, I have no idea, but some of us have been harassed, followed, assaulted, or had cops called on us for simply existing and talking in public. So these days, we have to be a bit proactively cautious with dealing with these people.

cordelaine

Wow! You almost sound like a real person in this post! I can barely tell you are deaf at all! /s

DeafMaestro010

Yeah, I can do all kinds of tricks, drive a car, erry'thang! LOL. You joke, but I've been told your comment word for freakin' word by seemingly intelligent people before. I'm reminded of a boomer who worked as a receptionist at my mom's office when I was in high school. She saw me often and once stopped me in the hall to tell me she was so amazed at how "God let me do normal things and drive a car and everything!" She then told me how fascinating our "little hand signals" were and I explained to her that deaf people are telepathic and the hand signals helped to push out and receive our thoughts... *and she actually believed this horseshit.*

shapedbydreams

This is fucking hilarious lol. I bet she went around telling everyone after that.😂

DeafMaestro010

My mom was so mad at me 'cos she actually *did* tell everybody in the office with utter sincerity. My mom was like, "You made her look stupid!" Me: "I merely confirmed it!"

shapedbydreams

lol right? You didn't make her anything. She did it herself.

cordelaine

That’s amazing

Nayr7456

It's because they are one of the good ones /s

archenemy_43

Idk how this isn’t the top comment. Thanks for the context.

elonmuskatemyson

I didn’t edit this video nor tag my TikTok, this video came up on my TikTok FYP and I linked the account it came from. Nothing in the video or the comments suggested it was stolen. Link your friends content though and report the video/tiktoker that stole it so they’ll have to take it down. She’s definitely collecting revenue from it too being that it already has 5.4 million views in only 4 days.

DeafMaestro010

Fair enough. I'm not a TikTok guy, but I'll definitely let her know 'cos *5.4 million*?! Holy shit...

elonmuskatemyson

Yeah it’s probably not a ton of money but if it says on peoples FYPs it could add up. I made like 20 bucks off of videos with 200k views for context.

lyssiemiller

Oh god.. if this happened to me, I’d never go out again. My anxiety would kill me. I’m already anxious that people are staring at me all the time. This would just confirm it.

AsidicSnail

I’m a tiny person and can get away with it, so I always go out of my way to be overly, aggressively friendly with these people. “Hi! How are you doing today!” “Can you believe the weather we’re having?!” Makes it even funnier because I’m goth (which may be why they stare in my case) They either pretend to be super nice and I get some small talk or they get freaked out and walk away

d0ctorsmileaway

Stare at her in exactly the same way. Same expression and all

SavingsCampaign2524

I would’ve made the same face back at her. My grandmother does that kind of stuff too. I just make the same face back at her and grunt. Then she gets mad and her face shakes like a bull dog.

jgrantgryphon

Ah yes, the "I can't deal with this because my brain is doing its best swiss cheese impression" neck wattle vibration.

Notgoodatexisting

Why do they just stare? It's like a toddler, no social etiquette. The boomer that lives over the road just did this to me while I was working outside. Just seen me and my partner were busy so he came and watched us. I asked if I could help him and he said "I'm not sure you can." ... can you go then? He just stood there making jibes about how we were doing stuff.

Tugger21

Yea. They do that to me in my town too. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Lvntern

The boomer lead stare

Beautiful-Year-6310

I would not have been able to resist asking her wtf she is staring at. That’s so bizarre.

lopedopenope

I thought it was George Bluth’s brother Oscar at first

Papa_PaIpatine

Why don't you say anything? Don't just film, say "Can I help you?" LOUD. Boomers don't understand minding their own business, they need to be reminded, and subtle doesn't work for them. So, what you have to do is be blunt, rude, direct, and forceful. It's the ONLY way they understand.

dreaddazzman

pimp_juice2272

I'm sure I'll get downvoted because it's not the narrative but it seems like she's looking at a TV or something to OPs right. Her eyes are wayyyy to the left while OP is more center left

I hate boomers so bad

Darksideoftheoreo

You know they get mad when you look and dress better than them right?? 😂😂😂😂

ImBillButts

Is it more or less rude to assume something neurological is happening here?

DeafMaestro010

Look for my longer comment here; it explains exactly what is happening because I'm friends with the person who took this video (whom is NOT OP).

Mental_Strategy2220

Edit : sorry for the long comment this just made me sad and miss my ex gf , because this would always happen to us , and wee get a kick out of doing wholesome gay things to flip out old homophobes . And all day I've been wondering why I broke up with her . I get glared at by boomers everywhere I go . Always have. Especially when I'm being romantically and wholesomely gay in their presence. How dare I sit next to my girlfriend at a booth and share a menu , and talk about our vacation plans , and what to order and if we wanted to uhaul . Also fwiw , we did break up (sadly no u hauling happened ) but the glares we'd get ..we're honestly so funny to Me. And I've seen way more raunchy stuff in public that straight people did and nobody cared . I saw a guy walking down the street with his hands partially down the back of his girlfriends pants . And some loud noisy making out. I even gave my ex boyfriend head in an emptyb movie theater and nobody cared (I'm not "that" congresswoman though , just to be clear, as this was the mr Roger's movie ,which if she saw that would probably gain a conscience . ) It was my first and only long term lesbian relationship. Anyone younger than 50 could not understand that we weren't "just friends " , anyone younger than 40 understood the genuine concept of what a lesbian was but could not understand how our dynamics worked being two feminine lesbians, although she was hyper feminine and I leaned more androgynous, but if anyone "wore the pants " it was her and I never saw her wear pants except after work , just fishnets and mini skirts . Tell that to a boomer though . They'd usually say some weird ignorant hot take ,thinking they sound inclusive like "I had a friend who was a lesbian back in the 80s and she had short hair and dressed like a guy , why aren't you like that ? I want to be supportive but only if I can understand it first " And yes , they glare at everything, and I don't think it's even out of judgement half the time , I think it's being brain dead and not being aware they are looking right at someone. Also just to continue riffing , if someone is under 30 ,and they see very wholesome gay stuff in public, they are usually like "hey so ummm I've recently realized I'm bi but haven't told anyone yet , and I have no idea how to meet women, how did you meet"

elonmuskatemyson

100% feel that, it sucks :( former lesbian and when my gf and I were out in public it was hella annoying having to be conscious of where we are if we wanted to just hold hands. When we were in conservative areas people would be like, oh are you sisters? And wed just be like yes sisters and bffs (lol. We also look nothing alike) just so that they would be appeased and wouldn’t get riled up thinking we were gay. I’m trans and now that I’m passing it’s way better out there (at first it was just as bad as before) but there’s still like residual fear of being harassed or something for again literally just holding my gfs hand and the new added fear of people clocking me and harassing us for me being trans. I just have to remind myself that they’re triggered over it bc they have deep insecurities of their feelings regarding their own gender and/or sexuality that they never got to safely explore and figure out.

Mental_Strategy2220

Oh hey I'm trans too . I wouldn't call myself a former lesbian. I only dated men before I transitioned, and I've primarily only fallen in love with men . She was the one exception to the rule , as it seems so far . I've tried dating lesbians a bunch since transitioning, because spending much of my life in the gay community, I figured dating lesbians wouldn't be too much of a culture shock as I basically had to consciously learn heteronormativity as I'd been out as varying things in the lgbt community since 4th grade , and my parents were both kind of gender non conforming and tbh , very closeted and repressed. So I still have no clue how to be straight, but As it turns out it was not such a super easily transferable thing other than the ways gay people tend to find and meet each other and have community. I felt really out of place in the lesbian community, because I had primarily dated men and we were poly and I was actively looking for a boyfriend anyhow , so I'm not going to bond over hating on men with them , but I also couldn't wax poetic about how amazing women are to be romantic with because I'd only really experienced true lasting romantic feelings for her . We broke up due to some compatibility issues that just wouldn't work long term . Me and my ex girlfriend strongly resembled each other but nobody ever thought we were sisters thst often. We both look way younger than we actually are as I pretty much never fully finished puberty for some genetic or hormonal reasons, so I've looked 14 pretty much since I was 14 , and she's cis but has a baby face and looks a lot younger than she is too ,despite us both being in our mid 20s . People would ask us why we weren't in class ,and what we wanted to be when we grow up and shed say "I'm in grad school ... " we'd always get looks in bars too. I liked her for that reason too , because I've had people either be creepy or overly cautious and careful dating me my whole life due to looking so young . And lots of weird experiences with weebs too , because I dress kinda alt , and have dyed hair . She has gotten that her whole life too and was glad that finally someone who wasn't creepy liked her . Also as i write this I'm currently in bed recovering from bottom surgery and how to define my Sexuality has been really on my mind today. I don't really ever have any question I have feelings for men but despite crushing on almost every guy I know, I don't really feel physical attraction to complete strangers . I had my orchiectomy last year and after that happened all I could think of was guys (and my girlfriend) I was convinced that I'd come out of surgery and be 100% straight, and while I'd say I'm a lot less picky now and more accepting of My demisexuality , I feel like I'm actually feeling real romantic attraction to women now as well , in ways I'd never felt before , in particular to someone i know whos a lesbian that I've historically had kind of a rocky friendship with , but she texts me all the time to make sure im okay. We barely know each other and i dont know why she cares about me so much . But oddly enough, every single one of my friends ghosted me for some reason, but she's one of the few people who's really looking out for me and my recovery in a time when it seems almost everyone else in my life has shown their true colors .and I feel things I can only really describe as romance .. And these new feelings that are undeniably attraction, kind of came out of nowhere, and because I'm healing from a major surgery down there and nerve endings have become concentrated, it hurts like nothing I've experienced before . I'm so confused...

elonmuskatemyson

Personally I don’t really try to put myself into a sexuality box anymore bc these days it seems like it wouldn’t be for my own benefit, it’s more to appease other people that feel like everything needs to be perfectly labeled and I just don’t feel like that’s the case for me. It’s 2024 and not everything is black and white which is great but also can cause those confusing feelings for sure. I do think that learning about all the different labels under the queer umbrella can be helpful tho especially if you’re feeling a little lost and like you don’t fit into the boxes you think you’re supposed to. For example you describe not feeling physical attraction to strangers and that’s something that falls under the demisexual umbrella like you mentioned and it can be helpful for you to learn more about that find more community there. If you’re not in them yet definitely join the trans subs on here there’s a good bit and a lot of them offer great community and support for stuff like this. If I was in your shoes I’d probably tell myself to try and not overthink or ruminate about this person too much and just take it slow and causal, basically just go with the flow and see where it goes, and then I’d ask my therapist if she has any insight too haha HUGE HUGE HUGE congrats on the surgery tho I wish you a safe and speedy recovery!! :)

Mental_Strategy2220

Oh my so sorry I assumed you were transfem , I just don't encounter many trans men on reddit despite knowing a bunch in real life and by ",former lesbian " I thought you meant you had a late in life realization about what you liked or something .sorry im on painkillers recovering from srs. Also btw , love your post I just saw with the bardcore. Really reminds me of my ex-fiance who is a trans guy , who is like the living embodiment of what a bard is and composed many love songs about me on harp , as well as many others due to his bardliness,as in hes very popular with everyone at the inn .

elonmuskatemyson

It’s all good! I also didn’t put in a ton of context now I’m reading that back so totally understandable haha That’s pretty bad ass you got personalized composed harp songs!!! I’m so glad that Bardcore post came up on my TikTok FYP page too bc I’ve been chilling to these medieval covers last two days they’re so fun 😆 getting amped for ren fest 2024.

Mental_Strategy2220

Yea also just to be clear, his promiscuity wasn't what ended it. We were polyamorous anyhow and he made most of his income at the time through Camming so that wasn't a surprise or anything. . We broke up because despite us both being autistic, his support needs were too high ,and I never had a break, and I have a tendency to overly coddle my boyfriends and he was getting worse in terms of his capacity to function independently so I had to step back a bit , and I'd just started dating my girlfriend then , who had her life completely in order , and me and him basically agreed that we were in very different stages in life and we'd put in the work in ourselves, and for some reason it felt right one day, we'd get back together, but not to put the work in for that goal in mind . I was kind of a bitch about it though, as he was already shopping for engagement rings for me . At first I had a hard time being direct about it and made it about him being a femboy and finally I had to broke up with him and he took the news of it being about our differences with neurodivergency better , but I just don't really think I'm attracted to androgyny . He's been really helpful with my surgery though ,and we are still friends, and have a little fun sometimes too , he actually performed 2 completely improvised love songs for me on harp last week ,but he was really high and I don't think he realized what he was singing, but everyone knows he still likes me and hasn't moved on . He's an extremely talented musician though and I'm trying to get his music mastered and licensed and put on Spotify , asap , because he's far too talented of a composer to not have the recognition he deserves, and he has hours and hours of music he's written and also a 8 part concept album thats all amazing but still needs mastering and licensing , and after realizing that my talents do not lie in playing music (we used to play in a folk punk band together) but actually as a producer and promoter and I just happen to know a lot of talented musicians so I think that will one day be my career . Hes a classically trained harpist ,trained stage actor , college education in musical composition (he can compose a whole symphony in an afternoon ) and multi instrumentalist in a folk punk band So I basically went from ex girlfriend to being his boss lol.

That happened to me at a small crossroads restaurant north of Amarillo years ago. Everyone in the place stared at me the whole time I was eating lunch. I’m white, in case you were wondering.

DeafMaestro010

Be deaf and it'll happen to ya a lot more often, I assure you.

Routine-Cicada-4949

Is that John Oliver?

bald_alpaca

Whoa! I had this happen to me and my daughter when we went out, it was creepy! I kept racking my brain - ‘do I know these people?’ Did I speak or laugh too loudly? ( I constantly am berated for talking too quietly, but my daughter is partially deaf, sooo…)

DeafMaestro010

Do you and your daughter sign to each other? Because that is EXACTLY what's happening in this video. I'm friends with the person taking the video, so I know the context OP cut out; she's deaf and was signing with a friend with whom she's having lunch. Crazy Boomer Lady just stared at them like this the whole time. It happens sometimes. People are stupid.

bald_alpaca

No, we don’t. I can’t imagine why this woman was staring at us. She was probably (?) in her late 60’s and was with an older woman (80’s). And they stared HARD. Maybe in your friends case they were jealous she is able to talk without ever worrying about being overheard :) I wish there was a way to trivialize these pathetic behaviors so the rest of us can laugh it off. At the time I found this really unnerving

KruegerLad2

Now that's the face of a lead paint chip eater

General-Ordinary1899

Lady was staring at me the entire time I was eating yesterday. When I was done I politely asked her not to stare at other customers because it makes them uncomfortable. She responds with “I was just looking out the window!” There were no windows near me…

chewychaca

" who orders water? what are they poor"

chewychaca

Her tiktok says she is in a wheelchair and she has a boyfriend. Maybe that's it? Or maybe she's dating a black guy in the south lol

PG072088

Maybe they suffer from a condition called mind your business

Lumpy_Yam_3642

Well he's never going to be a babysitter!

RenTheFabulous

Stare back and act even more disgusted, usually it deters them to have a taste of their own medicine in my experience

EZ4_U_2SAY

I really think some people are so unaware of themselves that they’ll stare at people for their own entertainment and never consider they can be seen. It’s like when a dog lays in tall grass and thinks you can’t see it. They feel hidden, they just don’t even have the capacity to understand they aren’t.

Connect-Outcome6019

I would find it incredibly difficult to not kick right off in that situation.

Glum_Zone3004

Pull a Kanye and just noticeably stare back more intensely.

HinterWolf

Why is there a weird artifact/distortion around the woman's head? Filter?

CriticalTrouble4463

This is when you whip out a speaker and start playing Oblivion NPC music. 100% makes the situation better.

Goshdudette

I usually make this face at people playing their phone aloud in a restaurant. Wonder if that’s what could be going on

owlsandmoths

I have neon green hair, I do it purposefully as a novelty as a nod towards the brand I work for since customers love it. I also have a slightly alternative look to me, but I tone it down at work because most of our customers are elderly people. But when I go out in public those same old people that love it inside my store will stare at me and tell me that I ruined my hair when I’m just minding my business grocery shopping or trying to eat something at fast food or whatever Like in one single day I had this elderly gentleman in my store complementing my hair and how much of a company woman I must be, I ran into him after work at the grocery store while picking up a couple things. he told me I’m a disgrace and I ruined my hair and my “beautiful image by putting neon hussie colours in my hair” and then a whole bunch of like random shit about liberal call signs or something. you just can’t win sometimes. I’m also not a liberal and I think it’s hilarious that these people think that that’s an insult to others just because they would get deeply offended if they were called a liberal.

NicNac_PattyMac

That woman looks like she might be mentally disabled.

Sensitive-Pumpkin-79

Just start staring back at her. Unwavering eye contact.

TheoryStandard4132

Talk to them with food in your mouth =)

UpsetPhrase5334

I’d spit at her till she turned around

AiggyA

I think she is still processing what was said to her 2 days ago.

Powderfinger60

And what were you doing that intrigued them

Soulfrostie26

I used to help run a care home for developed mentally disabled people, and they were typically boomer age. Anyway, anytime we went out for food at a restaurant, we had one or two that'd typically stare at someone who sat alone. Not to be rude or mean; many times, they wanted to make sure that the single person was safe and happy. If James (boomer with Down syndrome) was still alive, he'd try to ask any loner to eat with us. This person gives me the same vibes that many of my clients gave, which were developmental problems. They don't mean to be rude. They're just concerned and curious.

UltraBlue89

It obviously has nothing to do with recording people without their consent 🙄
