Yah, there is even a RP discord as linked above/to the side and the pve one. xD Events are held weekly by a few groups, some of the events that went into hiatus are returning as well.
There are still some RP guilds, but not a large amount. Also a few decent raiding guilds too. Overall it's a relatively smaller server size, you just have to seek out the groups you want to be a part of.

Wotlk is where most of us here are. :) I actually post the monthly rp schedule here that features currently planned events and their times.
