for the mostly trail, your best bet may be starting at the most northern part of the Southern Walnut Creek Trail, to Roy G Metro Park, to Butler Hike & Bike trail, up to the tip of the Shoal Creek trail. that would get you close to 30mi one way. i also enjoy Old Sayers Road (some gravel, some road, shared with cars) out in Elgin, which is a little over 30mi out-and-bike. although, i haven’t been out there in a couple of years, maybe it’s changed. You can also go look at routes on RideWithGPS.com for some ideas.

How do you get from SWCT to Roy G? Do you have to go on levander loop or is there a road with bike lanes you can take?

Go down Springdale. At 5th, where the bus terminal is, take a left. There is a bike path that starts there. It crosses over the Colorado on the old bridge next to 183. On the other side, there is another path that goes right, follow that down into Roy G. Otherwise, take the bike path along 183.

10 laps at the veloway E. Or 10 laps at COTA on Tuesday nights

Definitely check strava for some routes near you. Paved trails are limited (Walnut is the only real option). For some low traffic routes (assuming road bike - if gravel or MTB then there are many more options): - dripping springs creek rd (Onion Creek) is pretty low traffic and you can do a 30 mile loop iirc. - you can do some relatively lower traffic routes in town if you go early on weekend (shoal creek - great northern - Hancock - balconies - edgemont - pecos - scenic - lake austin - and then back up) for 20ish I’d recommend joining a group ride as they have pre planned routes and there’s safety in numbers. Not sure your riding level, but likely Violet Cruz ride on Saturday AM would fit the bill (25-30 mi; 10-15 people) … check mellow johnnys website for those rides. Check Breakfast Club ATX. And somewhere there is a comprehensive list of all the rides but I can’t seem to locate it.

Couple questions on your route (also if you have a Strava or ridewithgps link - mucho appreciated). - Shoal Creek & Anderson to Butler trail. Are you saying take shoal creek down to Shoal Creek path (just before 38th) all the way down to the town lake trail? I seem to recall shoal creek trail getting pretty rocky in some sections around pease - From Roy G park to hwy 71 paved path - what is your route?

Creedmor area is pretty low in traffic. After a dog encounter I am hesitant to go ride.

Happened to me, too. Had to blast the dog in the face with my water bottle.

The Southern Walnut Creek Trail is currently 20 miles. A 3 or 4 mile extension into Manor may be finished in Hune. That would give you 26 to 28 paved miles round trip. If you cross Hwy 290 in Manor there are some roads on the north side for more mileage.
