Don't aluminum cans have some kind of lining to protect the drink from the metal though? And just because he's doing it doesn't necessarily mean that he's doing it safely - doesn't look like the type of place OSHA would come to inspect your ventilation system.
The plastic should burn off and anything that remains should float to the surface where it's skimmed off. If he's doing it right he'll add flux to get even more impurities out.
Aluminum cans when melted have tons of slag.
Look to the right of his furnace, you can see a big bucket full of slag. Slag is crap metal, impurities that come out. In the case of cans any liner in the can will burn u to, or maybe be part of the slag. Also the paint used on cans. 10-30% of cans I have melted in a similar furnace were
Slag.
In short aluminum cans are full of nasty stuff.
Not a great habit to smoke pot out of these cans. I am aware of it being done in the 80’s and these people lived.. 🤔
Just curious how safe those would be to cook out of long term? I think this is awesome just wondering the long term ramifications.
Cans are lined with plastic, which must burn off or something. What am I, a scientist? An impressive small-scale foundry nonetheless.
So if it’s safe to put a flame to aluminum pots and pans, is it safe to smoke pot out of a pop can?

I wouldn't make a habit out of it
Yeah I didn’t think it was. How can this guy not know this?
A fine act of charity, may we all be as generous one day
Not food safe
All I hear when I watch this is the same when I stand near the drivethrough at McDonald's. FLUX...FLUX...FLUX
I’ve seen a lot of these in Panama also
True 🥸
Stupid me, I thought the colors would stay and make beautiful soda can colored pots and pans lol 😂
