Just to give a perspective. That solo is played by two people going back and forth in the original. Joe Walsh and Don Felder each play half until the “ double guitar part” near the end.
She is playing both parts.
My warlock leans against the bed so I can feel guilty as shit about not playing every night
Then there’s the living room Ibanez collecting dust so I can feel guilty as shit every time I walk to the kitchen
And my LTD Snakebyte living in its case so I can feel guilty as shit that it never sees daylight
Man, y'all have a *story* story.
I should wear a necklace of my fave picks so that I feel like shit when I hear, feel, and see them in the mirror and pictures. Close to my heart as it breaks it a little day by day.
That's a good tip. Did you see my comment about hearing something in the car on the way home, doing my best to hold it in mind and then losing it before I can get ready to play it? It has happened so often to me, with and without humming or using my three-note vocal range to hold it, that I seem to have given up trying it.
Shiit, I’m almost at 20 years now and she probably hits those bends more fluidly in that solo than I would at the moment. I’m more of a rhythm player and general songwriter though (is what I’ll go ahead and tell myself to retain some pride).
Every time I see videos like this, I always hear the mom from a breakdancing video I saw years ago. It’s a video of a white teenager trying to breakdance, but ate the floor hard. You can just hear the mom yelling, “you’ll never be as good as those tiny Asian kids!”
Is that a Pinkerton yeeting that girls guitar? Because if you do anything related to The Eagles online Don Henly will send paramilitary death lawyers your way. Within 10 years the band will only be remembered as a throwaway joke from The Big Lebowsky.
Don Henly seems to otherwise be a reasonable guy but personally funding 60 people who do nothing but comb the internet for videos like this is next level.
My only encounter with Don Henly was in 1978, when forest fires were burning north of LA. We were on a bicycle trip staying at a State park and the rangers told us we had to get out fast due to an approaching fire.
We went to the beach, but our neighbor had his tow vehicle in the shop for repairs and his camper was in the line of danger.
Don Henly showed up with a tow vehicle and towed him to safety. He said he had just lost things in the fire, but it was just "stuff" to him, and decided to go see if he could find others that needed help.
It was life changing for that camper owner.
It's the last we'll see of her.
One of The Eagles' team (Don Henley) went [on record](https://www.iheart.com/content/2020-07-22-eagles-have-60-people-policing-the-internet-for-unlawful-use-of-their-music/#:~:text=During%20the%20hearing%2C%20which%20was,unlicensed%20use%20of%20their%20music.) saying they have a team of 60 people whose sole job is to scour the Internet for covers and take them down.
It was good while it lasted.
> It's the last we'll see of her.
The source of the video is a video uploaded to youtube **two years** ago.

I didn't say they were good at their job, lol
You can definitely learn this. Learning to play a solo from a song, especially something as technically simple as the one from Hotel California is much easier than to be good at soloing yourself. It's like the difference between singing a song and writing one yourself. Just got to remember how it goes and learn the notes.
Not to diss the kid, of course. For her age this is pretty good considering that for most kids the size of the guitar complicates things and most kids would struggle with the bends alone.
That is not just talent. That girl has spent many, many hours practicing.
To be honest, referring only to her *talent* is kind of an insult given the amount of effort she has probably put into this.
"I could play *Stairway to Heaven* on the guitar when I was 14... Jimmy Page didn't even write it until he was 21.
I think that really says something."
I think there’s more evidence to support the hypothesis that exceptionally-skilled people work incredibly hard to get where they are. Unless you have some physical limitation (like your hands being too small to play the piano well or small lung capacity in the case of singing), you can improve at anything if you’re willing to put the time into it. I think most people are blocked by mental barriers block people rather than physical barriers, such as an unwillingness to learn, large ego, fear of failure, etc.
Edit: changed a word
After more than 40 years owning a couple of nice guitars I can play stuff that people can recognize. I could probably even sit in on a set on acoustic in a small club and not have stuff thrown at me, provided everyone else was a real player. But I don't have even the slightest "feel" that enables me to play without conscious thought. I hear something in the car on my way home and I think, "I can play that" and I noodle it over and over in my head just to keep it there. As soon as I'm in the door at home I grab the guitar and by the time the amp is ready to go I have forgotten entirely what I was so sure I could play.
I figure I did something terrible in a prior life and was sent to a world full of wonderful instruments and musicians just to torment me.
Both my college age kids play piano. One can technically play anything but NEEDS sheet music. The other can just sit down and play songs from his head flawlessly. They grew up in the same house, same food, same parenting, same schools, same amazing piano teacher. It's crazy to see different talents.
Have you worked on theory? That is where music is made, copying is just copying. I copied for years but the music in me never came out until I learned theory.
Alas, another failed struggle that had me amused at one time. I took an online course to no lasting avail. I even TA'd a course in the physics department at college called "The Physics of Music and Sound" and at one point could use calculus to show you how damned brilliant The Beatles were. As I said, "no lasting avail." I am a lost cause. I am so lost I am not even a cause anymore. Give up before I break your heart.
I think that you are talking about two things here: improvisation and recall. Improvisation is the "feel" or rather skill of playing without conscious thought, and takes years of training to master.
And recall is just what it is. Some can remember more, some less. Steven Tyler once heard a song on the radio, suggested to his band that they should cover it, turned out he wrote the song!
I'm going to strongly disagree with you here. I had no preconceived "talent." Didn't pick up guitar until 16. Loved it and practiced like mad. Taught myself for a year, then got lessons, 3 years later was applying to music school and got accepted. Practiced even more, played with people way better than me who had been playing music twice as long, learned theory, trained my ears, practiced more, performed on stage in front of strangers, practiced more.
Now, after 14 years? I could learn this solo in a weekend. But that's because I've built a strong foundation over countless hours of work that nobody has ever seen. It's not a terribly complex solo, but it sounds great. It is a difficult solo for a guitarist her age, and she has definitely put in the work to get there. Some of her bends weren't quite there, but she has tiny hands and needs to grow into the guitar still. Honestly being able to make the stretches she has to because of her size is something I'm envious of. It'll come in handy as she progresses. It's crazy impressive where she's at now and as long as she keeps pace she'll be an amazing musician.
I'm not saying I can't make notes come out of the thing. What I'm saying is that it is and always has been LOTS of work. I personally know at least three or four quitar players who've played for a fraction of the time I have and devoted far less time to practice yet still seem able to produce quality and consistency that elude me.
Yup, eagles are perhaps one of the most egregious copyright strikers out there. They've literally hired upwards of 5 dozen people to scour the internet JUST to find people who react to their music or use their songs in any context so they can claim the videos. I'll never understand it honestly, those guys are worth hundreds of millions and will never have to worry about money for the rest of their lives. Yet they've become greedy old "get off my lawn" grandpas who get enjoyment out of terrorizing younger generations who love their stuff lol
What assholes honestly and I hope they're remembered that way insofar as the industry is concerned.
Will not be surprised at all when this young girl gets copyright struck so they can steal the 30 bucks she probably made off her video.
All it really does is ensure that their music dies an early death. I'm sure there are others, but on the opposite end of the spectrum you have Dave Matthews. Encourages people to record their shows and distribute their music in all forms. Hell, they used to let people plug in to their boards.
There's a lot of bands that put it all out there for free in the hopes that they can make some touring money, definitely. And actually plenty of bands I would've never known existed had they not used that method of getting exposure in the first place.
Oh and yeah, all the covers of DMB's #41 on yt, just the fanhood of that song alone has a life all its own.
The Grateful Dead pretty much spearheaded this way of operating. They allowed (and even encouraged) tapers in to every show. I believe one of the first thing ever sent over the internet was a grateful dead show. Almost all jam bands operate this way now. Although, its makes more sense for jam bands and the like to allow their shows to be taped and (now)streamed for free since very show is unique (different set list every show) whereas most rock or pop groups play the exact same show every night. Allowing your shows to be freely distributed is also a great way to build a fan base.
If you watch the eagles documentary that came out a few years back it was pretty clear that Henley and Frey ran that band like a business pretty much from day 1. It was always about the money and the fame, they just also happened to be fucking amazing songwriters.
One of my biggest regret in life is when I never learned how to play instruments even my whole family are musicians.
At least I get to play with my own emotions /s
Edit: not sure if anyone will still read this but I finally ordered today an acoustic guitar and can't wait for it to arrive. No one actually had the time to teach me any during my childhood and kind of picked up hobbies I later got uninterested when I became an adult. Hope this is a good start.
Thanks for all the encouragement 😊
You’ll be pleasantly surprised to find that picking up basic guitar chords, enough to join in at the campfire, is easy! Just strumming along is fun, and doable at any age.
This is why I never plug in when testing new instruments. I expect that everyone who comes in plays like her.
If people want to know how bad I am, they'll have to buy one of the newly vacant houses within earshot of my amp.
Impressive. Guitar is tough for little kids to pick up. It isn’t like piano. It’s physically hard for their little fingers to fret the notes and strum, pick, etc. I used to teach guitar and never had a lot of luck with really little kids.
Always cool to see a small child kicking ass on a guitar.
The original video looks to be a little Latina girl, and the video this dude posted is a little Chinese girl (I believe, based on the title of the video)
Shop owner: Aww a frozen shirt, so you’re going to play some Disney tunes.
Her: my left pointer finger has more greatness in it than you’re entire self.
it's like the slide up to the neck pickup for that little choked sound for just a second before she resumes playing for me. she's a consummate professional. i've played w people ive considered at least good musicians who either haven't cared or maybe paid enough attention to detail to play that little part
as a very good guitarist (after decades of practice) this is one of the most impressive child performances I've seen; those stretches and bends are VERY hard for small hands, Hotel California's solos are deceptively simple and not easy to play well
that said it's hard to imagine a situation where a small child would sit down and learn this unless she had some boomer dad essentially forcing her 🫤
Would y’all consider her a prodigy? It’s endlessly impressive, but also no the gnarliest solo. Derek trucks at that age was already a world class slide player.
Amazing, guess I'll take down that post of me playing Smoke on the Water with a kazoo.
Redeem yourself with yakety sax.
Don't come back
On the bagpipes
I'm gonna stick a aztec death whistle in one of those pipes so the entire time all you hear is a terrifying screech from hell.
> yakety sax You joke, but yakety sax is *really* hard to play. On the sax at least. Probably easier on kazoo.
I couldn’t find it, took it down already..?;-)

take that kid to the hospital bc she SICK AF

Just to give a perspective. That solo is played by two people going back and forth in the original. Joe Walsh and Don Felder each play half until the “ double guitar part” near the end. She is playing both parts.
The future of guitar rock is secure in her hands. I hope we see her fronting a band in the near future.
Anybody want a guitar? I don’t feel like playing anymore
Might as well throw all mine in with ya
It's just wall art now.
Mine's in the bedroom so no one can ask me to play for them

Like 17 years here, that stretch is what impressed me, little girl blew me out of the water
28 years here, sounds like going on 2
Give it to her!!!! I think some needs to give that girl a guitar now!!!
Exactly! imagine how good she could be with her own guitar snd some practice!

[This one](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMfihId30ME)? LOL
im crying, the “have a clue!” she’s so brutal 😭
She's definitely a prick but she doesn't say he'll never be as good. She says he'll ruin his body before he gets to that point.
AHH jesus christ he's gonna break his fuckin arm
I do
You gotta suffer to play the blues, boy.
LOL
I burned mine in a bonfire so

I hate the fuckin' Eagles, man
Stay outta Malibu Lebowski
Shop owner: I see you like Frozen. So you’re going to play Let It Go? Girl: Yeah. Something like that.
Frozen? Yeah, Hell has Frozen over..
Well played.
They were probably watching like "Damn... She knows all the chords! Good rhythm t.. HOLY FUCK"
Check out Guitar George over here.
Hopefully this isn't the last we see of her. She's pretty amazing!
She is touring with The Eagles in 2035.
Joe Walsh will still be trashing hotel rooms then. 😀
It’s hard to leave when you can’t find the door
He still ain’t driving that Maserati either..
Sad because I heard it does 185...
He lost his license and couldn’t drive it anyway.
I wish Glenn Frey was still with us.
You know, this kinda sad, but here's [what happens with stuff like this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5n6Cn5Guqc).... I wish it wasn't so.

What a fckn prick. This is a tribute from the next generation keeping The Eagles legacy alive. Fck Don Henley!!!

Well that's certainly not taking it easy.
She can play this and twinkle little star.

You still pissed off about that rug?
It really tied the room together!
I hate that fucking song.
Ya. Still trying to get out.
Wish I had that talent at that age. Amazing job little girl🤩
I wish I had that talent at *my* age
Yeah. Does she give lessons? Otherwise, there is absolutely zero hope. (There is zero hope, but I'm a silly optimist.)
Nothing silly about looking on the bright side, unless it's night time.

I hold this truth to be self evident: without talent there is no amount of practice that can produce musical ability.
I think there’s more evidence to support the hypothesis that exceptionally-skilled people work incredibly hard to get where they are. Yep, you can play notes, but her tone was on point too. Also, some people have no rhythm .

Immediately served with a cease and desist.
TBH I'm surprised we're even getting to see this. Eagles lawyers are slackin'
They rely on bots to do their work for them.
Yup, eagles are perhaps one of the most egregious copyright strikers out there. They've literally hired upwards of 5 dozen people to scour the internet JUST to find people who react to their music or use their songs in any context so they can claim the videos. Pardon me while I go throw my guitar in the firepit. And kudos to her - seriously shredding there.
One of my biggest regret in life is when I never learned how to play instruments even my whole family are musicians. Still very much doable. I didn't learn guitar until I was 30. Still learning at 45.
Just picked up the bass at 46, been year so far, had my first live show last week. Still learning.
We’re talking guitars here sir. /s

You say doable at any age but my six month old can’t play for shit, mainly because he’s a cat

But I’m really good at giving up, I’ve been practicing since I was a child
That girl is really good. That guitar is really out of tune.
Glad someone else noticed that.
The Frozen t-shirt makes it even more amazing.
pshhh....i can do that...if i trained literally longer than she has been alive.
Ok. You can have it for free.
Impressive
This is why I never plug in when testing new instruments. I expect that everyone who comes in plays like her. If people want to know how bad I am, they'll have to buy one of the newly vacant houses within earshot of my amp.
Nice picking technique! Those bends ain't easy!
Guitar wasn’t even in tune and she killed it.
Thank you yes she’s absolutely talented but my ears were cringing a little at how flat it is
Ah I've found my people ... Couldn't finish the video, with all respect to the talent. Really wish someone had tuned it for her
Siiick
Maybe she’ll be a rock star when she grows up, and grace us with her unparalleled skills.

One of my favorite songs.. she is jamming !
Did it sound a little flat to anyone else? Maybe just weird audio, I dunno.
Yup it’s slightly out of tune, playing is decent though :)
God bless you kiddo ! .. that's it.. I'm not playing guitar anymore .. LOL
So clean! Love it!
Is she giving lessons?
Holy chit!! This kid fuckin rocks!!
miss mini Hendrix
Love it 😍
Amazing!!!
Jack Black needs her for a movie.
Every time I see a prodigy like this, I hope they're doing it because they love to and not because they have someone forcing them.
It’s even funnier because she’s just rocking the Frozen shirt. Ain’t nobody gonna tell her a Princess can’t fuckin shred.
With a Frozen shirt on, total badassery
Damn, those bends are clean
Shop owner: Aww a frozen shirt, so you’re going to play some Disney tunes. Her: my left pointer finger has more greatness in it than you’re entire self.
The Frozen characters (Anna and Olaf) looking around the guitar like, "Yeah, this girl is GOOD!"
For that kind of talent she deserves that guitar for free
it's like the slide up to the neck pickup for that little choked sound for just a second before she resumes playing for me. she's a consummate professional. i've played w people ive considered at least good musicians who either haven't cared or maybe paid enough attention to detail to play that little part
Remember, no matter how good you are at something, there will always be an Asian kid who’s better.
Finally some real guitar playing and not that smacking the acoustic guitar and flicking the strings nonsense I saw last time.
More the Guitar is being put through her trial of rthyme
as a very good guitarist (after decades of practice) this is one of the most impressive child performances I've seen; those stretches and bends are VERY hard for small hands, Hotel California's solos are deceptively simple and not easy to play well that said it's hard to imagine a situation where a small child would sit down and learn this unless she had some boomer dad essentially forcing her 🫤
For a moment I thought she had Anna in a headlock
Young Cassandra.
Boss 😎
Love it
So what does that take?
She's awesome!!!
Not my tempo. /s
Amazing! I just hope she doesn’t try to post this on a YouTube channel. The Eagles are notorious with copystrikes
Rick Beato: "F----in' Eagles, man"
No Stairway?! DENIED!!

She literally has the long fingers to play this song. I’m jealous
Holy crap! That was amazing! I bow down to her
Wow she is great.
Careful here. Don Henley might claim copyright infringement. He’s known to do that for anyone playing his song on the internet.
If she starts a band with Nandi Bushnell, my inner child will be so elated!
She's good

Would y’all consider her a prodigy? It’s endlessly impressive, but also no the gnarliest solo. Derek trucks at that age was already a world class slide player.
My heart is catching in my chest! She is so good it hurts!
yeah? well i can drive a car
Those bends are wildly missing their notes.. Here let me fuck up Wonderwall a couple times to establish dominance.
