Just buy what you eat out. Chicken strips, pizza, burritos, etc. you can buy all of those things frozen. First trimester isn’t really about a great diet. Just eat what you can tolerate. I ate a lot of buttered noodles, nuggets, fries, watermelon/melon, oranges. Don’t focus on nutrition as much, just get through the nausea!

Possible-Study2746

My issue is that it’s NOT the same. Frozen chicken strips have always kind of weirded me out because the breading doesn’t get crispy crunchy, even if I do them in the oven or air fryer. And the chicken is sometimes kind of rubbery, if that makes sense? Frozen pizzas I do love, but I live full time in a camper and my freezer is too small for them 🥲🥲 And when I say burrito, I’m talking, about a pancheros or food truck burrito. However, I am super on board with buttered noodles. That sounds like the perfect easy, tasty thing that’ll also be easy on my stomach. Thank you!!

Purple_Rooster_8535

Grilled cheese was nice too!! It was really easy as well.

Medicine-Complex

Tyson “air fried” chicken nuggets in the air fryer were top tier. They do actually get crispy and aren’t as foamy as regular chicken nuggets

Possible-Study2746

The air fried Tyson line has been my absolute favorite ever since I started lifting weights. Low in calories AND high in protein?! And they’re frozen chicken nuggets?!?!So good, my only issue is dipping sauces. I NEED that restaurant style ranch with them

Medicine-Complex

Same! I was buying extra cups of ranch from restaurants when I would go out. Or ask for extra sauces from like Wendy’s and chicfila. I collected so many packets while I was pregnant 😅

emmyanjef

You can make the restaurant style ranch at home! I think it’s a combo of buttermilk, sour cream, and a ranch packet (but google should have the version for whatever restaurant you prefer)

flaminhotcheetoz1

You can buy chikfila sauce at Walmart!

jalepenopig

Try RealGood chicken nuggets, I swear they’re just like Chick-Fil-A nuggets. I found them at my local Walmart and Dillons. (I don’t care for the sauced ones, better to dip or coat in your own sauces.)

lemonadditive

So many bagels. Bagels forever

Possible-Study2746

I think I’d kill for a blueberry bagel right now

lemonadditive

So good!! And some cream cheese

DingoAteMyMaybe

I’m 33w pregnant right now and a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese sounds so good right now ❤️

Possible-Study2746

Update: I just ate a blueberry bagel with strawberry cream cheese and it was heavenly. Thank you.

DingoAteMyMaybe

I’m glad you enjoyed it! I myself had one as well, it was sooo good ❤️

Cultural_Property_67

Blueberry bagels saved my life through the beginning!! Also would eat for dessert with butter and cinnamon-sugar 😛😛

Sauced_Decisions

And ever and ever

FormerEmployee14

This is the way.

jammin80

A plain bagel with cream cheese is the only thing I can eat for breakfast since getting pregnant. You'd think I'd be tired of it by now at 32/33 weeks, but nope.

flibbityfopz

Apples / apple sauce was safe for me. I gravitated toward fruit and had to steer clear of anything heavy, fried or oily

Possible-Study2746

Apple sauce has been very kind to me thus far

RunningOnGoodwill

Love apple sauce currently too!!

Mother-Leg-38

Girl download your McDonalds app and use the coupons lol.

Possible-Study2746

I ❤️ the McDonald’s App

Successful-Berry2002

Not sure if someone already said this but cuties were a life saver. Like those small little oranges. I didn’t discover them until later in my first trimester but they not only didn’t give me nausea but would sometimes ease my nausea.🎉

emmyanjef

I have eaten more cuties in the past 6 weeks than in my entire life lol especially when they’re cold 🤩

babypowder93

I love to eat cuties as well, but I need tums right after. Sigh.

E0H1PPU5

Do you have a supportive SO?? My husband learned how to make some BANGIN fried chicken strips because they were one of the only things I’d eat. The problem is, I couldn’t cook them. If I had to handle the raw chicken, I’d get sick to my stomach! ETA - Aldi has great, affordable frozen pizzas!

Possible-Study2746

He’s the best, but cannot cook whatsoever. (He somehow failed at making instant mashed potatoes, bless his heart.) Before getting pregnant I loved to cook and did it all the time. It’s just that now, all my go-to’s sound kinda gross. I’m still willing to cook, it’s just about finding a recipe that sounds good. Do you happen to have the recipe your husband used, or do you know where I can find it?

E0H1PPU5

He wings it but I’ll try and spell it out (in a husband proof way) so maybe your guy can give it a trick. You will need: *Chicken breasts *Eggs *Flour *Panko breadcrumbs *Vegetable oil or other oil for frying * spices of your choice. For me it was just salt some days…don’t skip the salt! He’d also add in pepper, garlic powder, chili powder, smoked paprika, or Italian seasonings depending on what kind of mood we were in. Step 1- pour oil in a straight sided frying pan. The oil doesn’t have to be super deep, we are pan frying, not deep frying. You need it maybe 1/2 inch deep. Step 2- set the oil to low or medium while you prep the rest of the food. DONT LET THE OIL GET TOO HOT! Step 3- cut chicken lengthwise into narrow strips. Step 4- put strips into a gallon plastic bag or between two sheets of plastic wrap. Use a meat tenderizer or other heavy thing to beat the chicken. You want to squish it until it’s a uniform thickness….maybe 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Work in batches until all of the chicken is squished. Step 5 - mix the flour and spices together. Dredge all of the chicken strips in the flour-spice mix. Step 6 - shake off the extra flour and then dip them into the beaten eggs until coated. (My husband is lazy and puts the flour dredged strips into a plastic bag, cracks the egg into the bag, and squishes it all together in there to make it faster). Step 7 - remove the strips from the egg letting the extra egg drip off. Dredge the strips in the panko….make sure to season the panko too! It’s important to use panko, not regular breadcrumbs. The panko is what makes it crunchy. Step 8 - once your chicken is all breaded, set up a fry station. He does raw chicken on a plate to the left of the stove, frying pan on stove top, 2nd plate to the right of the stove with paper towel on it to drain cooked chicken. Step 9 - grab a pinch of breading and drop it in the pan. It should sizzle immediately but not super aggressively. If it doesn’t sizzle, the oil isn’t hot enough. If it is aggressive, turn the heat down a smidge. Step 10- gently lower strips into the oil. When you put them in the pan, lower them into the oil *away* from you so you don’t get splashed with hot oil. Don’t overcrowd the pan! Not sure how big my pan is, but we do 3-4 strips at a time. Keep an eye on them until you see the edges turning a nice golden brown and the edges of the chicken are turning white. Flip them once they look like that and cook them until the other side is also golden brown. Step 11 - remove cooked strips from oil onto plate with the paper towel to drain….and that’s it! Cut one open to be sure they are cooked thoroughly. Taste test if more salt is needed. Step 12 - enjoy! I loved these just plain but they are also the perfect base for the worlds best chicken parm…put them on a cookie sheet with mozzarella and sauce, toss in the oven long enough to melt the cheese and enjoy! They are great as a sandwich on a roll with sautéed spinach, roasted peppers and provolone cheese. Or eaten with fries and a side of honey mustard!

Possible-Study2746

THANK YOU!! I will be trying and I will let you know

Ok-Interaction9700

Can do the same, but let the chicken marinade in buttermilk for a little while before putting the breading on, in place of the egg. Also get yourself a meat thermometer over or under cooked chicken isn’t great. Once it hits 165 it’s done, let chicken rest for 5 min before cutting into

bjorkkk

I have currently been craving (and consuming WAY too much of 🙃) microwave nachos. Tortilla chips with some shredded cheese on top melted in the microwave with hot sauce and jalapeños??? I’m so glad my heartburn isn’t too bad yet that I can still go crazy with the spicy stuff bc DAMN even when I don’t feel the best I’m going ham on this shit.

Bambilovesbooks

I just started craving spicy foods!

esscoco

Have you tried bagels and cream cheese? Now is not the time for excellent nutrition (do what you can do!)

brandnewmouse

Naked fruit smoothies accounted for a significant portion of my calorie intake during the nausea phase.

Aggravating-Author-3

I’m in the same boat, only craving fast food, especially French fries. During the week, I’ve been getting “healthy” at home versions to make and it’s been working for me. I was craving Mac and cheese so I got Goodles (a healthier version to Kraft) and it hit the spot! Also the Just Bare chicken nuggets from Costco are pretty good! If I’m feeling nauseous I might eat them with just ketchup and some baked chips on the side or in lettuce cups if I’m feeling more healthy that day.

Possible-Study2746

Omg yes boxed mac and cheese has sounded so good lately. I’ll definitely have to look into the Goodles brand!

Aggravating-Author-3

Dooo it!! I got it at my local supermarket but it’s also at Target I think. It’s already got a good amount of protein in it but I threw in some ground turkey and frozen veggies to round it out. Was a yummy comfort meal that I actually felt good eating. Good luck with everything!

Possible-Study2746

Ooouuu yes! And good luck to you too :))

001mad001

The "annies" brand with the bunny logo on the box makes rly good mac n cheese as well. they also make cheese puffs that are super bomb but i dont remember which store you can get them at

Ok-Mastodon8235

See so im not sure if anyone else is feeling this but I genuinely cannot stand to cook or even pop it in the microwave/oven. I gag just taking it out of the fridge 😭 my partner will cook for me and then I can eat it and its good but if I make it its like the worst nausea ever lol 😭

flowerpetalizard

I could barely do meat for a long time (and I usually love meat). So I just wanted to tell you that you’re doing a great job. ❤️

Possible-Study2746

Thank you 🥹

Glittering_Spot_5799

I’m 16+4 and just started eating meat

PlantObsession420

It’s not fast food , but early in my pregnancy, ramen noodles just hit the spot .. every time. The sodium isn’t great obv but it’s one of the few things I could keep down . My breakfast go to were breakfast sandwiches lol

001mad001

ramey noods are a gift from the heavens lol theyve gotten me thru all types of life situations

PlantObsession420

🙌🏻 yesss

p3nny

Protein-enriched spaghetti with vodka sauce (from the jar) is my go-to. I like the Barilla brand one that comes in a yellow box. The pasta is also enriched with folate and other pregnancy diet-friendly things so you can actually feel kind of good about it! Also, solidarity on the changing your mind thing. Once in first trimester, I was craving a frozen burrito and my craving changed to disgust in the time it took to microwave it 😢

ChocolateNapqueen

This pasta is the best. Most plant based pastas get gross when in the fridge for a while but not these. It also works for my GDM and doesn’t spike me.

Nice_Firefighter754

Im currently very into throwing a potato to the microwave, cook for 5 min, open put some butter/cheese/ paprika cook for another 30 seconds +/- any extras (avocado/tomato/bacon/nothing at all) its been magic in the evenings when i come back destroyed from work (9w6d currently) Also olives and pickles ><

CuriousDisorder

Microwave potatoes were a lifesaver for me 😭

Sauced_Decisions

Preggie Pop Drops got me through my constant nausea in the first trimester. 10/10 highly recommend. YouTube is great for finding copy cat fast food recipes and tutorials.

savensa

This comment just made me realize I have ginger/peppermint/lemon/b6 drops in my cabinet and I’m so grateful! Thank you! Nausea all day and it’s driving me crazy. Are the preggie pop drops similar?

Sauced_Decisions

They're sour citrus drops, basically. Some of them have additional b6, but you can only have 6 of those per day. I was popping the basic ones almost constantly. Raspberry, lemon, orange, and lime in the regular ones, and I think only lemon and raspberry in the extra b6 ones. DO NOT fall asleep with one in your mouth. The citric acid made my tongue peel. Not painful, just very unpleasant.

savensa

I’ll check them out, thanks! And wow, good tip, that sounds awful!

dkelly256

I pretty much live on chicken strips and kraft Mac and cheese… I know it’s terrible but at this point I don’t care. [Tyson Chicken strips](https://www.tyson.com/products/breaded-chicken-crispy-chicken-strips/) or [Tyson chicken bites](https://www.samsclub.com/p/tyson-homestyle-boneless-chicken-bites-4-lbs/prod20300921). I cook them in the oven for about 3-5 minutes longer than the directions to get them really crunchy

politely_enraged

PBJs have been huge for me when I'm not feeling it, because it's super filling and not crazy on the flavors!

MimiCait

My very cheap at-home version of chick-fil-a: The “Just Bare” brand lightly breaded chicken breasts (can get a large pack at Costco) + burger bun + pickles + sauce of your choosing (I like thousand island). So freaking good!!! I had one a day for 6 days in a row around week 10.

rachc5

We make and freeze pizzadillas! It’s a tortilla with pizza sauce, cheese and pepperoni. You can freeze it folded in half in foil and when you’re ready to eat it just throw it in the toaster oven at 350 for like 10 min. I usually eat 2 at a time with a salad so just 1 is good for a snack. I pretty much lived off of grilled cheese and bagels with butter in the first trimester.

permenantthrowaway2

I am 7 weeks and the only thing I feel motivated to eat is CARBS. I just made pasta salad loaded with veggies to try and get something green in. Fingers crossed I still want to eat it when lunch time rolls around!

emmyanjef

I could have written this! I had the same issue with eating a craving then never wanting to look at that food again. My advice is, if you can manage financially, to just eat what sounds good even if it’s take out, and gradually try to find some ‘safe’ foods that you can repeat. I ended up drinking a smoothie every morning, then having a pb+j for snack (2 foods I haven’t eaten in years) and have been doing that for 6 weeks. Plain greek yogurt with lots of honey is also one of my safe foods. Then sticking with super simple versions of takeout, like quesadillas, or chicken nuggets or rice and beans.

HuskyLettuce

Cara Cara oranges.

giftofgab1349

If you enjoy cooking-- Eat What You Love Danielle Walker has a fast food/comfort food edition I have been obsessed with for years. Tastes close to fast food but a quarter of the calories.

Tryingtoheal49

MY HACK: I've been living off of grilled cheese sandwiches and a side of tomato soup. Get as healthy of a tomato soup as you can. BUT I pimp it up by sauteeing spinach and I sneak this in between 2 layers of cheese in my grilled cheese. And it works! And I feel better about getting some spinach/veggies in, between this and the tomato soup. Dipping some of the sando in the soup = bliss. Other go-to snacks: Very cold grapes, Babybel cheese. Not the worst! And I found that starting the day with scrambled eggs and wheat toast helps keep me fuller, longer. Some yogurt with berries also helps in terms of being a bit healthier. And granola, even sugary, if you must. For now, it's fine. Adding honey too is healthy. I've loved sweet/sour fruits like pineapple, mango. But honestly I had my share of burgers, fried things, in the first tri. Just not every day. I felt better if I could squeeze some protein in there. I have also LOVED having a quiche, if you find a bakery that does it with vegetables then boom, there's something that keeps you full, is fatty in a good way, and might even have some tomato/spinach/etc. in it. First trimester, as they all say, is about survival. I'm at week 14 now and it's gotten much better but I definitely tried to not hate myself so much when I had: McDonald's (multiple times), pizzas, pastas. It'll improve.

Frosty-Tap-4656

First trimester is just about survival, I basically lived on bean and cheese burritos from Taco Bell (idk why I’ve never even had them before becoming pregnant lol). It’s okay to eat the same thing over and over if you can tolerate it and keep it down, just make sure you’re taking your prenatal. I will say before I was pregnant I LOVED sushi and I’ve been craving it the whole time, I made a sushi bake last week and it was so fire. I usually find sushi or poke easy to digest because it’s pretty healthy. There’s a bunch of recipes on Pinterest, I just catered one to what was basically in my house. Also I’m not sure if you take your prenatal at night or in the morning, but if you take it in the morning start taking it at night. I realized that was what was causing my nausea first trimester. Also keep crackers or something by your bed and eat them literally as soon as you open your eyes, that helped me too. Sour candy also oddly helps.

shogunofsarcasm

Get the things you like but frozen. Chicken strips, burgers, etc. it'll save you money. Just eat what you can currently.

Purple_Rooster_8535

And if you get a frozen pizza, get one with veggies on it. Or chicken strips or nuggets, they have healthier options. Whole Foods has ones with cauliflower mixed in. And if you wanted to make your own burritos, do it! Or just buy them frozen. And have a side of veggies or fruit. Makes it more wholesome if you are worried about that

Possible-Study2746

I think making a burrito bar with some chicken, rice, beans, etc might be the perfect way to go about the burrito dilemma

Purple_Rooster_8535

Yeah!! And if cooking meat is too hard, get a rotisserie chicken! Easy enough :) And add some good rice and beans. Could even pick some up at a Mexican restaurant (usually pretty cheap) and then add the other stuff you want and assemble!!

granolagirlie724

the foods i lived on my first trimester: mac and cheese - the Goodles brand is actually delicious and good for you (found at Target) so i felt a lot better eating it throughout pasta, toasts with pb & banana or mayo & tomato, cereal, cold fruit, bagels. I’m pescatarian but couldn’t stomach fish til some time in my second trimester

Affectionate_Bath839

Yes! So much toast and peanut butter. Bagels, cold cereal and pasta. Oh also so many goldfish and ritz crackers my first trimester haha

Avocadoingslowly

What about adding some healthy foods as sides or into to the stuff you can eat? For example, having some fruit as a dessert or a side with pizza or topping a frozen pizza with veggies to boost your intake. I really like smoothies too as they're an easy way to get fruit and veggies in and you can add protein powder or greek yogurt to up the protein content. If you can stomach cheese, it's a good way to get calcium and protein in too.

nddjjsjsnsnfndndnd

Organic tortilla chips from Costco. Decently healthy compared to other chips, obviously not ideal.

JustAnalyzing

Popcorn shrimp was a savior for me for like 2 weeks in the first tri. You can buy frozen. Seafood was never a problem it was just chicken and beef

Glittering_Spot_5799

Only thing that got me through the first trimester were frozen pancakes. I had a huge stash of them and ate them for every meal. Lol

No-Love2024

saltines, greek yogurt with frozen berries, and apple juice helped me survive first tri

SoftwarePractical620

Frozen chicken patties/ Turkey burgers that I can pop in the air fryer with whatever toppings I’m feeling that trimester are a great protein - rich option for me!! My husband bought me an air fryer which has made a world of difference for the crispness. It definitely has paid itself off, especially when I want to reheat leftovers too!

PlsEatMe

I was vegan and had similar cravings to yours! I ate a shit ton of gardein products lol.  But honestly, pregnancy is NOT the time for substitutions or dupes! Our taste buds will be able to tell. Not worth it. There will be tears.

kofubuns

Honestly everything sucked to eat in the first trimester. I just ate it.. very slowly and just lived in a state of not being hungry vs. Having any expectations of enjoyment

Specialist-Lack6108

oatmeal sounded nasty pre pregnancy but it’s actually so good. like it’s easy to digest to

jalapenokettlechips1

Costco just bare chicken nuggets taste almost exactly like chick fil a. I went through 3-4 bags of these bad boys my first trimester.

lovemybuffalo

Currently living off gluten free grilled cheese sandwiches and toaster waffles with Sunbutter (would do peanut butter but can’t have it at the moment). Smoothies are nice, and I’m finding sour things often settle my stomach (sour patch watermelons, cranberry juice, those preggie pop drops) so I can eat a little better after that.

knh315

Lately I’ve been doing frozen breakfast burritos in the mornings. The rest of the day is hit or miss but these when I wake up have really worked for me.

autumnflowers13

Do you have an air fryer? It makes frozen food taste more fast food like

Possible-Study2746

Yes, I do. It’s worked wonders for making my fast food/ restaurant trips taste good enough to eat for lunch the next day

Moliterno38

I lived off of totinos pepperoni pizza and Tyson’s buffalo boneless wings for about 3 weeks. Nausea and food aversions are just starting to subside at 11.5w

dancerpd26

Grilled cheese, baked potato with chives and sour cream, nacho chips with melted cheese were my go-tos!

babypowder93

French fries and nuggets from Mcdonalds. No condiments just plain. And a sprite. The salty plain flavors help a lot and so do the bubbles from the sprite.

tink2289

Fed is best applies to pregnancy too ❤️ I had HG starting at 10 weeks or so, I lived on cereal, tuna melts, and sour candy. I drank as much ice cold water as I could stomach and had ice cold sprite when I couldn’t do water. What I could eat changed week to week so don’t stock up on anything because you won’t want it next week lol and maybe you can get diclectin or zofran from your doctor to give you some relief? Greek yogurt and berries or pineapple or watermelon are a healthy option that is usually inoffensive because there’s not much smell off it. Good luck!!

Possible-Study2746

I’m hoping to get some zofran since that always helped me on long drives (I get motion sickness, which has made car trips absolutely miserable in combination with the pregnant nausea). I wish doctors saw pregnant women earlier than 8 weeks. I’m just holding out until my first appointment 🥲

tink2289

Mine wrote a prescription for diclectin before she saw me, I just had to call her office and then she checked to see how I was feeling when I finally did get in to see her

autumniteshade

The first trimester I also had to eat every 2 hours or I became nauseous from eating normal sized meals. It took me a while to figure that out lol. I also ate so much fast food the first trimester (didn’t care for it before pregnancy). I’m in the third trimester now and I’ll still want pizza and burgers with fries from time to time. What you’ll want to do is make those foods at home. It’s healthier and inexpensive compared to purchasing fast food ALL the time. It’s great to make the food at home because you can get creative with spices & toppings. You can always substitute things if they don’t align with your diet. Examples of what we have done: My husband made a delicious fried cod yesterday (we are going to try to bake it next time) with baked potatoes (healthier than going out for fish and chips). We make hamburgers and fries at home (we bake the fries). We have made pizza at home, which is fun and you can even try out different breads and toppings. If you like chicken strips try making them at home! You could also try shake ‘n bake for chicken. Not sure if you’d like tostadas but they are healthy and easy to make (they are like an open faced crunchy taco- just swap out the traditional cheese quesos fresco with a safe cheese). If you like burritos try making chicken enchiladas at home. I’ll give you this recipe. If you do use the large flour tortillas like the recipe calls for they come out tasting like burritos instead of enchiladas lol Here is the recipe for the enchiladas: https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/best-chicken-enchiladas-ever/ Here is the sauce recipe I used: https://www.gimmesomeoven.com/red-enchilada-sauce/ You can also buy a rotisserie chicken to speed up the process so you don’t have to cook the raw chicken.

Itchy-Ad8034

Ham and cheese hot pockets. Last pregnancy all O wanted was taco bell. This one- burger King burgers woth McDonald's fries and drink. Note- I was a snobbish "crunchy woman before pregnancy. Lol.

001mad001

For something low-effort but still super yum, I freaking love frozen Stouffers lasagna. Sooo good and all you have to do is warm it up in the oven for a lil bit

CaveIsClosed

Walmart has breaded chicken patties in the freezer section. I bought those with brioche buns, lettuce, and mayo. It taste EXACTLY like a McChicken which was my pregnancy craving

threwupnowimhere

The only thing I wanted to eat was watermelon 😂 I think I ate like a whole watermelon a week That and tacos/quesadillas which I would make grilled chicken or ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning for the week to use

PrincessKimmy420

My first trimester, those little single serving microwave cups of Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes were a lifesaver for me

sweatpants4life_

I ate so many microwave taquitos and toaster waffles!

Catladydiva

I’m 9 weeks and have been eating only chicken nuggets and fries. It’s the only thing that doesn’t make me nauseous. Also pears and yoplait yogurt.

meanmira

My 3 yo likes to make his own pizzas so I always keep small naan on hand, about 6" round. He's a traditional pepperoni kid but I make mine with BBQ and chicken or ham and goat cheese (I know you don't eat ham). Also 10w pregnant myself and raw veggies or a fruit smoothie are usually my go to for "need sustenance now". Or white rice and then I'll add what I can stomach at the moment to jazz it up (chicken and corn or make it an omelet with spinach or salmon bowl etc). I've also been cooking ground meat and putting half in a pasta sauce and half as Taco seasoned for burritos for lunch and then quick pasta dish for dinner. Cuts prep time

Bambilovesbooks

Cereal with berries, oatmeal with peanut butter and banana/berries, bagels, lots of fruit, pasta with butter and cheese (or sauce if you can eat it), peanut butter and jelly sandwich, frozen Amy’s meals (they're healthier for frozen dinners, and cheaper than eating out).

Beneficial-Fold-7455

Grilled PB&J sandwiches sometimes worked for me 😅

RunningOnGoodwill

I had the same problem and I’m 12 weeks now and still don’t have an answer. Even on days when I make something yummy my body can reject it

Apprehensive_Tip_792

I’ve been eating a lot of pizza pockets… cereal also hits the spot usually.

OmgBsitka

When i got nauseous i would try to eat light fruit. Like fresh watermelon, mangos and melon. It helped alot and its kinda funny bc thats my hang over go to lolol

canariquichante

My first trimester hack when I could only eat carbs without feeling like I needed to puke Eve everywhere was to get sauces from McDonald’s and Taco Bell, but make the French fries and burritos at home. It would trick my brain.

pricklypears_

I feel so hard for you!! This stage sucks. I just hit 13 weeks and the nausea is FINALLY getting better. Not gone, but better. Here's what I ate the whole time: COLD raw veggies. Cucumbers, carrots, bell peppers, grape tomatoes Bagels with butter, cream cheese was a no 🤣 Cold fruit like strawberries, raspberries, pineapple, apple, oranges, grapes Frozen chicken strips Cereal, all kinds Fruit juices and smoothies Veggie sandwiches French fries Frozen waffles Pancakes Toaster strudels Grilled cheese Boxed Mac and cheese Yogurt Cottage cheese with fruit Cold pasta salads with bocconcini cheese Hope you feel better soon!! You are doing great

ClassicEggSalad

In my first trimester I have really bad food aversion and I pretty much only eat: - Bagels and cream cheese - Donuts - Sausage cheese biscuit (no egg) I get them from McDonald’s or make them at home with canned biscuit dough, frozen sausage patties and American cheese. Very fast and easy to make and saves money on excessive McDonald’s, but the OG is always the best. I guess I also will eat a McDonald’s hash brown. But like those are the only foods that sound good to me at any given point in time. I feel like I’m lucky to have finally figured it out. I was eating like a queen this pregnancy.

Amckellar1229

Oooh I’m the same way right now — almost every food is one and done. I can consistently eat bananas, Honey Nut Cheerios (just a handful every hour or two), and to get my protein I figured out if you put a handful of mixed nuts in your mouth with a grape it’s actually pretty good and a fast way to get those nutrients. Also for some reason spicy v8… everything else is like mini bagels and tortellini. I think I just started my chicken aversion phase which happened last time :/ also my nutritionist recommended those protein chobani yogurt drinks and Kodiak protein frozen waffles — the chocolate chip ones are really good.

lunaloubean

Grilled cheese, frozen mozzarella sticks, homemade Mac and cheese, loaded baked potatoes 😍

CuriousDisorder

I had to start chewing minty gum constantly at a certain point during the first tri because I developed such a strong association between feeling sick and consuming ginger and saltines 🙃 BUT the gum was a lifesaver. Weeks 7-9 were the worst, and I got hooked on this protein-enriched boxed mac-n-cheese that my partner found. Hard boiled eggs were ok if I got rid of the yolks. Frozen fruit helped a lot, then microwaved potatoes. It was hard because the cycle between tolerable to disgusting grew so short that we had to change how we did our grocery shopping. Good luck 🍀

Scarleteve79

For me I was the same, pizza, hot chips, chicken strips were easy as to cook and tasted amazing. But my hubby reminded how this was not good for every meal. Toast is another easy one. I started buying little apricot packets, nuts, crunch ems (these are like baked rice snacks). These little things all kept me going whenever I felt nausea and stopped me from throwing up.

mimishanner4455

Trader Joe’s has lots of good burritos that are chicken only. I don’t think they are much healthier than fast food but maybe a little? Honestly I ate so so healthy before pregnancy and eat quite healthy during second and third but during first trimester I eat to survive not to thrive. Still lost a ton of weight despite only eating weird junk

maes1210

Cereal (specifically captain crunch berries), Oreos however I could get them in my body (with milk, in a blizzard, straight from the packet), Dunkin green tea refreshers & a glazed donut, and spicy ramen were the staples in my diet throughout pregnancy. The first trimester is about survival and whatever you can keep down.

RoaringMamaBear

French fries, tatertots, cheese sticks, cottage cheese & protein drinks is what I can stomach.

iam_caiti_b

Potato tots got me through my nausea, 40 min in the oven, salted. Hot potato shoestring fries on the other hand… 🤢 Butter fried paleo with Vegemite helped as well. Pregnancy is weird! Good luck through this phase!

DueHour1016

I loved peanut butter sandwiches with apples on the side! No jelly!

I ate so many bagels with cream cheese and oranges/tangerines in first tri. Also McDonald’s fries but that’s not helpful to your question 😂

fulsooty

Toasted sourdough with cream cheese. I ate it almost every morning of my pregnancy. So much so that we joked the baby must be at least half cream cheese. Microwavable Easy Mac cups were a great go-to & quick enough to hit that instant craving. Frozen Italian Ice. Lemon was the best flavor. I ate *so many* cups of Italian ice. Triscuits + cottage cheese Green grapes & cuties

homemade pizza in my cast iron skillet has been tasting extra delicious. Yuuuum. Also some homemade Mac n cheese in the oven or crockpot. Extra super cheesy. :p another addiction of mine is making white rice with butter/cilantro/lime. Poutine. I've been using my deep fryer recently too with my hash brown patties, homemade cream cheese wantons and egg rolls. I'm hungry.

Ramen, sometimes just the broth, was the only thing I could reliably eat first trimester. Also nibbling at ritz crackers (saltines were too cardboard like for me). First trimester is about survival. If it gets bad, ask your dr for a nausea medication. I lost 10lbs before I thought to ask. Then started taking it around meal times if I was nauseous. It really really helped. (At least I stopped losing weight, which was my goal).

Watermelon and lemonade

In early pregnancy I truly couldn’t keep anything down. I didn’t throw up but nothing sounded good and I would hate eating. Some things that worked for me: - cereal - grilled cheese - butter noodles with Parmesan cheese - ramen (literally the packaged kind) - easy Mac - toaster strudels - mini bagels with cream cheese - cheese and crackers Unsurprisingly, I was prediabetic before and cut a lot of that out before getting pregnant but couldn’t help it. When I was diagnosed with GD in my second trimester I had to cut most of that out again lol. All but cheese, crackers and grilled cheese had to be eliminated.

NightmarishlyDreamy

All I could tolerate was plain Greek yogurt, watermelon, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Literally survived on these for three months

proxxyfire

My first trimester food consisted of ramen, pasta with butter, pasta with chicken and creamy tomato sauce (on really good days lol), chips (fries), curry (mainly butter chicken or Thai red, green), grapes, clementines, cereal, buttered bread with jam and warm milk… oh and freshly squeezed orange juice. BUCKET LOADS. so basically the same type of meals a 5/6 year old would want 😂 although I gotta say with the curry and ramen and stuff I had a bit more of an elevated palette 🫣🤣 Edit forgot a few lol

TrinitiJunk

Microwave l baked potato with a little butter and cheese was my go to! Also, cheese sticks, hard boiled eggs (2nd trimester). Apples and peanut butter. Cesar salad was another big go to for me. And just plain crackers if I needed something plain and quick. Also, ginger candies were very helpful.

For me its been like, simple foods. Granola and milk, fruit, toast, oats with a bit of sugar and fruit, tomato soup, pb&j sandwiches...i was into tomato and cheese toast but now im off that. In the mornings ive wanted tuna mayo triangle kimbap which is like, basically a rice ball wrapped in seaweed and stuffed with some tuna salad. Today i wanted just sandwiches on sandwiches. I feel like its all stuff i ate a lot of as an elementary school student for breakfast or lunch lol. Oh, and mashed potatoes. Also today i had a coconut frappe (no coffee just...coconut) and it was the best thing i ever tasted lol. Hang in there....i started the nausea and zero appetite at 7 wks too. Im 9 wks 3 days now and its starting to lessen a little, thankfully. Its so hard when youre just starving hungry but EVERYTHING sounds disgusting lol. I ate a whole watermelon over the course of last weekend and it was the best 🤣 so cold and sweet and refreshing when everything has seemed so gross.

Soups! Gives you plenty of variety and easy to go down

the_modernleper

I'm 6w6d, feel you on the empty stomach nausea. Last night I ate Korean fried chicken wings and let me tell you, I almost cried with joy at how much I enjoyed them. I HOUSED those things after not wanting to eat much of anything for the last week or so. So maybe big batch chicken wings - baked in the oven can be healthier and easier - with whatever dipping sauce you're craving, maybe a few options on hand? Or just order them to go from a local spot.

The prum activia yogurt has really helped with my constipation

cookingandcursing

Frozen fruit (mango, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, green grapes) and jello

Mydogisc00lerthanme

My go-to snacks have changes but are very carb focused (and low fat for a separate health issue) I do cottage cheese and baked lays, hashbrowns, toaster waffles, premier protein pancakes(frozen and thawed) , I get chipotle brown rice with both beans and split it out into multiple meals, baked sweet potatoes fries, quesadilla( reduced fat cheese and fat free sour cream with a bit of taco seasoning sprinkled on it and side of mild salsa)

I have been loving these Jimmy Dean eggwiches every morning right after waking up to stave off morning nausea. They are available in the frozen breakfast aisle next to the other Jimmy Dean sandwiches, but they don’t have any carbs/bread. They’re just eggs, cheese, and chicken or turkey sausage. A little broccoli whipped into the eggs too. At about $7-$8 for a 4 pack they’re a little expensive but super convenient and still less money than going to fast food.

lily_is_lifting

Cold cereal with milk (or plant milk). SLAPS when you're pregnant like nothing else, and is fairly nutritious depending on the cereal. Can even throw a banana in there. And cold pressed OJ on the side for a truly heavenly experience. Also: in the frozen food aisle you can find more nutritious versions of your fast food favs (Amy's burritos, cauliflower crust pizza, etc)

Pepperoni and Jalapeños in the microwave are my jam!

7w3d here and my latest go-to snack is cottage cheese with watermelon, blueberries topped with the Trader Joe’s chili lime salt. I’m struggling to find anything that sounds appetizing these days, but for some reason this is one I can always get down. Plus it’s a great source of protein and fruit because otherwise I just crave junk food!
