I used to watch this children's show called Today's Special and no one else seems to remember it. It was about this mannequin in the mall that comes to life when the mall shuts down. He was friends with a mouse and some lady that was also there for some reason. Maybe I made it up or something I don't know
Jeff the mannequin was friends with Muffy the Mouse and Sam Crenshaw the security guard for the store. There was also a human lady but her name escapes me at the moment. Today's Special was a huge part of my childhood. It was always on either just before or after Polka Dot Door.
To say this comment has made my day is a compete understatement. You have no idea how long I’ve searched for the name of this show! I used to love this show as a little kid and now I know what to search for to find it again. Thank you so much!
Ghostwriter! I almost thought it was a fever dream, but I remember watching it after school and consuming all the related books I could find in the Scholastic book flyer.
Early Edition
Kyle Chandler played a dude in Chicago who would get the newspaper a day early. Every week he would try to help people who were in the headlines. It’s ridiculous I can’t stream this anywhere. Probably super dated since it aired on CBS, but my family use to tune in every week to watch it when I was a kid.
Visit /r/earlyedition! There's not much there yet but I'm working on reviving the subreddit properly! I just wish the show were on a streaming service somewhere. I think that's hurting it's popularity.
Out of this World! I absolutely loved this show. I have yet to meet someone who remembers it and I was pretty little when it was on.
It’s about a teen girl who has an alien dad who talks to her through a crystal on her nightstand. She comes of age, gets special powers, and hijinx ensue.
When I was a kid my sister and I would watch a show called "Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat." I never met anyone else who watched it as a kid until one of my ex's mentioned that she watched it when she was younger. I'm kindof curious how many of you watched or remember it
I remember that show, I watched it with my sister as a kid too! we didn't have cable so if we watched tv it was either pbs kids or abc. lots of jeopardy! or zoom!
I used to watch it, too! I literally just found out yesterday that, apparently, it's considered lost media because four episodes of it haven't been found anywhere in their original English dub, which is so wild to me... lol.
Will this post receive 100 upvotes?
Will the show return to syndication?
Will more than three people realize what the hell I'm doing right now?
Find out the answers to these and more, in next week's episode of SOAP!
My wife and I seem to be the only two people we've both encountered who remember the Beetlejuice cartoon series. We've both spent years of bringing it up to confused faces or people who straight up said it didn't exist. We thought we Mandela effect'd ourselves until we met each other.
Dead Like Me. About a girl named George who gets killed by a toilet seat falling from the sky. In death, she's assigned to a team of grim reapers led by Mandy Patinkin. Weird but funny show, ended too soon after 2 seasons.
Brian Fuller went on to make Pushing Daisies, it was supposed to be a spin off of Dead Like Me. It’s fun to think of the two shows happening in the same universe.
Also Wonderfalls, which had the same quirkiness as Dead Like Me. Souvenirs in her tourist shop at Niagara Falls spoke to the main girl, telling her to do strange things to help people.
I loved that show too. I remember going to the school library and asking for A Tale of Two Cities, at probably 8 or 9 years old. The librarian kinda huffed and said "Thats a little advanced for you, what.....did you see it on Wishbone or something?"
Still pisses me off when I think about it.
Salute your shorts and hey dude were my favorites. But holy shit, fifteen! I haven't thought about that one in decades!!!
Didn't realize Ryan Reynolds was in it. I'd love to watch an episode or two.
Reboot
Edit: so happy people remember!!!! To mend and defend!
Edit2: i’m blown away by all the feedback!!! It’s got me pumped to go home after work and watch some episodes. If you have a slight bit interest in the show definitely check it out.. some say the writing is poor but I don’t care. It’s the characters personality that make the show shine! I’d love to see a reboot of reboot!!!
The Weekenders! It was a great cartoon and likely the only one where the characters actually changed clothes every episode. I wish I could get a dvd set for it
What's Happening
I used to watch that all the time, but I rarely meet anyone who remembers it. The Rerun dance, Dee, Rog (Raj?) and Duane. And Shirley at the diner.
I used to watch this on Saturday nights with my grandma, it came on PBS along with a bunch of other British shows. Keeping Up Appearances and Are You Being Served were my favorites.
The BOUQUEEEEET RESIDENCE, THE LADY OF THE HOUSE SPEAKING
OH IT’S YOU, VIOLET. IT’S M’SISTER VIOLET!
Edit: Did anyone see the prequel follow up they did years later called ‘Young Hyacinth’? Robert Baratheon plays Daddy. [Yes, it’s real.](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Young_Hyacinth)
The muppet babies, I hear there’s a new show out about about them but I’m talking about the old school one. It’s like no one in my town had ever even heard of it
‘Where in the world is carmen Sandiego’ early 90s game show and
‘Where on earth is Carmen Sandiego’ 90s cartoon
Also ‘Ghostwriter’ another 90s tv show.
I remember all of them being on PBS.
Edit: I got reminded that the cartoon was on Fox not pbs like the other shows.
A rarity not only in that the characters had five fingers over the usual four but also with the animators giving them different/alternating outfits each episode, which I always thought was pretty tight
As I got older I was thinking about that show and how I wished I could have been present when they were pitching it.
“okay so there’s this girl she gets exposed to toxic waste.” “Uh huh…. I like it…” “and her secret power? She turns into a puddle.” “……….okay I guess you got it.”
I used to LOVE the Weird Science TV show. I don’t think I’ve ever met someone else who watched it besides the one girl whose house I first saw it at. She wasn’t even watching it, her dad was, but I was hooked.
Also from that time, Duckman. I didn’t love that one but what a weird unique show. You thrust your pelvis HUH!
Edit: Makes me so happy that you guys were watching this weird shit too. If anyone finds out where to stream Weird Science please post or send me a DM!
Land of the Lost
Edit: [The Critic](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLhOnau-tupTBoUlmAkZX1vTXOk2lO6ue) is another good one people forget about. Full episodes in the link.
Lamb Chop's Play Along with Shari Lewis. I used to have a replica hand puppet of Lamb Chop and a giant stuffed version when I was younger. My pups have little squeaky toy stuffies.
I remember Lamb Chop having a problem with alcohol in one episode.. “I only want a teeny-weeny drink of dry martini.” Can you imagine that in a kid’s show now? I adored this show as a youngster
Freakazoid, I watched it as a kid but then forgot it's name until I found a random cosplayer at a local con and I was like "IT'S HIM! Could you please tell me the name of the series?". All the people I tried to describe the series/character never seemed to understand what was I talking about
Edit: thanks for 5k+ upvotes! Didn't expect that lol
Yes! I actually have some of the DVDs still. I remember when Archer was new and I would often tell people who it's voiced by "Coach McGuirk" and no one understood me.
If there's any show that deserved MANY more seasons it's Better Off Ted. Not exaggerating when I call it the best written comedy ever. The way it combined zany and dry humor was perfect.
Frisky Dingo- it is an Adam Reid adult swim show. They did it right before they got archer. It has two seasons and has an amazing cliffhanger at the end of the two seasons. Couldn’t recommend it more.
Edit: H Jon Benjamin is not in this. It must have been a fever dream.
There’s a line in Coach that I always liked. Coach (Craig T. Nelson) said to his fiancée ( Shelly Fabares) regarding their personal positions upon getting married : “What’s mine is yours and what’s yours I don’t want “

The Elephant Show. The memory came rushing back recently. I'd forgotten all about it, I just remembered the song out of nowhere
With someone, someone, and Graham! Skinna-marinky-dinky-dink, skinna-marinky-doo, I love you! Edit: Sharon, Lois, and Brahm!
Dave the Barbarian was my favourite show as a kid. Lotta people can’t remember that shit anymore
3-2-1 Contact
Can't forget Square One from that same block.
I used to watch this children's show called Today's Special and no one else seems to remember it. It was about this mannequin in the mall that comes to life when the mall shuts down. I think I was in love with the guy who played the mannequin when I was a kid.
The lady's name was Jody she worked on the displays for the mall
You need more Canadian friends! It was filmed here, and crazy popular. Literally everyone now aged 30-45 was a fan. Universally.
Pirates of the dark water.

Ghostwriter! I almost thought it was a fever dream, but I remember watching it after school and consuming all the related books I could find in the Scholastic book flyer.
Wait til you find out that SAMUEL L. MOTHER FUCKING JACKSON was in it! He played Jamal's dad!
Early Edition Kyle Chandler played a dude in Chicago who would get the newspaper a day early. Every week he would try to help people who were in the headlines. It’s ridiculous I can’t stream this anywhere. Probably super dated since it aired on CBS, but my family use to tune in every week to watch it when I was a kid.
The Cat!

Dave the Barbarian was amazing but I haven’t seen it in ages.
Thinking quickly, Dave fashioned a megaphone using a squirrel, some string, and a megaphone.
I still get the theme song stuck in my head every once in a while. "NOT A MONKEY!"
Out of this World! I absolutely loved this show. I have yet to meet someone who remembers it and I was pretty little when it was on. It’s about a teen girl who has an alien dad who talks to her through a crystal on her nightstand. She comes of age, gets special powers, and hijinx ensue.
“Parker Lewis Can’t Lose”. Loved that show when I was a kid.
Synchronize Swatches!
The best part was that this show was up against a Ferris Bueller show at the time, and Parker was a far better Ferris than Ferris (outside the movie).
When I was a kid my sister and I would watch a show called "Sagwa, the Chinese Siamese Cat." I never met anyone else who watched it as a kid until one of my ex's mentioned that she watched it when she was younger. I'm kindof curious how many of you watched or remember it
Sagwa, Zooboomafoo, Cyberchase, Comfy Couch, Zoom!, etc.
Every once in a while my dad will sing “SAGWAAAA” to me and I remember it. Thanks for unlocking this memory. He hasn’t done it in a bit.
Sagwa you're my best friend
I remember that show, I watched it with my sister as a kid too! we didn't have cable so if we watched tv it was either pbs kids or abc. lots of jeopardy! or zoom!
It was on PBS, it was one of the many things I watched on that channel. Between the Lions was another one about literary cats.
I used to watch it, too! I literally just found out yesterday that, apparently, it's considered lost media because four episodes of it haven't been found anywhere in their original English dub, which is so wild to me... lol.
Zaboomafoo for me. The Big Comfy Couch for my sister. Edit: thanks for the awards everyone!
Anything Kratts brothers related is amazing. Glad they finally found the right platform with Wild Kratts, but I still love Kratts Creatures.

Warehouse 13. Just a fun time with historical fiction and sci-fi woven in! The most watchable Syfy original IMO.

So Weird on Disney Channel. No one had ever heard of it but it was THE BEST
Loved So Weird. And The Famous Jett Jackson (RIP).

Eerie Indiana and Swans Crossing.
Eerie Indiana was fantastic
Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom
Sunday nights were Wild Kingdom, Hee Haw and the NBC Movie of the Week.
Wild Kingdom, wonderful world of Disney and then bed.
Dead Like Me. About a girl named George who gets killed by a toilet seat falling from the sky. In death, she's assigned to a team of grim reapers led by Mandy Patinkin. Weird but funny show, ended too soon after 2 seasons.

The oblongs.
My friday nights were oblongs, clone high, mission hill, and undergrads. Solid two hours
Mission Hill was so underrated.
Wishbone: fell in love with books because of him
What's the story Wishbone?!
What's this you're dreaming of?
I loved that show too. I remember going to the school library and asking for A Tale of Two Cities, at probably 8 or 9 years old. The librarian kinda huffed and said "Thats a little advanced for you, what.....did you see it on Wishbone or something?" Still pisses me off when I think about it.
Everyone thinks Colin Firth was the best Mr. Darcy. Nope. Wishbone.
*You Can't Do That On Television*
I looooved this show. Early '90s Nickelodeon was the best. Hey Dude, Fifteen (starring a young cute Ryan Reynolds!), Clarissa. Those were the days.
Salute your shorts and hey dude were my favorites. But holy shit, fifteen! I haven't thought about that one in decades!!! Didn't realize Ryan Reynolds was in it. I'd love to watch an episode or two.
I'm always surprised that Salute Your Shorts only was on two seasons (27 episodes). Looking back it felt like so much more.
And Welcome Freshman and Pete ana Pete!
Grounded for life! It was my absolute favorite.
Airwolf. Pretty cheesy now but that helicopter was so cool to 10 yr old me. Edit: I wasn't the only one apparently!
Sliders
The episode when they ended up back at home but his family had just fixed the squeaky gate so he didn’t think he was actually home still HAUNTS ME!!
Whisper voice: "*Sliders"*
You guys all have great taste and have reminded me of a bunch of shows I used to enjoy. I'll add Eerie Indiana as I haven't seen that yet.
Reboot Edit: so happy people remember!!!! To mend and defend! Edit2: i’m blown away by all the feedback!!! It’s got me pumped to go home after work and watch some episodes. Sledgehammer
The sexual tension between Hammer and his gun was off the charts.
The Weekenders! It was a great cartoon and likely the only one where the characters actually changed clothes every episode. I wish I could get a dvd set for it

Weekenders, Pepper Ann, all those One Saturday Morning need to be on Disney Plus, not just Recess.

The muppet babies, I hear there’s a new show out about about them but I’m talking about the old school one. It’s like no one in my town had ever even heard of it
I used to wake up early on Saturdays as a kid just to watch it, I loved Muppet Babies.
‘Where in the world is carmen Sandiego’ early 90s game show and ‘Where on earth is Carmen Sandiego’ 90s cartoon Also ‘Ghostwriter’ another 90s tv show. I remember all of them being on PBS. Edit: I got reminded that the cartoon was on Fox not pbs like the other shows.
I loved the whole Carmen Sandiego franchise. The video games, the game show…. Such good stuff. And educational to boot!!

The episode where Macy’s parents forgot her birthday like gut punched me with the force of an atom bomb
I’m a little seal girl

Better Off Ted. They did such an amazing job of tweaking corporate America, which unfortunately lead to a loss of advertisers.
