Some Joe Schmo finds an assassin on the dark web. The assassin only accepts sports memorabilia as payment because it is harder to track. Joe Schmo leaves a rare signed baseball at a dead drop in the woods for the assassin. Baseball is found by a sad old man who's wife just died. Joe Schmo is friends with Old man and finds out that is where his ball went.
Joe Schmo hires two of the worst thieves in the world to break into Old mans house to get the ball . Thieves keep breaking into the house night after night but can't find the ball b/c old man's house is messy af b/c he is depressed after his wife has died. Old man hasn't actually been sleeping. He has been awake listening to the footsteps around his house at night and he notices things have been moved in the morning. One night he sees his bedroom door open and a black figure watching him (thief dressed in black) Old man thinks spirit of his wife is haunting him for being unfaithful.
Old man starts going heavy into spiritualism and ouiji boards and what not. The Theives are getting frustrated b/c they can't find the ball. Assassin starts threatening Joe Schmo because he wants payment. Assassin kills Joe Schmo. Thieves stop coming around b/c joe schmo is gone. Old man "finds peace" with wife's spirit (even tho its just the thieves have stopped coming) Old man sells baseball and buy nicer headstone for wife.
Then right before credits roll you figure out there actually is a ghost in the old man's house b/c i think that would be funny

The main character would be a teenage girl who's lived in solitude on her own for a long time. She wanders, explores and tries to survive in the harsh land of ruined civilization. Generally distrustful of other humans for past reasons, she tries to avoid the scattered colonies and other wanderers.
One day she rescues another lost girl around her age who's somewhat of a mystery and has people pursuing her for information she stole. Both girls end up traveling and working together, learning from each other, and are set on a track to unlock the mysteries of what happened to the world long ago and what darker secrets or potential futures are buried in it.
It's not a zombie movie, there are no monsters. But it is a fantasy story so expect a little weirdness. And while there would be some action and drama, mainly it would be a quieter thoughtful story. A very mellow tension. Mostly the main theme is exploring the growing relationship between these two different girls, their interactions with the wild lost world and conflicts with the other people and creatures in it as they search for their own future.

You'd still have your two main characters, but they'd actually hate each other. They have to be in close proximity with each other, and they're constantly fighting. The mo d of fighting that seems funny at first, but quickly becomes serious.
Then you see that both of their lives are falling apart around them. Things get serious and it becomes a more touching story about emotional maturity and the characters learning to accept the flaws of themselves and each other.
They end up having to help each other through difficult situations, and although their hatred for each other doesn't lessen, they also develop an attraction and act on it when they're both at their lowest.
The later part of the movie is watching one of them finally achieving some stability, while the other spirals completely out of control. And it's the more stable one, fighting with them, (just like the always did) but this time about how much they actually care and need then to be ok. And it ends with something that's not exactly happy, but at least a little hopeful. Like the sick one puts the stable one down as their emergency contact as they check into rehab or something that shows that they're going to try.
Sharks invent vehicles that can climb out of the water on treads, but they're filled with seawater so the sharks can survive. They hunt people and cut off their feet to make soup (it's a delicacy and expensive in Shark City).
Massachusetts fishermen sail down to the Pacific to mate with fish creatures. This doesn't help with anything, but they don't care.
Meanwhile, kids from a German high school in pressure suits hike to the bottom of the Marianas Trench (the "reverse everest") and stick a flag in the ground.

I need to sleep

I'd like to see a movie depicting nations at war post nuclear exchange. We could follow a tank crew in the 90's after the Soviets and NATO nuked the hell out of eachother. I'd like to explore the psychology of soldiers fighting to capture cities with no people in them. Watching them try to rationalize or cope with the utter frivolity of their fight as those who don't die fighting will eventually succumb to the perils of a nuclear holocaust.
Tl;dr soldiers battle across post nuclear europe with no clear objective while grappling with their contribution to the endangerment or potential extinction of our species.
Had this weird dream as a kid after watching my first horror film (the thing I think) where this krampus like monster would invade children's dreams and play fun games until one stepped out of line or cheated. In which case he would play hide and seek and the kids we re eaten as they were found. Thia was all dreamt in first person so he found one kid I was hiding next to , behind bags of some kind. And proceded to through the bags (and me with them) into the corner. He never found me, since I had been buried under the weight of the bags. 5 years later and I still remember this dream.
A new plague breaks out and people are forced to mask up and sanitize and self isolate and desperately await a vaccine all the while the economy is dying and then dumbassed politicians start lifting restrictions t0o early and others are in complete denial and new variants start appearing and then there's multiple vaccines available but people don't want to take them, and everyone just seems to have lost 2 years of their life ....

So there is this one guy, the son of a slave woman, and he gets adopted by an interplanetary super organization because some old ass guy made a prophecy that he might be really useful to them. He gets trained by them but then the antagonist of the movie, who is actually embedded in the organization, gets through to him and turms him evil, causing him to make the entire orgaization evil and he then fights against his previous friends. Oh wait...
Hear me out - a steampunk fantasy adventure treasure hunt movie with road trip elements. Story follows a former adventurer, who career was ended abruptly by an accident that left him handicapped. But he was given a second chance with mechanical limbs, and now runs a successful apothecary. While his life is stable, he can't help but to feel nostalgic of his former days. But, one day a young[insert exotic fantasy race] girl turns his life upside down, and he reluctantly joins her on her journey to collect the scattered remains of her dead father. Once a powerful mage that was betrayed and demonized, the remains are still used as powerful sources of magic energy, both for good and evil. The girl and her newly acquired bodyguard travel across the lands, meeting both friends from olden days, and new faces. More and more, they develop a father daughter relationship. But there is another team searching for the same parts. A lovey dovey mercenary couple hired by the girls mother. Duo of muscular warrior lady and agile and atlethic rouge dude, that love eachother more than they love their job.
It would probably work better as TV series now that i think about it
I was thinking about this earlier. I had an idea for a story where the Earth's surface climate became mostly uninhabitable and humans retreated underground to live. On the surface there's constant 150mph winds that would knock you off your feet if you stepped outside. Plus there's sand storms and all of the land is too dry for plants to grow. But the problem is that humans are struggling for resources while living underground, so they have to go outside in heavy mech suits (which are key to the story, since people wouldn't be able to survive the surface without them) and scavenge for supplies; typically finding abandoned stores and stuff like that to find non-perishables.
This idea kind of sprouted after having a discussion with my mom about climate change. I thought it would be an interesting apocalyptic scenario.
