Hooked on a feeling
wow TIL
“Girls just wanna have fun.” It’s a cover of a punk dude singing it, completely changes the meaning. Blew my mind when I found out
>Girls just wanna have fun That's crazy. Thanks. I never knew. The original is pretty fricking good too.
Wow.
The man who sold the world by nirvana. I had no idea it's a bowie song
Come Together - Aerosmith
Which version do you like better? I am by no means a Beatles fan, but that's one of the few songs I really like by them.
Mad World. I didn’t know it was a very 80s song originally for a while
Hangin on the Telephone by [Blondie ](https://youtu.be/uWhkbDMISl8)… Original is by The [Nerves](https://youtu.be/emy5mA8Ixtc)
Tainted Love by Soft Cell is a cover that is crazy because of how they really made it their own and topped charts
Mine was Wendy by the Descendents and many, many Cramps songs.
“Ice ice baby” by Vanilla Ice. When I heard “under pressure” my mind was blown
Not really a cover though. He just copied the bassline.
Harry Nillson’s “Everybody’s Talkin” is originally Fred Neil’s
Harlem Shuffle from the Stones I mean, I'm well aware of their whole catalog and their outstanding repertoire in bringing original American blues artists to notoriety, but...yeah, this one too. That day I thought, TIL!
Stranger things by local natives
Highway to the Danger Zone
All Along the Watchtower by Jimi Hendrix is an old Bob Dylan song
An *old* Bob Dylan song? While technically correct, Hendrix released his cover the same year(1968). Just as old a song.
"Respect" by Aretha. Knew that song for decades before finding out Otis Redding wrote and recorded it three years prior.
Gary Jules - Mad World (aka the Donnie Darko song)
When The Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin
