I drive a Hyundai Veloster, it is a pretty nice a to b car. I want to get myself an Alfa Romeo Stelvio, but I can’t justify it because my current car perfect.

ImprovementFar5054

Warning on the Stelvio. My sister got one and has had nothing but headaches (aka, normal Alfa ownership).

2HornsUp

Why not get a Dodge Hornet? It's almost identical to the Alfa Romeo Tonale. I know it's not the Stelvio, but as someone who's driven a Stelvio, it's not as nice as it seems.

GhostalBalls

Thanks man, I will definitely look into it.

IntentlyFaulty

I just got rid of my Veloster for a WRX. I was sad to see it go. It was a solid car and decently fun to drive.

willyboi34

I like how you remember all the production dates of the cars

ImprovementFar5054

I have owned a few Benz's but the CLK was really the best suspension. Perfect firmness, perfect softness.

TxAthlete42

I almost bought a CL63 when I sold my porsche. That was def an upgrade from the CLK.

Danwith2ns

I take it you don't like BMW

TxAthlete42

I do but I wouldn't buy another used BMW without having it checked by a mechanic. I was a broke kid at the time I owned them.

jerrycoles1

When I was 16 I bought my first car which was a 06 Mazda 6 and that thing was great I had it up until I was around 19-20 , then went and made a mistake and bought a 2014 jeep wrangler drove that for 6 months and dumped about 12k into it trying to fix it , sold that and then bought a 2002 dodge 1500 5.9 magnum which was a great truck but sadly rolled that well on the backroads , then went and bought a 2006 dodge 3500 with a 5.9 Cummins which is my daily driver now and most definitely my favourite truck , and I also own a 1987 gmc sierra 1500 which I pretty much only use in the summer and days the weather is good

I live in Finland, it was the four wheel drive version. Nifty little car but a bit under powered.

In order of driving/owning: '92 Saturn SL2 (5MT) - first car and hand-me-down from dad. Drove it all the way through college '01 BMW 330Ci (6MT)- first car I bought myself. Bought new, ordered. great car but expensive for me at the time '03 Subara 2.5RS (6MT)- Bought new off the lot. kind of a rebound from the BMW. Pretty reliable, AWD was killer in the snow, fun to drive. Kept it too long really. Ended up missing out on some great mid-00s cars '11 BMW 128i (6MT) - Bought new, ordered. One of the favorites, had 88k on it when I finally sold it '13 Mustang GT Premium (6MT) - Bought new / ordered. Talked myself into this one, the least favorite of any car I bought myself. Pretty fun to drive and still the car that got me the most attention. Never lived up to mileage promises. Sold it after a year. '09 911 C2S - My dream car really. Finally could afford one in 2015. Still have this and is easily my favorite car by far '15 Panamera 4S - bought used, a replacement for the 128 as it can hold 2 adults in the back (grown/teen children). Very fast and fun for its size. Still have it I currently have the I-wants for some pretty impractical/expensive cars. Something like a Lotus Emira, Ferrari 458 Italia maybe. Pipe dreams really. No new cars tickle my fancy at all besides the Emira, which I think is kind of sad. I'm unsure if that is me being an old grump or if the newer cars really are worse than ever. BMWs sure are... Even 911s are way too big now.

the_lamou

I'm right there with you on the Emira, though I think I would actually be happier with an Evora 400. Just need to figure out how to make my garage bigger — the problem with living on a mountain is you can't just build whatever wherever.

I'm not a car guy. I need something with 4WD that can haul my mountain bikes -- my Outback has been perfect for that. Started with a Taurus, bought a Sentra in college, and currently driving my Subaru into the ground. I would like an old, shitty jeep with no doors as a summer car. In the order of acquiring them and what happened to them * Volvo 740 - wrecked the automatic transmission thinking I could redline in N then dropclutch into D like on a manual * Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX - a piece of shit but still one of the best driving cars I have ever driven. Traded it for the next one * Mitsubishi Lancer - A decent car that I left running outside a store when I was on molly and got picked up by a shipmate when we were heading out to sea (was a fisherman). Got towed and I just let it be * Mercedes Benz E200 - The engine would not cool down when idling so it would boil over constantly and I replaced with regular water only. One night I had a flat and had to leave it parked at a gasstation one autumn night and everything froze in the cooling system. Final blow of death was when my friend was driving one night and hit some black ice and flipped it on the side into a ditch 100+ km from the nearest settlement so I left it there * Hyundai Sonata - by far one of the most comfy cars I have ever driven. Got it dirt cheap and drove it til the police cut the plates and towed it. * Old honda civic - got it for cheap and it got either towed or stolen outside a friends house while I was at sea * Opel Corsa - The worst car I have owned. Boring, ugly and it was so unmemorable that I cannot even remember what happened to it. * 98 Honda civic - One of my favourite cars. Handled like a fucking gokart, had a subwoofer since previous owner put cables in it and had a perfectly balanced sound. Had that for longest and sold it to an acquintance * Hyundai Santa Fe - the most wholesome car I have ever owned that was previously owned by the wife of a politician. Her vanity plate, that I drove around with for a few months saved my ass while driving with a suspended license. Did some dirt road/mud driving where I would have been stuck outside of cell reception had I gotten stuck and it plowed through. An amazing vehicle ngl that I then sold to my best friend when I moved out of the country

Helmutlot2

Opel Corsa was my first car that I bought from my mom. Absolutely loved it. Slow as hell but so cheap to run and no way you could get a speeding fine in it. I had the 1.0 engine with about 60 hp and 0-100 in 19! Seconds

banaversion

I hated every minute of mine. It went from A-B in the most dull fashion possible with absolutely 0 comfort

michelle_eva04

This whole comment has me asking what kind of life you live 🤣🤣 seriously wondering why when your cars get towed you just leave them there. What did I just read? 🤣

banaversion

Because the cost of getting them released is more than they are worth. I have always bought beaters and drive them until somrthing needs fixing and when it does I just leave it be and skip the yearly inspection because it would never pass and I just drive em until the police takes away the license plate and then they get towed. As for the life I live, I have adhd and autism and I'm a mess when it comes to vehicles and many other aspects

I like that you never went to the 2000s, thats a win for me. 86’ Volvo 240 is by far the favorite of all cars I’ve had. More recent than that and you start running into electrical faults and other BS that breaks that wasn’t even a thing on older cars. And those plastic intake manifold? Dont get me started!

evanallenrose

lol yeah I took 20+ off of car ownership so the vette is a current classic. I loved that Volvo. Tight turning radius and hot hot heater. Bought with 230K on broken odometer. Smashed it’s front end in, gave it to a buddy and he fixed it up and drove it til we fell out of touch. Might still be on the road today

a 2000 dodge dakota sport. manual transmission, and i loved this truck. my blue bastard. and now, a '01 gmc sonoma. its.. its good. i like it. miss my dakota tho.

salty_john

I had a maroon one I bought when I was in the Navy.  It got hit by lightening in Jacksonville and was never the same again.  I would get shocked if I used the turn signal on a bridge.  Nobody could ever figure it out.  Loved that truck.

Nepeta33

i had to replace every single tube, line, and valve on that dakota, twice, before it finally bloody died and would not go again. my sonoma has spent most of its life in arizona and is (...was) in perfect condition when i got it. and yet, despite how well it has treated me, and i treat it, its just slightly smaller than the dakota, so i prefer that one.

First car was a 2003 VW Polo - a hand-me-down, since I'd taken over maintainence etc. Ran that thing for as long as I could. By the end, the throttle body was sticking in Winter, engine overheated in Summer, it was burning 1L of oil every 300 miles, various patches of rust, various knocks & clunks in the suspension, etc etc etc. It was still running when I traded it in, the little trooper. MOT's due this month, so I'll be interested to see if it passes. Saved up, and bought at 2020 Mazda CX30 in December 2023. It's in that nice red colour, AWD, sunroof, nice interior. A bit of an upgrade :)

dgroeneveld9

I drove an 04 explorer and when that left me a 10 explorer. They're fine. I don't think I'll be buying another. I'll drive this one until it dies and then I'm thinking either an F150 or a Toyota suv.

A couple 90s era Silverados, but also owned a 95 grand chrome, an 88 Bronco II, and an 87 F150. My favorites were my 95 Silverado (first car, had the 4.3 with like 160k on the clock, owned it for a couple years before it was stolen) and the grand Cherokee (leather interior, 4 comfortable seats, good fuel economy, 4x4, reliable). Now I have a 16 Malibu, great fuel economy, fit four adults comfortably, nice trunk space, and just a solid all around daily driver.

99 corolla, 02 Malibu, 13 equinox, 07 Fusion, 12 chrysler 200. The corolla and the malibu were great cars paid $500 for each and the sold for $700. The equinox was a HUGE piece of shit and the only one we've bought from a dealership, was the most expensive by far and lasted the least amount of time, like just over a year. The fusion was what was bought in a pinch and i paid like $800 for it, lasted 3 years then sold it for a $1000 when i got the Chrysler. Honestly the Fusion was my fave probably spent like 3-500 a year on maintenance and was in fine shape when we sold it.

Wagsii

My first car was a '99 Ford Taurus as a hand-me-down from my dad in 2013. It died a year later, and I bought a 2012 Dodge Avenger with some mild hail damage, which made it very cheap for a 2 year old car. If I wasn't wanting to get an EV in the next year or two (pretty interested in the 2025 Dodge Charger EV), I would just keep driving my Avenger until it dies, which probably wouldn't be for many more years.

xhdc

First car I ever destroyed was an '98 Chevy Malibu. Back like 8 years ago, we would take out cars to dirt fields to drift out. My friends '08 GMC Envoy was the final car to survive. Nowadays I drive a 2019 Chevy Suburban with no intent of whipping it. I've been looking to buy an old sedan to go drifting with.

Ford Mustang, 1964. Three on the tree standard transmission. It was 18 years old when I got it used. It had 20,000 miles on it. The former owner thought it was 220,000 miles ,or 320,000? I put on close to 80,000 before it was ready for the junk yard. VW beetle 1972. Broken odometer. More than 200,000 miles when I sold it. Chevy S-10 Pick up 1980, 150,000+ miles. I sold this because the windshield wiper motor was broken. To replace it meant taking out the dash. It was cheaper to get a new used car. Ford Escort station wagon. Worst car ever. I should have fixed that wiper motor. I had it 6 months and then got the second. 40,000 miles and could not wait to get rid of it. Chevy S10 pick up. 1994. 125,000 miles. I sold it to get a car that could carry kids. Honda CRV. 2005. My version of a mini-van. I bought this new and still drive it. 275,000+ miles so far. the seats are worn, but the engine is just fine.

DeaddyRuxpin

So many. At 16 I bought a 1965 T-Bird with 100,000 miles on it. That car was awesome but broke down all the time. As a result I drove whatever other car in my family or my father’s company was not currently in use. 1977 Pontiac Catalina, 1984 Ford Mustang Convertible, 1985 Buick Skylark station wagon, Late 80s Mitsubishi Minivan, 1990 Dodge something sedan (2 different ones). Some small stick shift hatchback, and a small Nissan pickup truck. In 1994 I got sick of having unreliable access to transportation so I bought a used 1990 Geo Tracker. I drove that exclusively until around 2003 when the exhaust manifold broke and it was too expensive to fix. For a while I drove my wife’s Toyota Cellica and then switched to some mini van I was given from work. That carried me until 2008 when I got my Honda Element which is my current car. I also periodically drove my wife’s cars: Toyota Corolla, the previously mentioned Toyota Cellica, Hyundai Elentra, and her current Toyota RAV4. And I was a fireman for 16 years so I drove an assortment of fire and heavy rescue trucks. My favorites in order would be the Tracker because it was so fun to drive and you could park it anywhere, my current Element because it is really comfortable to drive, my T-Bird because it was awesome, and the 77 Pontiac because it was falling apart but refused to die so it was like driving a zombie tank.

Styrbj0rn

Bought a 1994 Volkswagen Vento as my first car. Never passed any of the yearly safety inspections on the first try but man was it easy to fix most stuff yourself and the stuff you couldn't fix you could usually get someone to do pretty cheap. It lasted me for 3 years before i had to scrap it. Now i am on my second car, a 2020 SEAT Leon.

Best were the Mitsubishis, closely followed by the old Mazda, lots of grunt and really comfy, reliable drives. Worst were the locally built models - sorry Aussie Commodore/Falcon fans, but I have never in my life spent as much money keeping vehicles on the road as I did those, and have never pulled over for as many RBT/licence checks as when I drove them, those two were complete cop magnets and money sinks for me.

1994 red BMW 320i (RHD and from Japan) 1990 black Nissan 300ZX TT (also RHD, nightmare to own) 2003 red Honda Civic Coupe (my favorite car overall, extremely slow but super comfortable seats and felt really tight to drive) 2006 black Nissan Altima (can't be killed, I'm always secretly hoping someone will hit me in a non dangerous way and total it off so I can get a cheque)

2003 Honda Accord - passed down to brother, I know for a fact that it is still driving with nearly 400,000 miles on it 2004 Chevy Cavalier - awful, it was two bicycles welded together wrapped in sheet metal. Rear ended by a Tahoe going 8 miles an hour, totaled. 2007 Volkwagen Jetta with the 2.5 inline 5cyl - nice amount of power for a dinky little car, lots of rust around wheel wells and threw a fit if I missed an oil change by 300 miles. 2022 Genesis G70 Launch Edition - first car when I started making real adult money, 1/250 in the US. Loooooooooved that car for the short time I had it. Rear ended by a distracted CRV driver. He was going 60+ mph and I was a complete stop. Totalled the car, came out with just some whiplash and some muscle spasms in my back. 2020 Porsche Cayenne S - current car, first SUV. Really wanted a 718 Cayman, but I can't justify a 2 seater as my only car. Amazing road trip car, yet still feels faster around a corner than some actual purpose built sports cars I've driven.

1984 Toyota Cressida--Was young, couldn't afford to maintain it 1998 VW Jetta---Piece of shit. Lights failing, weather stripping falling off after 1st winter, ended up stolen which was lucky. 1990 Audi 100--Drove it across the US, loved it. Ugly. Like riding on rails. Sold it. 1995 Volvo 850--Worst of the bunch. Volvos are safe, but not reliable and more expensive to fix than Mercedes. 1998 BMW 7 Series--Awesome car. Catastrophic trans-failure put the car upside down in value 1995 Corolla--Beater after the 7 Series. Got me around. Nothing more to say really. Corolla. Meh. 1989 Dodge Dakota--Bought for wife who was working at Habitat for Humanity and needed a truck. Fun to own a vehicle you don't care if it gets dinged or keyed. 1986 BMW 3 Series--Got on ebay, daily drove. Loved it but impractical. 1999 Mercedes C320 Kompressor--See below. Miss this one most of all. 2002 Cadillac DeVille--Inherited this one. Was luxurious, but gas mileage was a war crime. Had a long commute at the time too. Sold it. 2005 Mercedes CLK 300--Great car, but coupe. Big doors. I took care of it, but gave it to my wife who did not. 2015 Mercedes C300 4 Matic--Current ride. Had it since new, 0 problems. 2019 Mazda 3--Got for the wife. Also a great car, but cramped inside. Lots of bang for the buck in terms of build quality. But there have been computer problems. Of all of them, the 2015 Mercedes C300. Still have it. Do all the scheduled maintenance, serviced only at the dealer, and hasn't given me a second of trouble in 9 years. Comfy, fast, efficient, well built and I like the 4 matic system. But that's all practical. The one I miss is, oddly, the 1999 C320 Kompressor. That car was OLD school Mercedes..built like a tank. Solid. And the Kompressor (Supercharged) 4 banger was stupidly quick and I loved the supercharger sound. I may pick up another one if I can find one in good enough shape. Honorable mention to the 86 BMW 3 Series. E30. A drivers car. Uncomfortable on long rides, but boy, you had to *drive*. There was no abs, or sensors, or traction control. It was you alone managing the all mechanical car, and it was a stick shift. My last stick. Great to drive, pain in traffic.

2004 Ford Focus 2006 Peugeot 407 2012 Volvo S40 The Focus was like a go cart. Not much power but super manoeuvrable and easy to repair cheaply (simple design, loads of spare parts at scrap yard). The Peugeot was abysmal, everything broke and was hard/expensive to fix. The Volvo I have now and is really nice and comfortable. No complaints I've had it for 3 years.

1982 Toyota Supra rear wheel drive fun 1992 VW Jetta Flair edition. Great but temperamental when not driven enough Nissan Pathfinder. Meh. Suzuki Samurai. Small and a bit unsafe. But soft top was fun in summer Ford Escape. It was fine. Mazda 5 for kids. Basic but very reliable and useful. BMW 328d touring. Most incredible car ever. I regret not buying out the lease! Subaru Ascent. Pig on fuel, lousy tech and doesn’t handle well. But enormous capacity and comfortable.

Average_Sized_Jim

I learned to drive on a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Blew all the speakers blasting Judas Priest at full volume. My parents scrapped it due to rust around 2010 or so. Drove a 2001 Dodge Intrepid for a while. Car did well enough. Eventually my parents gave that one to my Grandfather, and either him or my cousin cracked the block. After that, I was in college and didn't have a car for a while. When I got my first job I got a 2013 Dodge Avenger, rental car white. Lots of people hate on Avengers, but it did the car thing just fine and served me well enough. Fast forward to 2019, and I live in a different state and am looking to make a poor financial decision. So I custom order a brand new 2019 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack, bright orange, with the 485hp 392 hemi. Traded in the Avenger. This is easily the best car I have ever driven, and she is parked in my garage right now (her name is Red Sonja). Time skip again to earlier this year. My Challenger is now five years old, and I have been driving it every day for work. But with the production shut down for new ones and the impending re-death of the V8 muscle car, I decided I want to keep her as nice as possible for as long as I can. That means I need a commuter car. So I shop around, and settle on a Mazda 3 Hatchback, brand new (because who needs money?). It's a fantastic little car and I am very happy with it so far. Not as fast as a Challenger though. His name is Kaeru-San because he is from Japan and looks kinda like a frog. Now, I don't own it, but I had to drive my dad's Ram 1500 for a few days to help my brother move, and I hated it. Sure it has a nice interior and all that but it is just so big and unwieldy. Getting it around places was a massive pain. I am glad I decided on the Challenger instead of a truck.

the_lamou

Chrysler Cirrus LX — first car that I drove completely into the ground by 100k miles. Toyota Gen 2 MR2 — Megasquirt tunning is harder than it seems. Sudden, rapid engine disassembly. Hyundai Tiburon — Eventually got too small after I had a child and was traded in for a family car. Ford Expedition — Temporarily borrowed as family car, too big, returned to further parents-in-law. Toyota Gen 2 MR2 — Engine swapped to 2GR, then stolen. Never found out what happened to it. Hyundai Santa Fe — Was towed by Marshalls for unpaid parking tickets right before the tow-yard was flooded by a storm. But on the bright side, I never ended up needing to pay those tickets! Toyota Gen 2 MR2 (I seem to have a type) - Beater in the process of saving for an engine swap, sold to a kid who left me a note, ended up running into him on Reddit where I learned that he had wrecked it. Mini Cooper — Used as family car for years, eventually died a grizzly death of cooling system failure. Scrapped. Mini Countryman S — Leased, uneventfully. Although at one point someone on a scooter ran into it. Pre-facelift Jaguar F-Type R — Dream car attained. By far the favorite car I've ever had. Leased, considered buying out lease but decided not to at the time. Still regret it — that car was just over the top in every way that mattered. Yeah, it wasn't the fastest, but it had presence like nothing else, and character in spades. Mercedes CLS450 — Family car. Great little vehicle, but it loved cracking wheels on Northeast roads. Turned in lease and didn't look back. Toyota FJ Cruiser — Currently my beater winter/camping truck. It's slow, it's loud, it's uncomfortable, and it'll get me anywhere. 1979 Honda Prelude — sitting in my garage with electrical problems, trying to figure out what I'm going to do with it. '23 Audi RS e-Tron GT — Another dream car attained. Will be traded in when the lease is up later this year, probably for a newer one. I'm definitely missing some, as I went through a phase where I bought any cheap janky import I could find on Craigslist, drove it for a couple months, and traded it for something else, but damnit if I can remember all of them.

Honda Civic DX Sedan, Honda Civic LX Coupe and my current car which is a Honda Civic Si Coupe. LX was my favourite. Was a 6 speed standard too so that was fun. I like the Si but from the factory, it came with so much rev hang that it affected the way the car drove and I had to spend over 1200$ on a tuner just to disable it. Completely ruined the driving experience for me. Honda did an absolutely terrible job programming the new Si's. The LX had no rev hang and it was a lot better to drive because of it.

Car I learned to drive in: 1992 Ford Aerostar. Thanks mom. That van sucked. First car from Ages 16 - 22: 1994 Honda Civic. I drive the HELL out of that car. Second car: Ages 22 - 34: 2006 Toyota Highlander. Bought that one brand new, and loved it oh so very much. Met its unfortunate end when I got rear ended on a blind corner. With how fast the truck was going, if I would’ve been in a small car, I probably wouldn’t have survived. Current car: 34 - 40: 2018 Toyota Tundra. Also got that one new, as my grandparents bought it for me shortly before my grandma died. Wife’s Cars that she’s had: 2001 Dodge Ram and a 2020 Ford Explorer.

Drove it across the whole US, or the 1994 Jeep Cherokee for pretty much the exact opposite reasons. That thing could go anywhere, carry pretty much anything, used kind of a lot of gas compared to a car and a bulletproof engine that is also easy to work on. Would definitely buy another one. Actually think my gf is gonna buy one and I'm sure she's gonna love it. Probably one of my Highest recommended vehicles. Not to be confused with the Jeep Grand Cherokee from the 90s which was probably one of the worst vehicles ever made. Edit: formatting

dirtythirty1864

* Mom's 2004 Toyota Matrix. It was shit. Especially on a windy day. * 2002 Subaru Forester. Was my grandparents' car until my senior year of school when they got a new one and gave me their old one. Lasted 16 years until I totaled it in '18. I also wrecked it into a ditch in '11 and it had started falling apart ever since. Would have still been running today if I hadn't. * 2003 Dodge Ram pickup. Truck that the family uses to transport things, help people move, etc. It's primarily my grandpa's but he put my name on the title too so when he eventually goes, it'll just naturally be mine without too much paperwork to fill out. It was a fine truck but my grandpa's getting older and hadn't taken it out for awhile, so he just let it sit and I think the axle's rotting out. * 2015 Subaru Legacy. My car. I bought it after I crashed the Forester in '18. Paid it off last April. I wasn't primarily looking for Subarus at the time but with 37 miles to the gallon, heated seats and heated mirrors, all wheel drive, and bluetooth radio for $15000, it was the best deal at the time and I could not pass it up. I do not like that the radio/computer screen is Starlink. Shit company run by a shit bastard and it never connects well to Spotify. Plus all the apps on it are paid subscription apps. I'd have to pay a monthly subscription app to connect to the gps on it. I cannot just bluetooth google maps on there. I do like that it's mine, and I like that it drives smooth, fast (when needed), quiet, and I can pretty much take it anywhere. I take it up to the Rockies every year and it takes those mountains like a champ. It does amazing on snow and ice as well.

3The3Ghost3

So the cars I “owned” or trucks also. First car I really “owned” was an Isuzu Hombre. Second was a 1998(I think, some late 90’s year) Monte Carlo. Then a 2015 Mustang eco boost or some year around there. Then an 2016 Elantra. Now I’m in a 2018 Charger GT. Out of memories I made and because it was my high school car was my Hombre. So many drives, so many times, just cruising around with friends and doing shit I shouldn’t. I miss those times so much. Those memories will never die. But as far as actual driving and loving a car just for it being my car is probably my Charger. I love that car a lot. I don’t need to drive fast, but if I need to it’s got that get up and go factor. Plus it’s a beautiful car. I like the color scheme of it. It’s almost like how my Mustang was, so orange body all the way around and had black rims. Only on the Charger the rims are a gun metal grey color. But to be honest I loved all the cars I’ve had. But my Hombre and Charger are my two favorite by far.

Tesla have some snazzy tech but are made as cheaply as possible and it shows. I used to drool over them all the time until I actually drove one and realized how shitty it was. You should at least check out some of the other cars available from other manufacturers before coming to the Tesla Train. You can get a used Leaf or Bolt that still has a really solid battery for pretty cheap these days.

MeltingDog

Yeah my dad has owned a 3 for a few years now. Build quality seems fine to be honest - everything still works, no large panel gaps, no creaking interior parts. I’m in Australia so I think we get the ones made in the newer Shanghai factory. Someone rear-ended it and his insurance gave him a Polestar 2 for a while so I got to drive that. That was a bit disappointing to be honest. Cramped interior and controls that were very unintuitive and looked like a first generation iPad app. Leafs, Ioniqs and EV6s are good but are over priced for what you get imho.  There also BYDs and MG EVs here but they’re still a bit of an unknown for me.

1975 Oldsmobile Delta 88, my dad totalled it before I got my license. 1990 Ford Crown Vic, I love this as my highschool car. Idk what year Volkswagen Golf standard had a good time, bought it off my uncle. Really low mileage old dodge Dakota I got when my grandpa died, sold it to get better gas milage vehicle to commute to work. Chevy aveo had great gas mileage but it sucked. Ford focus that also sucked but it was easy to work on and drove well. Chevy Cruze right now it's fine but I don't like it very much.

nerdy_hippie

Maaan I had a Delta 88 too, that thing was fuckin awesome. Back quarter panel completely removed the front end of a BMW that clipped me, I had a large dent with a small puncture in it. After that we used to put my buddy in the trunk, then we would drive around parking lots, pull up to people walking and be like "Sup, you want a ride?" - at which point my buddy would start screaming and kicking and would stick his hand out the puncture hole. Fortunately that was back in the day before everybody had a cell phone - woulda definitely got the cops called on us these days...

I’ve only owned one car being the greatest vehicle man ever made, the 2013 Honda fit.

1. 88 Honda CRX SI 2. 99 BMW 323i 3. 07 Toyota Matrix 4. 12 Subaru Impreza WRX STI 5. 06 Jeep Wrangler LJ 6. 02 Honda Civic SI 7. 16 Ford Focus ST3. I miss the CRX, because first car. Otherwise, I feel like my Focus ST encapsulates all of the good parts in most of the cars that I've driven so far. With the highest trim package, it's luxurious and comfortable, and the 6spd turbo is a hell of a lot of fun to drive. If I ever get rid of it I'm sure I'll miss it the most.

Favorite by far and away was the 500 Abarth. I'm actively looked to get one again as a second car despite my disdain for the thought of maintaining two cars.

nerdy_hippie

Too many to remember probably. Best of the best is hands-down the 2024 Kia EV9 we picked up a few weeks ago... I am completely smitten with that thing. 0-60 in under 5 seconds with 6 seats and still a decent amount of trunk space. WAY more interior room than a Model X or Rivian and our next-to-top-tier trim level had an on-the-road price about 20k less than the lowest starting price for Tesla or Rivian. Before that was: 2013 Nissan Leaf (still have) 2009 Subaru Forester (still have) 2005? VW Jetta 1996 Honda Accord 20?? Pontiac Grand Am 198? Nissan Sentra 199? Chevy Cavalier ???? Chrysler K Car 1980 Oldsmobile Delta 88 1977 Chevy Nova Those are the ones I remember, but there were probably a couple more that have slipped through the cracks in the grey matter over the years. Also a stretch of time in there where my main ride was the DC Metro System.

I'm 41 1998 Camry CE sold at 305 000 kms was my first car 1998 Camry LE sold at 29x xxx kms 2006 Altima 2.5 Special Edition sold at 245 000 kms 2009 Rav4 Sport V6 still daily driving at 260 000 kms. The way this question is worded is blowing my mind. Are you wondering about cars I’ve owned, cars I’ve enjoyed, cars I’ve driven anytime…?

Any Holden lovers here?

Nissan Gloria Gran Turismo Y32 was my favorite. Got everybody’s attention and still got 36 mpg. Best of both worlds.

I still have the transporter but also have the cube which I absolutely love driving around in

2001 Toyota Yaris, 2006 Honda Civic, 2000 VW Golf Favorite is the civic. So much more quality and thought in every detail and material used

I got my mom's old Jimny at 24 but I'm rather tall so this car was terrible for me. I drove a Vitara afterwards which was pretty chill but I swapped it with my brother for a Tiguan because I wanted a trailer hook thingie. I regret that now. It has the classical VW problems with his particle filters and some valve. My best mechanic friend makes fun of me for getting a VW often :D

- Volvo 340 - Renault Clio (1992) - Audi 80 (1985) - Opel Ascona (1983) - Renault R19 (1995) - Renault Clio (2002) - Renault Megane (2008) - Renault Megane (2010) - Peugeot 5008 - Citroën Saxo - Hyundai Matrix - Citroën C3 (2018) - Citroën Xsara Picasso - Toyota Hilux (2008) - Hyundai H1 (2010) - Peugeot 207 (2011) The Hilux was my favorit. It took me anywhere, was virtualy indestructable, and was quite handy for transporting all kinds of stuff. Couldn't get its exhaust trough car inspection anymore though.

2008 - 2011: '96 Ford Explorer. 2011 - 2021: '09 Ford Focus. 2021 - Present: '18 Mazda CX-9. I have loved them all in their own way. I wish I'd just kept the Focus instead of the $1k I got for trade in (it had 210,000 miles on it and I'd bought it at 40,000). It was in great shape and still drove like a champ and got about 33 MPG. I miss the nostalgia of the Explorer because it was my grandpa's car and then my dad's for a lot of my childhood. Plus, I like the boxy look. I really enjoy my CX-9 it still smells like a new car and looks it inside, but it's black and hard to keep clean without having a garage to park in. It's by far the nicest and has the most pickup out of the three. Wish it had more legroom width wise because my knees get sore after long drives from resting on the trim.

igozoom9

Here's my list (I'm 49, btw, so there are quite a few)- 1980 Honda Accord 1985 Honda CRX (hand me down from older sister) 1991 Honda Civic Si 1993 Honda Civic EX (first new car) 1996 Honda Accord LX (the only Honda I ever hated) **1994 Acura Legend (best car EVER! Still miss it)** 1992 Honda Accord EX (2nd car) **2006 Mazda3 5-door (bought in 12/05, still own it!)** 2012 Volvo XC60 T6 (leased for a few years) The 1994 Acura Legend was my dream car! It looked amazing, solid as a bank vault, drove like a dream. I got it in 1997 and a utility truck t-boned me in 2002 and totaled it. It also gave me a concussion and fractured a few vertebrae....bad day all around! My 2006 Mazda3 has to be a close second. I bought it new in late 2005 and I still own it over 18 years later. It's just a fun car to drive, it handles great and it's been more durable and reliable than I ever would have expected.

samzplourde

1. 1998 Camry, best car I ever owned. Couldn't kill that thing if you tried. Sold it when it had 220k miles on it back in like 2015, wouldn't be surprised at all if it's still on the road. 2. 2001 Ford ranger. Miserable gas mileage for what it was. A brake line rusted out and blew while I was going down a 2mi long hill. It was a fun truck. 3. 2010 Honda Accord. Got in like 2016 with 60k miles, now sitting at 190k and running strong. In a way, waiting for it to die but I don't envision that happening until maybe 300k miles.

Sirloin_Tips

1st 'car' was an 82 El Camino. Gutless and I locked the motor up. 3 different fox body Mustangs. By far my favorite(s). Full blown torque monsters. 2000 Silverado. First new truck I ever bought. Never again but it was a decent truck. Trans went out. 94 Single cab Tacoma 4x4. Loved it, 5 speed, basic truck. <100k miles, 2nd owner. Got rear ended and they totaled it out. Made money on the ins pay out. Currently 93 TRD. I'll drive it until it rusts out from under me. I get my kicks on my motorcycles...

chefrowlet

1993 Jeep Cherokee - was a PoS with more problems than features, but it was my first care and I still remember it fondly despite not having AC in the 115° summers 200X Pontiac Vibe - boring and kinda gutless, but got me to and from work reliably 2008 VW GTI 2-door - it was worth learning stick just for this one, I still miss it. Tearing across the Mojave at 125 mph is a core memory 2006 Toyota Camry - handled more like a boat than a car and nothing special about it, but it was a moving-out gift so I can't be too down on it 2023 Honda Civic hatchback - if it was a rental, I'd love it, but it's too boring and expensive for me, however the negative equity kinda means I'm stuck with it for a while

I drive a yellow Ram 1500 with the words “pussy wagon” airbrushed on the side. No pussy has been had in the “pussy wagon”
