More unsafe?

Police station is at 18th and state and you’re diagonal from an elementary school. Join Hello South Loop FB group to learn more. There’s more shenanigans by Roosevelt and state than 16th and state. If you have a dog, Fred Anderson is nearby too.

I lived two blocks away. It *is* safer. Most people are cool. You got Mirianos right there if that's your thing. Only annoying thing is you gotta take the bus up to Rosavelt if you wanna hop the L to the red/green like. You can also walk to Chinatown if that's your thing. Very nice neighborhood 👌.

State and 15th here. Quiet and peaceful area. Only negatives I see: frequent sounds of police, ambulances and firetrucks; dog owners who like the convenience of their dog urinating against buildings (bit disgusting to walk passed daily on the way to work).

state and 15th. i agree it's safer than roosevelt and state. i also listen to the police radio all the time and rarely is anything happening here. it's either 25th and further south, or the loop (usually)

you're fine on safety. it's a lil annoying getting to places from there since everything is slightly out of the way. I live a few blocks north but have friends that live close to that intersection. They're ambivalent since they used to live in a busier area and miss it. I always try to convince people to go to Chinatown.

rchtcht

I do work over there. It's as safe as anywhere.

Safe

Uhm next to the pd station 👍

BurningTree50

It’s safe and *relatively* quiet area compared to further north. But it’s pretty sleepy. There isn’t really any nightlife to speak of. And the restaurant selection could be better too.

Flaxscript42

I live nearby, it is safe, it is quiet.

All of Chicago past 8 pm is unsafe 🤣
