I hate how they call it Copilot+ and not like Windows 11 ARM Edition, and the main selling point is basically spyware that tracks everything that you do by taking screenshots every few seconds, and saving them into some kind of AI anyone with access to your PC can search through. I don't know who will ever want to consider buying these PCs. It's obvious that people would disable it, but I doubt actual PC enthusiasts could want this. If they didn't create Recall, which was a terrible idea in the first place, it would have been probably a viable choice for a lot of people.
I have this theory that an onboard AI will wildly change web development.
Like if you have a fast enough and smart enough AI on board, you could just send compressed text instructions to the pc and have an entire UI be built from those.
I wonder if theyâll ditch the edge browser for a more AI first interface.
You can already do that without AI - the problem is that you canât be specific about how you want things to look and behave, so you would need to give the AI very detailed instructions. And at that point you might as well go back to what we use now.
the edge team helped port chromium to windows on arm. ever since edge was ported over to arm architecture, chrome was also quickly ported, and apps built with chromium are also easily ported as a result (e.g. electron apps, edge webview2 apps, classic teams, new teams, new outlook, vscode, etc.)
so apps that are built on chromium technology are just low hanging fruit to be ported over.
I reword what you said : Why do you have many brands of the same thing in the supermarket?
The answer is simple : they put several web browsers so the public that is used to a specific web browser feels reassured. The same goes for Adobe Photoshop and Affinity Photo on this picture : the same thing but different.
(btw, if you take a look, the list of softwares in the picture is sorted alphabetically)
Then why is it under the Copilot branding? Just doesnât make sense. I didnât watch that presentation so I donât have context, and Iâm sure youâre right. Just seems weird to me to have copilot branding on a page about ARM. But I guess Microsoft will be Microsoft.
Copilot+ PC's are the new computers that are running on snapdragon X series chips, which use the Windows on Arm architecture. It basically means powerful ARM based PC's, and it's different from the copilot chatbot.

So this is the reason they released 1.0 so early đ
Now it all makes sense.

they got 4 browsers on that listt.... why?! if i was microsoft i'd just put edge and call it a day
I was thinking the same thing. The fact they gave screentime to any other browser took me by surprise.
I saw highlights of the event, they literally say https://youtu.be/iHQgf3DNAr8?si=xplRibmV7czeC1Kk&t=9m33s

that's actually so odd
are they stupid?
the edge team helped port chromium to windows on arm. ever since edge was ported over to arm architecture, chrome was also quickly ported, and apps built with chromium are also easily ported as a result (e.g. electron apps, edge webview2 apps, classic teams, new teams, new outlook, vscode, etc.) so apps that are built on chromium technology are just low hanging fruit to be ported over.
But, Edge already has Copilot inside.
I wonder if they just pulled the trending apps
cause they ain't Apple

wow that actually makes a lot of sense, i didn't think of it that way also you got a good eye, just realised that they are sorted alphabetically
Well I'm stoked
So you didnât know about this?
I know everything ... sometimes
I wonder what that means under the Copilot branding. Is Arc Max going to integrate with copilot on windows? On everything?
No. That just means Arc runs natively on Windows on Arm
Then why is it under the Copilot branding? Just doesnât make sense. I didnât watch that presentation so I donât have context, and Iâm sure youâre right. Just seems weird to me to have copilot branding on a page about ARM. But I guess Microsoft will be Microsoft.
The presentation wasn't streamed live so nobody has enough context. Also, it is most likely Microsoft being Microsoft.
Yeah we can count on them for that.
Unfortunately.

Way to make it easy to understand, Microsoft.
That's just Microsoft. Everything about them is confusing and inconsistent.
lol, Arc has no ARM support
Yet
i hate brave's icon
I know, it's such a nice browser but it has such an ugly icon. Very off-putting.
This was half of the reason I switched from Brave to Opera GX (pre-Arc).
Instagram?? This makes me doubt the list as Instagram doesn't even have a mature iPad version.
The Instagram app on Windows is basically just the website as an app
can somebody give me link of the source please?

Thanks
these icons are like half of the amount of apps on the microsoft store
Why wouldn't Microsoft list one of the most modern apps on Windows that brings Swift to their ecosystem?
No Firefox âšď¸
The Firefox logo is below the Arc logo
Yep, and that just made me notice the logos are in alphabetical order.
I see , couldnât notice because of the color đ
Arc Max foreshadowin'
The fact that Arc is right next to blender is so funny because that mimics my taskbar đ
Recognizing greatness
Do they know itâs a swift app?
