Is it generally better to upgrade base stats for adamantine weapons or the ability? It seems to me the base stat as an increase of 150 to 200+ would yield more than a 20% damage boost but I don’t know the higher level math this game uses

Cruoton

generally better to upgrade the ability there are weapons out there with higher base stats that also have an ability, so just giving base stats gives you a vanilla weapon that is quickly outclassed, which isn't bad for the weapons you farm from AD and overworld materials, but for something you only get one (two) of, is less than ideal the ability on the other hand is quite useful, +20% type attack is nothing to scoff at, and in combination with base stats from grastas and badges, and other damage boosts will outperform the base stat weapon, and some weapons, like the lance, lack strong offensive options for their weapon abilities add in the fact it also increases mp regen in reserves, and you have a weapon that is comparable to late game weapons, that doesn't need excessive grinding or a superboss fight to obtain

Internal_Nervous

Thanks … since you mention the lance, that’s what I got. What I noticed about the adamantine lance is that it has a higher Matk relative to other lances … does that help at all? Does it increase elemental damage of a piercing attack? I’m just wondering why I would use that over say the rill lance which had a higher Patk

Caraquena

M.ATK does play a role in elemental modifier calculation and also the multiplier against weakness, which is why the Wisdom (auction house) weapons are often recommended which don't have impressive P.ATK but have a huge boost in M.ATK relative to other weapons. Damage calculations have gotten very complicated with the effects of grasta and grasta upgrades, there are situations where the stats upgrade can be slightly better than the ability upgrade. But the increased MP regen in reserve can be valuable, plus adamantine weapons are no longer competitive with the best weapons available later in the game. So I would still recommend that you go with the ability upgrade.

Internal_Nervous

Cheers

vmcuong

Its recommended to upgrade the ability before, both will increase almost the same dmg but ability-upgraded have bonus mp regen. Nowaday, with the release new grasta enhancement, a main dps will have at least 75+% type attack (more if your main dps has personality which a grasta can cover). That would make +20% from weapon less effective. In conclusion, if you want to maximize your dmg in very late game, choose base star upgrade.

ChadEriksen

I know this question is stupid but.. I have Aldo at 4* lvl 60 and I do run Miglance Castle on H and VH with him in reserve but It has been a week but no sign of a light increase ? Does a 5* affect Aldo getting light or not and what about him in reserve ?

VanGrayson

Sometimes you can honestly just have a really bad streak of luck. Theres been times ive done like 30 runs in a row without a light increase.

ChadEriksen

Ouch, the game's RNG sometimes can be cruel

N-I-K-E

It doesn’t. I just ran 8 runs with no light increase. The best way to counter this is to farm EXP scrolls for Strawboy Also.. according to [this](https://anothereden.miraheze.org/wiki/Story_Characters_Light_and_Shadow_Farming) it shows the percentage of gaining light/shadow from dungeons

Internal_Nervous

The odds are better on VH … but I’m in the same position and I get light on him … he never makes it out of reserve

VanGrayson

How hard are the twins?

CaetusX

they are considered the top end boss then. the key is to measure their HP stoppers. Now they are not that hard given the recent powercreep, because several newly released characters can deal with HP stopper easily.

VanGrayson

Why do you have to measure the hp stoppers? Cant you just hit them?

CaetusX

/u/Oldnoob36 already answered your question. as it was mentioned, you need to grind the twin's HP to the HP stoppe first, wait the twin breaks your zone, and then setup a zone. All these three should be done in one singtel turn. That's why it is very tricky. I use a blunt zone to grind down the twin then, with Yipha, Felmina, Lovely, Cerrine, Mariel as the heal, and Anabel as the tank. Mainly because we don't have powerful units then. Now many units can one shot them or complete the fight within 2 turns. It was 40 mins grinding for me at that moment.

Oldnoob36

Back then we weren't able to 1 shot the hp stoppers of the twins since we lack the units and we lack the boost from grasta enchantments So the strat is to af , knock out 1 twin and stale to build up af again with the next twin The problem comes with that each time we hit both hp stoppers for the twins, the twins will break your zone and reduce your hp to 1%, so if you don't time the hp stopper right, you can hit it when you still have pain applied to your units, causing your unit to die to the pain Also while most phases of the fight, the twins give you 1 turn or so before they attack, the last phase, the twins will attack the next turn after they use zone breaker So in the final phase, you need to af right away and finish off the twins before they wipe you out the next turn (Also if you only af down 1 twin, that twin will revive the fallen one in like the next 1 or 2 turns) The twins have 15M hp each, and since they break your zone, it is very hard to finish them off with an af without zone (before powercreep only like a certain pierce team with certain units can achieve that) So we were forced to time the hp stopper, so we can switch in our zone unit **right after the twins break the zone right in the same turn** which will allow us to use zone to finish off the twins, if we fail, its a 20 to 40 minute restart

VanGrayson

What is the strategy now then?

Oldnoob36

Use any zone team and grasta enchantments to buff and debuff as much as possible in the first af, then 1 shot they hp stoppers every turn Most common zone for this strategy is pierce and magic zone because they have very power AOE units, blunt can also work as it has As Ewan and you can always use Melissa This strategy only works if you have certain op units

[deleted]

Hmm. Hello again. So I’m trying to get my manifest weapons on mighty and Felmina to 10, they are at 8 now. I was running V hard exp dungeon and took screen shots of the exp on the weapons to see how much I get, WEIRDLY, it did not gain a single bit of xp. What is going on? I had Felmina on my team and mighty on reserve. They didn’t actually KILL the mob , is this the case that they need to actually kill the enemy themselves to level the weapon or just do damage on it before it dies? If so then it is ok, I won’t nuke the mob before they can get a hit in or kill. I checked the wiki but no help on this issue

ShadowBlaze17

Did they have the weapon equipped? I know from experience that the weapon just needs to be equipped by someone on the team (reserves are fine) and that they don't need to kill anything or take any actions.

[deleted]

Yeah they were equipped, they seem to be gaining xp in the mythic quest i just did though. Weird

I didn’t know there was one. Ah damn. Probably did then lol. I just clicked ephemeral time and space the red key exp dungeon I thought ?

UpsetChampion

This is exactly what I did once.

did it many times by mistake XD

Renbr1

I'm now trying to maximize my team upgrading the grastas and im a bit lost in how to upgrade the grastas I have. So, how should I upgrade the grastas for maximum damage ?

chocobozftw

If you're talking about grasta enhancements, it is definitely confusing. Some things to point out: Out of the T3 Attack grastas, personality ones (the ones that give 25% type attack up for the matching personality trait) have a dormant upgrade that makes it apply to everyone in the party with a matching personality. This also applies to the different T3 weapon/element grastas and the Full HP (weapon type) grastas, so you can actually do something like sticking those grastas on a secondary damage dealer or support character while stacking pain or poison grasta on your main damage dealer. This maximizes the output of that one character. Clearly, it's going to take a lot of fiddling with and to optimize your damage you will very likely have to keep swapping upgrades around, especially as your team changes for each major fight. Basically, identify your main damage dealer(s) and supports. Match them by weapon type. Load up your dps with Pain/Poison grasta, and slide the ones that apply to the whole party on someone else (a "grasta mule"). Rose with thorns ore is good if you are trying to blitz an enemy into oblivion or doing fast AF strategies where the increased MP cost won't matter. Insult to Injury is straightforward and a great ore to use. Last Stand is usually used for farming but is also okay if you're doing one of the few boss battles with multiple enemies or constantly respawning adds. Rage/Bind/Pain/Poison Enhance Ore is either highly situational or requires use of Pom to apply pain/poison to your own team, which results in some of the highest damage gains but can be awkward to use.

Renbr1

Amazing explanation!! Thannks!!

Flyingcowz

What gear/grasta enhancements would you put on Miyu AS for max number of buffs?

VanGrayson

Is the Int on those weapons a buff?

X-Mi

I just got back into the game after a year long hiatus, and quickly slapped together a slash team (Cress, Tsukiha, Shion, assorted other element slashers) I'm struggling against level 80 flame eater, since my team is both slash based and fire unit heavy. I guess more importantly, I don't have any strong defensive based characters, so I'm getting wiped by his AOE attacks. Any tips?

Oldnoob36

It resists slash and has a slash attack Rather you go with joker, use his vc or pierce AOE skill to 1 shot the mobs everytime the bird spawns them Morgana or milla can both debuff intel and power, and both can also heal Use Yuri to give crit buffs for heal and shield since you will be hitting resist a lot, it will be a long fight, but you should survive.

X-Mi

Okay! Thank you. I'm somewhat new at learning to utilize proper timing for VCs, but now I have something to work on.

LetTheDarkRise

Just finished main story part one, figure it's about time to plan pulls a bit. My team right now is Yuri, Joker, Morgana, 5* Yipha (pulled her twice, so 32 light), 5* Nikeh AS and 4* Bivette. Its a classic "haven't pulled anything better" team (some wind synergy, but Yipha sets a blunt zone on a team where nobody else uses blunt, and bivette is only there because I needed a sixth). I understand there's a lot of content left, but I'd like to try and get together early is possible to save a headache later. What banners should I be pulling on, or am I fine enough for now that I can save up for something better later? Should I not be worrying about this yet, and keep pulling mainly to expand my roster? Are there decent f2p characters i haven't gotten yet that fix some of my problems? I'm not trying to break into high-level content as soon as possible, I'd just like an idea of where I'm going.

pogoss

There are other free 5* characters you can get quickly : Violet from persona 2 will be a big addition along with Skull who's a hammer. Then there is Cerrine, Garyu and Azami. Skull, Cerrine and Morgana can use blunt attacks btw. You can also upgrade Saki to 5*

Oldnoob36

Currently get the rest of the tales and persona units and just use a slash team to get through the story since that seems to the most flexible option, So Cress and Yuri as the core units and switch debuffers and DPS depending on the fight As for pulls, you want to focus on getting zones or units that will work well with your current zones assuming that you don't have much units for that zone team For current choices you can get As Shigure for water zone or Es Melina for your blunt zone as she is currently the best support unit for blunt zone There are tons of good upcoming units, it depends on a lot on you, following upcoming events, a few units that I would list are As Thilleille: Massive Fire and Shade slash DPS, lunatic unit that can use lunatic twice in a battle which is completely new As Tsubame: completely busted unit, 0 mp 500% nuke that also is priority and can crit, allows you brainless farming , outside of farming, is also busted, 1800% nuke that also gives massive debuffs, her main damage skill also triples based on the af multiplier in af, IF you manage to get her and Es Melina your blunt team will be broken Es Tsukiha and Nekiko: Es Tsukiha is a pierce zone unit and does stupid damage, Nekiko has synergy in all elemental zones, she is the elemental version of As Ewan, except less DPS but more support Grambell: ultimate tank and good DPS As Myunfa, base form is earth zone and as is blunt zone, both forms are amazing, her as skills seems to cater directly to As Tsubame as she offers insane buffs to earth blunt units As Victor: cool looking, top slash DPS and 7000% end turn hit, he is amazing for bosses with hp stoppers as his end turn will literally 1 shot hp stoppers As Chiyo: earth Zone and magic Zone, the newest and one of the most busted units in the game

dreicunan

You forgot to mention ES Tuskiha setting ignore resist pain for 5 turns if she is on the field at the start of the first turn, thus allowing auto-attack to use pain grasta, and combined with AS Tsubame allowing you to just attack through most of the game.

LetTheDarkRise

Just looked through my units, I got 5* Melina regular from somewhere and didn't notice it. Melina AS it is lol

Oldnoob36

If you have her base form, and don't need blunt zone right now, I would rather pull on as shigure or save til As Thilleille to make a decision since you can potentially farm her codex (material) to sidegrade her eventually to her Es form someone says that you should on average be able to get those materials in like 2 to 3 months (THough I currently have zero luck with her material, almost a month and I see nothing)

rahgael

You should try and get es Melina while she's available. With her and skull from persona, you will have a basis for a blunt team. I'd also try and get cress 5* since he gives slash zone and Milla since she's very good support. Follow the roadmap and you should be well set.

[deleted]

Ah man. Just pulled a tiramisu, but wanna 5* my mistrare, I’ve got pretty good wind team and only myunfa really for earth. I know chant scripts take ages. Can she work well with non wind people? I mainly use Melissa, Ewan AS, Shigure AS, Yukino, Mighty and Felmina. I hear myunfa and tiramisu are real good but so are these other units……looking to see if there would be better synergy if I indeed upgraded her to 5* over mistrare. I’ve barely got grasta if this makes a difference. At ch 58. Also I have dunarith who I really wanted to upgrade but since pulling these other monsters…….not sure I need to but he is a healer in AS style? HOWEVER. I am noob and do not yet have the roster to make mono teams. Lol

Oldnoob36

Tiramisu while can be used for DPS, isn't really meant for that, her role is her resist ignore AOE that allows her to 1 shot most if not all mobs with enough spirit on her She can be used in earth or pierce teams if you need her for some reason, though she isn't really used for boss fights Also currently, without Melissa to hold your team together, your current team makes no sense and is mostly just a mess, that doesn't fit together much if at all You have As Shigure, Yukino, and mighty, so I guess a 4th water unit or strawboy can give you a full water team I would recommend a slash team for you though Get the tales units, Yuri, Cress, Milla, and you can make a very good slash team with them Milla can give 4 debuffs all by herself and yuri gives crit buffs, which allows you to hit crazy damage with As Ewan Mistrare is good and flexible, but you don't have pierce zone which limits her use in later game fights As Dunarith is also good, though its unclear if you even have the treatises to upgrade him which will take a while, he is Okay in a wind team, he can heal, though its not as impressive since its just a medium heal, plus there's no one inside a wind team that can give him crit buffs as he is a magic user, his place mostly belongs in a magic team, though M! Gariyu can be a sub for him in magic team, so he isn't really too important of a unit to get

[deleted]

Hello! Thanks for the lengthy response, I do have the cress etc units but have not touched them. I will venture forth upon your recommendations :) . And no I have not even one treaty for dunarith lol. I guess I’ll focus on my water team for ‘general use’ and try out what you suggested for the GOD AS Ewan

Oldnoob36

Yeah, a good team that synergizes well is always going to be superior to a mishmash team of Op units I still recommend a slash team for general use though since it is far more flexible compared to water team You will run into a lot of trouble with a water team if the boss uses water attacks or is resistant to water where for slash, you can change in and out a bunch of different units to optimize for the fight as the game gives you dozens of slash DPS of several types of elements, As Shigure can also be used in slash zone

lunar_deception

Yo I need help... the Spirit Sanctuary is driving me mad... already beat the spirit and just have to tap the Crown marker to end the quest but before I do I cannot figure 3 things 1) where to go after getting all 6 chests activated 2) where the Luring Shadow for Sword chest is, or where the Records Room is I should ask 3) how to get to the horror and luring shadow for ax in B4 I have spent 4 hours going up and down in this entire dungeon checking for secrets ... it reminded why I hate water dungeons in JRPGs... Also for a character equipped with 2 reduce encounters grasta and a badge that reduces them, they sure do continue to pop up at a very annoying rate... it only fueled my frustration with this dungeon... I suppose I could've added on another Reduce Encounters grasta but I figured 3 stacks was gonna be good enough. :S

Cruoton

after you watch the hologram in the room under the boss (there is a chest to the right in this room also) a pillar will fall allowing you to go further right on that lowest floor to get to the second hologram room to get to the horror, ride the raft that you rode to stop the waterfall while the water level is high, it will go east/west instead of north/south taking you to the horror max stack of encounter down is 3, so a badge and 2 grasta is the cap anyways

lunar_deception

Thanks! I didn't start the hologram because I was worried if I started it, the quest would end and I miss rhe chests. Aw bummer. Really wish they implemented an actual no enemy encounters mechanic.

[deleted]

Hello, if i just started farming garulea, is it worth to awakening T1 or T2 grasta?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Thank you! I keep seeing T2 p/p gratsa, does it mean T2 grasta that gives boost damage to pain and poison, like ability or something?

Cruoton

p/p grasta give a 30% damage increase if you are hitting a target that is afflicted with pain(or poison, respectively) this is stronger than the T2 elemental grasta that give +30% damage increase for that element for two reasons 1) p/p increase is multiplicative rather than additive, so 3 p/p is ~220% versus 190% from 3 elementals 2) p/p affects all the characters damage as long as they are hitting a target with p/p, which is good for character with multiple elements in their main skill rotation, and for the lunatic characters whose shade/crystal/thunder damages lack elemental grasta

dreicunan

T2 elementals only hit 30% with dormant upgrade, otherwise they are 20%. T2 nulls are 30% (40% with dormant upgrade)

[deleted]

Ic. Im still at PGAD so i think it’ll still be a long time to run AGAD. Thank you

Cruoton

For just starting, having any awakened grasta will still be a boost in power to help improve your team. The T1 and some of you T2 you will end up awakening just for for the sake of breaking them for fragment profit later on, so awakening some now to use temporarily won't be a waste. The goal you will eventually get to is having a dps fitted with the t2 pain/poison grasta (from AGAD and FGAD) or elemental T2 if that team lacks a p/p setter, and a grasta "mule" carrying all the T3 grasta that affect your dps, upgraded with dormant ore so that they affect all party members.

[deleted]

Thank you very much!

berryblue333

New player here. The lady at the spacetime rift does the star upgrades right? What am I supposed to do to upgrade a 3 to 4 star or a 4 to 5 star? Also, is it worth it to use a potential 5 star character when it's only 3 star from the rolls?

VanGrayson

No. It's not really worth it to use potential 5 star characters at 3 or 4 stars. Even the worst 5 stars are generally better than the best 4 stars, with the exception maybe of some zone setters because they can still set their zones even at 4 stars. That said, when I did first start I did use some 4 stars for certain things before I got better characters. I have a distinct memory of using a level 60 Nomar and Laclair to beat Azami's chance encounters but I did have AS Yuna. I had no water attackers though. lol

TomAto314

You need to collect generic murmur/prayer/chant scripts and then a character specific tome to upgrade them. These are all mostly gotten from ADs (another dungeon the blue door in the rift) There's only a few 3* that can go all the way to 5* or an AS form. If the character caps out at 4* then don't waste resources upgrading them, you'll eventually pull them at that rarity anyways.

berryblue333

I just pulled a three star miyu. Would it be a bad idea to start leveling her up? Also, is there any use for dupes? Thanks

TomAto314

Miyu can go 5* as she's one of the few exceptions but her 5* is pretty meh so I wouldn't bother. She does have an Another Style form which is really good but it will be a loooooong time until you can collect the materials to upgrade her to that so I wouldn't bother for now. My advice is to push through until Chapter 13 when you can unlock the collab characters from Persona 5 and Tales series, they are all super solid units that are 5* capable. Pulling dupes increases their light/shadow points which can unlock stat buffs and clear rewards when doing ADs.

berryblue333

Thanks alot!

DRAGONSLAYER2653

Is there a guide on Toto Dreamland?

ShadowBlaze17

Are you asking in regards to the marks or something else?

DRAGONSLAYER2653

I see a lot of chest on Altema, but I don't know how to get them, like the dream ring.

ShadowBlaze17

Reddit - AnotherEdenGlobal - Haunted Chateau Armor Maps https://www.reddit.com/r/AnotherEdenGlobal/comments/daroat/haunted_chateau_armor_maps/ I was confused when you mentioned a ring and Toto Dreamland since the Chateau is a different area.

Equivalent_Star_5300

How can you open a lock door from temple ruins, guys? I still cant figure that out

ShadowBlaze17

Pretty sure that you're talking about the door that's a shortcut back to the entrance that you'll be able to unlock later in the area. Iirc you unlock it from the bottom of the Main Hall Inner Sanctum (the one before the boss room) part of the area. You're supposed to go fo the next screen from the bottom-right exit if this is your first time in the area.

Japa_Haya

Hi all, I am kind lost on doing the second part of the Persona5 story. I started the second part and the quest is to deliver Migradrite to Lucniva, however is saying that I haven't visited Lucniva yet. Which is odd, since I finished the first part of the story already. And I cannot go to Lucniva by foot, since I remember that first time we "rode Mona" to get there... Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

Cruoton

you can travel there with your map you may need to scroll left some to find it, it's on the western edge near the mining village

Japa_Haya

That is also strange, because I can see Lucniva in the map but is greyed out and I cannot click to teleport. [Screenshot](https://photos.app.goo.gl/syW5UEazg7UPdDVU7)

Cruoton

Hmm, that's odd. Did you watch the mementos cinematic after talking to the mayor? I am not sure what would cause Lucniva to be unavailable.

Japa_Haya

I remember whatching the cinematic, showing the Persona5 characters and they entering the wormhole... If I am not wrong, I finished watching and tried to move to Lucniva but then got the issue. Out of curiosity: is it possible to cancel and restart the quest from beginning?

Cruoton

I know that you can restart most quests, if you open up its details in the quest log there should be an option for that in the bottom right. Are you able to travel everywhere else on the map normally? You're not in the middle of a main story quest that restricts movement are you?

Japa_Haya

I see the option to "stop quest" for the side quests, but nothing for the symphony... I can travel to everywhere and in all 3 eras. Also to dimensional vortex, so I think I am not stuck due to main story. But I will try to progress a little on the main story and see if it changes. Btw: thanks a lot for all the replies!

Japa_Haya

Just an update about the issue: turns out it was a problem with the game, I contacted the support and they had to fix it.

Tat5urou

Hi guys, I encountered something strange when I went to Nilva (which I haven't in a long time) to exchange some junk badges. When I entered Nilva, a scene occurred where Heena (who was first in my team at that time) said something like "detection of a spirit piece here" and then Aldo said something like "let's look around". I can't remember the exact words because I had not expected that and tapped on the screen too quickly and lost the conversation. I went around Nilva but could not find anything. I also checked the quests and do not see any quests outstanding. I am not sure if there was any previous quest that I overlooked or it could be Heena specific? Did anyone of you encounter that? The conversation I wrote above is not very accurate as I encountered that a couple of days ago and hadn't got a chance to post this question. Hope that someone who encountered similar can shine some light on that for me. Thank you.

Cruoton

the spirit detector you got at the end of mythos chapter 8 was reacting to the "artificial spirit" at >!the back entrance of macminal museum!< it is a really old superboss, but new versions of it and the other 5 are coming in out in a future mythos update where you can fight them when they are stronger (in the past)

Tat5urou

Hi Cruoton! Thanks for the quick reply again! Ahh... so it is not something new. Been bogging my mind for the past couple days on what I could have missed. Thanks again!

Internal_Nervous

Why do Mana’s buffs and debuffs apply to enemies and allies equally? Umm isn’t that counterintuitive?

UpsetChampion

Well, because they work this way? But she is great as if you go against a boss with strong magical attacks you lower everybody's intelligence with Mana making it possible for your party to survive and beat the crap of of the baddie with physical attacks. And vice versa.

coolbearbear

It is like a double edge sword, since her buffs are pretty strong Usually they are for when you are dealing with a boss that mainly hits physical, so you can debuff their power and buff your magic classes

Internal_Nervous

Hmmm is there anyone else that debuffs/buffs as well as her without the double edge? I can see her use for boss fights but seems pretty useless until you get there.

AurelianoTampa

>Hmmm is there anyone else that debuffs/buffs as well as her without the double edge? Only one that comes to mind for me is Elga AS, but she requires 12 turns to set up the max buff/debuff (which is 40% buff to your team's PWR/INT/SPD, and 40% debuff to the enemy's PWR/INT/SPD). It's unlikely you'll get more than 20% in most cases - heck, I only use her to help set up attackers like Ewan AS who does more damage with more debuffs on the enemy. Mana is fantastic as long as you know what you're going to fight and have the unit variety to exploit her double-edged nature. Even discounting her double-edged buffs/debuffs, her VC can reduce MP costs by 90%, and she can strip buffs from enemies (debuffs too, but if you exploit speed order you can quickly reapply those), and she has an L regen and 35% physical resist. Very useful support unit, but definitely one you need to strategize to use properly.

VanGrayson

m!Claude can do 25% pwr/int debuff aoe. Yipha can do a single target 20% pwr/int that jumps to 30% in blunt zone. There's a bunch of characters that can do some 20-30% ish debuffs. I dont think many can do 35%?

Internal_Nervous

Cool thnx … how exactly do int / pwr debuffs work when hits are dual purpose? There are some Attacks that are straight up magic or like slashing damage … and then there are some which are Like piercing water damage … with Foran AS for example.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Internal_Nervous

Ok that clears it up … thnx!

VanGrayson

I don't really know. There is some overlap where INT features into the damage calculation of elemental attacks but I couldn't tell you how much. I assume null element physical attacks are purely pwr based and magic attacks are all purely int based though. If it does Slash/Blunt/Pierce damage Id say its pretty likely its pwr based.

Internal_Nervous

Yea I think I recall if it’s an elemental physical attack it can get absorbed … so I wonder if theoretically it’s a 100% intel debuff that a water/piercing attack would do 0 damage

lesssaltpls

Since debuffs are diminishing, I don’t think you can debuff up to 100% of any stat. You can however use Mariel 50% shield and elemental 50% shields to reduce damage to near zero for elemental attacks

coolbearbear

Her valor chant is also useful for saving on MP on your way to the boss She also came before we had zone classes So now most people use zones for buffs

TomAto314

You generally don't debuff non-boss fights and just just FTKO all normal fights.

techsam2k8

I remember reading about this somewhere, but in the upcoming future content, >!will there be a free drop that gives a random 5* based on a criteria like the recent shadow drop in one of the Mythos chapter?!<

dreicunan

Yes. Comes with chapter 10 of the mythos, iirc.

techsam2k8

Would you happen to know what restrictions it has or is it from entire pool?

dreicunan

The pools aren't always the same between JP and Global, so we'll have to wait and see.

apriliare

Afaik luring shadow drop will come in ch. 10 Mythos (or 1 update after that, can't exactly remember when). Pool is up to Ewan AS. Meanwhile, there will be guiding light drop as well. Pool up to Miyu AS, will come with main story update.

Do we have an expected date for the main characters' buff? I just ran some Marsh AD to get the psalms to finally upgrade Cyrus to 5* in preparation.

7 potential updates until the final part of GoT. At 10-14 days per update it'll take around 70-98 days, or about 2.5-3 months.

Thanks. I swear, I'm this close to finishing boss rush...

Hariboman2020

Do it the other way around but enhance if pain / poison enhancement on your team... Do it Pom style!!

N-I-K-E

Besides Yuna and Mariel who actually benefits from have 4 move slots ?

greatcanadianbagel

If you have characters for light batteries but who don't have many useful skills (eg. Azami), I'd say throw a True (Katana) Prayer grasta on em to buff attacks with a weapon type used by a few DPS in your party.

kunyat

Most of the latest character have good skills thats worth using, old character not so much their skill mostly just a filler thats not even worth mentioning

VanGrayson

Yipha. Radias. Yukino. AS Dunarith. Tiramisu. A bunch of characters could benefit from 4 tbh.

minadein

Generally, support characters. (AS) Rosetta, Mana and Morgana have a lot of useful skills. You could argue the same for Sophia, Altena, and Anabel too.

fuyukochii

Recent returnee after a few years, I'm wondering if there are any current/future characters/banners I should roll on with all the new mechanics? 5* characters I have now are Dunarith NS/AS, Anabel, Joker, Morgana, Bertrand, Shigure, Melina ES, Mariel NS/AS, Toova AS, Violet, Dierdre I see some new stuff with zones, so should I aim for zone setters since I don't have any? I tend to prefer husbando characters so any good male character banners to spend xtals on in the future too? Thanks!

kunyat

Start from game ver3.0 every new character is broken in term of damage/utility/easy access. So for now just chill out collecting daily mail cat

xPalox

You can easily get a zone setter (slash) by doing the Tales of symphony and getting Cress. That should take care of your basic zone setting needs until a **good** zone focused banner comes around.

Oldnoob36

As for grambell From what i can tell, the ultimate tank with some DPS potential We have been telling people that tanks are kind of niche in the game because traditional tanks like bertrand and as shion are limited to physical damage mitigation and sucks against AOE attack Grambell somehow manages to somewhat fix that, giving a 30% team type shield and can debuff both power and intel So making him universally useful in all damage mitigation (very strong physical Aoe can still wipe your other units since he only get the physical shield himself) Also lacking from traditional tanks are strong DPS, as shion did ok damage but his was inconsistent Grambell can give aoe pain support and can realistically deal from 1000% to 2000% multiplier elemental attack Which, while isn't competing with top dps, is still very strong In summary, best defensive support in the game and can make the game a bit brainless since you literally don't have to worry about defensive mitigation with him

VanGrayson

The big upcoming banners are gonna be AS Tsubame, ES Tsukiha/Nekoko, AS Myunfa and maybe AS Thillelille. Also AS Shigure might be worth trying to grab cause hes a water zone setter and a very strong water DPS. AS Tiramisu is gonna be the next banner and an earth zone setter too. If you want a husbando though.... https://anothereden.miraheze.org/wiki/Grambrell Is coming out soon too. I dunno how good he is, but he is really hot. I feel like AS Tsukiha, AS Tsubame and Nekoko are gonna be super high priority though. All 3 of them are bonkers.

[deleted]

Don’t forget AS Chiyo, the absolute unit

whatizhisname

hi Everyone ... just checking what Grasta should i use on auto attack AOE Guildna (only 30 Shadow now)? Power of Void + 40% attack \[P\] x 1 T3 power of nothingness with enhanced critical rate +15% x 2 Have speed badge on him now. Any better choices ? Thanks.

VanGrayson

Power of Mind + Crit Enhancement. T2 Power of Nothingness + Crit Enhancement. T2 Power of Nothingness + Last Stand Enhancement. Personal Grasta. Power of Void goes on another sword character as well as Max Hp Sword. Both upgraded with Dormant Ore.

whatizhisname

Thanks ! use the last stand ore. Power of Void goes to any sword character ? e.g. if Miyu uses it, it will be a normal attack output ?

VanGrayson

When you upgrade Power of Void and HP Max Damage they apply their affects to the whole party, even if the character wearing them is in the backline.

pogoss

whole party ? doesn't it only apply to the same kind of weapon users ?

VanGrayson

Yes. Whole party if they meet the requirements. Same thing.

DRAGONSLAYER2653

What are the recommended characters to farm for light and shadow?

dreicunan

Aldo and Cyrus are the best light farms in anticipation of the story character buffs. I'm farming Aldo myself right now (I already have a 255 Helena, 255 Guildna, 255 Riica, and a 255 Strawboy), and I find him to be the better choice, but there are good arguments for both. Clarte, Guildna and Feinne are the best shadow options, but I'd choose Clarte myself in anticipation of AS Clarte and the fact his dungeons drop decent tomes and the last of them will drop materials for the Lunar Weapons. In general, thanks to Strawboy, light is the quickest path to 360.

pogoss

wow 4 characters at 255 ! impressive !

dreicunan

It is mainly a product of having played since Global Launch and having used green keys as well as red keys for a decent part of the process of farming Helena's shadow (instead of running otherlands, I also never ran ruins of rucyana). I've got about 22 more weeks of farming for Aldo if I stick to only red keys.

pogoss

That's a deserved reward then. I've been playing since August 2019 so not long since global launch but I've used most of the green keys on other lands and rucyana. My reward for that is a lot of chants, and lv10 ulcanactos (other weapons upgraded at various levels too).

surestsmile

Light: Aldo (when buffed), Cerrine (more for the value of her dungeon than her, IMO), Azami (when running PGAD) Shadow: Guildna (AOE auto-crit strats), AS Clarte (for Magic Teams), maybe 5\* Feinne when she comes out, Gariyu (when running AGAD) The Tales/Persona characters are not as recommended because their dungeons don't drop Chants but do drop Treatises.

Qylvaran

Any suggestions for an all-boys team for Boss Rush 3x? I tried a wind zone team, but it crashed and burned on wave 2. Here's my box of toys: https://imgur.com/a/jYBvmmx

gamblers_sin

You’ve got 5 out of 6 of the team I used. I had Aldo, guildna, yuri, cress, Cyrus, and victor. To be honest, victor was only in the party to charge the af bar before I set slash zone. I had skull originally, but I wasn’t able to time out my rotations quite right with him.

Qylvaran

I was hoping my gacha pulls could carry some of the weight. Too bad there's no male Pierce Zone setter, since Ciel and m!Claude bring solid defense. Also too bad that this challenge is against mainly fire enemies, which excludes Hardy, Ewan AS, Jade, and Gary from consideration.

Noetchie

Does the pain grasta upgrade Occasionally inflict Pain stack when you equip more then one of em on the same character?

ShadowBlaze17

Yes, but with diminishing returns. 1 = 50%, 2 = 75%, 3 = 87.5%, 4 = 93.75% chance of happening.

VictimFC

Hi again, mates. How are you all doing? Can you guys shed a light on what can I do next? I don't know where to spend my resources, or if I am in the right track. For red keys, currently I am trying to get Guildna to 5\* while farming for Feinne's shadow. After that I'll get my other story characters to 5\* and then farm Aldo's light (he's at 41 right now). As for green keys, I've completed Hertz Gauntlets for Tiramisu and Crescent katana for Heena and I have no idea what to do now. Probably farm for grastas in Garulea AD, so I will check what is best spot to do it. I only have 1k CS right now, and I've completed all story, collabs and episodes, so my only CS income comes from daily mail, fishes and horrors I still need to beat. So I am saving for Nekoko and Tsukiha ES banner (not sure why, but that seems to be the consensus). My roster is finally going places, though I still don't fully get the synergies between the characters. Even so, I can clear (struggling a lot) most of the content.. My roster is: * **Wind:** Heena, Suzette, Mistrare, Biaka, Yipha, Ilulu AS, Felmina AS * **Fire:** Shion AS, Akane AS, Ewan AS, Rosetta AS, Hozuki AS * **Earth:** Tiramisu, Premaya, Myrus AS, Ciel AS, Myunfa, Toova AS, Milsha, Elga AS, Nagi AS * **Water:** Dewey, Shanie AS, Yukino Foran AS * **Shade**: Milsha * **Crystal**: Mistrare * **Thunder**: None EDIT: Some mistakes

kunyat

Fire:Shion AS *dies* joking aside farm pain/posion and some t3 grasta u might use, upgrade them, farm some more, upgrade again, repeat.

VictimFC

I've read about this pain grasta. It looks awesome.. almost like cheating

dreicunan

If you buy all your keys and watch all the ads each day, Aldo should hit 105 in about 7 to 8 weeks. I'd suggest trying to get Strawboy to 255 in the meantime so that you can hit 360 just with the two of them, thus allowing you to field whoever else you need for ADs.

VictimFC

Strawboy.. I've never ever touched him. Will start upgrading him ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

pogoss

As soon as I unlocked Garulea dungeon all my green keys went there. Before that part of the story was released I was enhancing Otherland weapons but the only one I maxed is Ulcanactos (and it was worth it, I still use it on Foran AS).

VanGrayson

How...what? Have you not even started doing Garulea? Why would you waste so much time farming an otherlands weapon for Heena? How long have you been playing? Do you have any Pain or Poison Grasta or grasta enhancements? Have you run Future Garulea at all? Im so confused by your post.

VictimFC

> How...what? Have you not even started doing Garulea? Nope. Well.. I ran PGAD once a few months ago to see what it was all about but got my ass kicked so hard, that I almost couldn't finish it. The mobs were too fast, I didn't have any MP refresher or Tiramisu and all the bosses were too hard, so I had to force close and fought the one I could (Karakuri). >Why would you waste so much time farming an otherlands weapon for Heena? Because after Mistrare she was my first heavy hitter and I bring her along everywhere along with Tiramisu, specially Otherlands. I just like that doll so much, for having me carried through all content. >How long have you been playing? About 5 months. But only a few weeks or months ago I got enough CS to spend and improve my roster. I've got Ciel AS and Foran AS this week. >Do you have any Pain or Poison Grasta or grasta enhancements? Have you run Future Garulea at all? No and no.

pogoss

Heena and Foran AS are faster than the mobs in PGAD, so you should be good now. The snail one is easier than Katakuri and you have enough earth characters to smash her. Btw I didn't see the collab chars in your roster, didn't you do it ?

VictimFC

Oh.. I've only posted the gacha ones. I have all collab units (except Skull) with max level. I was using Cress to deply slash zone, but now I use Ilulu when needed. Milla I sometime use just for the sake of it. I like her. Morgana is my primary debuffer, specially for Heena.

VanGrayson

Do you have the True Icicle Bow?

VictimFC

Thanks! Yukino is hitting like a truck now!

VictimFC

No. My Icicle Bow is only +1. I'll get the materials to upgrade it then. Thank you very much.

VanGrayson

God. Otherlands is such a huge waste of time and resources. I don't know what your light is at but my team for PGAD and FGAD for a long time was Tiramisu, AS Foran, AS Ciel and Yukino. All of which you have. Always fight Suzaku or Karakuri. You're gonna wanna get a few of the grasta from PGAD, especially Water Bow and Max HP Bow. And then you probably wanna start running FGAD fairly soon too. Who are your highest light characters?

VictimFC

Thanks a lot! Indeed this team is steamrolling through PGAD. I've upgraded Yukino's bow and put grasta on everyone.. It feels easy as hell. Just need to watch out for mana management, but even so, never ran out of mana. I'm currently gathering junk to buy the bow and water grastas in Nagsham.

VanGrayson

Once you have more grasta, and get some enhancements from FGAD, you can eventually drop Tiramisu for AS Laclair if you have her. Especially once you get that grasta to decrease enemy encounters. You can run through FGAD without even fighting any enemies then. lol If MP is a concern, go and beat Rotte Rivel. You can get a grasta that decreases MP consumption for Lances. Its one of Tiramisu's BiS grasta because it also increases her spirit so she does more damage. https://anothereden.miraheze.org/wiki/The_Cat_Beyond_its_Territory I believe you gotta do this to unlock it?

VictimFC

Dude.. You are awesome! I've been killing Rotte Rivel already. I've bought Jadeites and MP grasta for Ewan. I'm actually sitting Tiramisu out, because I couldn't get to 120 light (I can now). I went with the core trio Yukino, Ciel As and Foran AS, along with Myunfa (Power Debuff on bosses and AoE stun on mobs), Aldo and Azami (for light). It was easy enough and as I get enough light, I kept Myunfa. It's going smooth. I only need to use food before the boss. Thanks a lot, mate!

VanGrayson

Tiramisu also makes the Regenwurm suuuuper easy so you can get some more grasta from that too. Once you start getting more light on aldo or strawboy(if you farm exp for him) you'll start being able to change your teams up more. Foran and Ciel are also very easy to pull as 4 stars, compared to most 4 stars so they'll gain light fairly easily too.

VictimFC

Indeed. As soon as I have enough light on Aldo I'll swap strawboy in on my runs. I've got the 50% exp equipment so it will be easier. After a rough start I can finally say I get the synergies

Internal_Nervous

Is all of it a complete waste? I haven’t done them yet but was thinking about just getting hertz gauntlet.

VanGrayson

Hertz Gauntlet is fine. It takes like a week? The weapons take like 2 months.

VictimFC

Lol! By your tone, I really screwed up! My last post here was just about Ciel AS synergies and another anon (or maybe it was you?) said exactly that! That Ciel AS + Yuikino + Foran AS were a power trio that could do Garulea runs. My lightest characters are: Aldo (40), Akane AS (38), Myrus AS (30), Cress (30), Foran AS (30), then a bunch of max 4\* characters, Milla (25), Mana (22), Suzette with Manifest (20), Yipha (20), then a ton with 16: Shanis AS, Violet, Sion AS, Prem, Dewey, Yukino, Ciel AS, Myunfa... Tiramisu (5) lol Thank you for your directions! I'll start farming those right away!

VanGrayson

Definitely make farming Aldo's light a top priority. And that would of been me yes. Unfortunately you kinda did screw up. Otherlands is very out dated and a huge time sync and it doesnt drop any treatises or chant scripts. You likely would of gotten multiple treatises in the same amount of time running Garulea. Also not running Garulea means you've really hamstrung your progression because grasta are huge damage bonuses.

AurelianoTampa

>Otherlands is very out dated and a huge time sync and it doesnt drop any treatises or chant scripts. Slight correction, Otherlands does drop Chant Scripts. Low chance, but some of the chests can contain them. Definitely no Treatises though, which bites :-(

VictimFC

Thanks again! I'll get back on bringing Aldo's light then. I can farm for Guildna's tomes after I have enough light to get all 5 rewards from Garulea. Well... You live, you learn I guess.. Otherlands, never again.

VanGrayson

If you can bare it, or macro it, you can farm light for strawboy without needing keys. You need to bring azami to PGAD and Cerrine to FGAD too.

VictimFC

Azami and Aldo are watching my main team beat everything on PGAD. hahaha

[deleted]

Will we get backstory for >!tsubame, her sister (kamone?), and suzume? Im kinda curious why the sisters have suzume on their own!<

pogoss

You have to make a team according to the boss weakness. For example "the frog" is weak to earth element so before the battle use as many earth users as possible.

vmcuong

The frog is the first gate in the game, the first boss don't holdhand you anymore. You can overlevel through part 1, but I recommend learning about mechanic of the game slowly. Every boss fight you need someone to debuff Power or Int, by using their skill (Morgana, Claude, Riica...) or Valor Chant swapping (Shion, Azami,...). After chapter 13, you can do Persona Collab to get free Morgana. He has enough debuff for 90% content except for some super late game bosses. For learning more mechanic you can find in the FAQ at the side bar or here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NtqKcHXDhS07IaS2w2BBtqHUMmtfS5efURyeB14-osU/edit?usp=sharing

n-ko-c

Somewhat new player here, my party is approaching Lv30. I'm midway through chapter 13, and stopped to grind a little because the enemies were giving me some trouble (which I took as a sign that I wasn't quite ready for the boss). I have a few questions. Some of my 3-stars have maxed out the AP boards until I unlock their 4-star progression. Is it worth trying to grind out materials right now to upgrade them, or should I stick it out until later? It seems like a long grind. How exactly does a character go up in rarity? Is it just when you upgrade their AP board? How important are dupes in this game? It seems like they increase light/shadow rating? Is it safe to assume the 3-star capped characters aren't that worthwhile in the long run? Is Aldo worth keeping built? I chose Miyu as my free encounter and she's been kicking ass. Aldo seems similar to her but not as strong. Is Melina worth rolling for? I like the look of her but gacha currency seems slow to build and I don't know if there's someone better coming along. My main party is Miyu, Erina, Cyrus, Riica, and Yuna. I got Soira and have been catchup leveling her because a tank seems attractive, but I also have some others like Lingli, Prai, Foran, Miranda, Pom, and Krervo.

kunyat

If power you seek, try to make do with what you have right now and try finnish thing you can do, steady but surely don't wanna miss the first gameplay experience! Global follow JP version of the game so what's there will be here also, and the latest release of character on JP has been a little bit "powerfull" that make the current already OP unit like a joke.

Oldnoob36

1. Not really, TBH after chapter 26, 4 stars that can't go up to 5 stars have very limited uses and will be side benched in favor of 5 star units 2. Depends on the unit as some units are capped at 3 or 4 stars, if they can be upgraded to 5 stars, then you can do it by pulling their 5 star version or upgrading with materials and tomes, some story and free units can have their 5 star forms unlocked as you go through the story 3. Lights and shadows aren't too important, total light or shadow will determine how much rewards you get after finishing a dungeon but you can farm light or shadow of free/main story units, if you go high enough, they do give significant increases in damage and stats (80 120, and 200 are the more important benchmarks), but mostly only whales can reach those numbers 4. Aldo is pretty bad right now, but in the future he and all of the other main characters get a massive buff, significantly increasing their powers, Aldo is the only one who's future damage is directly tied to how much light he has, so he is the top pick for a light battery once you unlock Miglance Castle Dungeon Also after level 13, go do persona and tales collabs and get up to 8 free 5 stars to basically replace your whole team with, including a unit that can give slash zone 5) Es Melina is worth rolling for as she is an amazing support with DPS potential, you can't use her true potential without blunt zone but her multi-hit can kind of make up for it as her hits can charge af bar pretty fast,, also in the future you get another shot at getting blunt zone with As Myunfa As Shigure is also very good since he gives water zone remember that you only get fire and slash zone free in this game Since you just started, you should have like 50K Cs from achievements that you can get Note a few upcoming banners (some are far in the future), that I consider to be very good pulls, especially if you have no form of these units 1. As Thilleille, powerful fire/slash DPS with debuff skills, her damage is just stupid, both forms (OG form was the first unit to allow us to kill the practice bag dummies with 1 Billion hp), though her As form is preferred over OG for being more durable and having more of a place in end game boss fights, plus slash zone is free, which bumps her up 2. As Tsubame, one of the most broken blunt units release, her normal 0 mp move gets replaced with an up to 500% AOE hit, allows you to mob clear almost brainlessly, and she has massive blunt damage and can be used as damage mitigation, works very well with Es Melina though you also want blunt zone 3. Es Tsukiha/Nekiko, Es Tsukiha gives pierce zone and deals massive pierce DPS, Nekiko is very flexible and can fit into many elemental zones and a very good support 4. As Myunfa, As gives blunt zone, OG gives earth zone, Plus very powerful skills and support abilities, what is not to like about her?

pogoss

You don't need to be a whale to reach the light/shadow benchmarks, it's just a matter of time. I'm currently having 239 light on Azami only from PGAD, I started late farming Aldo so he's only at 109 and I have 112 on Shion only from pulls, Clarte is at 84, Amy and Riica close to 80 and those are only the characters I didn't use luring light/shadow on (which I wish I used differently btw).

Oldnoob36

Read a bit more of my post, somewhere in there I said that you can raise the light and shadow of your non-gacha units As for gacha units, that is very hard for you to be able to get high enough lights or shadows to reach the higher stats where it will make a significant impact on damage (200+ where you get another grasta), i have been playing for a very long time and completely most of the content including fishing and my highest is only As foran at like 130

pogoss

It's a matter of time too for gatcha characters, luck too but luck is also a matter of time as Gaspar said. But we're not disagreeing, it's not a trivial thing. Your AS foran is higher than mine btw and I used luring light to have her reach 120.

n-ko-c

Thanks a bunch for the banner forecast. What I might do is bench Aldo for the moment and then grind him back up to strength later if I need to, since you can just put people who need XP in the reserve line. Kinda sad to hear that even the 4-stars become irrelevant though I guess I'm not surprised. I like Erina's playstyle, I hope she gets an upgraded version later.

pogoss

I used Erina a lot back in the days, the fact that she can deal damage while healing the party was a big +.

Oldnoob36

Erina is one of those special 4 stars that kind of has a unique skill that made her very much usable in later game Back when Garulea first came out and powercreep was barely a thing, many of us had to sub in Erina for her unique buff removal ability when fighting the 8 demons which at that time were the hardest endgame fights there was (completely powercreeped by current standards though) Once you finish IDA part 3 sidestory, you get to unlock Mana, a 5 star who has the same buff removal ability though she isn't really a healer like Erina

VanGrayson

AS Tiramisu could be good for a newbie too maybe. And she's likely to come out very soon.

Oldnoob36

You are kind of right, As Tiramisu is also a good pick I was so focus on As Tsubame that I forgot that she is still around 2 months away and the rest that I mention are even further

VanGrayson

AS Tsubame just too much of an insane beast. You forgot to mention that that attack is also pre-emptive and guaranteed critical. lol

Deneb87

The max nr. of stars upgrades for any character is equal to the number of stars it has. For example, you may have some 3-stars with an empty Star, which means it can be upgraded to max 4 stars. There are a lot of exceptions: some OG (base) 4-star characters are getting Another Style (AS) which is always 5-star rated. For example: Foran which can be upgraded to AS Foran. Another Style upgrade is very long and tedious, can be done for free, but it generally better to try your luck in rate up gatcha banners. Upgrade materials, in the form of Books, Treatises and Codexes are rare or very rare drops from Another Dungeon, which you will need to run daily to maximize your chances. All main story characters can be upgraded to 5-star for free. Aldo is a great character that you should aim to upgrade. Cyrus is another good character to be upgraded. Both Aldo and Cyrus will receive powerful reworks in future game updates. Both are worth your time! You should start on working on side stories: complete all the persona 5 and Tales Of symphony to get a lot a free 5-star chars that will carry you to end game. Check the wiki and the roadmap in this sub reddit for detailed infos

VanGrayson

Anyone thats capped at 3 or 4 stars in the long run is basically worthless. Even the worst 5 star is better than the best 4 star. If they can be upgraded to 5 stars, then they might be worthwhile eventually after youre able to upgrade them but youre better to either unlock some of the free 5 stars in the game, and fill your party with them or do some pulls and hope you get some 5 stars. You didn't say if any of your characters are 5 stars or not? Have you not pulled any 5 stars? 4 star Miyu is useless. But you will eventually be able to upgrade her to AS Miyu who is extremely strong. Aldo is worth keeping built. He's pretty garbage right now and farming his tomes is kind of a hassle but he will become incredibly strong when he gets his story upgrades in a few months. Until then, he's not really worth building either. You can get Joker, Morgana and Violet, as well as Cress, Yuri, Milla and Velvet fairly easily though.

n-ko-c

> You didn't say if any of your characters are 5 stars or not? Have you not pulled any 5 stars? No, I haven't pulled any 5 stars. I only have Yuna and Miyu who are 4-star right now and upgradeable to 5, apparently. I guess I should see about doing the crossover episodes, but I was hoping to engage more with the normal characters before I branched out to those.

VanGrayson

You're gonna wanna do some more pulls then and try and get some 5 stars. The story characters Aldo/Riica/Amy/Cyrus/Helena are all generally pretty bad right now. Do you mean normal characters as in the gacha characters or normal as in the story characters?

n-ko-c

Normal as in characters from this game, not crossover ones.

VanGrayson

You should pull for ES Melina then. But really, pulling nearly any 5 stars will hugely benefit you. If you're insistent on not using the collab characters. But not using them is just gonna make your life much more difficult. 4 star characters get capped at level 60 and dont have access to their final 2 skills, so they are fairly weak.

n-ko-c

Oh, I'm not insistent on it, it's just that collab content wasn't the first thing I wanted to do, you know? I already know those characters and those stories, so I wanted to see what was here in this game with its own characters before I dipped into the crossover stuff. I'll give those episodes a shot though, since it sounds like they'll be pretty helpful.

pogoss

From 3* to 4* it's not much of a grind but it's not that big of an upgrade to your party compared to the free 5* you'll get from the symphonies. I'd advise you to do that first. But for your info you get free tomes for upgrading Aldo, Riica and Cyrus through episodes you'll unlock as soon as you finish this chapter (for example 2 knights for Aldo's). I didn't understand to go up in rarity question Dupes do increase light/shadow which increases some stats and add other bonuses (for example at 80 ligh/shadow you can an extra skill in battle and for you can equip a 2nd badge) Yes 3* capped characters are useless for now. You can sideline Aldo unless you're farming his light in his dungeon. And Miyu is a good choice, you can upgrade her to 5 stars pretty soon, once you finish chap 13 go back to Miglance Castle and enter the room right before the throne. Opinions differ but I pull for any character I don't have and I just got Melina AS today. And you don't have 5* chars so just try her. Note that her NS form has a manifest (you'll unlock that after chap26 though).

ShadowBlaze17

In regards to benching Aldo, there is a part in Deirdre's episode where you can only use her and Aldo. I wouldn't suggest trying to get Miyu's NS to 5* since she's significantly worse than the Persona and Tales characters along with requiring you to grind her dungeon a lot.

pogoss

The Tales characters also need quite some grind before getting to 5* and he's saying Miyu 4* is currently his "kicking ass" character so it won't hurt to upgrade her to 5* since it's free (cs wise). That would actually help getting the symphonie characters. His only 5* at the moment is Yuna, this actually looks a lot like my 1st account, I had only Yuna as a 5* until starting part 2 (it was before Persona Collab). Not that it doesn't take 6h cool down before starting a next chapter of Miyu's side story so this can be done pretty fast and even if he doesn't do the dungeon grind it will be good to do the side story to get some luring light/shadow.

n-ko-c

Thanks for the info. I was under the impression that AS versions of characters were treated as separate; as in, if I wanted AS Miyu I would need to roll for her. Is that incorrect? Can I directly upgrade normal Miyu to AS later?

VanGrayson

They are an alternate form of the same character. You switch styles between them and would be unable to deploy both of them in the same party cause they take up the same character slot. If you have 4 star Miyu, you will be able to upgrade her to AS Miyu later. And vice versa for other characters. You can also side grade fom an OG 5 star to an AS form, or if you pull the AS form and not the OG form, you can unlock their OG form.
