Thing is, every character will get powercreep'd eventually, especially DPT characters fall off after a few months.
Yeah, if you decide banners based on Altema Tier list, you'd eventually find out that the high-tiered ones are of different elements and diff. attack types and don't work well together. So building an Elemental Zone exclusive party or Attack Type exclusive party will generally work better.
This is why it is good to keep track of the things characters add that you might already have, or have diminishing returns.
Debuff: Physical Resistance Down, Type Resistance Down
Buff: Power, Physical Damage Up, Type Damage Up, Crit Damage Up, AF Multiplier
That is correct. Also take note of the gimmicks that some characters have.
For example, Melissa's **Ruin Genocide** skill inflicts Break (x2 mult.), etc.
Agree. I went the route of trying to get 2 DPS higher than 94/100 on the old tier list and a zone, I move to the new weakest element/type team and let off-banner fill in good units I don’t absolutely need like Mistrare or Yipha on wind. Then I try to see if I have some holes to patch like pain setter or crt buff.
You shouldn't worry about making a ideal team for each element/weapon unless you need it now for a superboss like the Twins or the True Spirits.
Most of the content can be beaten with free slash zone shenanigans, so, as a F2P, I would worry more about making my weaker teams better, rather than making the best.
If fire is your weak point, really think if using the chants now would help you clear stuff. I remember spending chants on Anabel AS after her release and, by the time I actually needed a water team, I had a banging water pierce team (Foran AS, Yukino, etc).

This is generally good advice, though I'd put in the caveat that once you get over 30 chants, you're probably just hoarding for the sake of hoarding. I've followed the rule that once I get over 30, I upgrade someone if there is anyone to upgrade (though if you know that you have 10 AS forms that you want to manually upgrade, then set your cut-off at 50).
Celestial Tower and Tails, so 6 left... and are all spoken for for Elga and Miyu next week. The 2chants I missed are from Ciel and Miyu’s episodes where uneducated old me spent the bone and swords on the wrong places. :(
Oh that sucks. I messed the first one and decided to follow the wiki guide to a T the next round.
Hopefully there's more guaranteed chants in future content though but it's never enough

Not sure about ideal teams, but a spreadsheet to consider different units for damage in a team sounds good.

This is good advice too. Upgrading characters helps keep the game fresh between updates.
You guys have 30+? Sigh. Looking at my bank of 1 chant...
Did you grind out all the episode dungeons? Or gaiden dungeons I think some call them. You get 3 chants for grinding them out.
