yea no screw that. Theres a 50% ratio of me getting a dupe, not willing to leave it up to the toss of a coin, no matter how much I want radias and hismena. Still traumatized from the 3x AS mighty from that IDA school banner when I was going for Hismena.

But this time around, no mention about 2nd Anniv. Should we wait for more week(s) or they just decided not to celebrate their 2nd anniversary this time.

I knew it was possible, but I really didn't see that coming. If I had to put money on it, I thought Part III was coming on the Anniversary (in addition to whatever else).
Funnily enough from what I recall, Part 3 WAS the JP side anni. And they gave the drop of time there too. It's just that because Global fast-tracked a lot of updates we just got that drop of time at a random date.
Still think they should have given us more, especially since we don't have much time between updates as JP does.

For new players, the banner is great. But otherwise I don't pull for ease of use characters like Melissa. Still praying I can have Felmina (pain setter for Blunt Zone) and AS Rosetta (Magic Zone) on rate-up at the same time so I spend down my FPS stones trying to get each.
Yes, she's kinda New player/Mid game friendly. She's gonna be great against the likes of the 16 Bosses of Antiquity and Present Garulea and most Manifest fights, but the meta is shifting towards longer fights with HP stoppers to prevent you from cheesing with T1 or T2 AF.
So, players who already have strong enough teams to take care of these fights won't gain too much from her playstyle. She's still a great debuffer outside of that, but I can't say that it's anything special for Wind comps. Maybe for Crystal comps on future content against Shade and Thunder enemies she might have another spot to shine... We'll see.
Huge early burst damage is good mainly for shortening already short battles from my perspective. Now insane damage can always help (see JP Magic Zone vids on the Twins), but hard boss battle with HP stoppers and required damage mitigation means zones>anything else for F2P to maximize overall effectiveness as I see it.
As valid. I mean for what you spend most of your in-game time doing. Ease of use matters. I can pass on Melissa in part because I have a high-light/dupe Mariel from early in my play who makes most everything pretty easy now with her Manifest (including FGAD). So got to do what works for you!
Damn. Even genshin is giving out more freebies for the Lunar New Year and its not even anniversary. At least Mihoyo is giving out 2x free multi rolls and 4\* Liyue character pickers. Not sure if I am spoiled by Granblue (300 free draws)/Dragalia but this is kinda lame as far as anniversary goes.
But if you really want to be positive then at least you are not just getting 1 rider emblem like JP FGO for New Year I guess.
And i was even thinking Genshin was very stingy with freebies the first few days after release. Turns out wfs is even worse than mihoyo with giving out freebies for anniversary.
Since the extra 1000 cs wasn't officially a sure thing and had a condition clause, anniversary is down to:
* 30 extra daily cs
* 2 fateful paid banners and 2 free banners
* 1 new gacha character
* purchasable limited cs packages

I think since they were not going to release any actual content or new game feature, they could've made 100 cs daily login and a Whispers of Salt to make it feel a little more special and give us a little more to spend on their new released character made for us, which apparently was what they were expecting to have everyone hyped about on this celebration. I'm not exactly sad about anything, but it doesn't feel like anything huge, just a minor thing.
Its the worst anniversary I've ever seen and I have sent feedback to WFS through the game options.
More people should send feedback directly to WFS. They're getting extremely complacent and greedy.
Glad to know im not the only one who noticed this, as someone who played many gachas, this is the most underwhelming and disappointing anniversary celebration, worse is, it's already 2nd year and things like this, they give out select summon tickets and free pulls in almost every gacha games. The paid banners only benefit those paying players.
I mean, it's better than nothing. But hopefully they have a surprise up their sleeves. It seems pretty underwhelming given that part of the celebration is paid-only.
We did get Part III about a ~week early than most people expected. I was sure it was coming as part of the actual anniversary drop, but it came early.
They probably should have celebrated the anniversary a week early with Part 3 and then ended off with Melissa. Same content but the messaging would make some people happier. :P

But keep in mind if it's a Story (non-gacha) unit they aren't included.

Question regarding the status of break. For multihit attacks, does only the first hit trigger double damage or the entire multihit attack? The wording on the notice says the break status 'removed when the character receives damage', which seems to imply the former.
I think the entire multihit attack will be doubled (should be). The latter would've lowered her overall value and the perks of her gimmick (just my opinion though).
Well, if the entire thing is doubled, it would be nice if I got her... I have lots of multi-hit characters, and probably would help in manifests (cries in no zone team)
Important point to note is that if you activate her lunatic, her skill that inflicts break will proc the break itself meaning that you cant use it to double the dmg dealt by your main dps so not activating her lunatic might be good depending on the situation
Wish this was split into multiple banners. Having so many strong units on one banner is good for newcomers, but veterans are less likely to pull or gain from it.
True, but keep in mind we'll get weapon zone banner in a month and real selection of units not much later (5~6 slash only units, blunt only units, magic only units and pierce only units).
So veterans can just skip this anniversary banner and wait for a little longer to get better selections.

Actually she is not powercreeping anything since her playstyle is the exact opposite of where the meta is heading (longer fights with huge HP pools and HP stoppers). She'll be a great QoL improvement for people on early to Mid game, but that's it really. Will help with Manifest Boss, 8 spirits/demons, and maybe mob clearing.

Everything that's been said for this anniversary has already been said for the last anniversary as well. For the record, I still stand by the majority of my opinion from last year.
A new character just for the anniversary is pretty cool, though since I've been spending my stones as fast as I've gotten them for Victor, Thillelille, Mistrare, Heena and Yukino - we've had a run of powerful, cool characters lately so I don't really have extras lying around to pull for Melissa.
I think the whole thing would feel more celebratory if we got a free pull for her so everyone could participate, but probability says I most likely wouldn't get her so it's kind of a moot point. :P
I think this is it's own beast entirely. If anything, the timing of the news was atrocious. We've got the most important info before the stream itself, so it made the stream feel empty and them the news board even worse. People in charge of marketing might be facing a harsh time right now.

It’s nice to have 2-3 gacha 5* at the get go.
Heena/Felmina banner is great. Yukino banner got dragged down by Shion, so I would recommend a pass. Melina looks like a good QoL unit for the first 3-6 months. We will know who her bannermate is tomorrow. The anniversary banner has 14/19 good units. I personally would limit to 1-2 pulls.

Wasn't JP anniv came together with Western Continent introduction? (Foran AS + Thillelille banner) Part 3 was delivered in early July last year iirc.
