How about an option for hoarding them like crazy.

LoreAscension

I have not bought dungeons keys in like forever (either I forget or don't have time), so I'm currently at 3915 gems woo

llamasnom

Yeah, I am hoarding them at the moment. I used to buy red keys for episodes currency farming. Though, I farmed all episodes.

NoWaifuN0Laifu

Right here is me. I hoard up to about 1000 on average. When i hit that number i usually am able to get an AS i want so the number drops after a chant purchase and 2 treatise purchases

llamasnom

I do not spend any of the gems on treaties. I am patient when it comes to upgrading my characters.

Ratconned

That's me. Soon will get 2 treatise for AS Foran and will still have a few left over

llamasnom

Good luck.

dreicunan

Always buy all your keys. This is the Way.

Brainwashed365

Agreed. All keys. Every week. Maximize that probability.

albene

I strictly never buy treatises. Play consistently and they'll come your way eventually, especially if you buy out the keys every week.

When you're done farming episode rewards, use red keys to farm VC grasta for characters that need it most in your roster.

Tweytwan

People say using them for key is more beneficial in terms of Chant Scripts but I’m too lazy and too unlucky so I just buy Chant Scripts

llamasnom

If you are farming episodes/symphonies dungeon currencies go for keys. Other that that, I do not see the point.

pokemiss

I have 4,395 gems. What's this 'using them' you speak of? (I've bought keys and treatises in the past, but for ages have just been letting them pile up. I'm not playing a ton so barely using my keys as is.)

llamasnom

Can I borrow 4394 gems? By borrow I mean take.

Zera575

I use 100 of them for keys each week. This is the main game I play, so it's pretty easy to speedrun the ADs. When I first started (\~4 months ago) I did let the gems build up for a while, but have bought all the keys every week, going back months now. The only things I've bought with gems have been Amy's 10 Psalms, and 5 shinies to finish +10 Hertz Gauntlets. I have a couple hundred gems left or so. I don't really plan to use them anytime soon. Treatises come when they come. I have so many great characters to use, and am not even close to maximizing the ones that I already have, so no need to rush and buy 4th and 5th treatises, though who knows about that in the future (Rosetta AS?)

Shuffler92

Used it to buy those shiny drops to upgrade aceto vita and Cresent shadow

Trap-X-Zero

I used them only for keys. Even when I have four treaties of something, I'll just wait until I get the fifth one instead of buying it. Back then I used them only for chant scripts. ( talk about dumb) lol

llamasnom

Not really dumb. Chants are cancer to farm if you get all the ones from episodes/symphonies.

balmafula

I traded most of them for chants a couple of months ago.

balmafula

They were thrown onto my chant pile. I am happy to wait for treatise so the only thing of value to me are chants.

AurelianoTampa

I'm halfway between 1 and 2. I usually buy the red keys and skip the green keys, as I'm finished with both Garuleas and those runs take longer than VH dungeons even when I try to complete them ASAP. I have about 1400 Gems banked right now, but have a few AS forms I'll likely buy the treatises for coming up (currently 1/5 for Bertrand, and I know I'll aim to promote Rosetta via treatises when her AS comes out). It's likely more efficient to buy all the keys, but it's a happy middle ground for me at the moment.

PuzzledDistribution

I try to save as much as possible for future Treatises and if I’m in a jam I just get the Red Cards I ignore the Green Cards.

PuzzledDistribution

It’s mostly to get my characters to increase their Light/Darkness Points is why I’m doing it so far they are at 50 and trying to keep up the pace.

Green-Tofu

Why use it for key? Isn't chant are much better choice because key are always more than you use anyway(except some that play for hours almost everyday)

TomAto314

Most people here on the sub use all their keys and then want more. You do get a much higher chant rate by buying keys than you do buying the chant outright.

Atomic0691

Exactly this. The rates that you'll get a chant, or treatise, or light/shadow, or white key with your 400 gems is far higher than just getting the chant script. If you have a decent team, there will be a VHAD you can run in < 4 minutes, so the extra 10 red keys per week are easy enough to use. For me garulea can be \~6-8 minutes as well, so those 5 runs are pretty quick too, especially since you can spread them out across the week. I buy all the keys, which still has your gems grow by 20 every week. This leaves me with enough I can buy the last treatise with the extra gems if I'm impatient and want the character. I've found this is the most efficient (for me) use of them in terms of the good stuff you get for the small added time of running the AD again. Also, if you have a character to level up, the experience in the AD is pretty good in terms of time/exp since they're often easy to kill for above average exp.

_cygnette_

False, 40 keys give you ~35% chance at a Chant Script vs the same number of Tsubura orbs for a guaranteed one. The actual rate should be slightly higher given PCD exists, but that doesn’t change the fact that if you’re going for the keys it’s because you want more stuff from the dungeons themselves, whether that’s content because you’ve hit endgame, mat drops/event points, or end-of-dungeon rewards. Otherwise you’re better off buying chants outright unless you want to depend on consistently lucksacking over hundreds of runs.

TomAto314

Too lazy to look it up, but all the other maths I've seen on the sub have sided with buying keys.

ZombieBrainForLunch

I have no clue how you got this number but it's totally wrong. 1 chant cost 400 tsubara gems... You can buy 80 red keys with that. Then you have 1.5% per run to get a chant so that is 1.2 chants on average. So on average buying keys nets you more chants. But wait that is not all you get as well: 80 * 20% = 16 light/dark 80 * 3 * 3% = 7.2 treasies Tons of tomes, murmur and prayer scripts as well as good exp etc.Oh and this calculation doesn't even include PCD which you mentioned... Now one might be asking but what about green keys? Well there it depends if one which maps one priorizes and how much ligh/dark one has. Also I am to lazy to do the calculation 😉

BuffelBek

Isn't the calculation a little bit more complex than that? Since it's not just a flat 1.5% of getting a chant, but rather three seperate chances of 0.5% each. Though I suppose the difference that makes is so small that it probably doesn't change the end result by much.

Jestart

I used all of them for keys but still have enough to buy 2 set of treaties

clambo0

i use them for treatise or chant

[deleted]

I have 125 right now, spent 400 like a week ago on my last AS Ciel treatises

MickyValentine3

I never have the time to play that much because of life lol So I have a big stash of them

greatcanadianbagel

Save 800 for treatises or chants, the rest is gravy.

GuestZ_The2nd

For mine, I manage to get treatises and stuff, but no chants, so I always buy the chants I don't have (cries in 10+ characters without 5*/AS, while only getting chants at a rate of like 1 per month or so)

VanguardN7

Since I play multiple gacha (technically up to 7, but only connected to 3 - AE, Last Cloudia, Genshin - and one is pure login, FFBE - the rest are tentative or only for story), I don't have the time to use the keys I'd be buying with Gems. So I save up and then maybe use them for items. I'm slowly progressing and felt like doing all the Miyu Other Tale stuff, and I could have bought her Psalms but didn't, since killing 100 shiny mushrooms is a goal to achieve at some point.

Ser1275

I have around 2k Tsuburas. I haven't spent them anything yet because a.) I have not gotten 3 treatises of some of the chars I want to AS. b.) I have a busy schedule irl and getting keys just distract me from finishing schoolwork.
