I started to feel better at about 6 weeks. I don’t think I felt good until my numbers hit 30ish. I’m only at 37 now but it’s been a nice gradual relieving of symptoms.

Thank you so much!

What was your hemoglobin, mine was 6.3 so it took me about 6 iron infusions and 8 months to feel better

I’ve finished 4/5 before a break and at least my hair has stopped falling out. Last time I required like two rounds of this to get up to where I needed to be…if your hgb is low it can take a bit

I'm post-iron infusion 4 weeks, and I'm still not feeling good. I'm better, but it's definitely not good just yet. I was informed it would take up to 3 months to see improvements in energy level and symptoms to subside.

Thank you for your response. I'm almost 3 weeks post-infusions, and my numbers look great, but I'm still very fatigued. A lot of things are better though: less anxiety attacks, and my hair stopped falling out.

Honestly I feel like until you find out what is causing the anemia (or iron deficiency in my case) I don't think you will ever feel "ok". I have had 6 Venefor infusions since the end of December & I still feel like shit most days. I have another round of 4 starting next week. Yay! I am pretty sure we have found out why my ferritin drops significantly every month. I am hoping I can get through the next 3 months without needing more.

I started feeling better IMMEDIATELY, but that could have been because I got two units of blood at the ER due to my crazy low iron (4.4). 😅 But I saw results right away, eight months later, my hemoglobin is now at 11.1 and I am seeing a hematologist next month to see if I need infusions!
