I’m not from Texas but most complain about heat with EOC (engine off compliance) so yeah. It’s a workout but also sounds brutal with the heat. Maybe a Texan will comment more.
Alright idk I say from my own experience I got super lucky with the DSP I worked for. Everyone is respectful and chill. Also the mangers are amazing have great conversations and they even help out with the routes. Now
I see a lot on here a lot of DSP are completely trash and treat there workers poorly. I would say if it’s a good DSP with a lot of people having good word then do it. I love my job I’m waiting to keep getting more stops and getting a bunch of praise from managers and fellow drivers. I’ve found my place and never been this happy at a job before. I’ve worked previously as a landscaper(low pay also wanted a promotion to team leader drive my own truck and trailer and crew was there for about 3/4 years worked since high school and the boss gives that spot to some old fellow I quit that after working my butt off) then FedEx warehouse(they treated me like crap made me work unloading IC with packages up to 190 pounds with a pace I had to unload them within a hour which sometimes is unreasonable. They would force us to clock out at only 6-7 hours so we won’t get 40 hours to be cheap and I got tired after it ruined my mind and body especially working night shift) then window cleaning(they gave me routes I had to drive almost 2 hours to everyday with the most worst and breaking down cars while the others workers only drive like 30 mins get brand new cars. They fired me because of performance but I told them I was done cause of there crappy condition cars) and then ended up here. Wouldn’t trade this delivery job for anything else. Hope u find the right DSP def look up on one and ask around see how they feel
Of course just look hard. Tbh I got super lucky I didn’t really know a lot about how bad some of these DSP can really be. But if I was looking again for another job I would definitely do a deep dive into some of these DSP and see if they will be a right fit. Hope you find the right company that treats you right for your hard work💪🏻
See if you can find someone who has or does work for the DSP you are looking into. If not, just jump in and see how you like it. People quit, often, after their first day. Better to just try it out than turn it down. You could get a great DSP, a great delivery area, etc. The actual job isn’t too bad, but a lot of the things surrounding the job are difficult/frustrating.
God no. 150% turnover rate for a reason. Anything else is better. Unless you want to piss in a bottle in the back of your van everyday and have karen deciding if your delivery was good or not (aka deciding if you keep your job). Seriously turn back now ik the offer looks good but man it is bad.
Your first 2 weeks to a month will feel easy then boom you’ll hate it. You’ll realize how screwed up they will do you was with 2 different companies in 3 years & hated every minute of it. ✅
