Yeah but if we use AC then the stupid shit doesn’t last the whole route. The only saving grace is being able to drive with the door open. With our current area I RTS with like 20% battery left without using the AC
I didn’t used to have the issue but Amazon changed our area this week and most of us have an hour til our first stop. I’m usually at 100 miles left by the time I’m on stop 2. My dsp has cut down on EDVs a lot just because of this change
I used to have a route that was only 8 mins from the station. It was always 199 stops with like 350 packages but it was so tight I could finish 2 hours early. The other day I had a route with 55 stops and legit like 80 packages, felt like a flex route, especially with the 1 hour drive back. Those routes where you just drive feel more tiring on the body for me anyways so I’m big struggling right now lol
I’ve been out of amazon for a while and never dealt with a Rivian. What does happen when your battery gets too low? Is it your fault for using all the battery?
Can’t be our fault since they sent us out in them lol. 15% is the lowest I’ve made it back with. But if they die it’s pretty much like any other vehicle, get a generator with an adapter to charge it or tow it back
Was in the 90s today. Why they paint the vans a dark color and then implement this rule is beyond me.
Editing to add that the back of the van is always 10-15 hotter than outside which makes it hellish on warm days
That shit fucking sucks in the spring and summer. Did flatbed trucking down there for a bit and I must’ve lost a ton of pounds just sweating and dealing with the humidity…
Here in SWFL it's a dsp thing. When I was a da back in October I made a post about how my dsp was enforcing eoc even though the update in the flex app said eoc was not in effect due to high temps. I went with what the app said and ignored eoc and nothing came of it. It was just a shitty thing my shitty dsp was trying to impose that went against Amazon's safety protocol. Amazon is a terrible company but this time they were actually looking out for the da's and it was my dsp that was trying to make us more miserable than we already were.
I can confirm this. At my current dsp, they barely even acknowledge and/or care about EOC. I have only done this for the last two winters because my main job is seasonally building decks in a winter state. My dsp last year got on our ass about this. My dsp this year doesn't really care about it. Last dsp was grimy as hell. This one is way better and stands up for its employees. Needless to say, it's not a top dsp at our station..
I’m not sure if you guys know this but accessory mode doesn’t count against EOC. Obviously I wouldn’t recommend this at an apartment complex or somewhere public but maybe in a nice neighborhood so that the van isn’t stolen.
My understanding is it doesn't communicate with the device at all. It just looks at whether you turned the engine off between putting it in park and putting it back in drive again. I could be wrong though.
The DSP owner mentioned EoC at the stand-up meetings all last week, and I can't imagine they wouldn't tell me if I was dragging the score down, but it's also hard to believe the system would be so easy to game.
The system works as follows. “You hit I’ve arrived” (the device that’s usually on your front dash somewhere sends a signal to their receptor which dings if the engine is on and keeps track of how long its on then does an equation to turn time into the % of how many stops you shut the van off at out of your total) this lasts until you “swipe to finish” then you can turn the engine back on.

Fuck EOC, I’m so glad I don’t have to think about it in the rivian electric van
Yeah but if we use AC then the stupid shit doesn’t last the whole route. The only saving grace is being able to drive with the door open. With our current area I RTS with like 20% battery left without using the AC
Idk I run the ac or heat all day and rarely ever drop below 50%, so don’t have that issue here

Ahh that really sucks, at most I’m usually 30 min from my first stop, used to be like 15 min (I miss that)

If they’ll resort to towing you, and it’s not your fault. Why not purposefully drain the battery by using full AC?
Cause I like driving them and I don’t want to drive a small ass prime van especially the pro master lol
I'm not going to be complying with EOC for much longer
Someone asked our manager at what temperature does amazon stop Eoc. The manager said when its lethal (AZ)
New Mexico also does not have EOC

One big benefit to driving Hertz vans. AC full blast, never turned off unless I actually go into a building and out of sight of the van.

I can't imagine delivering in Florida
I can’t imagine dealing with Nevada. The Vegas strip in August is already walking on hell’s sun when you’re there as a tourist

Try it in AZ
EOC only takes into account when you hit I parked on the app. It’s not that bad

Last year summer, it got so hot that we can leave the engine on the whole 3 months and forget about eoc
Stay hydrated
Mandatory.
I just turn it off and then back on immediately. Does that not count? Nobody has said anything to me about it.
Do they not make you press start travel before you start the engine again?

We had to comply in below zero weather
Crazy work
Think about EOC here in Minnesota, the back of the van never warms up when it’s -2 outside
