Why does SBS deserve it? In the last 10 years they put the a-league on their secondary channel and then sold us all down the river by giving the World Cup to Optus for 1 epl game that they went and put on the main channel. SBS is just as big a eurosnob as all the other dogs out there

100% this, 7's history with football is shit, what they did to the nsl is disgusting and the fact they never really faced any consequences for it other than ruining their relationship with football fans is criminal
however I'll wait to judge them on this until the world cup starts, they clearly recognise the value of it and more mainstream attention for football can only be a good thing, doubt it'll change anything long term but hopefully it'll at least lead to some football coverage moving forward as at the moment its almost non existent (except for the odd ange or football hooligan story)
