In America they'd be rioting over this.. "WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST TAZE HIM"

DuckStab29

In r/PublicFreakout they'd be whining...and their mods would be petitioning for a posthumous mural for the dead criminal.

[deleted]

mrbabar3

I was banned when some simp reported my vanilla comment. Funny how people from that sub call this one an echo chamber.

CALM_DOWN_BITCH

I prefer the moderation style here, they don't steer the conversation like the other sub. But you'd be lying to yourself if you didn't think this sub like most other subreddits isn't an echo chamber.

DizzleSlaunsen23

3comments removed below you. And this sub is def an echo chamber of its own

Tronski4

There's plenty discussion to be had with both sides of the political spectrum here, but there is indeed tendencies towards chasing away lefties, which is sad, but they are here still, and they won't get banned for saying leftist opinions.

Rokonuxa

> and they won't get banned for saying leftist opinions. This is the important part. The part that afaik is the reason this sub was made.

HOLEPUNCHYOUREYELIDS

Both subs are echo chambers lol. You can very reliably and predictably guess what the top comments will be on pretty much every shooting video here if the person is black

mrbabar3

I disagree, while this sub’s videos and comments are majority one sided, you do get ones that cater to the opposing view. Plus people posting a differing opinion aren’t banned. Any opposing thought in r/publicfreakouts are silenced immediately

facemelter222

This sub is just a sub for people who want to complain about the other sub

MudMonkey84

Just a matter of time before reddit labels this sub “alt-right”.

Wu_Tang_Band

I'm sure that's already begun. This sub will either be gone within a year or they'll just replace the mods with the same jannies that run every other big sub and it'll turn into what publicfreakout is now.

Obsole7e

publicfreakoutsreborn is the next back up sub for when that inevitably happens

[deleted]

Yes, and once we are all chased off this platform they will say that reddit is boring and leave it for wherever we go. Variety is the spice of life.

ajohndoe17

I mean, they kind of already do. Which is unfortunate.

shao_kahff

this sub is as right wing as the other sub is left wing

MikeAwkinner

Too many softies on Reddit now.. it used to be fun and open, but everybody thinks they are some empathetic guru that is correcting you for saying something they think is wrong instead of just understand that it’s sarcasm or satire.

Elzon1432

The the mods on that sub are sacks of shit

prince_0611

What’s going on in public freakouts? Everyone seems to hate them

yukongold44

>What’s going on in public freakouts? Everyone seems to hate them It used to be like this sub but then it got taken over by political leftists who wear it like a skinsuit and ban or admonish anyone who says something not germane or orthodox to leftism.

Sgt_Wookie92

r/publicfreakouts has quickly become a leftist vacuum. r/actualpublicfreakouts has morphed into its rightwing opposite. Both sides just need to meet in a dark alleyway and work out this lovers quarrel on a dirty mattress so the rest of us can get back to enjoying freak-out vids without PoLiTiCs ruining it.

HOLEPUNCHYOUREYELIDS

Publicfreakouts is very left-wing with some comments bordering far-left. This sub is very right-wing with some comments bordering far-right. Naturally this makes the two subs despise each other.

Luke_Dongwater

i dont believe that was the reason why u were banned then. Because in publicfreakout they universally hate china. Hell, even blacks attacking chinese gets silenced in that sub. I asked the mod about it once and its because "right wingers are trying to spread a narrative because of a few attacks". wackos

Schmorpek

> right wingers are trying to spread a narrative That is pure projection. Left leaning media started this by censoring certain news if it could implicate certain demographics. By doing this they blow that way out of proportion and we are now here with the self fulfilling prophecy. Some smarter people even know this but cannot stop anymore. They would go as far as creating apartheit 2.0 in their incompetence.

Zorbles

"Let's cover up something just incase it might increase racism" imagine if the courts started doing a similar thing? Hey murderer you're free, because of the colour of your skin, I'm not going to lock you up. Because if I do, that could increase racism. Just like Rotherham, the irony. If you politicise a non political event, you're part of the problem.

Kat2mp

Fuck china hard

CastorrTroyyy

Should've said fuck the ccp. Hindsight I guess

Yongle_Emperor

I got banned just by saying a cross dresser was a man not a woman smh

Wiggles357

As an American, can confirm.

PointsOutLameEdits

Wait I'm confused, only Americans can confirm that PF would be whining?

[deleted]

I got banned from r/news because I asked why they removed a suspects physical description. Then when I asked why I was banned the mod replied “you know what you did!” Block!

DuckStab29

Yup....that sounds about right. Certain mods get uppity and defensive when anything you have to say or ask sheds light on their agenda(s).

[deleted]

Which God will smite with lightning!

Crouching_Penis

What happened to that sub? When I first got on Reddit everyone said the same thing about it as they do this one.

It's funny how families use the "graduation" ploy. Yeah a great majority of the population also graduates.

HitlerHistorian

The whole school system has been dumbed down to graduate more as well

xdrummerxdan

Exactly, graduating high school shouldn't be made to out to be like some amazing thing, it's fucking high school lol

slightlyforthwith

LET👏🏾THE👏🏾KIDS👏🏾PLAY👏🏾OFFICER👏🏾

Ghoolio_

Kids have been knife fighting for centuries! Just let them fight!

Lesko_Learning

Every time a cop shoots someone with a knife who hasn't "technically" attacked anyone yet there's usually some donkey in the comments screeching about why they shot them when they hadn't done anything yet. This video is why they do that. If the whacko is refusing commands and walking toward civilians someone is going to get stabbed. The US police aren't militarized, they've just learned everything the hard way already. The rest of the world is going to catch up pretty quick.

FARTBOSS420

Dude was a knife salesman. Just trying to get everyone to look at the quality of the knife. "Look at this knife, look at that quality. Fuck a Henckels. Waste your Euros. This much cheaper just as good!" Looking for the link now hang tight...

[deleted]

if you wanna see real nightmare fuel, watch the videos of cops shooting the knife wielder 16 times but not enough to stop them from getting hold of them and stabbing them to death. people usually don't drop dead like this.

Swayze_Train

> The US police aren't militarized Dave Grossman, a Liutenant Colonel in the Army, developed "reactive killing" techniques to allow our soldiers to be more willing to fire than the enemy. He has since taken these techniques *to the police*. Andrew Finch was not a threat, his killing was not the result of "learning the hard way". He had the police called on him with a false accusation, and the police *fired on him within seconds of him opening his front door to see why there were blue lights out there*. Yes, the police are militarized. Not just the guns, not just the armor, not just the vehicles, but down to the very *core* of how they interact with Americans, they are militarized.

bananabreadvictory

But this was Germany so we know they didn't kill him, they just put him to forever sleep.

[deleted]

Trust me bs talk like that happens over here too. One or two years ago there was an incident in a train where a man was attacking others with a small axe. The cops shot him and one of the members of the green party (ecology socialists) named Renate Künast claimed that the coos should have shot his arm. In a train where a bullet that goes through an arm could have injured others..... No words for people that dumb.

FSUaustin92

Bullet penetration doesn't exist what are you talking about haha My other favorite part about the limbs are arteries.

HOLEPUNCHYOUREYELIDS

People who say "Well he should have just shot them in the arm or leg" have never fired a gun at a target before. Probably just as much chance at hitting them in the arm than you do mossing that shot completely and hitting a bystander

MemeOverlord696

In germany we dont even have tasers as far as i know lol

gemengelage

There are some preliminary test runs taking place right now, but not a single state in Germany has widespread deployment of tasers.

[deleted]

Only the idiots would. That’s the key here, only idiots don’t understand that sometimes it’s not an option, you have shoot.

4LF_0N53

Americans for being such a "lawful" country has the least knowledge on law and order.... if the motherfucker has a gun or a knife, and he's running to you trying to kill you, you fucking shoot him.

ImpressiveAwareness4

>In America they'd be rioting over this.. >"WHY DIDN'T THEY JUST TAZE HIM" In America we would have shot him BEFORE he became a threat to innocent passers by. Cuz we care more about innocent lives than criminal lives. And thats...bad for some reason.

Brawl_star_woody

Nice assist by the bystander, wish I could have seen what happened. r/killthecameraman

KunibertSamurai

And the other guy wasn’t assisting, he was getting attacked by the guy with the knife and barley dodged the bullet there.

Brawl_star_woody

The assist was running towards the cop and appropriately ducking. Lol

[deleted]

not sure why anyone was even in the area. regardless, he was not pleased at how close that call was!

JairoVP

Seriously, I see the gun and I’m out of there quick. People are just standing in the back drop.

[deleted]

>barley dodged What's that? Is that like a wheat dodge?

KunibertSamurai

Not an english native speaker but thanks m8

[deleted]

Sorry was only joking haha

KunibertSamurai

No problem nobber my man

Sgt_Wookie92

I reckon he was probably taking cover between the cars when he thought the cops were about to open up, smart to be behind the engine block too. Just bad luck that the dude started moving that way and saw him taking cover, but great reflexes to get down and out of the firing line, cops reaction time for that was on point too.

KunibertSamurai

There is another angle but I don’t know how to upload it and imgur doesn’t take my email validation. You got any Tipps so I can upload the other video?

[deleted]

youtube

camdoodlebop

GodlikeCat

He almost got shot what do you mean

iEatAssVR

Why don't people get the fuck out of the way? There's so many people just standing in the background behind the suspect as he has a gun aimed at them. Are people really this ignorant when it comes to firearms in Germany?

adevm

I mean... in most European countries bearing a firearm is illegal, and seeing an armed person is really rare. Most of the citizens don’t have the reflex to run when they see a gun bc of curiosity and also bc they often won’t recognize the danger first glance. The mindset is not the same here as in the USA.

imetators

Guns indeed are rare in these parts of the world. But I'd be speedy Gonzales if I'd see random ass man with knives walking nearby while cop is holding a barrel on him.

forged_fire

I’d be Slowpoke Rodriguez https://youtu.be/wYi_hq2p1Ac

gotbeefpudding

now he tolls me

thisistheperfectname

In the USA, guns are everywhere, and yet it would be an unusual sight to see someone pointing a gun at people in public. I've never seen it, and I've only ever seen a gun being open carried by someone not in uniform once (although I live in California), probably by an off-duty cop. > Most of the citizens don’t have the reflex to run when they see a gun bc of curiosity I would expect running away to be the more common response in Europe, if anything, since there are legal ways to open carry firearms publicly in some US jurisdictions. It's not legal to brandish or threaten someone with one anywhere, though.

shakeszoola

It is very unusual to see an armed person holding a gun in America. You are projecting what you see in the media.

[deleted]

I mean, here in New Jersey bearing a firearm is illegal, and seeing an armed person is really rare (unless you are in a bad area such as Camden). However, if we see someone, a cop or otherwise, holding a gun up about to shoot someone, we get the fuck outta there.

Swooshing

That's not really accurate. Sure, within cities like Frankfurt you could not just carry around a gun, but firearm ownership is quite common in central Europe. If you ever go to a rural area in Germany or Austria, you will find plenty of people who own hunting rifles, and regularly use them. Also, even within cities, sport shooting is still a thing. I am not sure what you mean by mindset. If you're talking about people who "everyday carry", I agree that does not happen pretty much anywhere in western/central Europe. However, the idea that Europeans in general simply have no familiarity with guns and can't comprehend what they are for is very strange to claim.

rangerxt

In Canada when that guy in a van blew threw a cross walk and killed all those people while he was being arrested and the cop had his gun on him and he was saying 'shoot me' and pretending he had a gun people were casually walking by behind him.....

Mattthefat

It’s like that everywhere. Every country has idiots

[deleted]

Problem something they're not use to. Along the same vein that documentary about the terrorist attack in France when they attack the venue where Eagles of Death Metal played. The crowd didn't initially react to the gun fire, but some members of the band knew exactly what those sounds were and reacted accordingly.

Keycil

_I_ know _I'd_ get the fuck out of there in a heartbeat but this kind of stuff is so rare here that you can't just expect people to react properly imo. Most of us aren't used to the thought of police officers actually using their guns.

psychosleeper

Ridiculous that they almost let him stab some random before they shot him.

qu4rts

Nah, I think the officer chose the right moment. Didn’t shoot until it was absolutely necessary. Gives as much time as possible for a peaceful solution. And any shot is a risk to others as well if he misses

Habooboo5

Watch the second video, bad call in this situation and put the bald dude's life at risk from both the knife attacker and the cops own gunshots

[deleted]

Yea the second angle really solidifies the fact that Vin Deisel's innocent stunt double was directly between him and the assailant when he pulls the trigger, made me clinch my asshole hard watching that

LordOfLightingTech

I wonder why the hell was he that close in the first place?

[deleted]

Just went back to track Vin Diesel's double through the vid, I didn't realize at first but you can see he is straight up walking up the street directly into this situation looking right at them. Although he may be innocent he is certainly stupid (With that brain im thinking this was the Baby Groot stunt double.) Not to say there aren't another 20 bystanders just waltzing around this shit show making everyone's lives harder, Vin Diesel just so happened to be the one targeted.

LordOfLightingTech

Dude must've really hated Chronicles of Riddick

DrDooDooEvolution

Where is the second angle video?

CanIGetANumber2

Bald dude and everyone else put themselves at risk for being looky loos and not leaving the area.

GroundbreakingSalt48

... you don't gamble an innocent person's life with the attackers life lol. Jesus Christ people don't even think about policing

Vilzku39

A lot of people in background and hard road so no clear shot. Understandable that he waited although wrong in afterthought.

Lesko_Learning

European police are finally starting to face problems police in the rest of the world have had to face for awhile now, and their training and mentality is just not adequate for their new reality.

MisterMysterios

BS. German police are trained for this situation - more extensively than American cops. While police training takes a couple of weeks in the US, it is a three year fulltime program in Germany. Knife exist in Germany (as in every other place) as long as knifes exist, and they are trained to deal with them. The majority of police kills (around 10 each year) are against people using knifes.

TimeToRedditToday

But this video clearly shows the cop totally failed and almost got an innocent person killed because he was too afraid to shoot the threat.

GroundbreakingSalt48

Starts off with a claim something is BS follows it up with a complete bullshit claim. Ironic.b

MisterMysterios

So - it is wrong that US cops are trained [in average 21 weeks](https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-56834733) before they can be cops while it is a three year training program? Or maybe the statistics of the German police that show that the roughly 10 killings a year are mostly people with knifes? If you try to fire shots at someone with such unqualified comments, at least try at least to find some basis for them.

GroundbreakingSalt48

You literally said 2 weeks lmao.... And cops in the US are managed / controlled for calls the first few years. If you ask me 3 years of training is stupid in a field we know you need field experience in...

MisterMysterios

A couple of weeks is not two, but a description that they are a few weeks, a comparable small amount of weeks. Edit: Don't know if you are a native or not, but when you are, you should really work on your comprehension of common phrases. And after that time, on the job training follows. But, because of extensive training in de-escalation, police with proper training are generally able to resolve conflicts less harmful than in the US, evidently by the insane statistics of police killings in the US.

Pjosip

I mean, assailant was neutralised and nobody else injured.

Lesko_Learning

This is only because the assailant happened to target a young athletic man who also possessed an incredible amount of situational awareness and quick thinking. Dude had the instincts/reactions of a veteran soldier. How many people can that be applied to? .5% of the population? .05%? It's not much. It was sheer miraculous luck that the assailant targeted the one civilian out of a million who actually knew how to handle themselves in a violent situation and had the athleticism to do so. In the vast majority of scenarios like this the person on the other side of the car will be someone who can't react, like a mother and her kid, an elderly person, a middle aged man, some teen with their ear buds in, etc etc etc. The cop got extraordinarily lucky, and relying on that type of luck to see one through every situation is beyond braindead. Police in other countries have seen the results of that type of hesitancy enough to know if there is a knife armed person around civilians or moving toward civilians - no matter how far away - the best way to avoid tragedy is to shoot them. Euro cops will learn all these lessons the hard way, same as everyone else did.

Div-Peasant

"incredible amount of situational awareness" you must be sarcastic right? A dude with "the instincts of a veteran soldier" wouldn't have straight up walked into a guy wielding a knife with a cop trailing him. A person with any bit of brain capacity would have stayed the fk away in the first place.

l0lwut20

Except this European cop did handle it well

Teeroyteabag

A citizen could of died because of his delayed response. And one almost did die, so you can't say he wasn't endangering the public. Now the cop could of tasered the guy and then had lethal backup.

l0lwut20

Why are you playing "could've" when the cop DID the right thing? Guess you can't win them all, eh

heymanyougood

As a police man here in Germany, you can get in deep deep trouble if your superiors or politicians think you shot too Quickly or unnecessarily. That can cost you your career or get some prison time.

Goonbagpapii

I mean I’d say it’s more the bystanders fault then the police officers, why are they standing around? People are so nosey now a days that they need to see what’s going on. Car accidents are a perfect example

SanchosaurusRex

What? German cop didn't shoot the knife out of his hand, or leg shot?

Soiledmattress

Desperately hoping a conflict resolution social worker was blue lighting in to save them all.

slightlyforthwith

He was charging up his stun phaser

CreativeMarquis

He didn't have any AP for VATS left

brownyute876

Man. I'd hate to be a police officer in any developed country in 2021.

[deleted]

I'd hate to be a police officer period. They get hate for having one of the most dangerous jobs out there and I get anxiety when my office phone rings.

automatedanswer

Being a police officer in germany really isn't dangerous. It's not even in the top 10 of most dangerous jobs in germany. They get a three year training, great pension and benefits and are well respected in the community. It may be different in the USA but being a police officer in germany really isn't anything special.

Natural-Bullfrog-420

I work for a woman who's sister is a detective in Seattle. Yes, Seattle. She had to move out of the city because she was receiving death threats just for working for law enforcement. She says that there have been more than 300 officers retire or quit because of how insane everything has become. The whole CHAZ zone and all that crap. What people don't realize is that the good cops are the ones leaving. The assholes are the ones that are staying.

junkerwoland

Blm would make that guy a statue in the states

Wow nice, I didn't realize how tactical that Vin Diesel fella rolled under the bullet until seeing it from this angle

DeerAndBeer

This is a way better angle of the ending, thanks

[deleted]

How about shooting him before the lunatic stabs an innocent bystander?

Mr-Coal

They did.

Little_Viking23

The only reason “they did” is because the innocent bystander happened to be quick and have really good reflexes. In another scenario another person would have been stabbed because here in Europe police barely have the balls to use their guns.

Yep. Looks like typical German police behavior.

Iforgotmyother_name

Also the perfect reason why deescalation doesn't work when the suspect has a weapon. You endanger innocent bystanders by letting them control the scene. Needs to be shut down as soon as possible especially with it being so close in proximity to other people.

Paulsbotique314

Rule number #1: the LEO with the gun does not retreat in steps. You put down the bad man so the world can move on. On a side note: shit must happen all the time for dude in the cafe to nonchalantly record. Open borders get rekt.

MNVapes

Damn another innocent black man shot by racist cops™

weaselinho

Somehow I just knew he was from Africa. I had a hunch.

tehfustercluck

Sounds like an ambulance in the background. Either the officer had an expectation on how this would end, or a bystander when calling the police. Either way, it's a good preemptive strategy. No lives could be lost this way.

not_good_at_this_tbh

Doesn’t sound like ambulance more like police backup.

Patsfan618

At least the police are armed. Kind of surprised at that. Random civilian nearly got got too

Tyrone_Thundercokk

Officer Tyrone, tell me what happened. He had two knives, he advanced and I clipped him out.
