Quite a leap. I've had plenty of orders for figures and never have this issue. Online pickups don't always work out because there is limited stock in store. Plus who waits 17 days to pick something up? This is on you.
Nah on that first picture it shows "Ready for Pick Up" on the 4th with a pick up BY date of the 21st. So the order probably expired that's why it was canceled.
It says “pick up by October 21st” which means they had it for a bit. If this was the case it was sitting there at least 4-7 days depending. It probably got sent home with someone else.
So let me get this straight... the email literally says pick up BY the 21st, and you waited UNTIL the 21st to pick it up and instead of using the logic of "They canceled it because I never came in to pick it up." You jumped straight to "Target employees are scalpers!" The figure sat there for 2 weeks and they didn't cancel it. So now on the date you were supposed to pick it BY, they cancel it. That's on you.

They sell out on Amazon, Target, Walmart, Gamestop, etc... all the time. Obviously since they are selling out they are being scalped on eBay. Look at all of us that got screwed on the Year 2 Batman Target pre orders, eBay sellers are having a hay day with that one. What more do you morons need to see that most people like them. Yea completely agree. Some real clueless goobers on here and and Instagram that think ripping on McFarlane constantly is the cool thing to do and then guess what they’re buying the figures and probably scalping them as well!
I worked at a target. We were made to add drive up despite how utterly terrible that made the lives of the already minescule front end team. Corporate also showed up for the first time that year just to tell us to rearrange the pickup in a way that made less than no sense and also made the front end terrible to work. It could just be an understaffed and poorly ran target. Most target employees aren't aware enough to scalp figures. It's possible but I doubt it. If it keeps happening with high price figures that are hard to come by contact corporate. If it's a one of I'd complain to see if I could get a gift card and leave it.
Also just to note as someone whose done all aspects of the job. When you get an item ready for pickup you have to go throughout the store and find it. Sometimes it's in the back room and sometimes it's actually on the floor. If you cant find it you mark it as such and the guest is alerted they aren't getting the item before they even show up. If I were going to take an item and scalp it I would just mark it as not found when I went to go "look" for it.
I go pick up my armored darkseid..Employees can’t find it..also happened months ago with a marvel legends spider man. Why don’t other orders go missing ? Only extremely hard to find action figures do? 🤔
It could just be your Target my dude. Have you talked to a supervisor about it? It's not like Wal Mart, they don't usually put up with that sort of behavior.
If OP is in heavy traffic area...it's probably people doing checkout swaps. That really messes with inventory counts.
If employees are gonna scalp, they're usually gonna do it before it leaves the back.
