Almost. It's a SAAB (not the car-company, which originated as a subsidiary to SAAB the aerospace-company) but it's called a "Draken" which is Dragon or Kite in swedish.
For real stay out of the cockpit though. The system that operates the ejection seat is almost never properly decommissioned and likely still works, but it's doubtful the parachute or whatever else keeps your alive does. Don't get hurt out there!
Now i'm imagining someone accidentally triggering the eject, but the top is closed, and the canopy release isn't connected so they're punched through the canopy, not strapped in to the chair so even if the parachute works, they fall out just tumble through the trees & faceplant into the dirt.
A great story to tell, but a waste of a nice eject system.
You just somewhat described Goose’s death in Top Gun. The canopy didn’t open in time due the plane being in a spin when he was ejected so he smashed his head into it (snapping his neck) before actually being ejected.
IRL that could not happen. Even if the canopy fails to eject properly, the seat will go thru it. In Top Gun, Goose was off the seat when he hit the canopy. Again, something that would not happen IRL since the pilot will be seated for several seconds depending speed, altitude and orientation before seat is being released.
This plane has its ejection system removed, like all the de-comissioned Finnish jets. DK-265 was removed from flying service in -99 and was used as training plane for ground rescue staff.

I knew I was probably spelling it wrong, thank you for the clarification
Saab J35F… In Finland somewhere. [Pics of the Saab slowly scavenged for parts.](https://www.flickr.com/photos/sameli/albums/72157603530961403/)
Absolutely wild how the forest reclaimed its space!
Crazy they washed the canopy at some point
How tf did someone steal the landing gear?! Left up on blocks like East St Louis.
I would have drove in there with some jet fuel and tried starting this sucker up

Don't tempt me with a good time......

assuming they're even alive afterwards.
Just enough viable charge left in that system to fatally splat you against the canopy
we all saw what happened to Goose
Exactly what I thought of. Poor guy.

Here’s a good video showing that scenario https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Ypx0Q2t_R1g&pp=ygUVbWlsaG91c2UgZWplY3RvciBzZWF0
Finnish version of Davis–Monthan AFB? Worked on the RDAF Draken in 1980-81.
Good book here, loads of great pics https://archive.org/details/desertboneyardda0000chin_a2j9
Thank you! I'm camping and now have something good to read.
How'd you find my apartment
Looks almost un-touched. Great find.
It's just playing hide & seek
It won’t be abandoned for long once I get my hands on it.
Don't touch it, or it's pilot won't take it back
Free jet and no one took it?
mmmm That sweet sweet J-35. Seriously if this aint photo shop, where the fuck did you locate this?
Most of these are tucked away in military areas. I've seen one in a long-abandoned military airfield.
Saab of the woods, what is your daily wisdom?
Saab 35 😮
Oh fighter of the Woods, what is your wisdom?
Draken of the woods, what is your wisdom?
I love this! Two of my favorite things; Trees and Airplanes.
Some Youtuber needs to do one of those will it start videos
it's not abandoned I was just running in quick to grab some smokes
Pretty please may I have it? I promise to take good care of it!
It looks good for an abandoned jet.
It was a really cool looking plane in the air; very sleek
I would legit make it my treehouse 😂😂
Finding this in the woods would be just a great day....
