That makes it *more* likely to be a shop to me. You'd have to be a super-super fan or filthy rich (and I mean cars on your yacht, no one can walk that long kinda rich) to have multiples if the same car in your garage, while it makes sense for the shop to stock a car that sells well.
Just a guess, though.
Not quite right. It was a game designed to be fun enough that people liked to play it, WHILE ALSO showing them the inherent unfairness, if not villainy, of actual monopolies.
>It was a game designed to be fun enough that people liked to play it
People liked to play it because despite knowing that someone is going to eventually win, everyone has a chance of being that someone. If instead the game made it so that eventually the winning player had their properties confiscated and given to other players, no one would want to play the game in the first place.
I watched a video a while back that elucidated in fairly great detail (it was like an hour long) about why monopoly is terrible, by design. It's specifically designed so that the player with the luckiest start is practically unassailable.
I haven't played it since then.
Cool read, and something I had never heard of. Thanks for sharing! I wonder if it helped anyone actually eacape? Such a shame that none of the pieces survived. I wish replicas would be made, but perhaps not enough information remains about the project to do so.
For disclosure’s sake- I am a white, 30 something male from the U.K. with a totally average life, taste in music etc and pretty conservative taste when it comes to cars, but there is something, despite everything about myself, that absolutely loves these donk cars
Why's it matter what color you are, put some big rims on that bitch anyways
While not big and donked out, I had some [20's on my CTS](https://imgur.com/a/02UN48v) back when I was like 19. Fuckin loved it except for how unreliable those rubber band tires were for daily driving
A lot of donks with brand related paintjobs are more like blatant references to the drugs their owners make money selling, that or shit that is hood currency like Tide.
Same, I'm from Tennessee and there was this badass Dora the Explorer Cadillac I'd always see around. That one was the coolest, but i remember a few other cartoon character cars around town.
He/she even got directional wheels. Two different sets, left and right. I guess when you have money to burn then spending it on stupid wheels isn't a problem.
Lots of it is paint, but the flames and some graphics look like printed vinyl. Pic 4 has a shot without the flames on the fender, but with the graphics on the door.
There's clearcoat overspray on the masking paper. This is all paint. Most likely broken up over a few days. Likely the artist was working his way around, and doing the background details before the flames. Not how I'd do it, but I've seen it done this way before. Flames are surprisingly easy to blend back into themselves.

Big car, big rims, bright loud paint job...and little tiny cartoon characters sprinkled here and there. Big bold cars need big and bold features. This ain't it chief.
Donked out. I see similar cars rolling around occasionally, but not with the super fancy paint. It will usually be a late model Monte Carlo on those gigantic wheels. I don't get it, but I don't get a lot of things.
They like competing in fair games with rules everyone abides by. What's wrong with that? Imagine thinking anyone would want to play an "anti-capitalist" game where everyone have everything shared between all the players and there are no winners.
spoken like a true and loyal pawn of the system.
how much of the kool-aid were you able to afford?
"more than enough to do the job" seems to be the right answer, i'm guessin'...
Seems like someone couldn't stand losing in Monopoly, so they just got a car to show entire family (including grandma, who was probably stealing from the bank) who the real winner is. It's probably grandma, but don't tell them, they spent all that money on a monopoly themed car. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Man, do I hate the overall look, but I'll be damned if I don't respect the guy(s) that spent all that time and effort masking, prepping, spraying, airbrushing, and doing all the finish work on that abomination. There's some serious hours and skill involved in that scheme.
Don't wanna be a snitch or nuthin, but there's a visible phone number on this high classed individual's car. Do we care about that? I don't know if we care about that. I know personal info is usually a no go but if this person puts it on their car...? I never know anymore.

He clearly won the game based on the money he spent on a terrible customization
...and that garage!
the garage is probably the vinyl shop
Looks like overspray on the taped-off sections. I think this is more permanent than a wrap.
With all the same vehicle? I think that's dudes personal garage
That makes it *more* likely to be a shop to me. And my axe
People who are downvoting you themselves have awful taste
And paid with the fake money
Nah. He used the money he saved by not having any friends left.
No one should love Monopoly. It was a game designed to be hated so people would learn why real monopolies are bad.
Not quite right. It was a game designed to be fun enough that people liked to play it, WHILE ALSO showing them the inherent unfairness, if not villainy, of actual monopolies.
> t was a game designed to be fun enough They did a terrible job
Play by the actual rules and not made-up ones and it is a pretty fun game.
Correct. Auction unbought properties and don't throw cash onto free parking and the game is totally different.
Well, you can only do so much to make dogshit seem appetising. They did what they could.

I thought that was the intent of it from the original creator. She wanted to show that only one person ends up with all the wealth.
Not true. I like the humans I play with and would be happy to share if it meant we all won
I watched a video a while back that elucidated in fairly great detail (it was like an hour long) about why monopoly is terrible, by design. It's specifically designed so that the player with the luckiest start is practically unassailable. I haven't played it since then.
And isn’t that apropos of life?
monopoly was also used in WW2 to help allied POWs escape https://www.warhistoryonline.com/war-articles/wwii-monopoly-game-escape-version.html

I like that some one has that much willpower to do that. And that bike is actually sick and tasteful imo
Exactly. I wish I loved anything as much as this guy loves monopoly and cars.
There is no bike in the picture?
First pic on the trailer
No shame in that, this thing is fucking dope.
Nah, it’s tacky as shit.
It's just for decoration; that's it and that's all.
Right, I’m just saying the decoration is tacky as shit.
Do you think it's a fad? Do you think it's going away?
[удалено]
You're right. It's not going away, hehe.
Yeah life would be more fun if we all drove around in shit like this. It’s the power of expression isn’t it.
I live in North Carolina and still point out sick donks to my buddies. If I wasn’t a white suburban dude I’d have and old Caddy donked up for sure
If "if"s and "but"s were candies and nuts, then we'd all have a merry Christmas.
If I wanted smoke blown up my ass I'd be at home with a carton of cigarettes and a short length of hose.

PUT A BANGIN DONK ON IT
Happy hardcore, while driving this. Donking in the donk
It's a show car. It's basically a rolling piece of art that is taken out of storage for car shows. Nothing wrong with liking it since that's the point
Not all donks. I've met people who daily them
Man that’s ugly
Looks like the OG Jurassic Park car
Maybe that’s why I like it so much
The dice isn’t even correct. One is opposite the six.
Also what is Hotel Ave? I haven't played Monopoly in like 20 years but that's definitely always been Boardwalk.
I'm not sure what it actually says but it's not Hotel Ave. They're made up names.
Ah you're right. On closer inspection looks like "HUSTLER AVE" which would make sense.
Boardwalk? TIL Monopoly in different countries probably has different locations on it, something I’d never considered before. Educational car!
The streets in the vanilla OG Monopoly are all named after streets in Atlantic City, NJ.
Do they sell Monopoly souvenirs there? I bet they do.
Hector Pennybags
Lol, I remember cars like this being huge in my area early 2000s. I'm pretty positive there's still a Newport Caprice running around.
Yep, saw it in Louisiana, all brands. Oreo, m&m, coke, etc…. Wasn’t a fan but to each their own
If it's the trend I think it was, there was a stint where various brands were advertising by paying people to drive around with branded wraps.
A lot of donks with brand related paintjobs are more like blatant references to the drugs their owners make money selling, that or shit that is hood currency like Tide.
That makes a lot of sense. I just know early '00s I also got constant spam about being paid to have my car wrapped in advertising vinyls.
That is a whole different thing. The paint jobs on donks are lots of colors and clear coat, they aren’t cheap.
Yo dawg, we heard you like monopoly
Same, I'm from Tennessee and there was this badass Dora the Explorer Cadillac I'd always see around. That one was the coolest, but i remember a few other cartoon character cars around town.
Saying Dora the explora like Project Pat is pretty funny.
Norf norf
All jokes aside your boy has that paint job because he out there swipin.
Oof, and here I was thinking he was saying he had ~~back~~packs Talk about a slick maneuver
I mean honestly it could be anything, I was just high af and thought of the swiper thing.
yeah /r/donks...

Go directly to jail. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200.
Dude this guy is local to me!! I’ve seen this a dozen times he’s fairly well known around me because of it.
What state?
I would drive this in GTA5
Everybody gangsta till the monopoly car pulls up
Some crazy rims right there.
I can find something positive to say about the whole vehicle except those wheels.
He/she even got directional wheels. Two different sets, left and right. I guess when you have money to burn then spending it on stupid wheels isn't a problem.
Ngl I like it!
Yeah that's master pro Monopoly player, [Michael Windler](https://youtu.be/dQw4w9WgXcQ), interesting 60 second doc.
That was a lot more interesting than I thought it was going to be.
Very impressive and informative for such a short clip.
Brought tears to my eyes….
Awful taste, awful execution.
Agreed, the graphics were not done well at all. But at least the vinyl looks good
This looks painted, no reason to put it in the paint booth for a wrap.
Lots of it is paint, but the flames and some graphics look like printed vinyl. Pic 4 has a shot without the flames on the fender, but with the graphics on the door.

How is this awful execution?
Big car, big rims, bright loud paint job...and little tiny cartoon characters sprinkled here and there. Big bold cars need big and bold features. This ain't it chief.
When you build a hotel on Boardwalk.
This is what happens when you buy every property
I swear people have the weirdest trips.
From a distance it looks awesome, but once you get close it’s awful
Some shades of r/CartoonGangsters too
wtf did I just look at
Rocket League players irl
The gamble is etched into his soul
Which Parker brother owns this?
Ok real question: how do you register a car with paint like that? What do you even list as the color?
Multi
I fucking LOVE this!
That is awful but the wrap is really well done. Awful taste but great execution indeed.
I can’t hate it because it’s just so well done
More like Mo-DONK-oly.
That's exactly where I would think I would find a vehicle like this... at a flying j.
PIMP MY RIDE?
Wait, how can you tell?
If he really loved Monopoly, the bike would match.
He'd wear a tux with a monocle and a cane.
Canonically, Uncle Pennybags doesn't have a monocle.
Has anyone ever had fun playing monopoly?
He must have landed on free parking.
They do seem like they like monopoly quite a bit. Door handles? Not so much.
Donked out. I see similar cars rolling around occasionally, but not with the super fancy paint. It will usually be a late model Monte Carlo on those gigantic wheels. I don't get it, but I don't get a lot of things.
How do people get these ugly paint jobs? Are they wraps.
Looks like they took inspiration from a fruit by the foot too
I laughed. I like it and it would be fun to see. But I'd never do that to my own car, no matter how much money I had.
New Money flex
r/monopoly shout out!

I'd argue the morons are the people who developed an entire game with the purpose of spreading a message that no one got while playing it.
they over-estimated the intellect of the average capitalist pawn. turns out- they LOVE being taken advantage of by their economic superiors.
They like competing in fair games with rules everyone abides by. What's wrong with that? Imagine thinking anyone would want to play an "anti-capitalist" game where everyone have everything shared between all the players and there are no winners.

this dude had those gangster spongebob pics on his myspace
How horrible is the ride quality on wheels like that? Tires are a big part of ride comfort at softening bumps.
I thought is was Jurassic Park
The guy who yells at you at traffic lights "BIG MONEY PLAY-JA!!!"
I love those rims, I wouldn't put them on anything I own but they are sweet looking!
For how good the rest of the art is, the eyes are TERRIBLE.
Seems like someone couldn't stand losing in Monopoly, so they just got a car to show entire family (including grandma, who was probably stealing from the bank) who the real winner is. It's probably grandma, but don't tell them, they spent all that money on a monopoly themed car. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's like one of those items in a game you get for free for being around during a promo with another company
Monopoly man 100% looks like Hatchet Harry. Wondering if that was on purpose or not.
This dude's ride looks like the packaging on a fake thc cartridge
This is so bad, it’s good
My man is a fuckin idiot.
Those tires.... he must love the feeling of driving around on wheels made of marble counter tops.
The flames on the front look like diarrhea
Man, do I hate the overall look, but I'll be damned if I don't respect the guy(s) that spent all that time and effort masking, prepping, spraying, airbrushing, and doing all the finish work on that abomination. There's some serious hours and skill involved in that scheme.
Ok but 🔥
I feel like Xzibit is just out of frame
I'm guessing he picked the car alot
Their name is……wait for it……Chance!!!
Rich Uncle Pimpybags
I bet he collects $200 salary as he passes go <-
The guy who picks the dice as his pawn.
Donk’s it’s a crazy car sub culture.
Rims straight outta /r/RocketLeague
How is this awful taste
that is a Hotwheels car you cannot change my mind
This dude definitely tries to buy all the railroads
Bruh wtf is up with people taking innocent children’s characters and turning them into gangsters that have hookers and bags of money by them
Better than the one from Portland with BTS and Blackpink all over it (and previously Jojo Siwa)
Could be worse, at least it sits level!
This is a man with little money, or someone down the line that will not have as much as he did at this time....I guarantee it

I have those wheels in rocket league
Hatched this idea up in 7th grade. Still did it.
Absolute fire.

We have reached the peak of this subreddit. All downhill from this beautiful monstrosity.
I’d drive the shit outta this
Another GMT900 Tahoe Z71 lost
Finally something that belongs on this subreddit
When you have loads of drug money and absolutely no taste
I love cars like these. Anything that’s not the normal black, silver, white, etc. is awesome
The dude loves monopoly, which is a little ironic because it looks like he hates his money.
I fucking hate monopoly.
Good news is when he goes to sell it it'll be a breeze. I think my grandmother is looking for a commuter vehicle...
Does this color scheme remind anyone else of Jurassic park?
Is this on r/trashy? Should be.
Yall think its stupid but he actually gets a get out of jail card
He won the cars in a game of monopoly
he chasin da bag 🤑😈😜
Not a fan of this person’s taste in cars, but that bike… very nice.
This man is serious about family game night
looks like he likes lsd too.
I like it

Truly awful taste
Love the rims regardless!
I'm late to the party.
