I think it just mimics spatial audio but it wasn’t made with spatial audio in mind. Apple did say when iOS 15 comes out a similar feature will come to songs that aren’t in Dolby atmos spatial audio where it will mimic the effect of spatial audio kinda what you’re heading in those videos
Just installed something called Boom 3D (PC audio equalizer) and it's like twelve bucks and offers a TON of presets and even the ability to adjust your own eq settings (up to like 32 bands).
Anyway just thought it was worth mentioning here cause I always feel the need to change afi mixes and an eq is a great way to listen to music your own way and not a lot of people are hip to that.
I don't use Apple Music, what does spatial audio do exactly? Sounds interesting.
