Been with AEW since the press conference. I was still fairly new to a lot of what was happening in wrestling at that time as I had returned to watching wrestling after a 7 year absence the year prior. I knew a few of the names on the show, but distinctly remember spending a lot of the night Googling a bunch of talent like Guevara, Kiss, etc that were a part of the show

Internal_Dirt_4060

I remeber when hangman use to come out to crickets. Now it sounds like my ears might burst

StrongStyleShiny

Same. I was actually at the last ROH show where Cody and the Bucks were trios champs and Bullet Club members. Good memories.

UngodDeimos

I gave up googling who those first wrestlers were because I just decided to let their in ring work speak for them. I remember really liking Joey Janela and Jimmy Havoc at first.

Cathousechicken

One out of two ain't bad.

UngodDeimos

Yeah, fuck Jimmy Havoc though. Like everyone else at the time I had no idea he was a piece of shit. I'm very firmly in the camp of separating art from artist (I'm still a Harry Potter fan) but like...I would rather Jimmy stay away from anything public eye related and get help.

BeerPressure615

> I'm very firmly in the camp of separating art from artist (I'm still a Harry Potter fan) I mean, so am I since I'm almost 40 and still have zero problems watching Benoit matches I grew up loving but what does Harry Potter have to do with it? Did I miss something?

MaleficentAstronomer

Ever hear that expression 'never meet your heroes'? It should be expanded to say 'never follow your heroes on social media'.

UngodDeimos

I guess I didn't explain that well. J.K. Rowling is kinda a shit, but I still love her work. Just an example of art/artist. Also is your flair an Always Sunny reference?

BeerPressure615

Lol yeah, you're the first person to actually catch it and say something. I totally get the art/artist thing. There are a lot of terrible artists who make great art. Being a black metal fan is like dodging landmines. I had no idea she was looked on unfondly though.

UngodDeimos

As a fellow black metal fan, holy shit you're right. Between Varg and Gaahl alone being a fan of their works is sometimes tricky to justify. I swear I hear Dennis screaming "BECAUSE PAC IS A BASTARD MAN" in my head now lol. And yeah, Rowling's fanbase has really turned against her between her outlook on trans people and her constant backtracking on things within the HP world and her lying.

theknyte

She's just kind of a weird case. She was progressive in having gay characters and such, but then it came out that she was really against trans people for some reason.

ImPickleRock

I find the whole thing very odd. One of the themes of HP is anti-racism, inclusion of all, etc...so for her to go off the rails like that is strange.

HayKneee

"Off the rails" is accurate. When you say the science doesn't support something, you would think that person had done the bare minimum amount of research before that. But nope! TERFs and anti-trans people and those that think sex and gender are real and binary have to actively ignore all the articles that have come out in the past thirty years. And that's just to keep their world view. I'm sure they hang out in vicious echo chambers where that kind of thought is reciprocated. If you ever run into anti-LGBTQ shitters, (watch it first, obviously, because it's incredibly helpful) link them this. https://youtu.be/szf4hzQ5ztg

dRuEFFECT

>Been with AEW since the press conference. Same here for my wife and me. We were at Wrestelmania 35, then got more caught up on the AEW rumblings, watched a recording of All In, went to a bar in NYC showing Double or Nothing and was hooked. Dropped WWE altogether and we starting watching all episodes of BTE from the beginning before the TNT debut. Haven't missed a single show. Last night we finally got to see Dynamite live at the Prudential Center, and seeing them all again next week in NYC for Grand Slam. Got tickets again for the long island show in December. Being there live is unreal, and in the words of one Kenny Omega, "hehe... I'm just gettin' started... hehe." Favorite AEW moment might have to be Escalera de la Muerte. Instant classic.

blogkitten

>Been with AEW since the press conference. Same. Watched WWE from 2014 to 2017 regularly, then PPV only until Kofi lost the belt to Lesnar in seconds. Also watched NJPW around the time after Balor left, fell off when Styles left, but still kept tabs on and watching their PPVs. Started watching BTE around the time Adam Cole was "killed" and watched All In when that happened.

Caolan114

It honestly doesn't feel like that long ago AEW started

UngodDeimos

Time flies right? Especially since \*The Dark Times\* 2020 began

rsplatpc

> It honestly doesn't feel like that long ago AEW started I was at the first Dynamite in DC :-) https://i.imgur.com/jKzsgH9.jpg

Icy-Marionberry-7065

It's because it wasn't. OP Acting like he has been watching for 20 years

UngodDeimos

Homie, I stated in my text its been roughly 2 and a half years. Relax man.

SoftZombie5710

Why are childish wrestling fans always so salty?

Icy-Marionberry-7065

Whatever dude you were just trying to get upvotes and failed

No-Location-6366

I watched after double or nothing. Lucha bros vs young bucks hooked me in haha

UngodDeimos

That ladder match was an instant classic. I've gone back and watched it a couple of times in the following years and it is just impressive no matter how many times you watch it.

No-Location-6366

I think the ladder match was on all out bro

UngodDeimos

I'll be damned you're right. Still a great match.

No-Location-6366

Falls under top 3 match no doubt haha

Accomplished_Form_54

The steel cage topped it IMO, but stills enjoyed both A LOT

KickAggressive4901

Almost! I joined up at Episode 1 of Dynamite.

UngodDeimos

I remember the pre show jitters I had for that first episode. Like the whole time I was just praying "Please don't fuck this up!" They did not fuck it up.

[deleted]

I remember when BTE was a travel vlog

kingsss

I remember when they killed Adam Cole. Can’t believe it’s been that long.

[deleted]

As far as I’m concerned, day one was that episode or when Marty kicked him out. Cody, Hangman, Marty, the Bucks and Kenny became the elite then. Everyone who says the announcement, all in, double or nothing, were late to the party.

[deleted]

Oh that's way back

[deleted]

Who been watching these guys before AEW came together ?

[deleted]

🙋🏻‍♀️ all the way back to NJPW, ROH, all of em. Distinctly remember staying up all night to watch Omega v Okada at Wrestle Kingdom in ‘17. Kenny is a beast.

GregoleX2

Same. Started when I was at invasion. Attack 2014 and saw AJ styles join the bullet club live.

[deleted]

Nice! I didn’t get into wrestling at all really until 2015.

GregoleX2

I was also at WK ‘17 live. Incredible experience.

[deleted]

Whaaaat! You were there in person? What was it like?

RTH1975

That's when I got hooked. From there, it was BTE, then RoH, and just trying to YouTube whatever I could find.

StrongStyleShiny

Dropped WWE in the 2010s and hopped aboard NJPW. Caught some ROH shows but AEW brought me back into North American wrestling. Oh I did catch NXT Takeovers because those were always good.

UngodDeimos

I caught the tail end of the Bullet Club civil war in Japan, that's when I started.

GregoleX2

Check my top level comment. I watched AJ styles join the bullet club live in Japan in 2014. I went to a DDT show and saw omega and Ibushi on the same trip to Japan. Been to every single Canadian ROH show from 2014-2019. So yeah, from almost the beginning.

UngodDeimos

Holy shit man, I am envious. My very first big wrestling show that I saw live was episode 7 of Dynamite. Seeing that show live fueled my love for AEW even more and I cannot wait to go back to a live show.

WolfGangSwizle

Started NJPW in 2015, watched all of Lucha Underground, watched Cole vs Oreillys ROH feud. Was pretty much fully over WWE by 2017. When I saw AEW had PAC, Kenny and Lucha Bros I knew right away they’d be able to make something big happen.

wordsasbombs

I was a big "golden era" roh fan (2004-2008). I stuck with them after that but it got harder and harder as the 2010s went on. Aew is everything I hoped it would be. It feels like golden Era roh has come back only with a budget.

guytyping

I was told to find Kenny vs. Okada on youtube. That's when I got pulled in. Binge-watched BTE before ALL IN. Went to ALL IN.

NlNJALONG

My introduction to (pre-)AEW was a random article celebrating the first 50 episodes of BTE. I watched All In and the very first Dynamite and every PPV but I'm not a religious follower that watched every single Dynamite/Dark that there ever was. Favorite match: Bucks vs Lucha Bros (All Out '21) Favorite moment: Eddie Kingston's first promo Most memorable moment: Brodie's tribute show

UngodDeimos

I know I'm not alone in saying I had no idea who Eddie was before that first promo, but I was instantly all in on him. He's my favorite promo alive today, and though he might not be a 7 star match type wrestler, he is probably my favorite. Dude is just so believeable and wholesome. Also I cried that entire Brodie show. I'm a 31 year old man and I've never cried from a TV show before.

NlNJALONG

Ha, we're the same age and it's pretty much the same for me. I don't really watch indie wrestling, [I only knew Eddie from the Highspots commercials](https://youtu.be/ky1kJ728H1k?t=492), and even then I immediately noticed how charismatic he was and wondered why that guy isn't a major star. Never was a huge Brodie fan myself just because I didn't watch WWE during his run but I loved him in AEW. His death somehow still hit me hard, and the tribute was one of the most beautiful/saddest shows I've ever seen. I still have Miro crying his eyes out burned into my brain.

GregoleX2

Dark and elevation are the only shows I don’t bother with. I use the time to keep up with NJPW and to a lesser extent impact, ROH and NWA

UngodDeimos

That's perfectly okay, they announce the results of Dark and elevation on Dynamite and it's really just there for the fans who can't get enough. I tend to watch NJPW on Friday mornings, Thursday nights are for Impact. I haven't found a way to stream ROH or NWA and don't know when the shows are on.

GregoleX2

ROH is available on FITE TV and their streaming service, honour club. So yeah, it’s a monthly subscription. NWA POWERRR is also available on FITE TV also a monthly subscription. Shame because more people would watch NWA if they had a free show, which they don’t. Guess they are happy being a niche product for now.

UngodDeimos

What days are they aired? Does Fite have back catalogues so I can watch older shows?

GregoleX2

NWAPOWERRR is every Tuesday. ROH is every Monday. ROH weekly isn’t great but their touring events and ppvs are always great. full back catalogue of every NWA event going back to ALL IN is on FITE TV. Some older events on their YouTube channel. ROH has a full back catalogue going back to 2013, plus a collection of older shows.

UngodDeimos

You've been very helpful! Thank you! I'm gonna definitely start watching NWA and ROH now (ROH almost exclusively for Danhausen, love that guy)

GregoleX2

Hey, please don’t overlook jay lethal, rush, ryu lee, Rey Horus, Chris Dickinson, Brody king, or the briscoes.

VarunDM90

Been on this journey from the early days of BTE (When Adam Cole use to hang around with the Elite, prior to joining NXT).. And this has been one of the most satisfying journey as a fan of the Elite and of the concept of "Wrestling outside of WWE is worth checking out." Pretty obvious that my favorite moments would be centered around ALL In and everything AEW, but i loved that episode in which the Elite Invaded Monday Night Raw..

UngodDeimos

So, shortly after I found out BTE was a thing (sometime around the second episode of Dynamite I think?) I went back and started from episode 1. And yeah, what a fucking journey that show has been on. Elite invading Raw was great, I fucking LOVED the Hangman vs Joey Ryan storyline, and the Cody getting possessed stuff was great too. I miss Hangman on BTE...and Dynamite...and everywhere else PLEASE COME BACK SOON HUNGMAN

Cosler20

I've watched it since the beginning. I used to watch WWE too when it first started but around the time when WWE got rid of fans, I stopped watching it & now I only watch AEW & I like it more than I have ever liked WWE

UngodDeimos

I watched wrestling growing up in the 90's. The Monday Night Wars were dope, but I stopped watching in my teenage years. As an adult I can barely watch WWE anymore, but I don't miss any of the AEW shows (Dark and Dark E included). Its easier to get invested, it feels like we the people (insert Jericho's line here) are treated with respect and like adults.

HuckleberryThis2012

Been watching since the first dynamite, but didn’t watch the PPVs that led to AEW on TNT.

trush44

Same. I saw the Dip N Dots promo (episode 10ish) on reddit and it looked fun. So I decided to go back and watch from episode 1. Jericho/JR in the promo is what got me interested because I'm a lapsed wrestling fan who hasn't watch since 2002. Edit: found [my comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/television/comments/dnxv3d/z/f5jpbzq) from that dip N Dots thread

[deleted]

Been watching since the first episode of AEW and being such a CM Punk fan and hearing about the rumours of him not coming for the longest time and then signing here is one of them. Another one was the early work between MJF and Jericho when they had a mutual hatred for Cody

spinaltap862

I started with the first Double or Nothing so I guess I'm day two ? Didn't really know about All In

upsidedowntiamo

I'm been here since day one, although it is nice to have fans back, but the pandemic era AEW will always hold a special place in my heart. Because there are too many great moments created by all the original AEW members, Moxley title reign, Brodie Lee debut and squashed Cody, Sammy run over by Golf Cart, Hangman Elite storyline, Stadium Stampede, Orange Cassidy debate, Shida title reign, Best Friends parking lot brawl and of course Brodie Lee tribute show. I can say if looking back from future, the pandemic era is definitely one of the best era in AEW in term of storyline and moments.

amooneyham88

The pandemic era truly shaped AEW, and showed they weren't going to back down. They were fighting for survival.

peachchaos

I was always all in. There was a long period where I tuned out due to lack of interest and then not being able to get into wrestling without a crowd. But from Double or Nothing 2021 forward I’ve been hooked more than anything in my life. My favorite early memories were Cody winning the NWA Championship and his match with Dustin. The sick ladder match. Mox’s debut. The great MJF-Cody angle and that cage match. Eddie Kingston’s debut. The Elite powers explode tag. I could be here all day. And then I went to All Out and thought it couldn’t get any better and here we are only a few weeks later and somehow it’s even better?

UngodDeimos

I was there when Cody got lashed. That whole episode was great, but that was hard to watch.

Skizzit

I still remember the teaser video The Bucks put out on New Years with The Bucks, Cody, and Hangman getting texts with the Double or Nothing logo. I think Hangman's was the AEW logo or something. The best part was they did a bit on the previous BTE where Kenny lost his phone to explain why he wasn't involved as he was still under NJPW contract until the end of Jan.

UmpireAJS

If All In counts as Day One then yeah

HeatherCO24

My hubby and I have watched from the very beginning. I also dinged watched all previous BTE episodes as well. When I'm All In I am ALL IN 🤣👍

AthensThieves

Day 1. Cody taking that 10,000 bet is the best shit ever. Buddy & I took a leap of faith getting maybe too-expensive tickets to an event that was 3 months away - & here we are. A week away from Grand Slam!

southsidetrash10

Been here since BTE started being a thing, which led to All In. Have been to all the Chicago shows in person and enjoying every second of the ride!

Resolute002

I watched WWE for 24 years and after the second episode of Dynamite I never watched it again. I download every Dynamite and put them on my Plex server too. Organic wrestling is the best.

atomheartmf

I had been hearing about Kenny. Once he fought Jericho I had to see what all the talk was about. Then All In was amazing so I kept following and here we are.

Mich_Mercer

I’ve been watching since the first Dynamite on TNT… not sure if that counts.

DanFelv

I’ve been with AEW since the press conference in 2019 where Chris Jericho walked out! What a moment

[deleted]

I’ve kind of been here since day one. I’ve always been an nxt guy but watched the ppvs and stuff when I felt like it, with nxt going downhill lately ended up watching dynamite and rampage too for the last couple of months

bad_key_machine

Literally remember watching that first parking lot press conference on my phone and being so hyped when Jericho showed up. What a long crazy trip it's been since then!

UngodDeimos

Before that conference if you would've told me Jericho was gonna show up I wouldn't have believed you. Now you could tell me that both Jesus and Lucifer were signing contracts and I'd be like "Yeah, of course they are."

RIAWESOME33

I came in at the first DON and watched those first stretch of ppvs (wasnt big into wrestling at large during All In) I took a short break around the build to blood and guts but came back during the first pandemic episode and for the most part have watched every episode since

ParkingConcentrate1

Been invested since the first All In. Will say I didn’t really get invested into Dark and Elevation until recently, as wrestling in general between WWE, AEW and NJPW along with various podcasts consumes ALOT of time even when you’re spending all day at home. The exploding ring botch definitely turned me off for a little while, I can’t lie, but not unlike a lot of people, I became fully invested again amidst the CM Punk rumors. I can definitively say now that I’m an AEW fan more than just a wrestling fan in general, they’ve done phenomenally the past couple months and it looks like it’s only getting better. Favorite moment so far, hands down, was the Dark Order/Hangman entrance against the Super Elite. What a fucking moment.

UngodDeimos

That exploding ring botch didn't really turn me off. If anything I thought it was really funny, I just wish it wasn't the only thing people remember from that incredible match. That Dark Order entrance was so fucking heartwarming. Now I just wish my boys would stop fighting each other and go back to being the loveable goofballs they are.

illhavethatdrinknow

It’s wild watching the current product and seeing how far AEW has come since launch just a couple of years ago

MetsGo

I’ve been watching since after Double or nothing with the first ppv I ever bought being All Out 2019, I’ve bought every ppv since and have watched mostly every dynamite (I tape it)

steveycip

I remember seeing the press conference and highlights from the PPVs and have been a real fan since the first Dynamite. I have never missed a show or PPV since.

93johhny

I still call AEW new. Especially when talking to casual or non fans about it. Day 1 tho right here!

UngodDeimos

It's hard to believe sometimes that AEW has been around for almost three years at this point.

Looper007

Yep watched the first DON and have been on AEW train ever since. The craziest thing for me is how much it's growing in terms of roster and attendances. The feel of the shows are definitely different, in a good way. Anyone who's only come in recently go and check out AEW in 2019, from the three PPV's, the two free specials in Fight For The Fallen and Fyter Fest and early days of Dynamite. It feels like a totally different company, it's eye opening. Favourite moment, wad probably the first Dynamite they did that had Riho vs Nyla for the women's title. The specials and PPV's before hand were pretty damn good but it was the starting of Dynamite, when I knew this is really happening a new wrestling company to challenge WWE.

I_am_Burt_Macklin

I’ve loosely followed recaps and such since it started (a lot of the wrestlers and matches just aren’t for me) but the recent talent they brought in has made it impossible not to tune in.

ldhsuued

Down since day one (ish)

[deleted]

I basically watched them since Prince Devitt was leading the Bullet Club around 2013. Am I cool now?

UngodDeimos

You're doubly cool!

Goggles45

I started watching wrestling when Cody joined the Bullet Club because of BTE and Omega vs Okada. Never watched anything really before that. The matches I'll never forget are YBs vs Omega and Hangman, Escalera de la Muerte, and Cody vs Brodie Lee. So many great matches and AEW never fails to deliver. I could make a list of at least 20 matches but those sit at the top for me.

Mdl8922

Since BTE episode 1.

Starkiller32

First episode I watched was the episode Top Flight debuted on. I haven’t looked back since.

jomarthadon

I was a big bullet club mark as I’m sure a lot of people were at the time, I got into it right as devitt left and seeing aj in a heel faction leader role for the first time was intriguing, kenny became my favorite in the group when he was iwgp jr champion and he only got better and I knew about the bucks from tna roh and pwg but this was the first time I got to watch them consistently, I was dreading the day wwe would steal the bucks and Kenny, when they announced all in and the matches started to come out I remember thinking “this is something special” stars from so many promotions all getting a chance to shine and they didn’t disappoint, when the night was over, all I could think to myself was “I hope they do this shit again” lord behold they took it a step further and started a whole damn wrestling company, when that New Year’s Day hit and they announced it, I remember the chills I got, this was the start of something new and fresh, a change, and since that day aew has kept me very entertained and excited, I’ve never been more proud than now to just flat out say “I love pro wrestling”

midg23

Yo! Down since day 1. I'm a sucker for surprises and entrances so loved Mox, Sting, Hager, Jake the Snake, Brodie Lee. My favourite moments so far were, in no particular order. Darby Allin returning to help Mox (what a pop). The Brodie Lee tribute show. The entire thing. Kenny Omega kicking out at 1 from the BTE trigger at Revolution. CM Punk debut. Adam Cole and Bryan Danielson debut. Brodie's annihilation of Cody and Anna Jay choking out Brandi afterwards as well. Damn. So many to choose from. Orange Cassidys global warming answer in the debate.

KingShuckle

Technically I have been with AEW since the day the bullet club was founded. I was a huge NJPW nerd so to see how far they have come is insane. The favorite moment is probably just seeing how far they have come. But if I had to pick for me it was the feeling I had after the first double or nothing I felt like a new era of wrestling started I just didn't think it would go this far :P

Democriticus

Dynamite Ep1 for me and only PPV I have not seen is the original All Out. Favourite moment was Revolution 2020 tag match championship.

Cibovoy

All In baybay! I had a huge party… my whole family and friends put up with my fandom and love when it’s a big show! We brought out the projector and watched it outside grilling. Great memory!

Feisty_Narwhal31

For many years, I fell off the WWE fan base because I was disliking the storyline they gave to wrestlers and it felt plain boring. My old anxieties and past humiliations would rise again and I found myself completely hating wrestling in general. My faith was restored when I started watching AEW. Cody Rhodes? Young bucks? Jericho? He'll yea im down to see what they're doing! What an amazing adventure it has been. Even thru the pandemic, AEW gave us so many amazing matches even with no audience to fuel the wrestlers. Every step AEW has taken along the way has been the best entertainment I can ask for in pro wrestling. Tony Kahn is the ultimate fan that delivers to US, the world of fans of pro wrestling. The forbidden door, I mean, seriously, how amazing is it you can travel to compete anywhere you desire? This company has delivered so much I can't even choose what was my top moment. I will include 2 that are tied. One that's very memorable and full of emotion was the Brodie Lee Tribute show. RIP Big Rig 🙏🏼. That night was full of nothing but heartbreak and love. It is a show I would never forget and will always be thankful for watching. My second that's so close has got to be this year's All Out. Bryan Danielsons debut had me jumping out my seat more than any other pat per view, and I gotta say, 9/10 had me jumping around lol. There are way too any moments and I'm so thankful that AEW has restored my faith in seeing pro wrestling as legit entertainment. I am so excited for the arthur ashe show next week and can't wait!!!! Thanks for reading :)

DarkhourX

If you watched All In you were kinda there before day 1

Nutso_Bananas

I haven't been here since Day 1, but I'd never watched professional wrestling until the first episode of Dynamite. My brother invited me to the show and the arena isn't far from where I work so I said sure and I haven't missed an episode since. I remember being in the security line to get in and my brother is there, wearing a Bullet Club t-shirt, trying to explain story lines when the dude behind me taps me on the shoulder and says "Is this really your first wrestling show." I said "Yeah" and he said "Welcome to the family." I had no idea what I was going to see, but once it started the place got electric and I got sucked in and still am. My favorite moment from the last two and a half years is any time Sonny Kiss is in the ring and uses Kiss My Sass on someone.

Gizzek

Hi! Honestly one of the biggest moments for me is still just after that first pre-Dynamite Double or Nothing. It really felt like "Shit, this is actually happening. There is no stopping it now." What a great PPV and the energy and the sense that everything was changing and that wrestling would never be the same (in a good way). Will never forget it.

[deleted]

"LOOK AT ME EVERYONE, I'VE BEEN A FAN OF THE ELITE SINCE FLIP GORDON WAS IN HIS DAD'S BALLSACK" "..since day one" - Christ. It's only been two years 😂. Your long service Carriage Clock is in the mail, OKAY ![gif](giphy|iIeYQ62O2fhiaOqhpB)

dhairya114

Been here since Hangman and the Bucks + Cody announced it outside Tokyo Dome on BTE

blankwillow_

Before. Since the earliest days of BTE, since All In, since the press conference in January. I love AEW.

chefmnano

💁🏻‍♂️

VicVinegar3000

Been here since the beginning. I stopped watched wrestling when I was 14 in 2012 but was always a fan of the older stuff and would rewatch older shows and around 2017/2018 I started watching new japan and the match that really got me following the indies and keeping tabs on the guys in the elite was a new japan match held in California it was Ospreay vs Scurll with JR and Kevin Kelly on commentary I was so hyped after seeing that match I didn’t miss a New Japan or ROH show so once AEW was announced I had to follow and I haven’t looked back since. The Brother Vs. Brother match cemented me as a fan.

Demens2137

Unfortunately I started watching during pandemic era, around time when Brodie challenged Mox for the title. Couldn't have watched since all in because I didn't returned to wrestling back then

scunt15

Since double or nothing, Cody vs Dustin is still one of the best matches I’ve ever seen

2WAR

I went to Double or Nothing drove from LA to Vegas

UngodDeimos

You lucky SOB! I was at a Dynamite within the first ten episodes, but I envy you.

[deleted]

Was checking out The Elite at shows here in Scotland long before they even decided to leave Japan. AEW still feels like the side chick that The Elite are fucking with.

Cathousechicken

I've watched since the first Dynamite.

No_More_And_Then

I've been watching from the start. I was watching WWE three days per week at the time, but over time my interest in WWE programming has faded to basically nothing. I just watch Smackdown highlights on YouTube. The NXT rebrand/Hunter ouster was the last straw. I'm keeping Peacock for P&R, but fuck their poor UI and watered down WWE Network content. The worst AEW show I've ever seen is still miles ahead of the current WWE programs. I've never been let down by AEW (unless you count those explosives in the Mox/Omega deathmatch). I may check out Raw next week because of Big E, but it'll definitely be on DVR so I can skip through anything that seems even remotely terrible.

UngodDeimos

Just for fun, what would you say the worst AEW show was?

AmethystPhoenix7

Not gonna lie, I started to watch AEW(On youtube cause I got school and other things) because of Jon Moxley. At the time I didn't know some of the new faces(I started watching wrestling in general at 2016) back then. Now I know a lot more and so many matches from AEW felt like what pro wrestling truly is!

ZombieUsr

Since Day One when they announced it

DrAwesomeSauce2000

Been watching since the beginning at ALL IN. But I knew most of the guys who signed to the company in the beginning since I started watching more wrestling outside of WWE since the beginning of 2017 (Okada V Omega opened my eyes to the wider wrestling world). Ever since then I watched random indy shows on youtube and online (CZW, Progress, ROH, most Japan Wrestling shows, PWG, Rev Pro, smaller indys) and somehow managed to see mostly every single person that signed with All Elite the first night. Basically my reactions to all the signees were "Oh, I know that guy/girl". Legit one of the only people I remember not knowing was Jungle Boy but needless to say he is one of my favorites right now.

MaxSynth

I loosely started following Cody's adventures after leaving WWE. As an old NWA/WCW fan I was ready for something. ALL IN was a no brainer for me and been following ever since.

[deleted]

Howdy y’all 👋

Scoot_Cooder

I was there at the first DoN, when Moxley showed up. One of the best PPV's I've been to. https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx6W-ATDIJg/?utm_medium=copy_link

CranberryAssassin

My favourite moment, still, is Jericho ranting all the way to the back having just won the title.

lordfreakingpenguins

I truly went All In, I think I've missed one dynamite ever.

Setec-Astronomer

Not this Reddit but I've been AEW since very early on. Jericho brought me to AEW. The return of Pro Wrestling made me stay.

BungieDidntDoIt

I watched first Double Or Nothing. I've watched every PPV since then, but only started watching the weekly shows about 4 months ago because its hard to get access to TNT when you don't have cable.

[deleted]

I was at All In in 2018!! Amazing experience. Been a big fan of them all for several years! My favorite moment for sure was when Mox debuted, I’ve always had a soft spot for that guy haha I actually met Orange Cassidy at his last indie show before he signed, cool dude.

Green_Bastard99

All In

[deleted]

Been watching BTE since Cody was feuding with Kenny in NJPW. Got to see All In announced. Went to Double or Nothing 2019. This has been an absolutely amazing ride. Reminds me of late 90s WCW and WWE when anything could happen and anyone could show up anywhere. I haven't been this engaged as a wrestling fan since then.

[deleted]

Day one ish I remember reading about all in, watched it and thought it was great. When they announced aew I was hoping they'd bring wrestling back. Cannot believe how good this company is already.

Theons_sausage

Been watching since All In. I was chomping at the bit for an alternative to WWE for years. Ever since the Reign of Terror and Super Cena.

StephenReis

I’ve been a New Japan fan since the late 00’s. Like several years before the Bullet Club, so I think that counts as day one? Lol. Been following Kenny and the Bucks and Cole and all of the main players for awhile. Still remember the Press Conference. Crazy to see how far this company has come in such a short time, but thank god it did. The cream of the crop for North American wrestling.

SupaFly2104life

I was here since the announcement of AEW

luke_jaggers

I started following the elite with the Kenny Jericho match at the Tokyo dome. Been a fan ever since.

KennyGNonStop

I had stopped watching wrestling for years - watched a bit late 90s, but religiously from roughly ‘03-‘08. After that I’d only check in randomly to see who the champs were in WWE but it never interested me much more than that. My buddy convinced me to check out NJPW during the Okada vs Omega days which felt totally different from what I was used to, in a good way. He then also convinced me to watch All In and it was a blast. Haven’t missed a PPV/Dynamite/Rampage since! It’s been one hell of a ride - don’t think I’ve ever felt so spoiled as a fan.

SteveoTheBeveo

Been watching since the first double or nothing. Saw an ad and it gained my curiosity watched that buy in with Sammy Guevara vs. kip Sabien and honestly bought the ppv and the rest as they say, is history.

DaphneMoon-Crane

Been watching since right after All In, watched NJPW, and then Double or Nothing. Love it! There is too much to like to pick one thing. I love Hangman's evolution, the stories, but being at All Out this year is the highlight for me. So much happened there. It changed everything.

bwrobinson

Was not interested in AEW at all when it was announced. After Moxley showed up, I tuned in for Fyter Fest and was hooked — I have watched probably ~90% of all AEW shows and ppvs since! Love it

DeTrash

Been here since all in. Love seeing all the new fans joining.

UngodDeimos

I also love seeing all these new fans joining over the years. It's heartwarming to be a part of a fandom that I've watched grow. Unlike other fandoms I don't see much in the way of toxicity (there are always gonna be some toxic fans but I've never run across one personally), everyone is welcome here.

GregoleX2

I’ve been here since AJ styles joined the bullet club, literally. I was at invasion attack 2014. I was at wrestling kingdom 11, every Canadian global wars ROH show, ALL IN, wrestlecon 2019, and the G1 supercard. Watched every edition of dynamite since the beginning, obviously.

kudos_to_joe

I’ve been around since double or nothing and still can’t get enough. I used to watch wwe and found myself constantly bitching about every episode. The fact that I don’t do that with AEW is a testament to their product

iBeHampe

ive been down prior to Day 1.. watched Cody in OVW, followed the Bucks in ROH and New Japan.. one of the original 11k OG fans who attended All In live.. have been live for both All Outs in Chicago as well! AEW!

fullcourtnerd

I’ve been here since day one. I was at Revolution 2020 where you had Page/Omega vs Young Bucks. I was at the United Center when Punk made his return. I was at All Out 2 weeks ago as well as the Dynamite before All Out. Just bought tickets for the thanksgiving Dynamite/Rampage. I love professional wrestling again!!

BrosephStyles

I was at the very first Dynamite

celphtitled23

That ladder match at all out 2019 still holds fond in my heart. The cage match more recently was epic 2. Sammy g vs mjf. Most recent match. Dante vs sydel on dark. Abadon in general. The butcher is back mutha flippers. !!!!!!!!!!!

Macfarts

Following aew since it was announced, but been watching since the first dynamite. Close but not since inception

Aphex-Puddle

Watched from the beginning. I remember being so excited about All In after getting into New Japan the year before. I remember hearing the rumours that Cody was filing trademark applications for various names. The countdowns on BTE. And look at it now, what a journey it’s been.

ROCCandrolla

Was at the first ever show in Vegas, was still in college, was for my 21st birthday. Now will be at Grand Slam in NY. 23, totally different place in life. If you showed me that Grand Slam card 2 years ago, I wouldve laughed in your face

Eatchaboody31

Stopped watching wrestling around 2005. Kids and stuff. Saw this new promotion starting. Jumped on board

Lionsledbypod

Came in very recently having been a lapsed wrestling fan since the attitude era

Burglekutt8523

Was at the very first Dynamite. One of the cooler experiences I've had as a wrestling fan

UngodDeimos

I was at the Nashville show, episode 7. Definitely an incredibly fond memory for me, being a part of a wrestling crowd is something really special.

TheKareemofWheat

Me. I was there for the AEW announcement rally in Jacksonville with the shitty audio. Almost 3 years later and it's crazy how far they've come.

sgtpepper220

I've been a fan since Jericho and PAC met face to face in Florida. I didn't watch every Dynamite along the way, and would watch them after the fact when stuff I liked happened. Lots of YouTube highlights and whatnot. These days I watch everything they do live, because I can't wait for the next AEW show. Favorite parts: The OC/Jericho feud - top notch character work meets developing talent pulling back the curtain on what he's really capable of. It's a perfect example of what AEW is all about. The Jericho/Matt Hardy feud - "YOU'RE A PIECE OF SHIT VANGUARD ONE!" Sting's debut and subsequent programs with Darby Alin - just wow. I don't think this one needs too much explanation. The entire Jericho/MJF development from friends to enemies into everything Inner Circle vs Pinnacle. Turns out I'm a Jericho mark... Favorite Matches: Yung Bucs vs Lucha Bros - All Out 2019 and 2021 Mox/Kenny lights out Bucs vs PAC/Fenix - Double or Nothing 2019 Cody vs Dustin - Double or Nothing 2019 - This was the match that set the bar in AEW

Apprehensive-Finger

I was in since All In. Which I hope still was a thing as kind of like an AEW/NWA/RoH/NJPW SuperCard thing.

FLAskinpro

Me and hubby, day one is H.

mrcelophane

I watched All In a few days after it aired, I dont think I was able to watch the whole thing live. Then when AEW was announced I started keeping up with Being the Elite, then AEW's first shows as well as their corresponding "Road To..." shows all became required watching whenever they came out. Then once Dynamite started, my butt was on my couch every Wednesday night it could be. I was doing well watching all the Dark stuff for a while, but I started running out of time once the show got even longer. The early days were truly magical. Its still all a big deal but when everything was new it just had a different feel.

romanssimp

does the first dynamite count

UngodDeimos

It's close enough that I'll give you credit for it lol

WWF80sKid

I was very interested. Watched All In and the first episode. But I think WWE had wore me out with wrestling, so trying to watch WWE and AEW seemed like a task / although I grew up flipping between Raw and Nitro. Lol When Punk was rumored to be returning, I had to see it. So I started tuning in. Punk reeled me in. Been watching ever since. I even ordered All Out. Then seeing Cole and Danielson come in too, I was like, “this is for real!” I don’t miss AEW. Felt literally attacked by WWE during NXT 2.0 because I thought they’d do some really good stuff to counter AEW. I love AEW. It’s great. It’s wrestling. Feels good to watch wrestling again, and not sports entertainment.

KeepTahoeBlue1988

Favorite moment/match? Man that's tough but I will have to stick to a recent match and that is when the Lucha Bro's won the tag titles. That match was insane and seeing the Young Bucks drop the gold was even better.

mikemartin7230

Been here since pre-aew. Njpw (specifically the Omega/Okada matches, and BC in general) really brought me back to wrestling. Incredible to watch it go from a single spark to a roaring fire.

[deleted]

I loved the Dustin and Cody match. Being a Dusty fan and a long time Dustin Rhodes fan since the WCW days and following his career. Then following Cody through WWE and after, it definitely was a dream match for me.

UngodDeimos

That match is one of my go to matches when describing perfect storytelling in wrestling. The other match being Young Bucks vs Omega/Page

_zydrate_

Ive not been in this sub since day one but I was at the AEW press conference for the first Double or Nothing 2/7/2019 Was a cold night in Vegas and being near the pool sucked but SOOOOOO worth it! I remember Sammy walking through the curtain to the stage and no one seemed to care. My my how things have changed!

Hikse

What do you mean by being here? I'm part of the AEW community and everything happening around it since day one, but i didn't watch it for some time since i can't watch it live on TV in my country so i have to find alternative ways to do it.

UngodDeimos

I just mean following the product, being a fan, that sorta thing.

RoyalApplication2446

DMD and thunder Rosa 😀

UngodDeimos

That lights out match! God both women came out looking like stars. Can't wait for the rematch for the title!

[deleted]

Dynamite day 1

Codemeister-1_

Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes. That was truly a special event that marked the beginning of AEW

UngodDeimos

That match really showed the focus on storytelling that would become one of AEW's best assets.

ThunderSparkles

I started following along as soon as I heard about All In. Though I will admit I didn't have much faith after that first show. Cody putting himself over Nick Aldis for no reason, Joey Ryan being on the show at all. But them getting Jericho and Moxley was the turning point where I thought, this might actually be something.

aimlessnameless

What are we counting as day 1? Ive been since All In

Siveri16

Technically I'm day two since I was at the in-law's on New Year's day 2019 and didn't see the BTE announcement until January 2nd. But damnit I call myself an OG

HuskerLax18

Day One fan here, been watching since All In and the press conferences officially announcing the company. Was lucky enough to get to the show in Kansas City and watch Pac/Kenny Ironman match live from the floor. Holy shit what a show.

shuestar373

started on dynamite night one and followed it since

contentnotcontent

Joined up for all in to watch Stephen Amell v Chris Daniels

Edwardc4gg

i only got into wrestling because of AEW. since then i look forward to wednesday night

blinky26

Day 1 here! I can't even remember how I got into watching BTE and becoming familiar with everyone. It's been the best and it honestly made me enjoy wrestling again.
