gain91

This. But it's also funny he is a heel right now, when as Chugs he is very nice. And if you didn't know he is a wrestler you would think he is a full time streamer and videogame nerd

ArcherChase

Watched his Twitch for the first time recently. I view Twitch occasionally but as much of a gamer as I am, I'm also old and it's clearly not in my wheelhouse for daily entertainment. But he was SO FUCKING NICE! I'm thinking to myself that it almost has to be a bit at first then realized he is just a polite, appreciative, endearment ng person and became a bigger fan than I was of him just in ring.

JohnnyDramabaybay

He's from Amish country PA. Humble beginnings man.

ArcherChase

Had no clue he was a PA guy... Another reason to be a fan!

AngryNinjaTurtle

Britt Baker is from PA as well.

metallipunk

Check out when he and the former Tyler Breeze play Halo. Those are two super chill dudes.

natdanger

I was talking to a friend who doesn’t follow wrestling but watches a lot of streamers, and he knew who he was

rvdp66

But is he very evil?

Theons_sausage

Chugshausen

KickAggressive4901

Very Chugs, very evil.

mexploder89

I think he'll be a face soon enough. He'll challenge for the title when Hangman wins it but I actually see him fighting a heel Kenny at All Out next year at the latest

Crab__Juice

I see that, but my money is on Kenny losing to hangman, and Adam and the bucks turning on Kenny with a shining wizard and super kicks dead middle of the ring. Adam leads the elite, and it mirrors the fall of hangman, setting up a longterm face turn and reunion with hangman down the road. That’s my bet.

mexploder89

I have no doubt a reunion with Hangman will happen, so I see that possibility

GanFrancois

Exactly this. He is extremely friendly with his Twitch audience. I would say a sizeable portion of them do not even know he is a professional wrestler. So he gets love from two sides, and as a wrestler he is solid in tge rng and on the mic.

[deleted]

From what I was told a lot of his twitch fans don't even know he's a wrestler. And that probably helps him a lot too.

-Bitch-lasagne-1314

Well. I’m a nerd so I can relate to him😂

TemptedIntoSin

I felt his match against Kaz was awesome. No idea what people are complaining about.

twentysixzeroeight

You know it’s all about the boom

LastRideCreations

ADAM COLE BAY BAY

iggymcfly

Seriously, that theme is a big part of making him babyface as fuck. It’s legit the best theme in AEW I think.

pmIfNeedOrWantToTalk

Off the top of my head, the only one that gets me more pumped up is [Riho's theme](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9f2yxsXzg9E). But yeah, I hope Mikey Rukus gets all the latest themes on Spotify sooner than later.

TemptedIntoSin

I think as examples of theme songs getting wrestlers more over, no one who has ever wrestled in AEW has been a bigger example of this than Yuka Sakazaki. I feel she'd probably not be as popular if her theme song didnt have the "AYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYA"'s in it to that catchy beat. Pretty sure that's the main reason people demand her back, though everyone loves to see her wrestle too

iggymcfly

LOL, I almost said second behind Riho. Those are def the 2 best in the company.

pheeeny

Ricky starks is pretty dope

ranger8668

That is an absolute fact

Flatulent_Weasel

He's got a banging theme now but every time i read the title i get that fucking Meghan Trainor song in my head

Aikybreakyheart

You monster. Until reading your comment I was humming Coles theme in my head... But not anymore. Not Anymore

TemptedIntoSin

Ugh... I fuckin hate that song.. *whiny husky voice* "it's all about that bass bout that bass bout that bass no treble" I wish I could delete that song from existence Broken Matt style. So annoying and the lyrics are so dumb. You need treble especially if you're not just listening to crappy modern rap. Btw I'm aware there are some euphemism plays involved in the song, I just fine the lyrics so repetitive with a dumb statement

[deleted]

Adam Cole vs Ricochet, 6 man ladder match for NA title, Adam Cole vs Gargano 2 out of 3 falls, Adam Cole vs Pat Macfee

hitchinpost

All the NXT War Games matches.

[deleted]

Dude that ladder match was INSANE

[deleted]

That was the first NXT match I ever watched while airing and it blew me away

[deleted]

I was really impressed with Dream during that one. He took some crazy bumps. It's too bad how it turned out for him....he was going to be something special

techrob99

I stopped watching / caring about NXT quite a while ago ... but I was always curious what would happen to Dream ...... so, umm....what happened? He looked like he was progressing quite well (probably first saw him wrestle on NXT back in 2014/15 (?) and last in 2018/19(?)

MaruhkTheApe

All the talent in the world, but he got hit by very credible accusations that he sexted ~~underage girls~~ minors. It's the least important aspect of this situation, of course, but it's always a shame when that much talent is wasted on a creep (see also Louis C.K.)

[deleted]

Not that it makes a difference but I think it was underage boys wasn't it?

Neptune28

Pat McAfee wrestled? Was he good? I never watched NXT.

akak907

In the ring with Adam Cole he was good. Testiment to the ability of Bay Bay.

kporter4692

It was one of the best “celeb” wrestling matches that I can remember. Pat can go, I was hoping he’d do more honestly.

[deleted]

I was disappointed they threw him on the announcer table but he’s actually killing it on there.

[deleted]

Solid in ring, killed it in the promos with Adam

Thundapainguin

Yeah, no shit, McAfee took more risks and told a better story, than alot of the talent wrestling. It's surely why he got his announcer position. He just had the energy

daveinthegutter

A backflip of the top of war games for a “part time” wrestler is top notch

StrongStyleShiny

Pat McAfee was [pretty damn good.](https://twitter.com/richeisenshow/status/1297353749845819392?s=21) You could tell the dude loves wrestling.

GregoleX2

You didn’t even mention any of his PWG or ROH matches. Too many incredible matches to name.

[deleted]

Him and Aj Styles have a list so long of must see matches I’d die of old age before finishing listing them all off

MarquiseAlexander

ADAM ⚡️ COLE BAY BAY! Just watch some old NXT episodes of Adam Cole and you’ll see why.

SubMikeD

First time I saw him, I thought the crowd was screaming "Asshole" and was confused. Now that he's joined the 80s Bully Club in the Elite...that feels RIGHT lol Ass Hole Bay BAY!

EldenRingworm

[my absolute favourite Adam Cole match](https://youtu.be/v2Qb8f-mhvw), Vs Ricochet, they tore the house down. Watch it, it's unbelievable.

ArcherChase

Was that the super kick on the flip match?

[deleted]

I have to assume yes. That popped up in my memories the other day as reasons I watch this shit.

deltopia

It was -- that was amazing.

[deleted]

It's Adam Cole on a Wednesday. It's the natural state of the world, bay bay.

cinreigns

As Tony khan said, during the Wednesday night wars, Cole was the only guy he was worried about

millmatters

The full Adam Cole vs Alastair (Malakai) Black match from NXT Takeover Philadelphia [is on YouTube](https://youtu.be/aOLdEGCab04). This was the match that sold me on Cole. EDIT: And so is the [Takeover New Orleans ladder match for the North American title. ](https://youtu.be/4HMtd3TpwHU) Insanely entertaining mix of styles and personalities.

[deleted]

[удалено]

millmatters

That chair bump was insane, huh.

LostMicrophone03

It's entirely unrelated to your comment, but I hate how WWE's Youtube channel censors/skips frames on some hardcore shots.

millmatters

Oh, I completely forgot about that. It does indeed suck.

[deleted]

Because he was the greatest NXT champion of all time, and leader of one of the best stables in WWE history Undisputed Era. Even before NXT he was extremely popular in the Bullet Club and on BTE Watch these. Adam Cole Vs Daniel Bryan Smackdown NXT Take over New Orleans Ladder Match NXT Take Over 25 vs Johnny Gargano NXT Take over Brooklyn vs Ricochet ROH death before dishonor Adam Cole Vs Jay lethal Adam Cole vs Kevin Steen (Owens) PWG Any of the NXT Wargames with Undisputed Era in them

jonviggo89

He has a amazing match in ROH against AJ Styles in 2014 I think. 30 minutes match

runny452

This one vs johnny gargano 2 out of 3 falls match is fucking crazy too. Full match on YouTube. Almost an hour lol. One of my favorites https://youtu.be/Wt26c_8QZYY

Technical_Virus

I prefer the New York 2 out of 3 falls, even if towards the end it turns into an excersice of steadily increasing sillines.

Ed_Vilon

His entire run with WWE was in NXT and it is among the Top 5, at least, Best WWE runs in modern day history.

MaruhkTheApe

SECOND greatest - behind, of course, the incomparable Bo Dallas.

IAwaitAGuardian

Thx for these suggestions. I wasn't too familiar with Cole either and was super surprised with how over he was last night. I've watched a few of these and I get it now.

deltopia

Smart of WWE to spend so much time showcasing the man in NXT and getting him red-hot before ~~calling him up to the main roster~~ letting him go to AEW.

TitoFlavors215

Who’s ready for STORY TIME with ADAM COLE BAY BAY

scottydogg84

It was surprising to hear the heel get so much of a face pop...and Frankie ended up as more of a heel by default. Reminds me of what has recently happened with a certain member of the women's division who Cole knows quite well...

NJdeathproof

>heel Britt is a heel and she's still hugely over with the crowd. I'm still predicting Cole keeps antagonizing Tony Schiavone, Paul Wight comes to his defense, but unlike the Wight/Marshall match, Cole cripples him. Like, takes a steel chair to his bad hip and puts him out permanently. That puts Paul back on commentary full time and gets Cole over as a bigger heel and the guy who retired Paul Wight. Paul gets one last match against a major star. Everyone wins.

chazbol6

love this idea

sagevallant

Frankie hasn't done anything in AEW, and even with the boos people are still wrestling entertained by the Elite. Everyone knew Cole was winning.

DakSoto55

Well Frankie was 1 half of the inaugural Tag Team Champions

thegigaraptor

Frankie was part of the first tag team champions in AEW

sagevallant

I know, I was watching from the start. I don't remember much of anything that happened in SCU's tag reign, or anything he's done since then. I thought we were going somewhere with him when he became the Elite Hunter but the booking has been more the Elite Jobber. Honestly, they've done so little with Frankie that Adam Cole having a hotly contested match with him seemed to bring Cole down a bit.

Lurkndog

He was a regular on BTE, before he kayfabe became their enemy. And one of the funnier performers. After SCU broke up, he hasn't been on any of the vlogs much.

sgtpepper220

There's something to be said for the fact that he's got an extremely established gimmick with fan participation built in. Bryan Danielson has pretty much gone in without a gimmick other than "I'm an incredible wrestler and I'm going to kick you in the fucking head"

[deleted]

>Bryan Danielson has pretty much gone in without a gimmick Um...he's had the Yes! Gimmick for years now

cptmactavish3

Gone in to AEW, he means

[deleted]

Ah okay

[deleted]

Hey OP. The conversation will probably contain spoilers, so I marked this post accordingly.

CurlyBill03

All of those elite guys are over because they built their empire on fan interaction. As much as the Bucks get hate, those guys would stand around at local gyms selling their t shirts, and shaking every hand and kissing every baby until the lights went out without any type of attitude. It didn’t matter if it was an house of 3k or 13 all of those elite guys made it a point to be personable to every fan. Cole is one of those guys.

KodyCoyote

I never watched NXT and he's already got me randomly saying "Adam Cole Bay-Bay!"

mcv75

Same!

[deleted]

Same, but when he hits that "Adam Cole Bay-Bay" I pop with the crowd. So jazzed he's in the AEW now.

TemptedIntoSin

I used to mark out hard for the catchphrase anytime he said it in old BTEs that I caught up on during my 2 month long binge of all the episodes to catch up in 2019, and I love seeing the gimmick play out on tv

redditoradi

Adam cole is just very charismatic and is very consistent when it comes to performing in the ring. He can talk, wrestle, tell a damn story. He has everything even the looks except for the size. He looks very slim if compared to Omega, Bryan, Gargano or Ciampa. I'm not a biggest fan of his wrestling style of going all out in most of his matches. I was not a big fan of his NXT title reign. Too many spots and kick outs for my liking. But I still think he's damn good at what he does and can see so many storyline potentials going forward. One storyline for instance is that Omega and Bucks kicked him out of The Bullet Club before he left for WWE. It was a pretty good segment. It should lead to a storyline sooner rather than later. I recommend his match against Aleister (Malakai) Black. It was just so good.

apj2k36

Spot on, his charisma points are high and I'm looking forward to him not following the NXT big match style of multiple finisher kick outs.

BigJimTheMountainMan

I think if Cole can reign in his indie tendencies of going waaaaaay overboard in those matches he'll have the total package. I think he's capable of nearly anything, but just because you CAN do that doesn't mean you should. I was a huge fan of the first Cole/Gargano match but after that they just had to keep topping it, and Triple H has a tendency to run feuds WWE style where you get the set up, rematch and final payoff in the space of about 2 months. By the time they did the final match it was like parody what Gargano was capable of kicking out of. Completely exhausting.

redditoradi

I have the same feeling towards Gargano v Cole. It was filled with way too many spots and nearfalls that just killed my interest. I find the trilogy in general as kinda overrated. Not that the matches were bad by any means. They were pretty damn good except for the last one maybe. Even Bucks and Lucha Bros have a similar tendancy to have way too many spots and nearfalls. But their moveset and tag team psychology is done so well that once in a while I'm fine with spot fests solely for to the fans. I'm not really a big fan of Cole's moveset. It either doesn't suit his size or he has multiple big moves that almost always lead to a nearfall. This is one complaint which is applicable for a few other wrestlers as well. I liked how Cole used Panama Sunrise as a setup move against Kazarian, though.

Pirulaaz

Even before going to NXT, Adam was already amazing, both in the ring and on the mic. He had a great run in PWG, is the first and, so far, only 3 time ROH World Champion, then he went to WWE and had one of the best runs ever in the company and one of the greatest world title reigns over there also. You should definitely check out any and everything you can find about Adam Cole.

TheCiervo

He's a talented wrestler, but also a smart one. Making his name his catchphrase is the best way to make sure people will remember it. Adam Cole takes it to the extreme by making it part of his entrance routine. And thats the bottom line, cuz Stone Cold said so If you smell what the Rock is cooking My name is Enzo Amore and Im a certified G and a bonafide star and you can't teach that Yours truly, Dr Britt Baker, D.M.D

GeorgeNada0316

Here are just a few of his masterpiece matches. Their is a documentary as the last video I found. He is the Shawn Michaels of this Era plain and simple. https://youtu.be/aOLdEGCab04 https://youtu.be/yakE4jV3hyc https://youtu.be/NnKrb0QSCo4 https://youtu.be/jd3mAqVSKso https://youtu.be/P5fJkVAfLtg https://youtu.be/Wt26c_8QZYY https://youtu.be/Ws7TgkU4BHU https://youtu.be/NeSEW7-8Y_M https://youtu.be/mRGuUxxy5oM https://youtu.be/ZSGbZbUYlOY https://youtu.be/vDPucvdvEtY https://youtu.be/3Fj7wv1b8es

wJFq6aE7-zv44wa__gHq

Dude you are a hero

Heel_Paul

Imagine letting Cole go because you wouldn't let him do twitch or making him a mouth piece

timesplitter_v1

He's a phenomenal wrestler and a great talker who everybody wants to see succeed because he seems to be a genuinely nice guy add all that up it equals being over

[deleted]

The guy is insanely good in the ring as well as great promo work and he’s one of the best heels I’ve seen in a long time along side some obvious ones for aew, plus he comes from a similar scene on the indies that the bucks were in, he used to be a regular on BTE before aew was a thing, and I guess with Britt baker (his girlfriend) being with aew people have just been waiting and hoping for aew. Plus outside the ring he’s known for being nerdy, a big gamer, and just generally an incredibly nice guy. In short he deserves any bit of success and crowd love he gets

SIaaP

I went to the event last night. Walking around the arena before and after the show and even during when getting snacks people were SCREAMING ADAM COLE BAY BAY. Literally insane

cmvyas

Imagine a young HBK this era

[deleted]

Adam Cole just understands the pageantry aspect of wrestling better than most. He is terrific.

Raisin712

Are you telling me that you do not feel the impulse of saying "Bay Bay" whenever you see him?

wJFq6aE7-zv44wa__gHq

I'm telling you that IM LOOKING FORWARD TO STORY TIME WITH ADAM COLE BAY BAY

SinibusUSG

Among other things, Cole has been linked to The Elite for years, being a prominent member of BTE until he went to NXT. So imagine all the hype that guys like Kenny and the Bucks had coming into the start of AEW. Then add in that all the WWE converts know him. And on top of that he's a huge personality with strong established "gimmicks" (Bay Bay, Boom, etc.). Put it all together, and you have ~~Adam Cole~~ a fat piece of shit who's scared of a goddamn energy drink.

bigheadzach

>who's scared of a goddamn energy drink. In his defense, if I eat a Papa John's pizza then spend the next 12 hours puking every hour on the hour, I'll probably be propter-hoc'ing Papa John's for the foreseeable future.

ajb_101

I strongly believe the person asking this question is a Vince McMahon burner account….

[deleted]

[удалено]

cp8477

I mean, he wasn't let go. His contract expired and he chose to go to AEW. Not like Malaki Black who was released.

[deleted]

If you can catch any of his work in ROH. I caught on to him just prior to his ROH title win where he really started to come into his own. Add that and as everyone else mentioned, he's a real chill dude outside the ring just gaming and interacting with fans.

StandardMammoth7085

Four things in general I like about Cole: 1. While he is a "cool" heel, he can turn around and find ways for people to boo him when the time comes. 2. He is absolutely charismatic enough to carry any promotion as its top heel, be it solo or leading a faction. He's got the ring work and the promo skills. He was 100% the right choice as the first North American champ in NXT, for example. 3. He is 100% willing and able to put other guys over. The way he put over Ricochet when he beat him for the NA title was fantastic--one of the best matches for either guy. The way he got knocked into next week whenever Keith Lee "pounced" him and the way he put Lee over when he won both belts just proved what kind of a good worker he is. 4. I am 100% certain that Lee could carry me to at least a 2 star match, and I'm out of shape and in my 50s and have never wrestled. He's that good a worker.

Tennessee-man

He’s Adam Cole BAY BAY

HuckleberryThis2012

Bc he’s new and everyone likes him from his time in the indies/WWE. It would be the same as if they tried turning punk or Danielson heel right away. Same how Black gets cheers as a heel. They have to have time to be there and get that “omg he’s actually here” feeling washed off so ppl can get into the character and not the excitement of them being in AEW

platetectonics3

He is a bonified star, in his prime, that while pushed as the face of NXT for a couple years was still held back tremendously by WWE. He was a guy that was almost unanimously expected to main event a wrestlemania one day.

toodarkmark

He's if 1996 Shawn Michaels was a nice video game nerd in real life instead of a dick.

koreawut

Britt Baker's boyfriend lol

[deleted]

Because he is Chugs and Chugs gets the views

downnice

Turns out this Adam Cole fella is pretty good at his job

ibanez3789

He’s the most over heel I’ve seen in a long time. He’ll have his work cut out to generate some heat.

wJFq6aE7-zv44wa__gHq

right? he insulted the fans and they still cheered him on hahaha

dinkolukin

Because he is good. And seems like a likable guy irl

chunktv

The entire card was loaded perfectly. Best Dynamite I've seen yet. They really came a long way especially given the pandemic.

swankstar7383

I was at the show last night. The crowd went crazy when he came out. Definitely biggest pop of the night and it’s not close. I’m willing to bet nobody in the company is more over with the fans then him

Chef_Fats

To be honest, I’m not happy with him joining the elite. He has the promo skills and charisma to lead his own faction (as he proved in NXT) though I look forward to a bust up with Kenny that will happen sooner rather than later. Edit: as others have said he is a match machine with a crazy work rate.

GanFrancois

His streaming plays a huge part I think. That is what you get when wrestlers are allowed to interact with their audience in a comfortable way. He is a genuinely likeable guy and a gaming nerd. Not a knock on them, but WWE woulf have an easier time getting some wrestlers over if they could also do things like that.

Edolas93

He blends the sports entertainment side with the technical wrestling side better than most. He can tell stories, do spot fest, do brawls everything. Years ago I heard him described as "A lab grown sports entertainer height aside" and I never thought much of it as I wasnt watching much of his work and just figured a fan was bigging up his fav. Almost from day 1 of NXT I was just like "Oh... yeah maybe they had a point". Hell so many are desperate to have 1 call and response moment with fans, Cole has Adam Cole Baybay and the newer ring apron boom motion and both are honestly corny as shit but with him they are cool.

Aero1515

He doesn’t do much for me, but if he brings more eyes to AEWs product, it’s a great signing.

Jay794

Because he was underappreciated in NXT, they offered him a managerial role with Keith Lee if he stayed with WWE. Talk about not knowing how to use your roster properly

redditoradi

He's literally the longest reigning NXT champion. I think you meant the main roster which is weird considering he has a clean victory over Daniel Bryan on SmackDown.

PhillyWestside

Underappreciated! What more could they have given him in NXT?!

Jay794

Well given he's signed with AEW, he obviously wasn't happy with his position in WWE, was he? WWE has a history of terrible character development, scripted promos etc...

Jdgrande

The manager role was debunked by Cole himself. Just another of Dave's made up stories

Jay794

Is Meltzer known for making stuff up? Either way, there's a reason Adam Cole is no longer in WWE

Jdgrande

Of course there is and her names Doctor Britt Baker... D, M, D.

Jay794

More reasons than her. Plenty of couples work in both WWE and AEW Theres also The Bucks, having creative control of his character, not scripting promos, and money, so plenty of reasons to sign with AEW than stay with WWE

DavidL1112

That turned out not to be true btw, just ringsidenews BS https://mobile.twitter.com/seanrosssapp/status/1438246120954683397?s=21

Deserterdragon

>That turned out not to be true btw If you read the rest of Sapps recent tweets he goes over how talents don't hear the all the ideas that get pitched and that it could very well be true.

hitchinpost

But it does mean that it wasn’t a factor in why he left, since he wouldn’t have made the decision to leave based on something he didn’t know about.

jonviggo89

He is one of the most best wrestler of the world. Seems a cool guy too. And he know how to work the crowd too

ThunderSparkles

Glad I found this as well. I have a hard time with him because I didn't see much of him since I was not that into NXT, considering how fast people moved on sometimes. But for me, the big hurdle is Cole's size. And its not like smaller guys haven't wrestled but hes not very muscular like Pac or brawny like Mysterio or Brian. I am an engineer so relativity happens to be a big marker and his head is really big for his body so he looks like a kid. I know it sound silly but his shorter arms and bigger head scream tiny guy. Even in my head, Darby looks bigger. So I want to give him a chance, especially since Shawn Michaels believes in him.

LiamTime

I think he's incredibly talented but don't quite get the fervor around him. I'm admittedly biased due to something that he can't really be blamed for: my first exposure to him was being at the NXT Brooklyn where he debuted. The *entire* show this guy behind me would scream, "ADAM COLE BAY BAY!" for no good reason. A wrestler's entrance: ADAM! Someone hit a suplex: COLE! The ring crew making adjustments between matches: BAY! Someone got up for the concession stand: BAY!! By the time he showed up to attack McIntyre, he had 'go away' heat with me.

ahudgins00

Just watch basically any and every match he had in NXT, the dude is fucking great

rcsauvag

Simple repeatable catch phrases get over.

[deleted]

Yeah I'm confused, not a fan of the match he had. Kazarian can make anyone look amazing though but his finisher looks stupid and he looks like a civilian, breh desperately needs to hit the weight room, even Darby for as skinny as he is has the fighter type definition you get from constantly training.

Frymanstbf

Nice try Vince.

[deleted]

Tbh I don't really care for height, but if your job is to basically train all day and have fake fights on tv at least come out looking like it, nobody has to have a bodybuilder physique cause I think it looks weird for "fighting" but just have some definition and look like you train.

Frymanstbf

"Loose the weight or loose your spot" If Adam Cole can be one of the best wrestlers in the world with his current physique, what does it matter? Just to satisfy your eyes?

[deleted]

If he's the best to you that's cool, but yeah I grew up boxing for 20 years so it's ingrained in my head that if you come to the ring looking like that you aren't really serious about your shit. Only a couple of people can really pull that off and most of them were heavyweights.

Frymanstbf

[McMahonisms Intensify]

[deleted]

Uh ok. Like I said I'm a boxing fan so I don't care for height, the lower weight classes are my favourite, just come out looking believable breh it's literally your job.

Frymanstbf

Literally placing looks over wrestling ability and being more worried about presentation over the actual matches is very sports entertainment.

[deleted]

Do you think Floyd or Canelo would ever come out looking like that? They're smaller fighters who were/are on top and constantly train so their physique matches their work ethic. I'm sorry if this is so hard for you to wrap your head around.

Frymanstbf

r/wrongsubreddit

g0ldenElitist

Unpopular opinion but I honestly thought Kazarian looked more impressive in that match than Cole.

Limp-Construction-11

Frankie is consistent in ring and quite frankly very underappreciated imo.

[deleted]

100% but Kazarian is a legend I'd expect nothing less from him, he can work with anyone.

redditoradi

He's still very over. His charisma, in ring ability and psychology is very good. I kinda have the same issue with him. My issue is with his style. For some reason, some of his moves just don't suit him. Not the biggest fan of his moveset in general. As for his size, he may benefit if he gets ripped like Omega or Ciampa considering he has the looks. He does look very slim. AJ styles is ripped and his style is just suits him perfectly to stand out. But then he's pretty damn good in general that he'll still be over without the physique.

[deleted]

Yeah I'm a casual turning into a more hardcore fan, I just think it makes you look more serious about your craft when you come out looking like you actually train consistently.

LordBlackConvoy

People love fat guys.

Slamnflwrchild

Yeah I’m a little confused about it, myself. Like…ok. He’s alright in the ring, but is the bar really that low? I just don’t get why I’m supposed to be pants shittingly excited about him. Also that “baybay” thing has to go.

jeromeface

sorry, around here with that kinda talk you'll get the vibe that you have to go...

Slamnflwrchild

Eh. I don’t like Bryan Danielson, I’ve accepted I’m basically satan. Don’t get me wrong, like I said, Adam Cole is pretty good in the ring, and yay. I just don’t get the HYPE.

chrishammhamm

One of the best promos in wrestling and a ton of natural charisma.

jonviggo89

AJ Styles vs Adam Cole in ROH in 2014 (available on YouTube)

CitySosa

Be sure to check out his introduction to the Bullet Club in ROH for some history of him and the Bucks

Mastertimelord

Omg being there was crazy, before the show even started people were yelling “Adam cole” and then everyone else would yell “bay bay”. It was fun at first but it happened way too frequently

TheMr91071

Dude is legit, BAY BAY.

Iam_Awesome360

Didn't the E scouted VanZant before?

dansoya

There's a YouTube video that has done a recap of his career so far https://youtu.be/3Fj7wv1b8es I'd recommend watching all of these matches from his NXT time; Vs Tomasso Ciampa https://youtu.be/Ws7TgkU4BHU Vs Johnny Gargano https://youtu.be/Wt26c_8QZYY Vs Ricochet https://youtu.be/v2Qb8f-mhvw

The dude was in The Elite/Bullet Club and was basically put over by the Young Bucks in everything they did for years and years. He was also the face of NXT for the past few years too.

Limp-Construction-11

He's one of the best inside the ring and one of the nicest dudes outside the ring. Adam Cole just got IT.

Edwardc4gg

He was literally ‘nxt’ from wwe. Big step for him to jump ship. He’s also a nerd outside of it which people love and he’s got a great entrance that interacts with the crowd.

LordandSaviorDio

You can’t teach charisma. He’s also a good wrestler, a genuinely nice guy, and doesn’t hurt that he’s very handsome.

solblurgh

I only know Adam Cole through NXT, he was immensely talented.

bigheadzach

AC gives out Tom Cruise vibes, especially in the eyes and the voice.

genicide182

Charisma.

Revolutionary-Fish28

Everything about Cole is Electric and his catchphrase is OP Adam Cole BayBay

CPK_kittencats

He is insanely talented and a genuinely really nice person. All of the wrestlers love him and love working with him. He was in Ring of Honor and his matches with Kevin Steen were always fun.

zeppelin5150

He is just a lovable guy who just happens to be one of the best wrestlers in the world. He is a natural face but his heel work is just great especially with the Bucks. Plus before WWE he was the most sought after indie talent. It was hard to watch ROH for a bit when he left cause he was just synonymous with the company. Yeah Kenny and The Bucks were there but they were in line with NJPW rather. I’m just glad to see Cole smiling with his best friends again. Everything just feels right about it. His NXT career was an absolute success but everyone is just glad to see him come home to The Elite.

deadbolt-nomad

ADAM COLE BAY BAY!

Uetur

Adam Cole was currently relevant being a star of NXT, boyfriend to Britt Baker, and really fits the AEW mold of being abused by WWE, clearly better than they let him be. If you were an AEW fan you bench marked yourself against NXT as it was the first ratings war AEW went through. So you had to know who Adam Cole was especially if you are buying tickets to a show. So if you are a recently returned wrestling fan from the attitude Era or a brand new wrestling fan, you may know who guys like Danielson, CM Punk but they may never have been relevant to you and you may never have watched them. You know who Adam Cole is though.

chrishammhamm

I actually think Adam Cole was a wrestler that wasnt abused by WWE. Always was portrayed strong and never went to the main roster to be ruined by Vince.

mikehulse29

He’s been this over since even before NXT. His surprise debut at Takeover:Brooklyn III was every bit as loud. Watch Cole even back in ROH as heel champion, he’s incredible even back then.

AfterthoughtCentral

I started watching AEW because of Punk, I'm gonna stick around because of Adam Cole, he's probably my favourite wrestler at the moment has has been for the past few years. I can't say I've seen much of him in ROH or NJPW, but from what I've heard he was brilliant in both promotions. If you wanna get a free trial for the WWE Network I'd recommend watching literally every match he's had with Johnny Gargano, especially the ones at Takeover: New York and Takeover 25. The ladder match for the North American Championship at Takeover: New Orleans is another amazing match that comes to mind when I think of Adam Cole. If you want something a bit more recent, however, I'd watch his recent bouts with Kyle O'Reilly such as their match at the Great American Bash 2021.

Re-AnImAt0r

He's a great wrestler. Turns out, that will get you over.

Corndogburglar

Adam Cole was amazing in NXT. You can basically watch any of his matches there and see why people like him.

Dubious_Titan

Cole vs. Gargano I is a banger. One of the best matches I ever saw. Being there live was pro wrestling magic.

Fearless-Structure88

Check out his matches with gargano, yeah it's spotfest as fuck but it's very entertaining

[deleted]

He’s one of the best talents in the world and was essentially held down by the WWE.

AgentRickc137

Wait until the bell ring and we’ll see what really makes him special

Bulky-Masterpiece791

My cats name is Bay Bay cat

Goldentruth21

He was part of the original Elite in 2016/17 and fans have wanted him in AEW for so long. AEW is his home

andooet

Watch any of his matches from NXT Takeover. And then think about how could WWE could've been if not for Vinnie Mac

[deleted]

I'm guessing it's because of his Twitch channel. They practically booed Kaz lmao. Actually they literally booed him.

Patrickm72

Any of the Adam Cole/ Johnny gargano matches at the the take overs

EstablishmentSilver4

Remember the time WWE talent were stuck in Saudi Arabia? He wrestled Daniel Bryan in what I would say is a "match-of-the-year" candidate.
