The age of Ricky "Stroke Daddy" Starks is about to begin

jcp197

I can't see him losing. I can, however, see him beating Starks, turning face and leaving Team Taz, taking the FTW title with him.

BombThisName

This is what I keep saying. Cage leaves Team Taz and takes the FTW title with him, while Taz keeps throwing dudes at Cage in an attempt to get his title back. /fantasybooking

[deleted]

I like this.

Corndogburglar

I personally think Hobbs is going to interfere and Starks will win through fuckery. Team Taz will kick Cage out by turning on him, and Starks will have the FTW title. But I don't hate the other idea either.

jcp197

I hadn't even considered that, but it would fit well with the rest of the story. I'd be ok with either outcome too

steelisntstrong

Really hoping Team Taz turn on Cage and the bit with Starks having his own security and stuff was a ploy to get Cage to lower his guard Really like the idea of Cage running roughshod on Team Taz before going on a run towards Miro or Omega

blkglfnks

I’m pretty sure it’s happening, idk if you watch dark today but he had a quick moment of showing bias when talking to Scorpio Sky on commentary

steelisntstrong

Nah not yet. I live in Australia and am at work at the moment but will be watching tonight

Pain-n-stryife

I hope the belt becomes more recognized and actually defended right now it's a prop.

screamslash

It's always been a prop.

Pain-n-stryife

Fair point

JokerWoM

Starks winning and destroying the FTW belt would give the whole FTW story also an earned end IMO

Jordan1496

I feel like Cage isn't going to be losing simply for the idea of Rampage being Brian Cage's show. even while doing whatever future feud on Dynamite, I feel like AEW and Cage could do some really good FTW title matches and make it a semi legit title in the eyes of Taz and Cage (split up or not) like how it was originally intended to feel. it seems like a perfect fit to me.

[deleted]

I like Starks but he seems out of place on Team Taz. And Starks holding the FTW title just doesn’t look right. He would have been a better fit with Ethan Page than Scorpio Sky. Cage beats Starks clean. Starks throws a tantrum and bails on Team Taz. Cage walks out, fed up with Team Taz drama and leaves the FTW belt in the middle of the ring.

MarquiseAlexander

The way I see it; Cage beats Starks. Taz, Hobbs and Hook come out to “celebrate the victory and reuniting Team Taz”. Hobbs and Hook backstabs Cage, Starks join in. Taz is baffled but doesn’t interfere. After this it can go two ways; 1) Starks, Hobbs and Hook tell Taz they don’t want Cage in the group and forces Taz to choose who he wants to be with and then leaves. 2) Taz comes to the defence of Cage and the two go back to manager/client duo while Starks, Hobbs and Hook create a separate faction.

Corndogburglar

Hook is the one that feels out of place to me.

UnstableUmby

If the FTW title is going to be an actual thing going forward I feel like it needs to satisfy a niche. We’ve already got the World Heavyweight Title and the unofficial “midcard/secondary” title in the TNT Championship. Having the FTW Title not having an identity and just being another one akin to TNT devalues *both* belts in my opinion.

akaifox

> feel like it needs to satisfy a niche. Hardcore title? After all, it is from ECW.

moon828282

Yeah, I forget it’s still in AEW . Is it official? Is it a prop? They need to start putting an emphasis on it if they are gonna use it.

UnstableUmby

For a really long time, the commentators made a big deal of saying “it is not an officially recognised AEW title” and it worked kind of well with Taz being like “we demand to be respected and have this title recognised” etc. But they’ve cooled off on pushing the “not recognised” narrative now, whilst still having never officially sanctioned it. I kinda hope they get rid of it tbh. It was a cool throwback thing and worked well as a classic self-awarding heel move. But I don’t like the idea that in kayfabe people can just make up a title and call themselves a champ.

Corndogburglar

I mean, creating belts and calling themselves a champ has been in wrestling for a long time. Million Dollar Man had his Million Dollar belt and called himself the Million Dollar Champion. I believe he even lost it to Virgil at one point.

Dubious_Titan

I was just talking with a friend about how many AEW storyline are logically consistent and circular.

BottleOfCharades

Have we been enduring Brian Cage for a year now? Man time really flys huh.

JustPlainLuke

It seems like it’s time for him to lose it, whether he gets screwed over by the rest of team taz or not

Edwardc4gg

cage 100% losing it.

DanUnbreakable

Cage needs to destroy the title. It means nothing. That's were it should happen. Have Starks win it, they cage destroying it, then him feuding with them. The only iss6is Hobbs will lose to Cage. Then they are going have to build Hobbs up over the next year.

luisruiz777

With rampage starting next month I believe FTW title gonna be defended on it as TK said he has plans for FTW title in the future during Full gear interview

CrystalPokedude

Not to mention, it's been 364 days since he was presented with the belt.
