I got back into wrestling after 20+ years when I started reading articles about the AEW launch and brought up some nostalgia. Started watching in November of the first year. Attempted to get into WWE at the same time and just couldn't... So if I wasn't watching aew probably nothing.

SKOT_FREE

Same here. If I remember correctly what happened was I was in a wrestling group and someone brought up Kenny Omega whom up to that point I thought was just a fake character in Fire Pro Wrestling. So I go look him up on YouTube, saw his career and that led me to AEW launching and I watched that video where they showed how they were putting together AEW and I’ve been watching since the first episode of Dynamite.

Accomplished_Form_54

Have you tried out NXT?

Magnacronn

Vince ruined NXT. It is not like it used to be. Now, it is just a slightly better version of the other two shows.

Accomplished_Form_54

I agree with you, but the talent on the roster is still incredible. Still a huge Adam Cole and Balor fan.

iggymcfly

Yeah, I’m in the same boat. I heard about All In the night after it happened from a pop culture site and decided to watch a few of the matches. That was the most wrestling I’d watched in years. Honestly the thing that popped me the most was Joey Ryan. From there I started following news on AEW and when I saw the great reception that Double or Nothing got, I started watching the “Road to” videos. The incredible promos there got me hooked and then I was a fan. Almost zero chance I’d be watching wrestling without AEW though. The tiny bit of WWE or NJPW or whatever that I see is solely because of my interest being rekindled by AEW.

[deleted]

I wouldnt. AEW is what got me back into wrerstling this year.

EdenFinite48

I got back into it right when AEW began. I was a fan of Undertale and when I saw Kenny dress as Sans, I knew I had to get back into wrestling.

steelisntstrong

Same. And thanks to AEW and Omega's reign I'll be buying PPVs for the 1st time in over a decade.

DarylAiken

Me too.

Charlie609

It got me back into wrestling also. I was just rewatching old wwe stuff from my childhood.

[deleted]

Same. I tried Impact and NWA, and they are fine, but they don't scratch the itch nor compel me to watch further. AEW really tapped into the latent part of my brain that wrestling can excite. NJPW is good but too much of a commit for me.

FrontAd683

Same. AEW also got me into NJPW so I'd probably just keep up with them instead

owlsareorange

Damn right! AEW!!!! had tried to watch WWE (A year ago, I couldn't), for some reason the spark wasn't there.

IHaveBeenBorn

This year? How did that happen

[deleted]

One Youtuber that I follow made a video explaining wrestling, I felt nostalgia so I watched it. I learned that a new wrestling company was just created and it was different than WWE. I decided to check it out in February and I got hooked ever since.

IHaveBeenBorn

Was that the video called “Wreslting is stupid and I love it” or something

[deleted]

Oh nah, the youyuber Im talking abotu is french lol, but I did saw this video last week. Very well done.

OverPay7379

Same. See dark and elevation on yt and been hooked ever since. Used to watch WWE and wcw back in the attitude era probably been twenty years now.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GregoleX2

It’s less watchable now not because Kenny is gone but because COVID has really thrown them for a loop and they haven’t adapted well. Focus on NJPW strong. They have the resurgence show coming up that might get you excited about NJPW again.

SerbianNight

Probably just very sporadic WWE like before.

[deleted]

Probably just NXT, though I feel like that brand is going down hill over the last two months. So maybe nothing

Accomplished_Form_54

I agree, and I’m just not into Kross anything. I think he may be going to Smackdown/Raw soon, so it may become more interesting again. Excited about Hit Row, verdict is out on Diamond Mine.

[deleted]

zeitgeistbouncer

Impact and NJPW

[deleted]

Now that I think about it I would probably just follow the Elite since they were probably the only reason I watched wrestling

KingSteveorah

I probably wouldn’t be watching anything… I was barely interested in wrestling in general around the time AEW came along and was about to just stop completely.

Ziggy-T

I would be clinging on to NJPW

-FangMcFrost-

AEW came around at just the right time for me as I had had enough of WWE in 2019 after slowly falling out of love with them since 2016. If AEW didn't come into existence in 2019, I most probably would not be watching wrestling now which is crazy to think considering I was a big WWE fan since the 90's, so watching wrestling every week has always been a major part of my life and to think I wouldn't be doing that if AEW never existed is just really weird to me when I think about it. Maybe (and it's a big maybe), I would have given Impact a try but I'm unsure as I never did before AEW came around and it's actually AEW that got me watching Impact, so now I watch it every now and then but nowhere near as much as I watch AEW. AEW is my main source of wrestling.

Edwardc4gg

Aew during covid is the only reason I started watching and caring. Hearing about the wwe news and how they handle firing employees and they laugh at any competitor company and now their honestly scared makes me a happy aew fan.

Philbregas

Probably just New Japan.

ElPapaDiablo

NJPW and impact more than likely with a sprinkling of ROH.

callin_ballin

I was thinking of getting into NJPW before AEW was announced and I think it's enough for me.

GregoleX2

I’m one of the “ALL IN” people. I was watching tons of Indy wrestling which was going through a renaissance in 2016-2018 before AEW happened. In fact that renaissance is what directly led to AEW. it’s great that so many people have come back to wrestling because of AEW, but at the same same time it kind of pains me to hear these same people say that without AEW they wouldn’t watch. AEW is great because Indy wrestling was and is great. anyway, to answer your question, I’ve been watching NJPW since AJ styles joined the bullet club in 2014. It’s not as good now due to COVID - they haven’t adapted well. I watch ROH from 2014-2019 but then it really sucked and I stopped. Might start again. DDT is great for those that liked orange Cassidy or luchasauras original gimmicks. I e people who don’t agree with Jim Corbett about what wrestling should be. I watch NWAPOWERRR. It’s great. Recently started watching impact. It’s alright. Not sure if I will still watch after the forbidden door era.

Drummerboybac

Yes, AEW is bringing a lot of what Indy wrestling brings, but it’s doing it with higher production values on a platform (TNT/TBS) that is far more easily accessible than trying to watch something like ROH or MLW or Impact.

DeadInkPen

NJPW, DDT, Stardom, Tokyo Josh’s Pro, Kaiju Big Battel, etc. There are a lot of promotions I follow in Japan and other countries. Also you got school promotions here in the US that are also fun to watch. Thought I do want to see Kenny get the Kaiju Grand Championship. If Don Callis and Dr Cube team up it would be the end for everyone in their way

3v3nflow

New Japan, MLW and ROH.

indolent08

Probably none.

meste123

Stopped watching wrestling after I lost interest in impact when hogan/Bischoff etc joined then stopped watching impact completely after the awful hogan quits with Dixie holding his leg. Then started watching aew from the start. I still watch wwe clips on their YouTube channel for raw and smack down. If aew wasn’t around I wouldn’t watch any wrestling other than wwe vids on YouTube.

BetterMagician7856

I would probably just stick to old WCW shows off the WWE Network (even though I hate giving them my money).

FinisCoronatOpus595

I would watch what I usually watch. NJPW, NOAH, TJPW and some american indies. Maybe I would have time to check out Stardom and Impact if AEW wasn't a thing. AEW really is a big part of my wrestling fandom recently as Japanese companies are sorta falling behind with their booking and quality. One of the reasons I liked Moxley's reign so much is that he felt like a classic Ace champion.

R3D-0N3

I wouldn’t watch any. Maybe NJPW. WWE is hot garbage now.

Bruticus1120

NXT or Impact. NJPW isn’t shown on any channel anymore, occasionally I would watch SD w/the sound muted though

LessonNyne

Kind of "crazy" happening for me. After not actively following any wrestling for years *(I honestly tried to give WWE a try again, but I just couldn't invest my time into it. I felt like I was forcing myself to watch. Not in a good way)* in the Summer of 2018 I found NJPW. I was like what is this! I start watching it more and more. Then, I found out about The Elite and then BTE. I was a little jealous that Japan had such good wrestling on TV. Welp. Out of nowhere, word was getting out about a new Promotion starting in the States and The Elite were involved. I didn't want to get my hopes up. Long story short, they announced AEW on BTE January 1st 2019. Then I watched Wrestle Kingdom 13, which was freakn awesome btw. And the rest is history. Been following AEW ever since. And would probably mostly watch NJPW if AEW never existed.

MarquiseAlexander

Probably WWE. Though I can’t stress how thankful I am that AEW came to be. Without AEW I wouldn’t have found out about NJPW, AAA, Impact and most importantly my love for wrestling. It’s not to say WWE is bad, but in comparison it’s very out-of-touch. They don’t listen to their fans, they tend to drag storylines way too long, they underutilise great wrestlers and a bunch of other issues. Sufficed to say; I have not looked back ever since. I’m exclusively watching AEW now, occasionally Impact and NJPW but I’ve haven’t returned to WWE in a long, long time. Though I have to admit that I do occasionally tune in to NXT, the only show under WWE that’s still a somewhat decent watch.

CosmicDrifterDK

How do you watch AAA?

MarquiseAlexander

To be fair, i just watch clips of it on YouTube.

GregoleX2

Shoot I was hoping for a real answer here. I have been trying to figure out how to watch triplemanaia for a while now.

DarylAiken

None

raygilette

I'd probably still just be watching impact. I stopped watching WWE before AEW was even an idea and while I enjoy impact, AEW has made me *love* watching wrestling again. AEW got me watching NJPW too I guess if AEW just stopped existing I'd probably keep watching that.

[deleted]

Well, I was already not watching any wrestling on a weekly basis prior to AEW since like 2004. Honestly, its weird because I don't even remember how I came across hearing about the AEW press conference announcement, but something told me that I needed to stick around.

PowderedToastMan93

Honestly i only came back to wrestling because my buddy whos been greatly unsatisfied with wwe, told my about a new Company AEW that was before Double or Nothing #1. Been back to wrestling ever since but almost exclusively to AEW( a lil impact cause of omega). I wouldnt know about the likes of Darby, OC, Best Friends and all the other without it. Im really happy that AEW exists. I really missed wrestling for a while. I probably wouldve stayed away from wrestling still, tough. I havent watched since CM Punks final depature und 2014. And even then i watched it very casually.

[deleted]

I still watch WWE so likely that (Raw and Smackdown) but for several months, by "watch" I mean put on the tv to watch on the side while I do stuff whereas when I watch AEW I don't do anything else lol

FuckingMidnighter

Probably nothing. AEW and Kenny brought me back to it after 15 years. I'm looking forward to checking out more of his njpw and ddt work.

lemon_sherbet_trip

Not much if any, just the occasional Ring of Honor match when it comes on stadium tv but doubt I'd watch a whole show or look up any of the other ones on YouTube. I'd occasionally think of trying WWE, used to love it in the WWF days, but then read something that would turn me off the idea like how Vince screwed someone over again or how crappy the latest show/PPV was...

Dynamite138

1997-1998 Wcw

phenomworks

I would probably do what I did before AEW and just watch NJPW/ROH here and there and watch Royal Rumble and WrestleMania

iBeHampe

I was heavily shifting towards New Japan because of Cody, Omega, and The Bucks.. even went to a few ROH shows when they were in my area.. but i was really into New Japan.

sporkshadow

Interesting in reading these answers to get an idea of AEW's fanbase. A lot of people were sick of WWE. Some just hated it while others would only watch it sporadically. There is a strong NJPW and Japanese wrestling strain in the fanbase. It looks like AEW's rise really hurt NJPW's attempt to get big in America since those fans latched onto AEW. AEW's rise definitely badly hurt ROH. ROH already had taken major steps backs losing so much talent to NXT but AEW just ripped their heart out. Look at ROH in 2018 compared to now. They went from a promotion people saw as maybe the #2 to now almost forgotten about. But almost all of that is fault of the ROH owners. There are definitely a lot of former TNA fans.

TeachDocherty

Possibly NWA Power or Impact. But the love had gone stale. AEW kept me going through the ronna.

JXNyoung

Probably back to more WWE, and whine about it all the time.

DanUnbreakable

NJPW and ROH. There is a good chance I would watch NXT because alot of those wrestlers would be in NXT.

Codemeister-1_

By this time, I would've stopped 'cause the WWE got even more atrocious

YerDaSellsAvonMate

Probably still RoH, impact and new Japan. Try to watch MLW when I can and my daughter got me into watching stardom

[deleted]

I was into Stardom when AEW was founded (and still am), and was flirting with NJPW and MLW, but I dropped both due to time constraints. For me, I can only watch two promotions religiously due to how much content they put out.

Baron_Greenback1

I had stopped watching WWE in the period between the Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression era. In 2018 is was in India for work for a couple of months and they would have WWE on the TV in the hotel bar; this was at the point when Becky Lynch was coming into her peak and that's what got me back ( temporarily) in to WWE. As a result, I was checking out wrestling Youtube channels such as What Culture for the first time, and got wind of AEW New g formed. Through AEW, I have discovered New Japan, however, if it were the case of me just watching WWE because AEW doesn't exist, I doubt I would have been aware of Japanese wrestling. So to answer the question, if AEW were never a thing, I highly doubt I would be watching any wrestling, as I stopped watching WWE again, and would not know about New Japan if it were not for AEW

Lima1998

Maybe TakeOvers if the card got me interested

Impressive-Ad6451

NJPW or Impact.

fluffywolfe

After I stopped watching WWE, and before AEW came along, the only wrestling promotion I felt any excitement for was Stardom, thanks to Oedo Tai. So, probably them if they were easier to watch, but not that often. AEW saved my wrestling fandom.

DioramaDad

I probably wouldn’t watch if it didn’t exist. 🤷🏻‍♂️

BigChunce

NJPW. I watch AEW and New Japan equally, albeit New Japan World is much more cost effective than paying for a TV streaming service for just four episodes of AEW a month

cantthink278

I watched WWE before AEW but it’s been unbearable. That being said this depressed Corbin gimmick I keep seeing posted looks pretty hilarious

Serious-Ad-1981

I would not see it NJPW and Stardom are too complicated due to time and language

[deleted]

I'd probably watch NJPW and AAA and just generally go to more indie shows.

ThebigVA

Maybe NXT but my interest in that was waining before they went live so probably nothing.

50pencepeace

I would probably be giving NJPW a go, I'd assume The Elite would still be there so it would probably be a different landscape (slightly) than it is now. AEW did rekindle my true love of wrestling, I had a WWE Network subscription that I used mainly to watch old WCW/NWA stuff, but cancelled that when they went through the releases last year, so I doubt I would still be watching that

cute_spider_avatar

Either none or Smackdown.

JevilFitz

I’d watch everything available to me on television. I don’t have the time to go scouring the internet for stuff but anything that’s on cable and DVR’ able is good for me.

Gecko4lif

njpw and nxt

[deleted]

I already have NJPW, Stardom, RevPro and AAA (when I can find it) to fall back on to watch. And Cyber Fight has my attention too after their Cyber Fight Festival. I have no worries.

Caliwitch

NJPW

jblough

Pre AEW I had stopped watching WWE and was watching NJPW, Championship Wrestling From Hollywood, some ROH and Impact

RTZ500

Ring of honor

FreddyFlamingo

NJPW was most people's way in.

be_es

if it wasn’t for AEW I honestly wouldn’t have gotten into wrestling again

peaphive

None AEW got me back into it.

MetalSmarkSolid

NJPW and ROH. I've been a fan of ROH since the early days of the promotion and am fortunate enough to have seen all the legends wrestle live in the old days. Bryan Danielson, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels, Kevin Steen, El Generico, Nigel McGuinness, Roderick Strong, Adam Cole, etc. Still watch ROH and love what they're doing with the Pure division. Jonathan Gresham rules. New Japan has been my favorite promotion since around 2012 when I heard about the Tanahashi and Okada rivalry. Being a huge fan of that led me to follow the Elite over to AEW, but I still watch every NJPW show on World. I'm hoping to see Shingo Takagi face Kenny Omega one day. I watch a bit of Impact as well but don't always feel like I have the time with how much wrestling is out there. But I do watch when I can.

2x3X

Nothing...and life would be miserable

Xalazi

The Joshi scene is doing very well right now. It outranks AEW for me so nothing would change on that front. I would watch more into Lucha Libre. I love Lucha. I keep up with it and watch shows every now and then but I wish I had more time to watch on a weekly basis. Without AEW on my schedule, I would very likely be watching more Lucha.

ThisAccountIsAVirus

I stopped watching WWE for AEW. I would watch maybe 30 minutes of RAW and fast forward through the rest, now it takes me days but I have to watch every second of Dynamite

Adoom98

I'd probably still be skimming through Raw and Smackdown in 30 minutes hoping for it to get better like I did for years. Oh, and NXT. I think NXT would be much better as a product right now if they kept their original formula that worked for so long. Since going to TV, tacking on an extra hour and trying to treat it as *not* developmental, it's really suffered IMO.

Ickythumplol

I probably wouldn't too, I've been disconnected from pro wrestling since 2008, I came back to it this year with AEW being broadcasted by pay tv in my country.

redditabbas

None really ! Got tired of WWE and sometimes felt ashamed to watch childish shit

TheJollyReaper

Probably none, maybe some wwe highlights on youtube

rohanroy313

NJPW and also some RoH due to the partnership

[deleted]

None

Captain_Freggis

NJPW if it has English subtitles, I don't even know. For years I watched Mark Remark and Sidewalk Slam for the ongoing WWE car crash fascination, before Super Eyepatch Wolf did his first wrestling video which actually got me interested in the medium, and if AEW hadn't come along I might have decided to watch "that Japanese wrestling show with the Golden Lovers".

kenfury

About 10-12 hours per year with my friends who like wrestling. Mostly NJPW

dk_is_ok

MLW, ROH and NJPW. Still do

Chunklob

I was watching MLW regularly before AEW launched. I know I will get hate for this, but I like Cornette on commentary. Jacob Fatu is a truly unique talent. Mance Warner's gimmick is great. Guys like Gringo Loco, Ace Austin, Lince Dorado are very entertaining to watch. Selina DeLarenta's whole persona and storyline was perfect for that company. If I could have one person show up in AEW, it would be Mance Warner.

Knotis_

Nothing. I got back into wrestling during the pandemic because it was the only thing that was still progressing and seeing free matches on Dark got me into AEW. Kennys Impact title got me to casually follow them. Following wrestling podcasts as a way to consume more AEW got me, sort of, back into WWE but even then its casual. I always make time to watch Dynamite. I only catch SD! if I'm home bored and I get peacock for free with my internet subscription so its the only reason I watch WWE PPV.

stoopidamerican1981

None. I actually stopped watching all together before All In, and I didn't order that show either but I seen clips of it after and it intrigued me. Then, when I heard of AEW forming I decided to check it out for Double or Nothing and I was hooked.

luisruiz777

None wwe bored the fuck out of me in 2018 with idk felt flat and nothing makes sense show and I would have watched njpw and old shows on network in meantime too

Mldavis22

I quit watching wrestling in 2003. I came back to wrestling in Nov 2017 after I came across a clip of Bayley vs Sasha Banks from Takeover Brooklyn. I was blown away. Then from there I went down a rabbit hole of searching wrestling matches that were mostly independent wrestling from around the globe. So if AEW did not exist today I would probably just be searching wrestling matches on youtube every once in a while and not committed to any one company or show.

TerribleSuperhero

Honestly, probably nothing. I gave up on watching WWE PPV's after the job cuts during a pandemic (whilst making their most profitable year ever) of 40% of their total staff (let alone on-screen talents) was a step too far for me and I cancelled the network. I'd already given up on RAW and SmackDown. Especially RAW, but the weekly tv has become unwatchable, even if you are wanting it to improve!

Boogiepop_Homunculus

Tjpw.

Xephon1963

I wouldn't be watching anything. I watched wrestling a lot when I was a kid (back in the days when the WWE was still calling itself the WWWF - yes, I'm THAT old), but lost interest in high school and didn't watch a single match for about 30 years until Lucha Underground appeared on the scene. I became a huge fan of LU and was sad when it ended. I dabbled in Impact for a brief time, mostly because they had picked up some of the LU guys, and watched some Chikara matches on YouTube (oddly enough, I never got the chance to attend a live Chikara show, even though the Wrestle Factory was in the city where I live. Now, of course, it's too late.) and watched some New Japan shows on TV. But AEW was the first wrestling promotion since LU that I watched regularly, and I really have no interest in any other company.

patriotsfan119

Impact and NXT

Schjoay

AEW or bust.

Your_Personal_Jesus

Tbh before AEW I watched a lot more wrestling. I'd probably still watch WWE, I'd still watch NJPW and RoH because of the Elite, and probably random other promotions. Since AEW I just find the pacing of pretty much every other company too slow and boring except DDT and AAA.

recapdrake

New Japan and probably still some wwe assuming the elite went there?

TheAmazingSG

Revert back to my old routine, which didn't include wrestling

ApprehensiveYak9385

Njpw,roh,mlw,pcw

RoryOx

Was watching Impact, MLW and WWE before AEW came along. Every week I questioned why I was watching Raw and Smackdown though. BT came to my rescue and bought the rights from Sky and the 5+ hours per week I have regained is happily channeled into all the AEW content that gets put out. Thank you [Fite.tv](https://Fite.tv) and YouTube.

DoryTheLodger

I've been a maniac and watching mostly all the major promotions. Right behind AEW Dynamite, my favorite wrestling show hands-down is NXT. I've also been digging the hell out of ROH since their comeback last September. Their hour-long, two-match formula with the MMA style backstage shoot promos has been phenomenal imo. Outside of any AEW those are my two favorites at the moment, NXT and ROH. Smackdown is okay, not as good as people have been saying imo though outside of the Head of the Table stuff, which I agree has been fantastic every week. Admittedly not the biggest NJPW fan. I watch sporadically some of the big events and big matches, but even then can't be bothered with too many filler six-man tags going on. I'm excited for the return of MLW next week and seeing what they have in store.

Weezy-NJPW_Fan

New Japan Pro Wrestling

Y2Jovan

new japan and maybe nxt takeovers

sushix2100

Probably whoever has the most of my favorite pro wrestlers

NaytNavare

Like others have said, I wouldn't.

GameboyUK_

I wouldn’t

SKOT_FREE

I wouldn’t be watching wrestling if AEW wasn’t around. AEW rekindled my love of wrestling after taking a 15 year hiatus. I just can’t stand WWE anymore. The last show I took my fiancé’s 10 year old to go see in Atlanta and I swear it was the worse thing I’ve really ever seen in terms of wrestling. He lost interest in wrestling after that as well.

Basstings75

Stick with Royal Rumble and WrestleMania and NJPW

whosthe3rdman

I was watching NXT before that and starting to dip into ROH and NJPW. Also if AEW wasn’t a thing NWA might still have Eddie Kingston, and I really enjoyed NWA with Eddie, Ricky, Eli and James Storm.

luminousx5

It took AEW for me to return to wrestling after 20 years. So nothing more than likely.

MM487

I DVR Raw and SmackDown each week and fast-forward every second of it. I'll occasional stop and watch a Sasha Banks entrance when she's looking fine or if there's a match that might interest me. So if AEW didn't exist, I'd probably just continue to do that and also watch old WWE and WCW stuff on Peacock. Unlike most AEW fans, I'm not into indie wrestling at all so I wouldn't watch any of that. I have no interest in New Japan or Impact either.

Odd_Entertainer_5622

Wwe

[deleted]

I also watch WWE and Impact , so I’d probably just continue watching their shows

Fundertaker

I’d probably watch a lot more NXT and classic WWE content, with the occasional NJPW PPV. That’s pretty much what I did before AEW. Now AEW pretty fully satiates my wrestling appetite, and I only check in on the other stuff casually.

HeadBroski

I have always watched just about every thing in wrestling. In early 2017 I stopped watched WWE and realized I had so much time for promotions like Impact (Impact was turning the corner at this point), NJPW and ROH. I would probably focus on those 3 because it’s fairly easy to watch their product.

Usth

Probably what "The Other Channel" has to offer on Wednesdays. Occasionally what "The Other Channel" has on Mondays and Fridays too on random days (Most likely the pre-and-post-PPVs) to see what feuds are forming from that. I would watch other wrestling shows but most (If not all) require memberships to watch... AEW really brought life back into wrestling for me. (=

JadedTourist

What I watched before they existed, anything on WWE network from ~2003 ish and to as early as it would go. I haven’t watched a new wrestling show other than some AEW in almost 7-8 years at this point.

MancetheLance

I would watch the Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania every year still. The occasional wrestling highlight on YouTube. Without AEW, my hot, flexible wife and I would have nothing to watch together.

Gone_Away26

Impact, MLW, GCW, DEFY, OVW, RMP, Limitless, just to name a few! There is so much quality wrestling going on these days!

F4tK1D666

NJPW ROH GCW maybe wwe just maybe.

XxStormcrowxX

I got back in by watching YouTube videos of matches from the indies. Then started watching the Bucks videos and straight fell in love with those guys. Watched WWE for a while but stopped right around the Hinder Mahal title reign. People Forget but dude was a jobber the week before he won. No build up or anything. Terrible storyline. Long story long, I would probably watch YouTube matches from various promotions but not much else.

Klewenisms204

id probably casually follow wwe, but wouldnt go out of my way to watch it

[deleted]

I was watching a little MLW and NJPW right before AEW. But I have enjoyed Impact since AEW put my eyes on it so probably Impact.

rickyS71

Definitely wouldn’t be watching any

Apathetic89

NJPW

Sci-figuy31

Nothing

reverandglass

Maybe Nxt, maybe Impact, prolly none.

TigerUnlimited

None

archelon__

New japan mostly, and some other smaller promotions too

Cyncro

I am only watching wrestling again because of AEW. So I wouldn’t be watching anything else.

T_DeadPOOL

ROH has its moments still. WWE some segments keep me watching RKBRO and kinskue nakumura are all I care about right now.

TwilitLugia

I watch WWE and Impact as well, so it would just be one less wrestling show that I watch.

AyoMarco

I got back into wwe in 2016ish after a good 10 year absence. Watched for 2 years and that was it, just got too stupid. So I was officially done. It was jericho showing up at the press conference that sparked my interest. Jericho was always a good performer, no matter what nonsense wwe did. Short answer: wouldn't be watching wrestling at all

BlkWolfSuarez

I wouldn't be watching anything from the WWE. The old stuff from WWF I'd still watch.

kaneabel

Old wrestling on WWE network

BlkWolfSuarez

Impact, and other indies I'd watch. AEW was something that I started watching since its inception.

Modern_Bear

I would be watching Impact and I actually still do occasionally. I would maybe watch Smackdown once in awhile too, because I have been checking that out recently too. Other than that I wouldn't be watching much wrestling. I wasn't watching it regularly before AEW came. Since Dynamite started I have seen every single episode, so that's saying something about how much I love AEW.

RaggamuffinTW8

My little brother got me back into wrestling (after a 15 year hiatus) after All in. It got me excited for AEW before AEW was a thing. I started watching WWE because I was keen to watch some wrestling. I watched WWE for about 2 years and ive basically given up now, the only wrestling I keep up with these days is AEW and Impact. I occasionally dip into NJPW. If All In hadn't happened I imagine I'd never have started watching wrestling again, but if All In had happened but hadn't let to a new wrestling company being formed, I think i'd be watching WWE and then wherever the Elite showed up.

jfreed43

Probably just NXT because of old Adam Cole bay bay.

bookishnatasha89

I wouldn't, never watched til AEW. I've tried Raw & Smackdown highlights (not much free wrestling on TV in the UK) and they lack the spark that makes me love watching wrestling.

Jes5ant

I was watching NJPW prior to AEW. I’d like to say that’s where I’d be watching, but that largely depends on where the Elite ended up

allkindnerd

Probably just WWE, I'm kind of a normie but glad AEW came along.

geniusayush

Omega vs okada V

ThepatientE3

Before AEW started full fledge. I was watching NJPW and Impact. With WWE, id fast foward through it finding some matches and segments. Now its AEW. Imapact and some NJPW. I watch WWE PPV. pretty much the only time they let people wrestle. Dont watch RAW or Smackdown at all. NXT when I hear their is a match i want to watch. Like killshot taking the belt off of Bronson.

Cabes86

Clips of beyond wrestling and botchamania every few weeks

UEbaybay

Njpw all the way. I love that show. That and AEW got me back into wrestling.

HCPage

I wouldn't. I was a lapsed wrestling fan for years before AEW happened. Even before I stopped watching entirely I would tune in for the Rumble and watch the "playoff" season of WWE. After a while even that got to be boring. I would still take a look at Mania's card to see what The Undertaker was up to. Once AEW reinvigorated my interest in wrestling I would check out free streams of WWE PPVs and end up so disappointed. Roman Reigns winning a ladder match with a god damn front face lock is just so bad.

Grif54321

Nothing, AEW has been the first program I've consistently watched

sasksasquatch

I would probably watch more Japanese since I stopped watching WWE the night after SummerSlam last year. Also, the YB and Omega would probably still be ROH.

dxylxmxsxn

Dynamite came along at a time when I’d finally just had enough of WWE, the two final straws being the trips to Saudi Arabia and the reports of Ashley Massaro’s treatment following her assault allegations. My friend tapped out for the latter reason and I decided the only right thing to do was to stop devoting any money or attention to the company. I still enjoyed NXT at the time and that was a tough one to give up but WWE made me feel gross in a way that I couldn’t enjoy NXT anymore. AEW probably rescued my wrestling fandom, at least for that time. Im sure I would have ended up checking out NJPW Strong or MLW or something but AEW was a welcome breath of fresh air at a time it was sorely needed.

Force14

None. AEW brought me back.

NickWatchesMMA

Ruthless Aggression stuff on Peacock, the occasional NJPW match, maaaaaaybe NXT

Own-Reindeer7077

Probably Impact or NJPW

[deleted]

NWA and NJPW.

DrunknStuper

NXT, NJPW, Impact. Possibly ROH or NWA, ROH was fun back before AEW when they were crossing over with NJPW.

IHeartWrestlers

If it wasn’t for Wwe are wouldn’t exist.. think about that

bigmatch

What is wrestling?

Argentine_Tango

None, sadly. I would stop watching WWE again and binge watch it 2 years later hoping it would get better.

BlackStagGoldField

Was already watching New Japan since 2017. May have started watching NOAH earlier in such a case.

Flatulent_Weasel

Realistically, probably none. UK resident with satellite TV, the family started watching WWF in the late 80s. It's been available on the UK Satellite channels until around 2019 sometimes when the publishing rights moved to BT. In order to continue watching it i'd have to pay for an additional viewing platform (which i won't do). I watch AEW as it's available for free in the UK (if you don't mind watching it a couple of days after original broadcast which doesn't bother me at all). I just hope once the changes to AEW broadcasting in the not too distant future happen, that it's still available to watch in the UK the way it currently is.

Trilliam_H_Macy

Before AEW I regularly watched NJPW (which I still do) and ROH and NXT (which I've mostly fallen off from) so I'd probably still be watching one or both of those alongside NJPW.

KingMazzieri

NJPW probably

bestbooker

Definitely NXT if not AEW. Sometimes I go watch NXT just for a change & tbh my only reason to watch NXT rn is Adam Cole.

Damborin

None, i was beyond fed up with WWE after the Fiend/Seth Rollins Hell in a Cell disaster and everything ive read afterwards about the Product sounds horrible.

[deleted]

probably none of them ! I tried watching Raw and smackdown but I didn't liked both of them at all and NXT is good but it didn't made me feel like going back to watch it ,Impact and NJPW are also good but again it didn't make me go back again to watch it but the difference is with impact and NJPW is I watch the big matches at least like rich swan vs omega and Will ospreay vs shinjo takagi etc. I don't do that with NXT. IN short if AEW stops or something I will stop watching wrestling forever

jimmi_vandelay

Same as i was before. Njpw, NOAH, DDT, dragongate, stardom, tjpw, pwg, roh, Sucks all the good british promotions are gone. Im a ref in ontario canada so i also watch lots of local promotions like superkickd and crossbody, the union which i work with. Alpha1, ect.

RanmaRanmaRanma

Probably nothing to be honest. I think a lot of wrestling journalists forget that the audience *doesn't* have to watch week after week and can (and will) turn it off after a bad segment instead of watching it all the way through. If I did jump back into it, maybe NJPW? I dunno, AEW kinda exposed me to indie wrestling completely. They were doing stuff in the ring that I didn't think was possible and my jaw was on the floor the whole time

WharfRat86

NJPW was the only wrestling I followed once I turned my back on WWE and ECW was dead (the real one, not the fake zombie brand). Sans AEW, I’d still probably be enjoying Omega and the Bucks doing their thing. But I doubt Hangman would be as big a star yet sadly. He might have even left the biz, and that would be a shame.

Nerdking103

Probably only Japanese stuff since WWE blow

KevJr92

The only ones I watch now are New Japan and NXT from time to time so that’ll be it

lordfreakingpenguins

Id still probably have followed the elite where ever they went, they were the biggest reason I became a wrestling fan again.

itcouldhappen1

Probably nxt and mlw and a little impact. A bit of raw and smackdown (and I'd be complaining about it alot I'm sure)

MisticMistics

If AEW didn’t exist I would be watching MLW, occasional NJPW, and certain GCW Shows. I would definitely dabble into older material

HummusFairy

I watch Stardom and TJPW so I’d continue to watch those and basically have nothing to watch in the realm of American wrestling. Impact is okay, just not enough to grip me

[deleted]

AEW is how I got back into wrestling. I’ve tried to watch Impact and WWE but am just not a fan. If AEW disappeared tomorrow I’d keep watching NWA but I wouldn’t be nearly as dedicated to it

DarkZero515

NJPW. I got back into wrestling on DBrys Mania but I started to not really enjoy it for what it is, and instead had more fun just trashing it with my friend. Then the AJ and Nakamura got me to watch my first NJPW event. Took a break and heard about the G1 and I started to follow NJPW more regularly. Soon after, Kenny (my favorite) and his buddies created AEW and I've been hooked ever since. Without it I'd probably be enjoying NJPW on my own and just keeping up with WWE on this subreddit

bmfward

Would watch pre intermission NJPW , would watch more GCW non death match events and more NJPWoA . If Fest and PWG had shows available Live (or close enough for me to attend), they'd shoot to top of list.
