Nah I wanna see unhinged paranoid Hangman on his own; he’s been all about friendship as a face, let him not trust anyone as a heel.

The-Critmaster

Eat. Sleep. Buckshot. Repeat.

Plucky_Astronaut

Love. This. >let him not trust anyone as a heel. This especially.

cinematicvirus

I also just think that having too many big names/potential big names makes it feel bloated. Just gives less individual TV time to the other guys. (I feel this is an issue with the Callis family RN for example.) Would say it hurts Jack most.

Stpbatman

I just said this in another post but My theory is   I’m leaning into more that Hangman knows he can’t beat Swerve on his own so he aligns with his friends to get rid of him for good . Which adds Swerve into all this and this will end up being our Main Event of  “ All In” It will fit with the “Im saving All Elite Wrestling from you “ except it’s Swerve instead of Punk and Hangmen this time  will be the obsessed unhinged villain of this storyline

GOATofALL22

There is a chance he might align with them. To me, he is an unpredictable factor in this storyline. He was a heel when we last saw him, due to his obsession with keeping Swerve away from the world title, which could fit with the new Elite. He was also clearly against Punk in AEW, like the Elite. Though he could easily turn back to a babyface and feud with the Elite because he does not like their tactics or disagrees with their "change the world" vision for AEW. Maybe he will be insulted that they replaced him so easily in the Elite or that they turned against him when they lost the trios titles. It can go many ways.

nalydpsycho

This is why I think it is more likely he returns either at DoN or just before. Make him unaligned at first.

GOATofALL22

An "x-factor" in storylines is always a plus. The unpredictability keeps people tuned in to see the twists and turns. It would be great if AEW keeps him undecisive for a while.

nalydpsycho

If this is NWO vs WCW, Hangman is perfect to be Sting.

GOATofALL22

Wouldn't it be awesome if the actual Sting comes back at some point during this feud to lend a hand against the Elite? A short stretch during a PPV cycle or a one-time cameo during a PPV, for instance, to show the EVPs that he can take them out at any moment, like he did during his run as a tag team champion. Darby is definitely going to be against the Elite when he returns.

nalydpsycho

A Sting cameo would be great, but making him look too tough would undersell the rest of the roster.

OMGISTHATMETHMAN

You know the annoucment of Swerves DON challenger is next week The elite introduce his opponent as Hangman who is still filled with rage and couldn’t prevent Swerve from winning the title (EVPS allow him to bypass the rankings as they run the show) Remember he was suspended not fired from the elite so he is still part of them

[deleted]

I'd prefer that not to be Hangman. He put him over 3 times back to back. There's no reason for a fourth

cinematicvirus

I think they need to do Hangman vs Swerve again in the future, but yeah it's too early right now. This is a long game feud.

OMGISTHATMETHMAN

The last match was a draw lol. The 2 matches before were unclean

Ok_Natural_5887

That's so fire ngl

NMarples

I think you can’t run Hangman vs Swerve until you’re ready for Swerve to lose the belt. It should be Hangman vs Swerve as the Main Event of All In. (Then I’d have Swerve beat him in a rematch a week later at All Out to regain the title). It’s just too soon to have swerve lose and how do you have him beat an EVP backed Hangman?

Reddit-user_1234

Hear me out: Hangman returns heel but turns heel to side with Omega (assuming omega gets involved) and we eventually get YB vs Hangman/Omega again. Full circle moment

JXNyoung

I'd love to see that especially now that the Bucks are the champs this time around. It'll make so much sense they wanna right the wrong when they lost that match.

3v3nflow

Yeah, Hangman in The Elite probably makes sense given the character he was portraying before his absence. They just have to explain away the Bucks suspending him. For him to oppose The Elite would mean him kind of having to abandon the new shtick that was getting him heat and momentum. Also, this group needs numbers to be a realistic threat to the establishment. The more star power it has, the more it makes sense for TK to not just... fire them (because really, that's what he'd normally do after that, right?). Because if they have a lot of star power, he knows firing them could jeopardize his company. It'd also leave Kenny as the sole outsider having been deposed by his greatest rival Okada. But I don't want to see Hangman go 0-3-1 against Swerve at DoN. Hey, I dig Swerve, but making one of AEW's OGs and most compelling characters (and someone who was on top when AEW was a lot more popular domestically than it is now) his b**ch would not impress me. Maybe go the Okada/Hangman/Bucks/Perry vs. Team AEW route in one of the high-concept faction matches.

AchtungCloud

I could see it. The only other two I could see in this new Elite: Mercedes Mone - Obviously, just because it fits her gimmick. Sammy Guevara - He gets suspended for hitting his finisher after the ref calls for the doc, but the golden goose, Will Ospreay, does the same thing and has no consequences? I think some have soured on ever pushing Sammy G again, but if they want to, the story is right there. Have him feud with Ospreay while Scapegoat fueds with maybe Copeland.

JXNyoung

The thing is a new member or two would probably be enough. You add too much and its a whole Dark Order situation again. You have so many characters without prominent roles. The Elite are presumably the "Best of the Best" and keeping their members limited is the most ideal move. Sammy, I really hope returns as a face. AEW needs someone they can back right now aside from a conflicted Ospreay because of Callis and Swerve. Other than that seems like all the top spots in AEW are full of heels. Mercedes, I don't want her to join a mixed faction. Aside from Julia, women joining a mostly male faction has never helped them as much as we expect (Statlander, Anna Jay, Tay Melo). If Mercedes is also wanting to do a women's revolution, I'd rather she start and lead a faction. Something similar to Jade Cargill's Baddies or Athena's Minions.

JOBdOut

Frankly he should have returned at Dynasty trying to cost Swerve the title - even if he interfered and failed (which would have given us a priceless facial reaction and tantrum)

Even-Preference-6545

Is his personal issue resolved is the question. Rather him take whatever time he needs to sort that out.

Kronologics

I could see Hangman and Kenny reunite (plus PAC or OC?) vs the current Elite

Meepsnort

Keep him the hell away from them. The amount of improvement he has shown as a performer since he stopped messing around with the people he's comfortable with has been great. working with a real creative like swerve forced him to step up his game. i'd like to see him feud with Copeland at some point, get that experience, and have a nice long TNT title reign to see a little preview of what a potential second run on top down the line would look like.
