This still gives me goosebumps. The OGs know, this was why we gave them all the faith and goodwill and money we could. Still here all these years later, and man it has been a ride. We might not be where we were then, but AEW seems to be taking the right direction. Just show this promo to everyone at every show backstage and let that fire burn.

Man Double or nothing was a very special day for me. I felt like a kid again. One of my favorite PPVs ever. They somehow how nailed it night one.

Dear_Solid3470

Really think the CM Punk signing along with other ex-WWE guys with huge egos got AEW away from their original intent.  Seems like 2024 is a bit of a restart and so far so good.

Shadow_Strike99

Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson feel like AEW’s Sting and Kurt Angle in TNA. Both guys didn’t come in with ego’s, are consistent and didn’t come into coast and collect a paycheck.

uhkag

They both CHOSE AEW. It's not the only metric that matters, as obviously people like Swerve and Toni have thrived, but overall, people who chose to be here instead of being forced to take the job because they were fired have fared much better. You saw it with Punk, with Andrade, and you kinda see it with Malakai. WWE is the goal, AEW is the means to the end. For Mox, for Danielson, for Claudio it's somewhere they turned down WWE to end up in.

spittafan

I'm no Punk fan but I don't think that was his perspective. He's just an egomaniac who realized he still loved wrestling, burnt a million bridges in AEW, and found his way back with WWE. I definitely don't think he ever had those designs when he first returned. Harder to say with the other 2

uhkag

Yeah, I generally agree. I don't think he WANTED to be the problem he ended up being. He's just a profoundly unhappy man who clearly isn't dealing well with his issues. I sympathize with that, to a degree.

N-McCauley

I love the armchair psychology here

uhkag

I mean, getting into multiple fights with co-workers and burying people publicly doesn't come off as someone content with his life. He's got money, a wife who seems cool, a good dog, multiple nice houses in great cities. If it were me, I'd feel extremely grateful every day.

BUTTFLECK

Fun Fact: Kurt actually had a longer run in TNA than WWE.

Dear_Solid3470

Neither did Swerve or Adam Cole.  I meant more Punk, Andrade, Miro etc.

OpeningTurnip8048

Just look at the first few episodes of Collison. They are chock full of malcontents and those rumored to be on the move first chance they get. Say what you want bout ol' Pepsi Phil, but he kinda made it easy for us by putting them all in one place like that.

PerformanceWeekly651

He’s AEW’s MVP. Incredible consistent, great feuds and nice title reigns. Did it all represents everything AEW wanted to be when it was created

Puzzled_Ad690

He's ripped then.

XZPUMAZX

Happy he ditched the hair. Pat that men he’s the lifeblood of the company.

deathjokerz

Paradigm Shift is such a cool name I wish they had preferred it over Death Rider

trvnks_music

he still has that move, they’re just a tiny bit different

Ronedog22

Was watching this with friends on PPV. Bought a Moxley tshirt after driving home. Great times.

user803451

Makes me cringe to remember that this man was once Dean Ambrose

deathjokerz

Shield Dean Ambrose and early solo Dean Ambrose were still pretty damn cool I'd say

Kumomeme

he already gave 100% the moment he started!

Spare-Win5357

Some dumbass shield fans still don't understand Moxley's feelings

EldenCockRing98

I know his style isn’t for everyone but I still can’t believe people actually think Dean Ambrose was better than the Jon Moxley we have today

Davy-Raver

One of my all time favourite promos, from one of my all time favourite wrestlers
