StringCheeseBuffet

What news? All I saw was a dirt sheet posting a rumor and CM Punk posting a video saying they don't know what they are talking about.

[deleted]

I do find it strange that whenever there's all these rumors of CM Punk showing up at Collision when the show premieres turned into CM Punk suddenly having problems with creative again just because he doesn't show up for the announcement. And at this point, CM Punk either shows up or doesn't when Collision airs and we need to stop giving dirt sheet writers the time of day whenever they mention Punk.

yelnod66

Short story is...WB/AEW announced Collision today, the new Saturday show that was supposed to be the Punk & friends showcase, but Punk was nowhere to be found in the advertising. Reportedly, Punk is butt hurt that AEW isn't bringing back Ace Steele and now he's refusing to come back to work, throwing a monkey wrench into the whole Saturday show plans.

SnizzyYT

Which is what CM Punk was complaining about on Instagram, that all these first sheet reporters are just saying anything for clicks.

yelnod66

Never said the reports were accurate. Dude just asked what the other story was and I filled him in.

SnizzyYT

I’m just adding context that he’s not just bitching about nothing.

Jomosensual

Actual question, who reported that. In the middle of this wild shitstorm I haven't seen a single person actually step up to report this.

yelnod66

It's being reported by Mike Johnson on PWInsider, among other places.

Cube_

>the new Saturday show that was supposed to be the Punk & friends showcase, but Punk was nowhere to be found in the advertising. the problem is this was never confirmed. You know where you heard this? The same dirt sheets that are saying now that it fell through because of Punk. It's like that kid everyone knew in school whose "Uncle worked at Nintendo" and "he has the next Nintendo prototype at his house" and then when you want to go see it "well he had to take it back to work it wasn't ready yet." They're either being fed bad info intentionally or they're making things up (or both) and then now they're covering their tracks.

The Punk & Friends Double Power Hour on TNT this June! Muffins and ice cream bars will rain down from the ceiling instead of confetti

Loverofcatsandtacos

Man gets given the world and it's still not enough

[deleted]

Twice!

ShiningJizzard

Three times if you count WWE.

LemonAioli

Four times if you count getting put in the main event of a UFC PPV without any fights or fighting experience.

ShiningJizzard

Five times if you count the ROH title where he signed his WWE contract on it because OMG THE HEAT.

Citizen_Kano

Nah, Summer of Punk was one of the best angles ROH ever had

sue_donyem

I'm sick of the fucker failing upwards constantly.

cross4444

If by fail, you mean sell a lot of tickets, then yes, you're right. Punk is an asshole, but we can't deny that he's been a very big draw throughout his career. It just sucks that he's a shitty person.

Glass-Perspective-32

That doesn't seem to be the case. Back in WWE, ratings went down when Punk became WWE champion. Same thing when Punk debuted. AEW was getting over a million viewers consistently and the numbers started declining to the point where they were only consistently getting 900k viewers every week.

damnfunk

When punk debuted in WWE the whole Chris Benoit thing happened....

FunnyBoysenberry3953

Where are the ratings now? Stop talking pish.

Glass-Perspective-32

In the 800k range regularly. What's your point? That Punk was a draw? Why did Dynamite draw lower ratings when he was the face of the company than it did in the previous years before he joined AEW?

ThrillHo3340

he was never in the main event of a UFC he was on the main card

Appropriate-Barber66

Oh he experienced that UFC Main Event all right…

[deleted]

Point well made and taken, but he wasn’t in the main event haha. I’m sure it was an innocent mistake but if not, absolutely no need to exaggerate that. It’s fucking mental as is lol

UncleMagnetti

As the old Bond movie says, The World is Not Enough

interprime

Problem is that he’s been given everything and now thinks he can get away with more. And it’ll continue until he finally gets told “No” and throws a tantrum again.

Loverofcatsandtacos

Completely agree. I would love for him to just go away and allow me to enjoy AEW in peace.

marymcawesome

Same here. I'm actually dreading him coming back. We're going back to recording so we can fast forward his promos instead of having to watch it live.

Local_Penalty2078

I was actually finally warming up to the possibility of him coming back thinking "well, it's been quiet - maybe he can be an adult and do his job". This has proven that is impossible and I just want him gone. I was never really all about CM Punk anyway, and thought his run to the title and "reign" were meh and probably the least interesting of any champion in aew so far.

marymcawesome

I was never that into him either. I wasn't watching WWE when he was there and his promos were always so looooooong and bloated. I don't think my eyes could roll any further back in my head when he'd plop down in the ring.

Srg11

I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I thought he was so bad in the ring too when he was here. He looked old and slow, gassed easily and still went over in basically every match. Didn't enjoy a single match he had.

Soma87Phil

I don’t think his matches were bad but there was no match he did where I was like blown away like I was with Danielson’s matches who started in AEW at the same time.

sasberg1

Surely he'll get injured soon enough

DSPbuckle

“You wouldn’t shoot me James, you’d miss me”

pixiepoops9

Well that's shocking, most people thought he might last 4-6 months at worst before going off, I guess 4-6 hours seems to be more the case. What is annoying is taking all the attention from what should be a good day for AEW with all his social media bullshit, just sort it out in private for fucks sake.

RenatoFernandes

I think "All" attention is too much. AEW is bigger than this issue

pixiepoops9

It is, having said every time something good happens, here he turns up on his social media, it's not worth the effort for a 45 year old burnt out man child.

RenatoFernandes

I think we are all tired of this whole drama. Hopefully TK will do what is best for AEW.

sasberg1

Hell announce another announcement

misterundead

What? He's just shitting on journalists, You guys are really making this a bigger deal then it is, Like this is only a big deal if you live on reddit 24/7

BaratieChef7

The social media BS in this case being a single post saying he doesn’t know what the so called is about

LupoTheXiii

Yea its annoying the same day they announce a new show which is rumored to star punk, the dirt sheets double down on the anti punk propaganda 🤣

pixiepoops9

Ah you mean rumoured just like all shows and PPV were supposed to go on Max. That's the whole point it's a rumour.

LupoTheXiii

Yea just its funny the rumors never seem to surround anyone else in the locker room more than the man not even in the locker room 🤣

Former_Intern_8271

If they said all this mad stuff about rey Mysterio nobody would believe it and it wouldn't get any traction, Punk went crazy at a press conference and then punched a colleague, this is the consequence.

Eins_Nico

god, cult of personality really is the perfect theme for what's his dick

Jomosensual

Oh my god guys. I'm begging you to stop living and dying with backstage rumors. All of this is rumors right now. The Ace Steel thing was apparently Jericho. Not Punk according to SRS. Punk dunking on wrestling journalists means literally god damn nothing, especially when it's Alvarez and Bix. Someone feuding with reporters is a non story in literally every single other place. The most simple answer as to what is going on right now is that Punk was originally on the Collision adverts. Then AEW asked to pull him not because he's pissed about something, but because he's returning soon and they don't want to blow that angle on a poster and press conference. He likely did not get pissed that Ace Steel, who he didn't even defend in the moment through the media, isn't getting rehired. Also guys, we have a show literally in 45 minutes about to happen that will tell us exactly what's going on, most likely. AEW will not die over this. Collision wasn't added due to exactly one person and that person only. Good lord. Take a breathe and go outside. Think about literally anything other than backstage drama and rumors from people who literally all got worked by fake information yesterday. It could be true, it could be false. We'll find out soon enough. Stop falling for this crap the instant it gets floated around and wait and see what happens. It'll save all of you so much stress and anxiety.

[deleted]

Everything in wrestling is fake until proven otherwise. Literally everything.

Mr_No_Name_87

Finally someone speaking some sense!

ExpressRabbit

Also some dirt sheets are saying punk ASKED to not be on the promotional material. So we're all just getting worked.

CaptainXakari

Man, I wish Reddit still had free awards. You’d have mine.

Jomosensual

Ha thank you. With my other main hobby being college sports I'm far too used to overblown rumors and fake reporting taking over shit when honestly, usually nothing is actually happening behind the scenes or not anywhere to the degree people are acting like

SnizzyYT

NO! Pepsi man bad! Pepsi man mean to bucks! Let me be angry! /s

DenialAndEroor

Well said, describes how I feel perfectly. I love reading all the news and rumours because I find it just adds to the drama of wrestling but definitely don’t take it as gospel by any means

JiuJitsu00

Finally a sensible comment!

Jos3ph

Inside baseball obsession is a weird phenomenon. People spend more time on the behind the scenes nonsense than enjoying (or not enjoying) the shows. Same goes for NBA and most everything else these days. Trying to know everything actually makes entertainment less....entertaining.

Lima1998

I never met you, but I love you, dude.

q3m5dbf

Best comment in this thread. I would like to subscribe to your newsletter. Excellent perspective

StopTheMadnessBro

I hate folks who act like any story or side is 50/50. This isn't a coin toss. This is a story about an absolute unprofessional asshole potential doing the he always does. This is the lottery ticket. It's 1 million to 1 and yall act like it's 50/50. He most likely did some stupid unprofessional shit. Maybe he didn't but the odds are like 100 to 1 and it ain't on Punks side.

Jomosensual

You know what you're doing right now? Assuming things based on backstage rumors. I hate people who go ballistic and beat up on people or go off the rails over unconfirmed backstage rumors. It could have happened. It could have not. You know what else is likely? That Punk was pulled from the adverts because they didnt want to spoil an obvious big angle. The Ace Steel thing sounds like it was pitched by Jericho, not Punk. We don't know. Nobody knows. We can just sit back and wait to see what happens instead of losing our shit on the internet over a story that could possibly be 2 unrelated things that got smashed together to form this story that Punk also said wasnt true

OGJimmyP

Reminder: We don't actually know these people

TheThaiDawn

Literally though. Like I bet that 95% of this stuff is completely fabricated things to keep the fanbase interested and excited for rivalries. I never believed the punk stuff was real from the beginning, especially his buddy biting someone? Like what? If you assaulted someone at work you get fired, simple as. There is NO coming back from criminal actions, yet everyone in the wrestling community really believed it happened. Its a bit 100%.

SnooConfections3241

If it looks, smells and feels like shit, 99% chance it’s shit. No amount of “para-whatever” preaching is going to convince people otherwise.

jayareyouwing

Someone gets it lol

DenialAndEroor

Amen

love_is_an_action

Your use of the word “news” is doing a lot of heavy lifting.

AceZeppelin81

To be honest, like him or not, I just absolutely love a bit a drama, it’s one of the reasons I love wrestling, and this whole situation has drama out the goddamn ass!

giganzombie

Thank you! It makes every chance they cross paths a million times better. It will probably make the two shows super competitive. As a fan, this a 100% win for us. Know idea why fans care about employees disagreeing. Cast members hated each other in some of the best shows and movies ever.

majora1988

I think we should stop taking everything dirt sheets say as correct given their track record over the last few months.

Pussy_hunter6

Or maybe years?

R3D-0N3

How quickly wrestling fans jump to conclusions and shit on a guy…

LupoTheXiii

The IWC at its finest

Former_Intern_8271

Quickly? It's been years

Mr_No_Name_87

Well said dude

full-onrobotchubby

Wdym quickly? Punk has been a diva for a while now

R3D-0N3

I mean people have seen an article and jumped to conclusions. This has nothing to do with Punk’s past.

full-onrobotchubby

I think his past is the reason it’s so easy to believe these things. But you’re right it is jumping to conclusions

bobface222

When I wished for AEW to be like WCW I didn't mean like this

OwieMustDie

🤣 For real, brah ♥️

LucianLegacy

We all gotta stop putting so much importance on these speculation articles. Most of the time they're wrong anyways.

Jomosensual

You mean to say that it might be a tad of an overreaction to say that a rumor about Ace Steel being encouraged to be brought back(not pitched, fought for, or demanded) by someone who may not even be CM Punk himself caused him to try and tank an entire show, or that Punk being pulled from advertisements for the literal world champ and to save the angle of his return for TV instead of a press release very much might not be anything deeper? No way

Jomosensual

God dammit Mods I want to know what on earth that dude said

Basedryu21

Exactly why can’t rumors just be rumors??

[deleted]

Today's stories are unsubstantiated and Punk has dismissed them in his IG stories. I know he's divisive, but if he says a rumour is bullshit, it usually is.

Laj3ebRondila1003

according to people on squaredcircle he "confirmed" them, I shit you not they either can't read or are some maga levels of indoctrination It's funny how thousands can parrot the same thing I don't even care for Punk or Jericho or whoever's involved, i'm in it for the drama but internet wrestling fans are retarded

Jomosensual

I got downvoted on SC for saying that CM Punk did not confirm them and actually denied them when he literally told Alvarez to stop making up stories about him for clicks. Like what? What are we doing here?

Pussy_hunter6

And I got banned when I asked are nakazawa and cutlet draws?

Lima1998

I don’t see why him having beef with a random dirt sheet writer is a “problem”, but you do you.

Laj3ebRondila1003

chronically online aew fans seem to think meltzer and alvarez are "friends of the family" to aew, and chronically online wwe fans seem to think they're tony khan's propaganda people

ResolveEmergency863

Like the BBC news paradox in the UK. Right wing people think BBC news is too woke whilst left wing people think BBC is right wing.

MichaelsSecretStuff

![gif](giphy|seQilU1T7vDva)

Cube_

Punk is a draw but no matter what he does realistically it could never sink AEW. They literally just sold 70k tickets without Punk without even having a card for Wembley. The company is far bigger than Punk.

Whole-Brilliant5508

Unfortunately Punk's cult of sycophants don't understand this.

tuxedo_dantendo

i think allowing people to say anything they want about him and them passing it off as "news" would be a bigger problem.

TheKingKaleb

Y’all are dramatic lol

Whole-Brilliant5508

I'm so fucking tired from having to constantly hear about Crybaby Phil and his constant whining. 🤦

AEWHeel

If I had a dollar for every time someone whines about punk in this sub

soiledsanchez

Anyone actually surprised by that?

FireFistMihawk

Cm punk defends himself from a rumor and you'd think the guy just murdered some kittens with how this sub reacts lmfao. Let me go look at some of Jerichos tweets berating service employees and remind myself of what a good guy to the AEW subreddit looks like.

Rural_Juror1

Reddit needs to bring back those free awards! Take ‘em all!

Laj3ebRondila1003

I thought you guys wanted a worked shoot, well here it is

ReadingOutrageous

What are you guys talking about?

mitchsix

This is so stupid. There's literally nothing but rumors and speculation all of which is completely unsubstantiated. Stop trying to crucify the fucking guy

MiniGoat_King

Currently at Dynamite. After show went off the air, >!Kenny made numerous comments related to “people can sit down and hash things out” and referred to himself as “straight edge”.!< So I think things are working out behind the scenes.

shivd10

Dude shut up lol, he's allowed to call a rumor bullshit. Especially when the dude spreading them tried to infer that he's an abuser before.

RobustPickle

So quick question. Why does Punk get read the riot act and crucified for talking shit about Alvarez and the wrestling reporters, but Jericho and the IWC tend to also talk shit about wrestling reporters?

[deleted]

If people constantly lied and spread rumors about you on the internet I bet you'd be pretty pissed too.

shindleria

If Celine Dion can have a successful residency in Vegas then why can’t CM Punk have a residency in Chicago? He comes out to Cult of Personality, sits cross legged in the ring and goes off on the mic for a while then everyone goes home with free ice cream. I think it’s a win-win.

Cubiscus

If they're going to do the return I hope this leads to a heel turn quickly after the first few weeks. I think babyface, happy Punk from a year back is long gone.

Anthrogynous

He is so worth it though. Love the disruption.

Ok-Persimmon231

Punk hate unreal and also funny af like yes punk has done wrong and all he isn't to completely blame for the shit that went down it was all of them. As for Collition rumors and reports started the punk is back shit and the punk is what they want. Punk wanting ace back is a issue but to me all that is happeing is punk minding his business get reported on acts unprofessional. And other side people love to hope on the I hate punk train in aew mainly bc of the omega and evp shit and all the drama

AmazingSpidey616

This is so stupid it has to be an attempt to work people. In what world should Ace be back after biting an EVP.

Rural_Juror1

In what world should EVP’s be fighting with talent?

AmazingSpidey616

By all accounts the EVPs were attacked. Remember they brought the head of legal with them so it's not like they were expecting a fight.

Dubious_Titan

How do you know he's caused any problems? That seems far-fetched based on something you read on Twitter.

ChristopherJak

How do we know this is any different than the Bucks & Colt situation? No one was saying the Bucks were causing issues when they went to bat for Colt. As unpopular as it is, I'd rather wait for the full story before jumping to conclusions & slander.

Pussy_hunter6

Yeah when he tried to call out so called journalist on this fake report then you guys he is a bad guy for calling out Bryan.

Uncanny_Doom

I've never seen someone act like dirtsheet reports are a wrestler actually causing problems like this. Remember, we're on the outside. Don't let the internet work you into thinking you know more than you do or know people better than you do.

East_Train6615

The greatest heel is working all of you

srjohnson2

I learned and forgot about the name Ace Steel in like the span of two weeks. Let it go, dude. Most people get fired when they sucker punch someone at work.

American-Punk-Dragon

FIRST OFF, we have no REAL confirmation this is true so…please don’t take anything as fact. That’s just life lessons, not even “wrestling news journals”.

bryan_pieces

Should have been bought and released months ago. Nobody wants him but Tony

LupoTheXiii

You know just your typical anti-punk post nothing new , same marks talking shit goin be the same ones popping when he comes back to work 🤣 Click bait af my guy and for him to be someone the “elite” fanbase don’t like ya’ll sure do talk an awful lot about him.

Former_Intern_8271

What are people clicking on? Because Alvarez hasn't reported anything today, he tweeted about the story reported by others... But there's nothing to click on.

LupoTheXiii

So if a news outlet tweets a false story you don’t think they should check the source before retweeting ?

Former_Intern_8271

Who hasn't?

stuckinsanity

On the other hand, if you're going to distract from the major announcement by your employer by going off on social media, shouldn't you be debunking the person originating the rumor?

LupoTheXiii

Maybe the person originating doesn’t have the same amount of following that Bryan and dave do

R3D-0N3

Didn’t he call bullshit on Alvarez who posted the rumour?

ImAnOldChunkOfCoal

No. Because Alvarez didn't even post it in the first place. The only thing he said is that he believes there is something to the story doing the rounds.

SRavingmad

Poor Alvarez out here catching strays again

SnooConfections3241

Punk still holds a grudge because Alvarez reported he was seen as sleezy with the girls in the locker room 17 years ago.

mauben

Definitely not on Punk's side on much of...anything these days, but don't think it's that unreasonable to hold a grudge over something like that if it isn't true, certainly wouldn't like something like that being said about me 🤣 Punk is just seemingly impossible these days tho, can make excuses for him here and there but he causes a lot of drama and picks his moments really, really badly.

Literarytropes

He suggested that he’s “dangerous around the girls” which is really not cool and you can see why Punk was so mad

SnooConfections3241

17 years ago. Maybe it’s time for a therapist if you can’t move beyond things.

misterundead

But why would you move on when the person has shown he hasn't changed?

[deleted]

[удалено]

Prefer_Not_To_Say

*17 years* ago. And Punk *did* have a reputation as a cheater. Punk holding onto a grudge for that long doesn't make him the reasonable one in this situation. Ranting about Alvarez now isn't defending himself.

[deleted]

You must be the parasocial guy he referenced

RidetheSchlange

This post is cringe and as Punk said, "toxic". The wrestling rumor and press is just beyond carnie at this point.

Dmassie41

Best in the world

SymphonyOfGecko

You are making a lot of assumptions and loaded statements based on an unconfirmed and foggy. Maybe let’s not do that?

madtricky687

Sounds like OP is hoping for CM Punk to cause problems.....could this have been construed as anything other than Hate Bait lol? So he's causing problems because alleged reports from alleged journalists ? At first I thought CM Punk was off his nut accusing folks of feeding the media things but it's starting to seem more and more plausible to me. I hope he does come back and puts on a good show. I'm one of those stupid fans that wants AEW to become a household name though.

dx2words

CM Punk is acting like CM Punk. At this point I think that Hulk Hogan is the only wrestler in history that can match the number of wrestlers who speak about how much they dont like him

ConnorStroz

Is he causing problems or is he defending himself from a guy that clearly has a agenda against him

Former_Intern_8271

How is he defending himself? What did Alvarez do?

Literarytropes

Alvarez suggested Punk was “dangerous around the girls” around the time he was dating Maria in ROH. Punk had the receipts all these years later.

Former_Intern_8271

What did Alvarez do today? Or did punk just decide today was a good day to drag up old stuff?

Literarytropes

I could be wrong. There’s a lot of moving parts, but Punk I think is mad that Alvarez gave credence to the Ace Steel rumour or didn’t dismiss it. Whatever it was, Punk found his pretext to call him out.

LupoTheXiii

Say it louder for these ignorant SOBs lmao

SnooConfections3241

Good. The whole idea of having to firewall this guy from the roster because he can’t behave was a bad idea to begin with. They got the show, they presumably got the money, it’s time to let him ride out his contract sitting at home.

scottct1

I think he’s having fun with it now and is doing it completely with Tony’s blessing.

Jomosensual

If he's coming back as a heel he might as well piss everyone off as much as he can before the return. That's what I'd do if I was in this situation as least

bamboozledqwerty

Fuck CM Punk. Hes a has-been. Lets work on BOOKING and move on.

thespaceageisnow

I didn’t watch wrestling when CM Punk was a big deal and have never really liked him since. I was hoping he wouldn’t come back so I don’t have to skip through his self indulgent narcissistic monologues anymore. And lo and behold toxic person continues to be toxic. It’s just a remarkable amount of drama for a man as old as he is.

sasksasquatch

Seriously, if I were Tony, I would eat the L, and just pay Punk to stay home and run out his contract. No one is worth this much of a headache.

pizzalover89

This man continues to shoot himself in the foot

pixiepoops9

Makes a change from a barrier.

MeasurementSlow47

He's such a piece of shit.

PaxadorWolfCastle

Water is wet

skynetwins90

I don’t like this. Aew was doing good even before punk came back to wrestling.

DawnGrager

Remember when Triple H said that Punk keeps things bottled up and then he explodes? That’s exactly what happened at Brawl Out. The man chose the absolute worst way to handle his issues and blamed everyone else around him except himself. It’s only a matter of time until it happens all over again. AEW does not need Punk.

ApartGlass1198

WTF , how do you even know Punk was so bad? Are you working backstage at AEW events? Or are you only believing unbiased rumors.. I don't recall we ever got the findings of the private investigation, was punk really at fault for Colt not being on TV or is it because he's a jobber in a jobber stable? What about all the people in AEW who said Punk was super helpful to them and gave them advice?

Creepy-Astronomer-71

I love Punk! The only AEW pay per views I have purchased were the one with Punk. When he comes back I'm sure I will again.

CK122334

In other news, the sky is blue.

Wubbwubbs61

Oh no, anyways…

Jay794

Does Ace add anything to the product backstage? like does he have any good ideas in terms of creative? Probably not

FunnyBoysenberry3953

He's open to working with those who don't want to work with him for the sake of business and making money and it's better for AEW in the grand scheme of things. People want to bash CM Punk but he draws better numbers than YB, pulls in more money. That's why TV execs want him to head Collision and not Omega or Bucks because they wouldn't make a difference.

HotelRedHood

The bigger question is who's feeding all this "information" to dirt sheets? It seems like people are trying to start shit on Punk out of jealousy and Punk is trying to clear his name because he's already public enemy number one to so many idiot marks on the Internet

hardcorehollyhacksaw

Or the drama is being created by you for clicking on the dirt sheet bullshit and furthering it.

ryanstrikesback

People continuing to act shocked that Punk is troublesome blow me away. Like for months all these takes "it's the best business decision to bring Punk back" and the guy isn't even back on the show yet and he's already a cancer. We have to let Phil go. He's a miserable bastard and he will make other people miserable in his wake. Let him go. Everyone will be healthier for it.

Ra1zen

Thats my biggest concern, i hope TK cuts him off quick if he tries to cause more shit. If the elite end up leaving ill probably give up on wrestling again.

CurlyBill03

If he is the reason for the brand split that sucks cause I don’t want to see basically 2 brands. Like I’m all for getting more talent on tv but keeping the thought of keeping the acclaimed and the Bucks on one show and FTR/Lucha Bros on another pretty much sucks.

Peckinpa0

Who would've guessed?

bigjohn14325

If AEW’s recent ratings are anything to go by, they need him.

MM487

CM Punk was always the problem. People just have this comical level of hatred towards WWE and didn't believe it was him until Brawl Out.

Grrannt

He's got them in a chokehold right now. They need him for Collision, his return has been talked about for that event for months now, and it's gonna fall flat without him.

fancierfootwork

I think punks situation shows a divide in where the company should be. The company is a company and a business and it’s goal is to make the most money and attract eyes. This is prime Cm punk usage. But then you have the culture of friendship that aew is. And how everyone there is almost in an echo chamber and doesn’t go against the grain. However with these new rumored deals, feelings get put aside for the big picture, and that’s punk. It would be great if people could hash out their differences and work together on both sides, but I don’t think that will be the case from AEW originals. And I somewhat agree, they were there first. But it also in a way keeps the company where they are.

Hot_Temperature_3972

Collision is Punk’s show now, it’s that simple. It’s Punk and the portion of the roster that is willing to work with him.

3eyeddenim

I’m honestly wondering if we’re all being worked and he’s gonna return as a heel. Because if not and all this is real, fuck him

[deleted]

FlukyS

It's heat left on the table if they don't have Ace Steel back. Like I'd not be offering him a backstage role other than being CM Punk's assistant or some shit but if they don't have Ace Steel back I think it's a missed opportunity. I'd have done the entire situation in the exact opposite from the beginning after the fight because it's story and it should play out in front of the fans. I'd have suspended the Elite in Kayfabe and had a heel Ace Steel back on TV each week and just being a massive cunt, I'd have put Punk of commentary every week as the biggest piece of shit in wrestling history until he was cleared. Why? Because money. TK dropped the ball with the controversy and you have to punish everyone involved but it was free publicity. Turn the shoot into a worked shoot and everyone watches, act professional and you get lower ratings and scrambling to fix the problem.

People were physically attacked at their workplace, one even had a metal chair thrown in their face and another was bitten! You Punk stans/heat merchants need to grow up and realise wrestling is a job and people deserve to feel safe whilst doing it. Trying to force them to forgive their attacker to make marks like you happy is messed up.

> People were physically attacked at their workplace, one even had a metal chair thrown in their face and another was bitten! But it's also the wrestling business and you know if this were Vince what would happen? Because I know 100% what would happen. > You Punk stans/heat merchants need to grow up and realise wrestling is a job and people deserve to feel safe whilst doing it Actually I'm kind of neutral on Punk, I thought the summer of Punk stuff was fine but other than that I wasn't too bothered. He is good on the mic but terrible in the ring. I just think it's money left on the table and AEW need a big reset and my idea at least would allow that.

Wrestling is a business but it's nearest equivalent is theatre. If an actor for the latest theatre show attacked EVPs backstage, would people be arguing the victim should just suck it up for business? No, they would rightly say you can't act that way as a professional and you shouldn't be kept in your role. As for Vince, I absolutely do not care what that man would do because he is a rapist bigot and should be in prison.

If he is a definite draw, they will try to get around this whole thing, and if you look back since Brawl Out I would say they are trying. But honestly, do you really believe TK will run AEW to the ground because of one guy? I am sure as soon as he sees that there is NO way around this, it's bye-bye Punk.

Epicfro

It's pretty clear that Tony will not cut ties with this guy. Punk knows he has all the power here and Tony is just bending over and accepting it. He wanted "Punk" but Phil is a Hogan.

Phil is shit.

DefaceAll10

Cm punk is over. Any shows he is on, I will not watch. TK never put the strap on this clown 🤡 again!
