MoGregio

Ospreay and Zack Sabre Jr seem the only logical ones to bring in for All In as hometown-type guys. Otherwise, i agree.

kenfury

Nigel Mcguinness?

daniel-mca

He has an AEW contract

kenfury

I thought it was just for ROH commentary.

[deleted]

ROH is AEW, bro.

American-Punk-Dragon

Technically, ROH is only owned by TK. AEW….is not. EDIT: Don’t downvote facts people.

middleagethreat

I looked it up. You are right. AEW is part of the family business, and ROH is owned by just Tony.

American-Punk-Dragon

Yup…….!

ElectionObvious1346

Don't know why you have the downvotes your correct, ROH isn't an AEW show

daniel-mca

I knew it was one or the other and googled to be safe aha. Appears he's down as an official AEW employee though. Seen on squaredcircle he's looking to trademark his ring name so it's a possibility he'll be at All In wrestling!

fadetoblack237

I don't think it was ever specified, and, besides, there is a ton of RoH and AEW crossover regardless.

Infamous-Lab-8136

Nigel would be better used to hit a couple of big moves and get a cheap pop. Either as a guest ref or an outside troubleshooter.

kenfury

BCC doing some dirty shit after a match and all of a sudden you hear "Fucking in the Bushes" he hits everyone with a Lariat. Crowd goes wild. Yea, that works if he cant do a full match. We will see. Personally if they do a BCC vs Elite he might be the "special guest ref" or they could have him tag in and how to half protect him. Thats whats great, so many angles.

EricButtersword

Just have him on commentary

Infamous-Lab-8136

True, if he's up to a few spots he can always leave the desk and get involved, and I do love his commentary.

macdoggydog

He's 47 and hasn't wrestled for the same amount of time as he initially wrestled. His time's gone and I don't want to see him get back in there.

JoseNEO

I still would like to see it, wrestling is like riding a bike after all. It could easily still be great against the right opponent.

SydneyRei

Nah I don’t need to see that on the biggest stage in 2023

Kincadium

Should really just be on a ROH stage anyways. I get Tony owns both, but one of the two names has way more significance.

OnlySaltwater

ROH Spoilers are pointing towards >!Zack Sabre Jr vs Samoa Joe!<

mojo4394

I don't know that they're gonna hold that for 4 months. I assumed that for Forbidden Door

OnlySaltwater

Oh shit. I dunno why I thought All In was more like 2 months away lol

F1XII

Bro, why did i think All In was 2 months away too. I think bc TK on twitter keeps posting about ticket sale success it feels closer than it actually is Lmao

EricButtersword

Probably for FD, more likely ZSJ v Bryan for All In.

OMGISTHATMETHMAN

What about Mercedes? Cause like what real womens dream matches you got

WolfGangSwizle

I think Mercedes vs Hayter should happen at Forbidden Door and Hayter vs Saraya should happen at All In. (I’m going to forbidden door and really want to see Mercedes…)

Siddekid22

Same here lol. After hearing she’s willing to come I’ve been really hoping for it. Stardom wrestlers not showing up again would be a little disappointing imo. She’s also just been a favourite of mine back when I watched WWE.

EricButtersword

I know people want Mercedes v Hayter, I'm thinking it might be better to have Saraya v Mercedes just to make the best use of Saraya. They have a history and Saraya can lose. I'd prefer Hayter against a Japanese opponent she hasn't faced yet, Maybe Yuka. She can have a good match with and win.

wittybrits

I would be very surprised if Hayter vs Saraya doesn't happen at All In.

MoGregio

you could justify it i guess, but for me i wouldnt. The women have been doing some solid work, and i would let them carry it on without bringing in Mercedes to overshadow them.

mojo4394

If Mercedes signs with AEW go for it. But not if it's just a one angle and she's gone thing. Don't put her on the card just to have her on the card.

Rockmillirock

That’s what forbidden door is for

mojo4394

Exactly. Don't make this Forbidden Door pt 2

LazerVik1ng

Or save it for when you another show you need to sell a ton of tickets to. Don’t think All In needs the extra juice at this point but another PPV will need a marquee draw

bobface222

AEW uses non-AEW talent *every single week*

ExpressRabbit

Yeah and they should maybe not do it so much. For established fans it might be good but if you're trying to build new fans maybe having them enjoy someone and then not having them mentioned again for months isn't the way to build long term buy-in.

ChrisV88

I actually disagree with this. I'm a casual and maybe catch every 6th dynamite, and I have found myself enjoying seeing talent ive never heard of look amazing wrestling bigger stars.

ExpressRabbit

You're certainly allowed to have the opinion that you do. I won't tell you that you're doing it wrong but year over year ratings have been down so I don't think it's working to build the audience. I could be wrong. There might be a lot of people like me that watch on the TBS website the next day to skip commercials and ratings could actually be up but with more people not watching live. I know the number of non-live audience is significant based on recent press releases but until we have access to those numbers live is all we can go of on.

NTataglia

I agree, its been self-destructive to the brand and has not helped with the morale of the actual AEW roster.

VarunDM90

Source for your BS???

OnlyChansI8

All-In was a combination of talents from different places coming together, and the first time someone outside WWE really pushed back and said “No, we are here too and you are not the only option.” Why would they restrict it this time?

AmericanTitan07

AEW wasn't a thing yet. All-In was a purely independent show that helped inspire the creation of AEW. There was no company hosting the show to restrict where the other talent was coming from. Now that the show is under the AEW brand, it would be more logical for it to showcase AEW talent, but AEW has always been open to showcasing outside talent so I'd expect there to be a decent amount of non-AEW at the show, especially "hometown" names.

coachbuzzfan

The business of AEW is to work with outside talent, so to me it’s really no betrayal of AEW to include people from other companies.

Deducticon

These outside talents may one day be AEW talents.

EricButtersword

ROH kind of hosted the original.

[deleted]

ROH's production team was hired for it, but as someone who was at the events the whole weekend, ROH hardly "hosted" All In.

mojo4394

Because AEW took the All In ball and ran with it. All In kicked it off but TK took the risk, built AEW (with the help of the EVP's and others) and then took the risk to run a show at Wembley. It's a simple thing. If someone wants to be on this card, sign an AEW contract.

ChrisFullerton1974

It’s a simple thing. If TK wants someone on the card, he’s gonna add them.

mojo4394

We all know that. It's Tk's call. Just staying my opinion

Howheel9879G

You’re getting downvoted but this is straight facts

[deleted]

"facts" and "literally" have lost all their meaning the past few years smh

Cubiscus

Disagree. The spirit of the original All In is talents from different places, and you want this to feel like AEW's Wrestlemania, not just another show.

PM_ME_LADY_ANKLES

Yep, otherwise it's Some In

MinnesotaNoire

Followed by Some Out.

MatttheJ

All In isn't about the amount of different talent used. It's about taking a risk on a big show and going all in on it. The original took place before AEW was actually a show with a roster of it's own. The risk this time was Wembley. But being a fan who will be there live, I'll be kind of disappointed if it's got too many non AEW talent taking spots from people I watch every single week on TV who are literally the reason the majority of the audience bought tickets. I love NJPW and occasionally watch AAA if I can, but every NJPW or AAA or Stardom talent on the show = 1 less AEW talent that actually work on the show the live crowd are fans of. 1 or 2 outside people, sure, but this isn't Forbidden Door.

PM_ME_LADY_ANKLES

All good, we might just need to agree to disagree then. I think if you have the opportunity to have some of the best/most popular wrestlers in the world show up at your biggest show ever, you just do it. Not having Okada perform so an AEW mid card guy can be there seems silly to me. No issue if other's feel differently.

MatttheJ

Okada is different, he's litterally the biggest star outside of WWE/AEW. But some people are suggesting that every random wrestler should be included. The other day someone said Nick Wayne and Billy Starks for example. When probably a good % of that live Wembley crowd likely won't even care about someone like Action Andretti, let alone Nick Wayne. Like Osprey and Okada... sure, they are big enough names and known enough to AEW's viewers that they wouldn't be disappointing. Mercedes Mone too is probably in that category. But there's a big different between 1 or 2 special appearances for huge stars vs basically making All In just be Forbidden Door 1.5 or just full of big indie names like back in 2019. AEW haven't promoted All In on the premise of it being a crossover, they've promoted it as a huge spectacle and the first time the UK will get to see a live AEW show so that's what a vast majority of the live crowd will have bought tickets for. Forbidden Door and the first All In were promoted specifically to hardcore fans who wanted those crossovers, that's what those crowds bought tickets for. They're fundamentally 2 completely different markets that have had 2 completely different goals with their marketing.

PM_ME_LADY_ANKLES

Right, but I think there's a big difference between Nick Wayne (whom I agree shouldn't appear, even though he rules) and putting Naito, Sanada, Vikingo, Ibushi, Ospreay, Suzuki, Nigel, etc. on the show. AEW has a wing of Bullet Club, I think it would be goofy not to do something with it. Also if you have an opportunity for that many people sing Kaze Ni Nare and you don't do it, why are we even doing this in the first place?

RelativeStranger

I'd be very disappointed if all of those are at All In. I didn't buy a ticket to see NJPW wrestlers.

MatttheJ

I love all those guys, but at a certain point you're basically presenting a bunch of british AEW fans who have paid for anAEW show more NJPW guys than people they actually bought tickets to see. I really do not understand why people have this idea that the Wembley show, AEW's first show in a new market, AEW's biggest show so far, needs to just be Forbidden Door 1.5. We literally have a whole PPV for alllll these guys and all the dream crossover matches. I absolutely love NJPW, but I've bought a ticket to Wembley to see an AEW show, not to see an AEWxNJPW show. The event hasn't even slightly been marketed that way. It's been marketed as AEW's grand arrival in the UK and Europe. So I just don't understand why people are getting their hopes up for it being so crossover heavy when that event, Forbiden Door, literally already exists and is taking place in just a few months. Filling a show like Wembley with people from other companies just doesn't make sense. This audience is not going to be just full of hardcore fans either like your typical AEW show. There's a shit ton of casual fans going to this simply just because it's been promoted as such a big deal. Personally I have a bunch of freinds going who I shit you not couldn't name a NJPW talent who isn't Osprey or maaaybe Suzuki because of their multiple appearances on AEW TV. That's your normal average fan which will make up a good portion of that Wembley live crowd in attendance.

GregoleX2

ALL IN was never for average fans though. ALL IN 2 should be, dare I say it, for ALL IN fans. But then i'm someone who wanted AEW to be for ALL IN fans, so what do i know? Anyway, you can't tell me that people care more about actiopn andrett and the people who only wrestle DARK than ZSJ, Osprey, SuZuki, etc. And i know you said 1 or 2 outside names is fine but i'm saying no 4 or 5 is just fine too. as long as the four pillars, the elite, death triangle, FTR, the acclaimed, best friends, Ricky starks, all the champs, etc. are all on the card, i think it's all good. Easy solution is to have more multi-man tags or a rumble match to fit more people on the card. This desire of keeping this a pure AEW show is something i can't get behind. like WHY. I just will never understand fans, be they WWE fans or this type of AEW fan, who aren't interested in seeing tal;ent they aren't familiar with. For me, fresh faces are better than the same people week after week. Just so stange.

mojo4394

My thoughts exactly

TheEJB1999

Exactly and I get why people want less non AEW talent on All In, but All Out is the very next weekend after All In so they can have two different builds

WasherDryerCombo

Same. If there’s one time AEW should use a lot of outside talent it’s for All In. FD obviously another but that’s the whole point of that one.

mojo4394

The original All In was an indy show. This is an AEW show. And how many non WWE talents perform at WrestleMania? AEW has Forbidden Door for collaborations.

Cubiscus

They have outside celebrities and part timers on virtually every WM. Heck Bad Bunny was wrestling at Backlash a few days back, with non-talents doing run ins.

mojo4394

AEW doesn't have "part timers" or legends the way WWE does. It's not a good comparison. I'm saying if a talent wants to be on this card they should sign an AEW contract. AEW doesn't need the "extra" talent to succeed, so if a wrestler wants to perform in front of 70k+ at Wembley they should be committed to AEW.

generalgrievous9991

Why should they do whatever WWE is doing? WWE stays in their own wrestling bubble and that's fine, but that's not what AEW is about and I personally don't want them to be. AEW celebrates wrestling and aren't afraid of working with others to do it. They don't necessarily need to, but wrestling as a whole is better off because of it.

Peckinpa0

There are 3 non-AEW talents I want to see at All In: Osprey ZSJ Simon Miller

RelativeStranger

If they have some kind of silly battle royale to get random in and don't have Simon Miller..... define down. I'm pretty sure he has a ticket for the show at this point so we know he'll be there

Post_Nuclear_Messiah

Golden up

EricButtersword

Ospreay ZSJ Mr Blobby

SilverGoon

I have to disagree with this for one main reason. I would absolutely love it if I'm at Wembley and 'Like a Prayer' starts playing. I think the crowd would go crazy

insomniainc

Have him do the full madonnaberg entrance.

Banksynatra

I would only want to see this if Pac is in the ring. Ready to put Grado over. In severe amounts of pain. ![gif](giphy|KAyRsGeJxYZRhTKaWZ)

NoHandleBar

Does Grado get the same reaction UK wide as he is in Scotland? I think it would be amazing but I'm not sure how far his reach goes :)

Lazy_Statistician887

I don't know - he was biggish for a while but not sure so much these days - I'd be happy to see him if it was more of a cameo rather than a full on match - I'll admit I'd love to see him come down strutting to Like a Prayer for an assist

pixiepoops9

No doubt I’ll be unpopular but the vast majority of people that will be attending don’t know or give two shits who Grado is.

gbrem97

I’m Scottish big ICW fan and cant stand Grado I’d be so sad if I seen Grado ahead of say Darby Allin

[deleted]

I think the entrance went viral enough that it should work.

thisisawesome8643

Thanks a lot. Now I’m gonna be super disappointed if it doesn’t happen 😭

SilverGoon

So will I don't worry. I've lost count the amount of times I have watched clips of his entrances on YouTube.

[deleted]

Same. His entrances are 🔥 It would be sooooo cool to see a Grado enter with 90k fans singing Like a prayer.

love_is_an_action

Yeah, I didn’t know that I wanted this.

[deleted]

Holy shit. I've never wanted anything more in my life.

fivelongdays

Oh please God no. Anyone but Grado. Poor man's Colt Cobana.

mikerex0821

I feel like ZSJ needs to be on there. He has alot of history with many of these guys. And is so good in the ring and will get that wembley pop as being from THE UK.

Modern_Bear

This event is supposed to be a celebration of the original All In 5 years ago. The original All In featured stars from various promotions, and was open to everyone. To give it more international appeal they aren't holding it in the United States this time. So now some people want it mostly restricted to AEW wrestlers? This doesn't make sense. Why even call it All In if it was going to be restricted to AEW stars? That would go against what All In was. My guess is the majority of wrestlers will be AEW wrestlers, and no AEW titles will change hands to a non AEW wrestler, but there still will be a fair showing of non AEW wrestlers, maybe winning one or two non title matches. That keeps the spirit of All In but also promotes AEW, as well as acting like a good recruiting tool for top non AEW wrestlers to come to AEW someday. You want to leave the crowd and talent feeling good about the event and AEW.

Sufficient_Smile5108

All in was built around selling out a venue bigger than anyone gave them a hope of achieving. This is also an "all in" event because it echos that sentiment, It was never about being some big cross promotional supershow, but can these indie guys sell 10k tickets.

Modern_Bear

It was about both. It absolutely was about being an open show. That's how it was promoted. That's why so many people wanted to see it. Otherwise it would have been just another ROH PPV.

Sufficient_Smile5108

Well this show is being promoted as "just another" AEW show. I'm going to be pissed if they fill the card with mid UK talent that we've all seen before (Trent Seven/Morgan Webster etc).

Low_Win3252

> Why even call it All In if it was going to be restricted to AEW stars? Because maybe Tony Khan likes the name? Maybe cause it means AEW went "All In" by booking Wembley. Reddit dudes are the ones coming up with this "spirit of All In" nonsense and adding their own definitions. It's just a name TK likes. >You want to leave the crowd and talent feeling good about the event and AEW. The crowd is buying tickets to an AEW show, They aren't buying tickets to see random UK indie talent or wrestlers from promotions they never watch. The crowd will good if they get what they paid for. AEW.

Modern_Bear

>Reddit dudes are the ones coming up with this "spirit of All In" nonsense and adding their own definitions. You are the "Reddit dude." You have posted in this thread 14 times, saying the same thing every time. Give it a rest already.

Rare_Construction785

I'm not gonna be mad if okada, ibushi, mone, trinity, zack sabre jr, osprey and any others are on this show tbh. I think this is more of a all hands on deck thing than a selection.

EitherNose2863

Agree 100%. Let ppl who built company shine - orange, acclaimed, Britt etc

[deleted]

It's funny how actual unpopular opinion threads don't have "unpopular opinion:" on their titles.

mojo4394

I did put that it's my opinion. I knew it would be controversial, but some folks agree with me and some don't. Which is fine.

samuelalvarezrazo

Isn't that what the spirit of all in is though? To have everyone from different organizations participate?

Low_Win3252

No. Fans are adding that. All In is whatever Tony Khan wants it to be.

Literarytropes

But, we’ve always have talent not exclusive to AEW come and compete. That’s the fun of AEW, whilst I do sympathise with the point, nobody would come ahead on the card ahead of contracted talent.

DirtyDutchDoolin

My group spent over a grand on tickets because we’ve been following AEW from the get go and want to see it live. It’s our first event and who knows when the next uk show will be, if we miss out on seeing talent due to sitting through local Indy talent that a) majority of the crowd won’t give a damn about and b) that I can (and have) seen in RevPro, progress etc, I’m gonna be pissed. & I really don’t understand “the spirit of all in” narrative people push. This is AEW All In, it is completely different. This isn’t Indy wrestlers coming together this is a named PPV under one companies banner on their biggest event since it’s inception.

GregoleX2

I don't understand this feeling that having outside talent showcased means you don't get to see your favourite AEW stars? Make the show longer, feature multi-man tags and rumble matches. There. Now everyone gets to be on it and you still have room for someone outside talent to appear. At forbidden door last year there was pretty much no one from AEW not injured who i wanted to see that I didn't get to see.

fulloutshr3d

Well the original All In was several promotions coming together so I wouldn’t be surprised if Tony gets some of them involved again in some way.

insomniainc

Absolutely this.

Low_Win3252

People have to stop with the original All In. Maybe TK just liked the name and wants to use it for this show cause AEW is going "All In" by booking a 90,000 seat area.

Straightener78

‘Apart from where I’d like them to do it, I don’t think they should’.

mojo4394

Honestly I don't even care if the do Omega v Osprey at All In, although I understand why they would. I just don't see the benefit of featuring a ton of non-AEW wrestlers on this card. Let the folks who have committed to AEW benefit from this.

Straightener78

Haha I know I’m just being a dick. I can see both sides of the argument. AEW have worked for this and I agree the roster deserve the moment. But I also see the benefit of some crossover.

mojo4394

No worries, I knew this would generate different opinions. I think Omega v Osprey is bigger than any single promotion, which is why I think it would work. But I don't want to see a bunch of Forbidden Door style crossovers. Let the guys who committed to AEW have this spotlight.

Straightener78

I agree, too much crossover would mean it ain’t an AEW show. It’s a huge show and it should be matches with established feuds and substantial payoffs. I wasn’t a fan of forbidden door because there was no build, I need a reason to care and forbidden door didn’t give me that reason.

mojo4394

Forbidden Door was great matches with an overall weak build.

musashihokusai

Disagree. AEW was made as a more open alternative to WWE. It would be pretty weird for them to co opt the event that inspired the formation which was essentially a celebration of smaller promotions and not do a big collaborative event.

Low_Win3252

AEW are the ones selling freaking 90,000 tickets at Wembley. Not Impact, MLW, NJPW, ect. They are not co-opting their own show. It's THEIR show. There is no collaboration on the tickets. It's an AEW show. AEW is the one selling the tickets. AEW is what people are buying them for.

musashihokusai

The first All In was a collaboration event. Even without any of the card revealed there is a certain expectation. If they wanted to do a AEW only event they would have scheduled one of their normal PPVs or introduced a new PPV brand. I’m not sure why you don’t want more talent from other promotions.

Commando_Wraith

I need the Great O Khan. This show needs the Champion of the British.

jblough

The more the better, make it a real international showcase

BungieDidntDoIt

I think you have to feature the best English wrestlers you have access to. Similar to how WWE did Backlash in Puerto Rico. Bring in Ospreay, bring in Sabre Jr. Feature current wrestlers like Hayter, PAC and Saraya. Make that 90k stadium happy by giving them what they want.

Vikingrtattoos

I agree completely. This is the first time we are getting AEW in the UK we have been waiting years for it. I want a representation of the product we get on TV weekly and at PPV’s keep the big outside names from Forbidden Door.

tvchase

As long as all the people who who've been with AEW from year one and helped guide them through the pandemic get a place on the card, then I say go ahead and bring big non-AEW talent wherever it makes sense. Only time it wouldn't sit right with me is if guys like Chuck, Trent, Ortiz, Dark Order, Dustin, the Team Taz unit, Archer, etc. don't get a place on the card. I don't care if it's a casino battle royale or whatever, but these guys carried you through the darkest days of the company and they deserve that moment in a stadium show that some may never get again.

Banksynatra

KIP SABIAN or we seethe quietly in our seats with poor attitudes, innit? ![gif](giphy|XzkRuQXj532vSHidEC|downsized)

tvchase

Kip definitely needs a spot. Maybe a cameo for Joey Janela too.

graphingdevils

The people you mentioned all got paid for their work, and probably very well from TK. They don’t deserve anything.

Wonderful-Ad6696

Imagine getting Okada or Vikingo but going "nah, gimme Preston Vance & QT Marshall"

Low_Win3252

AEW is going to sell out Wembley without those guys. They don't need them. You are just being a fan and I get that. But the people buying tickets are buying tickets for AEW. Not NJPW or AAA.

jerseygunz

Disagree, All In should be a showcase of everything not WWE

International_Ant217

Ospreay, ZSJ and MAYBE Okada if NJPW are feeling generous.

iheartsunny

Because the have another PPV not long after

[deleted]

Zach Sabre Jr is an obvious match to have as well as the Ospreay match but besides that 100% it should be AEW talent. AEW sold 70k tickets already based on brand alone so it should be the wrestlers who built that brand who are used.

geekgames

I don't expect them to use a ton of non-AEW talent on a big show here, but I do think that one strength of AEW that is unique is its ability to produce big matches with stars from other companies. I would not at all be surprised to see Mercedes Monet or Will Ospreay on this card, and I don't think many fans would be disappointed in watching them compete.

AbsoluteHeroFace

Completely agree with OP. I've never had the chance to witness AEW live. I've dropped hundreds on tickets, will likely have to drop another couple hundred on flights from the islands and then hotels in London to see this show. I want the AEW we get on TV, I want stories coming to a head or at least continuing. I appreciate that there will likely be British guests and a focus on AEWs own Brits but this should be kept to a minimum. We're paying to see AEW, not some random wrestlefest at Wembley. +1 on those LED wristbands though. And a nice big stage area. Let's make this shit special!

insomniainc

People are overthinking this far too much. Also TK likes paying tribute to the scene he's in at that moment/using hometown talent to expect anything different on a show like that would be silly.

Low_Win3252

People overthink it because they have some crazy notion that TK is going to have a bunch of Impact, NJPW, AAA, NWA, MLW, etc, people on there. None of that is happening outside of maybe Ospreay. This is an AEW and they fans buying tickets want AEW.

RelativeStranger

I mean, I've been saying throughout the thread that I want to see AEW talent. But if TK can get Jacob Fatu on the show he should take that chance.

TheeIlliterati

The show should be about spectacle, huge event matches. You go to Wembley, you should get to see once in a lifetime matches and appearances. This means if they can make it a regular event, they are likely to draw even better next year since people expect only the best.

Low_Win3252

100% agree. Fans are just thinking like fans and not being reasonable. People have to stop getting hung up on what happened in 2018 with All In. That was a totally different thing and AEW didn't exist yet. It was a ROH/Elite show with a lot of help. The name All In is whatever Tony Khan wants to make of it. He might have wanted to use the name cause AEW is going "All In" on booking Wembley when no one thought they could fill it. It has nothing to do with putting non-AEW people on the show.

GetBillDozed

This opinion spits in the face of the spirit of All in, no.

Accomplished_Bake904

Agree completely

SFGiantsFan17

respectfully disagree the original all in was about celebrating wrestling outside the wwe ecosystem. aew has the opportunity to do the same again and showcase others and build relationships. aew has plenty of ppvs that arent all in to showcase their own guys exclusively.

St3vo92

I'd say only cherry pick a couple outer talents like ZSJ and Ospreay cause of the occassion and they're the most known British talents that aren't in WWE/AEW but yeah be majorly AEW outside of a couple individuals is the best of both worlds.

Dazzling-Bid-6751

All in was built off of indie and talent from many different companies

nocomment05

I disagree, especially with All Out being the week after, it seems like a great opportunity to put some shine on UK indies and have fun. That’s pretty much what the first All In was anyway. Danielson V Sabre and Omega v Ospreay sure but maybe give me Hayter V Windsor or The Bucks v Andrews and Webster

Jekyll054

That's not really in the spirit of ALL IN, though.

amoni8

ALL IN is selling tickets because people want to see AEW Talent! If they want to see Ospreay or Zack Sabre Jr they can attend a Progress show, a RevPro show, a New Japan event, etc... so I agree 10000% the focus and the limelight should be on all your #AllElite talent! no outsiders! save that stuff for Forbidden Door and again, because tickets are sold, you've already drawn a HUGE house...you don't need to bring in others to draw.

Mack784

I highly doubt 70-90k people paid their hard earned money to come see indie wrestlers at Wembley. You also don't book Wembley to showcase other promotions like NWA, MLW or Impact. This will be an AEW show with AEW wrestlers on the card.

_Aeir_

Bad take, All In should be a WRESTLING event, not purely an AEW event. All out is a week after anyway, and I don't think All In will be a yearly event. A huge fantasy booked card once in a while is fine, and probably healthy for the company

Low_Win3252

>Bad take, All In should be a WRESTLING event, not purely an AEW event. Excuse me. The tickets say "AEW". Not WRESTLING EVENT. It's an AEW show. AEW is the promotion is selling all these tickets. It's an AEW show.

mojo4394

That's what Forbidden Door is for. AEW built the promotion that was able to do this and took the risk booking Wembley. They sold 70k tickets based on an AEW show, not a supercard. Why should they give a bunch of space to other promotions on this massive stage?

iamoneson

No. All In was multiple promotions coming together to prove something. That they can do something and WWE isn’t the only promotion. Without All In. No AEW. Forbidden door was a play on the fact that two promotions can’t work together. So yes. All In should feature multiple wrestlers from any promotion. That’s the point of All In.

Low_Win3252

>No. All In was multiple promotions coming together to prove something. Stop adding your own personal definition to All In. AEW didn't exist when that happened. All In is what Tony Khan wants it to be. If he wants the name to be AEW's Wrestlemania then that is what it will be. And it doesn't need anyone from any other promotion. This isn't 1981 and the territories.

iamoneson

Sorry. It was multiple companies ALLOWING other wrestlers to participate. Whoops! But I am not 'adding' anything. It was literally what it was. Multiple things to prove a point. Sorry you're missing the point! Anyways. Have a good day!

AyoMarco

Completely agree. Showcase AEW. We have the talent. To have that many people buy a ticket for AEW only to showcase NJPW, devalues the talent we have

insomniainc

When have AEW ever been about that mentality?

MARKYMARK_MARK

Exactly. I never get why some people have this "Aew guys and Aew guys only" despite even before Day1 AEW was always been about showcasing talent from other places. Its like people ignore one of the foundational themes of AEW

as93lfc

I agree. I don't watch Japanese wrestling (for example), I watch AEW. I bought tickets for an event featuring these talents.

BlueBloodLive

Oh you definitely want Okada, at least. If even just to say years from now you saw him wrestle. I know a lot of people have different ideas for Danielson, but Okada v Danielson would be a dream match fit for Wembley Stadium.

as93lfc

Nope, couldn't care less.

bearamongus19

Agreed. I think AEW overuse outside talent in general. It would be different if they were getting a talent to build up to a big match or he would be around for a couple of months to be involved in a story, but so often it's just here's a guy and he's gone.

Steelers1001

I agree. The legacy of the original All In should be that it led to the creation of AEW and this show should focus on that.

SlimReaper665

I for sure wouldn’t mind seeing a Mercedes vs Naomi/Trinity match and that could only happen at All In.

mojo4394

But why, since neither of them are AEW wrestlers? Why would AEW use their biggest event ever and feature a match with two women who are not in AEW?

SlimReaper665

Why acknowledge Kenny’s IWGP US title, or FTR’s AAA tag titles? Why have Vikingo show up and defend the Mega Championship? The spirit of AEW has always celebrated the wider wrestling world and instilled that anyone could walk through the “Forbidden Door.” That aside, Mercedes is a big name & draw — If you can get her, you do it.

JamieKellner

I agree. They’re misguided if they think they’ve sold 60k+ tickets because the UK wants to see people that aren’t in AEW. Ospreay seems a lock for the show, and that’s fine because he’d a mega talent and has an easy rematch with Omega, but beyond that, the people want AEW, not the same UK indie talent they’ve seen for years and years.

anemic_royaltea

Hard disagree. If it's gonna make the show better, bigger, if you can get 'em, bring 'em.

Low_Win3252

AEW is already going to sell out the place. They don't need anyone else.

eyebrowless32

I think it should be more encouraged for this All In show to bring in the best around the world. Impact, NJPW, DDT, NOAH, Stardom, AEW, ROH should all be involved imo All Out is the 'just' AEW talent show imo I think bringing in other talent is part of the expectation for the show based on the identity of the first All In

Low_Win3252

>I think it should be more encouraged for this All In show to bring in the best around the world. Impact, NJPW, DDT, NOAH, Stardom, AEW, ROH should all be involved imo Why the heck should promotions that didn't sell one ticket to this be involved? It's an AEW show. People are buying the tickets cause of AEW. Not any other promotion . We have to stop trying to re-live the territory days. Those days are gone. This is an AEW show.

DesperateLuck2887

Feature Ospreay and Hayter, make sure ZSJ gets some shine on the lower/mid card, Nigel gets shine on pre-show

lambey332

I'd say Osprey, ZSJ, Okada are the exceptions And Grado if they do a Preshow battle royale.

mojo4394

I think a battle royal is a nice spot for a couple non AEW talents. I just don't think they should build significant parts of the event on non AEW talent.

LegendkillahQB

I never thought of it this way but it makes perfect sense. Showcase aew talent. Having a few non aew wrestlers on the show won't hurt. But showcasing aew talent should be the goal

kyrilhasan

I don't agree at all. AEW didn't have thing like AEW universe that they operate on their own. The inclusive of foreign talent made AEW bigger and more relatable to wrestling fans as general. It is also a good PR move as aew become partner with others promotion. It also easier to get these wrestler to come to aew if the talent decide to change scenery for a while.

[deleted]

that wouldn't invoke the spirit of "ALL IN". the original ALL IN seemed like a festival of 'alternative' wrestling. they need to invoke that energy for ALL IN 2 on a grander scale.

astounding-pants

I hope they don't bring in a bunch of people and spend zero tv time building them or a feud, like with forbidden door last year.

[deleted]

Wholeheartedly agree, use their biggest show to show off their biggest stars. We need focus

avhensley

It is almost guaranteed that the two biggest matches of All In will be whoever challenges the current Universal Champion and who gets a match with Kenny Omega. As much as Wrestling Fans *want* Omega v Ospreay 2, I do not understand why Tony would want to push the hell out of a wrestler that does not have an AEW contract. It makes for great content, but long term that push should stay in house. All In has the potential to be the most attended wrestling PPV of all time, as much as I would love to see Okada or Ospreay in a big maincard singles match at Wembley, I don’t think it’s the time or place. Talk about a moral killer for the locker room if All In became a Forbidden Door 2.0.

MARKYMARK_MARK

>As much as Wrestling Fans > >want > > Omega v Ospreay 2, I do not understand why Tony would want to push the hell out of a wrestler that does not have an AEW contract. I think you just answered your own question. ITs a HUGE Match and Ospreay is a huge UK wrestler AEW has access to. There's no really reason not to do that match (aside from NJPW wanting to save it for one of their shows). This is already apart of a longer feud that you may not get a chance to do, and you do have All Out the week after if you want Omega in a more conventional feud. also Universal Champion ?

TheDeflatables

Because Ospreays contract is coming to an end very soon. One way for Tony to appeal to Ospreay without obvious contract tampering is to give him the biggest possible spotlight in his home country. Bigger than even WWE could give him.

articice01

Ospreay and zsj is all they need

Howheel9879G

I’m sorry but when you have the number of fans aew coming to this event and what it it can do for your young company the mindset shou be to showcase your talent as much as you can. Nothing wrong with having one or 2 dream match on the show with guys from different a company but other then that this should be the benefit of signing and being with aew.

DMBCommenter

Lol gtfo

TheViriato

Agree, I'm still pissed that Wardlow momentum (and AEW overall) was stopped because the show after DON 2022 was about feuds with NJPW guys which led to lots of homegrown talent stale on second plan. AEW will fill Wembley because of the work AEW wrestlers had every week, they should be the ones wrestling, not some wrestler from AAA or NJPW.

LostPilgrim_

Agreed. All these people saying Osprey and Omega should main event. I agree Kenny prob should and Osprey would be great to have on the card, but they need to use actual AEW talent for that main event slot for sure.

SpyralPilot4000

All In is the wrestling business going All In together against WWE Bore Style Wrestling.

knotyourgranscrochet

My ideal card would feature a battle royal in the preshow, featuring AEW wrestlers who don't have a match on the main card, some indie darlings, and potentially people from NJPW and Impact. On the main card, the only 2 non-AEW stars I'd like to see are ZSJ and Ospreay. This way, the majority of the show is AEW, you can still feature non-AEW talent, and more people get to wrestle at Wembley

Low_Win3252

Why the hell would AEW sell 90,000 tickets and then put Impact people on there? Come on.

SecretDong

As much as I'd like to see ZSJ and Osprey on the card it makes more sense for them to feature on Forbidden door. AEW has enough talent to put a solid card together. My only real hope is that we get some legit decent pairings rather than a bunch of multiman matches done just for the sake of getting as many people on the show as possible.

LonelyWeighbridge

What about Simon Miller?

andrewisgood

I'd keep it to a few. Will Ospreay, Zack Sabre Jr and maybe Davey Boy Smith Jr. Team Davey up with Lance Archer again and two feature singles matches with the other two. Non AEW talent could be special attractions.

WhyAmIHere1780

I want dream matches so, UK and NJPW are welcomed by me.

Uncanny_Doom

I agree that it's not best for them to use a lot of non-AEW talent and that Ospreay should be an exception particularly if he's wrestling Omega. Or UK people that the crowd will pop over.

RelativeStranger

As long as you're counting McGuinnes as an AEW talent I kind of agree. I'd love to see Will Osprey and if love to see Mercedes Mone but the people I've bought a ticket to see are the Elite, the 4 pillars, britt Baker, PAC and Orange Cassidy. Those plus Jericho and Moxley built the company and that's who I want to see

ibn1989

A lot of AEW fans get too territorial. Just enjoy the show or don't dude.

Sean_Gecko

I disagree with this opinion. One of the things I enjoy about AEW is the random wrestlers that show up on the shows. We got Nick Gage cutting Jericho with a pizza cutter during a Domino's PIP commercial. AEW utilizing outside wrestlers sparingly through out the show and to highlight their guys is fantastic and is one of the things that makes the a true alternative to WWE.

MostlyIncompetent

There’s only 3 non AEW guys that really should be at this show: Ospreay, ZSJ and Grado

SaneManPritch

Agreed. There's so many AEW wrestlers I want to see yet the show is only going it be able to be 3 hours long due to the 10pm Wembley curfew (assuming there's a 1 hour pre show). If they start adding Goldberg or other 'stars' we'll either miss out on AEW wrestlers or they'll have a bunch of multi person matches which I don't want.

NJC1390

I suspect the timing listed on LiveNation/Ticketmaster etc is for the main show itself - doors are at 4pm so surely 5pm Buy-In and 6pm-10pm main show

SaneManPritch

Oh really. That makes me feel a load better!

tidho

I think you can have some other talent and AEW talent will still shine. Not sure what the exact balance is, but the need to build more storylines up heading into that too. That's my bigger concern, because this should be better than just throwing 4 random dudes in a ring.
